This fabulous OCEANVIEW studio condo at The Whaler is situated on the renowned sandy shoreline of Kaanapali Beach. It is located right next door to Whalers Village which has fabulous restaurants, bars, and shopping. This 6th floor unit is based in Whaler Tower I which faces the northeast and receives a good amount of shade. It is a perfect place to relax on the private lanai and take in the views of the lush tropical surroundings and the beautiful Pacific Ocean. A fully appointed kitchen is available for you to make a gourmet meal at home or whip up your favorite cocktail! There are also BBQ areas on the property for you to grill outside. The Whaler recently completed a 36 million dollar renovation! You will enjoy taking a stroll through the beautiful courtyard and admiring the lush grounds and koi pond. The Whaler truly has it all!

NO SMOKING IN CONDO OR LANAIS. The state of Hawaii has a strict no smoking ordinance. Smoking allowed only in designated areas. Fines and extra cleaning are strictly enforced.

RESORT FEES: Although this is a privately owned condo, the Whaler Homeowners Association charges a $25/day plus tax resort fee (which covers parking and resort amenities). It is payable at the front desk which is located in the main lobby. Front desk check-in and check-out is required at the Whaler.

CANCELLATIONS:

A sixty (60) day notice is required for cancellation. Cancellations that are made more than sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date will be refunded 100% damage/reservation deposit paid to LLC. If the reservation is during Peak Winter December through March and the week of a holiday, our policy requires ninety (90) days cancellation notice to receive 100% refund. This does not include any booking fees paid to an outside travel agency. In this case you will need to abide by their policies. Cancellations or changes that are made within 60 days or 90 days when applicable of the arrival date, forfeit the full advance payment and damage/reservation deposit. Cancellation, shortened stays or early departure does not warrant any refund of rent or deposit. You may choose to purchase travel insurance separately which we highly recommend. Nature and the lack of or the amount of sandy beach does not warrant a refund. We can not control nature or predict the weather or beach conditions. Our tropical environment is subject to pests. The resort complexes do regular treatments as does our management company. We ask guests to take care in cleaning up immediately after food items are used.

"Loved Whalers
We loved our unit and it made a beautiful trip even better. Everything from booking through check in was super smooth and no issues. The condo unit was perfect and seems like it was newly renovated. Beautiful facility and location. Beach was awesome and we watched whales everyday from the beach, the bbq and the deck. The ability to watch whales from your condo while drinking coffee every morning is truly amazing. We will be back for sure!!"

"Excellent place to stay!
The condo was very clean and recently updated with new appliances, carpet, furniture and soft bedding. It has a spectacular view of the ocean from the balcony. I would absolutely stay here again.

The only complaint I have is that the pictures were a little deceiving I thought the room overlooked the ponds in the pool and not in north facing but otherwise, it was great very plain I think that there needs to be some more items in the kitchen for use. "

"Great Place to Stay in Maui
The location of this condo is great! The balcony looks out on the water, so you just walk outside and you are at the beach. You can also walk to restaurants and shopping. You can watch the whales blowing and breaching right from shore, but take a whale watching boat trip to really see them up close. The only negative I have to say about this condo is that they need to update the bathtub."

"The Whaler 616
The Whaler is in a great location and I’ve stayed there many times. This studio is very dated and it smelled inside, like the carpets hadn’t been vacuumed or from pets. The pillows were all much too large - most hotels have a variety of pillows of different sizes. There was also no spatula in the kitchen - a pretty basic item. You also get a big legal document when you first make reservations which doesn’t feel like a great start to a vacation."

"Improving
My wife, son, and I enjoyed this rental. Unfortunately the outdated bathroom is holding this rental back from being great. Even though the bathroom was clean it still looks dingy. The pocket door mentioned in previous reviews was being addressed while we where there. The shower/toilet had a separate door and the walk-in closet did as well for added privacy when needed. The carpets had been cleaned in the morning before we arrived. The AC was serviced while we were there and gave us no issues. The rental company clearly addressed the issues from the earlier review. The rental company was very accessible, polite, and respectable. It was very easy to communicate with them. The kitchen had been updated with new full size appliances. All were in working order and the kitchen contained all the basic cookware. The Whaler property was very enjoyable. The room was extremely quite with free laundry on the same floor. Extremely easy access to covered parking so groceries, gear, or luggage could be handled away from the elements. The Whaler location could not have been better. Close to shops, restaurants and a big beach that never was crowded. Side note this property is beach front. Some other rentals are advertised as ocean front which doesn’t always mean a beach is accessible. The fitness center was also very modern and clean with a wide variety of both cardio and strength equipment. An updated bathroom would really put this unit over the top and set it apart. "

"Paying only for location
I would only suggest this unit for its location on Kaanapali beach. You definitely get what you pay for, so I wouldn’t pay too much for this rental. The unit is kind of a dump. It may have been “remodeled” since the property was first built but it’s been at least 10 years. The bathroom is disgusting. The bathtub is original and gross. The toilet barely flushes. We have to do one big flush after everyone has used it and that’s gross. The pocket door to the bathroom is broken, so you’re standing in the bathroom for the world to see. The carpet is not very clean, the mattress on the bed is uncomfortable. Upon arrival, there was some nasty brown liquid around the toilet on the floor. The air conditioning doesn’t work very well either. We had it all the way down and it was still very hot. The unit is not very well equipped. Overall I would not recommend this rental. It needs a major overhaul."
