"Very nice
The condo looked better in person than the photos I thought. Very roomy and almost like staying in a house rather than a condo. As mentioned in other reviews, the light fixture in the kitchen is a hazard, if you are over 6 feet tall. Everything else about the condo was nice and we will probably be back. The Ft Walton beach area was new to us, we usually stay inside Destin. If you drive towards the west of Ft Walton beach, it gets a little sketchy, but we always drove east, into Destin when we wanted to eat and play. Overall, it was a very nice vacation and the whole family enjoyed themselves, no real complaints."

"Condo 701 review
Having ours on and his family was overall a very relaxed and enjoyable experience. The three bedroom makes it much easier to accommodate larger families. Myself being slightly handicapped would have felt more secure if the master bath would have had some assistance hand bars and maybe a handicapped commode but I survived so that maybe a future project to make it more handicapped accessible. Just a thought. Discovered some black mold over the two top cabinet doors above stove but as we didn't have to use them it didn't present a problem. Like I say it was overall a good stay and I only mention these things to maybe give the owners a review. "

"Great Ft Walton Beach Condo
This is the second year that our family stayed in this unit. It was a great locations with one large and one small balconies. Having beach service included in your amenities is a great plus. Very roomy, clean, well stocked kitchen and beach equipment are just some of the things that make this unit so great. I would highly recommend it to a large family. Parking on the left end was wonderful. You walked right in to the elevator and when you stepped out you were at the door to your unit. Beautiful decor and furnishings. "

"Great View
My family and I loved this unit. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and we didn't feel like we were walking over each other. The views were great with the wrap around deck and my kids loved having their own private deck for hanging out in the evenings.
My only suggestion for the unit would be to place can lights in the kitchen instead of having a light fixture. Anyone over 5'10" hits their head while walking through the kitchen.
The only disappointment was there was no hot tub. What looked like a hot tub in the pictures turned out to be a baby pool."

"Unbelievable View with an amazing property
From the time we booked our trip to the check in at the Real Estate Office to walking in the door at the property the experience was perfect. This was our first time using VRBO, and I was skeptical. All of my fears were laid to rest the moment we walked in the door. There is a closet when we walked in with beach chairs, pool floats for our use. Each bedroom has a view of the ocean. My husband and I were traveling with two other friends, and my GF had her own mini master suite with her own bathroom and balcony with views. My husbands BF took the room with two twin beds and a balcony with views. In the master we had a HUGE bathroom with soaking tub, there is a massive closet where we laid out our suitcases and the big king bed was situated in the room so that we could see the gulf. A door that walked out onto the balcony adjoining the living room & dining room. Now for the amazing part.. the curtains were closed when we walked in and so we were able to take in all the comforts of this suite. Big kitchen with a long bar, full size fridge, stove, coffee maker and dishwasher & AN ICE MAKER! There is a long dining room table and we were able to invite my nephew and his wife over for a great seafood feast from Stewby's Seafood Shanty. Once the curtains were opened we had 200 degree views of the gulf and the beach. Seriously we were all blown away. The property was very clean, and better than the pictures or description. One small design decision we thought was a negative was the light fixture in the kitchen, it is a track light that hangs a little low for the two men we traveled with who were over 6' tall. They bonked their heads, but that was so minor and it didn't interfere with our amazing experience. The beds were all comfy, I asked everyone so I could accurately write this review. The towels were supplied and I knew there was a washer and dryer so I packed a couple tide pods so we could wash our stuff before we left. There are laundry baskets supplied for each guest. "

Property was as described. Well maintained. The shower head in one of the bathrooms needs some attention, but overall, the unit was well maintained. Lots of space for a family of 6 to eat, play games, and just catch up after pandemic havoc."

"Great Spring Break!
It was a great condo and very well stocked to meet all our needs! The only thing we saw that needed a little updating were the bathrooms but we were well pleased with everything else. It was so nice having the complimentary beach service as well as extra beach chairs and swim toys. "

We came down to visit family for Thanxgiving and this was the perfect unit to host our family in. 1925 sq feet gave us plenty of room to spread out and no one was on top o us. There may have been a few things that were a little 'dated' but the views, the room and everything else about this unit far outweighed that. Absolutely loved this unit. "

"Amazing condo with amazing views and beach access
We’ve been going to Surf Dweller for more than 35 years. We’ve stayed in so very many condos here over the years. This 701 condo lived up to the pretty pictures and written description. We were seven adults and one infant and were very comfortable with the three bedrooms three baths and living room kitchen area. My only recommendation is to replace the sofa bed mattress. It’s springs poked my adult son that slept on it. The other beds were all comfy. It had what we needed in the kitchen for cooking, the ice maker was a nice perk too, 2 low beach chairs for our use at the waters edge were a pleasant surprise! My entire group voted to stay here again next year!"

"Our stay at the surf dweller
We have been comnf to the surf dweller for over 25 years.
This is our favorite vacation spot .
We did have issues with a few things , sleep safe mattress is completely worn out the bars hurt our backs a lot. Lights over bad the pendent one did not work .
There needs to be outlet covers over all outlets that don't have one. Children can put their hand inside of the outlet area.
The shower curtain in the hall bathroom fell down at least ten times and we kept putting it back up. Finally gave up and left it down. Also consider getting a curved rod and a hookless shower curtain . They work great I have them in my home. We like the condo plenty of room and a great view . "

WE received superior service from Alicia Hollis and associates. All of our questions were answered before arrival and anything we noticed that needed attention received it while we were there. Amazing. Gorgeous view, great convenience with the elevator near by and you would have thought we were the only people in the building, it was that quiet. We can not wait to visit this condo again!"

My mom, brother and I stayed for a week at Surf Dweller 701. The condo was beautiful, well furnished and comfortable. The best part was the large patio facing the ocean, which included a table that comfortably seated 6 people. The beach is great, and the pool was nice. We will definitely return!"

Been renting this unit for 15 years. Always a good experience; however, owner has raised the rent 46.3% over the past 2 years & has done little or no upgrading of the unit. The mattress on the bed in the master bedroom desperately needs replacing. It’s killing my back. It’s time they shared some of the extra money we’ve been giving them with the customer. The cabinets in the kitchen need replacing. "

"Best Vacation Ever
Alicia J. Hollis Realty was efficient and extremely accommodating! The view of the Gulf from our condo was majestic. I loved how quick and easy it was to walk to the beach each day. Kitchen was well equipped with utensils and cookware, though the knives could be sharpened. Overall, my best vacation in a long time. Looking forward to working with this realtor in the future."

"Disappointed in Sept 2016
We have used Hollis Reality for 3 consecutive years and we could not be more disappointed than we were this past Sept. The condo is need of repair and overall general maintenance. Condo needs to re- stocked in the Kitchen area, there were more light bulbs out than working,the furniture on the balcony is only about 2 years old and it is already rusty and falling apart(seems very cheap) the old set was in better condition, walls need to repaired where the doors that go out to the balcony, the refrigerator needs to bigger and the ice maker needs to be replaced and I'm sure the owners don't know what the condition of the condo is in. While we were there the under cabinet ice maker stopped working and with that being the only ice maker in the unit, ice was not readily accessible and took over a 5 days to get it fixed, in fact the day we checked out it was getting fixed. So after contacting Alicia and wanting some kind of compensation, she said they are not responsible for ice and the only option was that she would deliver 1 bag of ice per day for 6 people. That was the only compensation she was willing to give and in the process she was very rude and unsympathetic, I work in customer service and she has no idea what it takes to keep paying customers happy. So after this stay we will never use Hollis Reality to rent another condo or house. They lost a returning customer over ICE! Poor business decision."

"Absolutely Stunning Views from Unit 701
We absolutely loved our stay at the Surf Dweller, Unit 701. Sitting on the balcony and watching the sunset and the surf was calming and breathtaking. This unit was close to our favorite restaurant "Pandora's" and also close to restaurants in Destin. We will definitely rent this unit again.
I would recommend some attention to replacing light bulbs, batteries in the master bedroom TV remote and checking the master bathroom toilet (the tank does not fill every time)."

"great service, not so good unit
First let’s be clear that the suggestions below do not reflect the service given by you, your office and your maintenance staff. We are thrilled with the attention and the promptness of responses you have provided us.
As for the unit here are our thoughts:
Front door seal needs changing. We had to stuff towels at the bottom to muffle the whistling noise from the wind and keep the clod out.
The front guest bed room needs a thicker curtain as people waiting for the elevator can easily see through into the bedroom.
I have extended the length of the control chains on 3 of the 4 ceiling fans. They need a more permanent fix.
The outside furniture on the guest bedroom patio is rusty and stains clothes.
The kitchen light fixture is a danger to anyone over 6 foot tall.
Glass cutting boards are great for cleanliness but dull knives. We had to buy a knife that was sharp.
MBR toilet seat pads and grouting have to be replaced. Very dirty.
MBR door to balcony does not close properly. The curtain has mold all over…health issue ? last night we had to sleep in the front room as the whistling from the wind woke us up at 4 AM. I suggest a screen door so we can open it without fear of bugs. ( remember I found a dead rain beetle upon our arrival )
I suggest you tell your clients that the Bar B Q’s are totally rusted and useless and that the pool is not heated. Very disappointing to find out on arrival.
Cable reception and Wi Fi needs improvement. We keep losing the feed when we stream.
Finally when we arrived we found 2 dead rain beetles, the kitchen counter was full of sand and in the MBR under part of the toilet seat had not been cleaned, the sides of the bowl were dirty and the toilet not flushed. We will pay to have the unit cleaned after we leave so we would expect more cleanliness when we arrive. Maybe a word with your cleaning staff.
all in all certainly not worth what they are asking for.

had a great time. weather could have been a little warmer, but it is November. Living room furniture and carpet were very new. Unit is older but very nice, just needs a little routine maintenance, such as lights that don't work, shower heads need replacing... I know it was off season, but the surf dweller property doesn't seem to have daily maintenance/cleaning personnel. "

"Unhappy with condo upkeep !!!
After driving 774 miles I was very unhappy to find the condo ice maker was not working, not one piece of ice. There were no ice trays in the frig. I had to go out to buy ice. The next day someone from the rental office brought some ice trays. The ice maker was not repaired until the day before we left the condo.
The shower head in the master bath was so covered with minerals the you could not move it or adjust the spray.
In the front bedroom closet wall the is a 4 inch square hole. In the middle bedroom there is a 4 inch square hole in the wall above the door.
The coffee pot warming plate was covered with rust, as was the bottom of the pot. A new coffee maker was furnished by the rental office.
The ceiling fans speed adjustment chains were not properly installed in any room.
This is a very nice unit but it is in need of an upgrade to met rental standards.
In the past we have very happy with the condos we have rented thru your office. We have stayed in the Sea Oats, Summerlin, and other unit in the Surf Dweller."

"Wonderful View from Spacious Unit
We absolutely love Surf Dweller. This was our family's 10th year. The 7th floor view was beautiful and the ocean breeze on the enormous balcony was so relaxing. Loved having an ice maker! Unit does need some attention with moisture issues and unfinished repairs. I would suggest bringing unbreakable beverage containers to use on beach and by the pool since there are none available for guests in the unit. "

"Imperial loves Fort Walton
Unit was plenty big and roomy for my wife & I, my parents who have never been to this part of Florida before, they absolutey loved it. They want to come back every year, and our daughter & grandson & our son. We love Florida and would definitely come back and rent this condo again. "Wonderful condo with only one drawback
Everything about Unit 701 was perfect. However, it would have been nice to have one roll of paper towels, a kitchen sponge/dish detergent to help us until we made our trip to the store. I know that is nit-picking but that was the ONLY fault I could find! We loved our stay!"

"Love the Complex. This room failed to meet our expectations.
My family has stayed at Surf Dweller for 21 of the past 26 years. This is the first room that did not meet my expectations. The beach is beautiful, the grounds are well maintained. This room smelled like urine (maybe its the neighbors pets) and just didn't "feel" as clean as previous rooms we have stayed in."

"Corner Paradise
We love Okaloosa Island and affectionately entitle Surf Dweller 701....Corner Paradise. The view is breathtaking from every wi ndow of this u nit. It is homey, the kingsize master bed is So comfortable , The room darkening drapes in the dini g, living and bedroom are great , the electric fireplace is cozy and we especially appreciate Amanda at Hollis Realty. She is most professional , helpful and friendly.

"Surf Dweller is the Best!
My parents, aunts, uncles, cousins stayed in a large vacation home in Pensacola for years. When it was destroyed by Hurricane Opal, my parents found Surf Dweller and we've stayed there ever since. Literally, every room in the condo is spacious, even the laundry room, and has either a view of the bay or the Gulf. To me, the view is most important and the balcony has more than enough room for a normal sized patio table and chairs. This is not typical for most condos these days. "
