This delightful oceanfront cottage is located in the heart of Atlantic Beach just a short distance to shopping & restaurants. Enjoy the panoramic views of the ocean from the covered deck or sun deck. This home has a bedroom, full bath, kitchen, living & dining area on the first level. Second floor offers 4 bedrooms and 2 full baths.

"Windy Trip
Canon & Gruber were awesome! The house was in a great location and the layout of house was good. Don't know if because it was very humid out, but the duct works in the house were always wet and drippy. You had to wipe the dryer out before using because it was wet on inside and had a little puddle of water in it always. The shrubbery needs to be pruned that is growing in the sides of the decking and on the steps. You could only use half of the steps going to the path that is also very overgrown."

"Absolute delight
This house was just perfect for our needs. We were an extended family of seven, and there was so much room. The pictures of the covered and uncovered decks don't do justice to what they actually were...roomy and the rockers were the perfect addition. The large and well appointed kitchen allowed for many cooks and the kitchen table was huge! The close walk to the beach, just over the dune, and short drive to amenities were an added bonus. Loved this place!"

"Shorebirds - 2 Week Vacation Review for 7/2019
Overall, our stay was average to good. However, we did experience some issues that I shared with Cannon & Gruber at check-out. All bath shower heads need to be replaced, roaches everywhere at night (I even purchased and put out $15 worth of roach traps myself), living room furniture was soiled (needs to be cleaned or replaced). The owner also really needs to add a second sofa or living room seating for a house that sleeps 12-15 people. This is our 3 years in a row renting this property and we really love staying here for 2 consecutive weeks. It appears some repairs/updates were made to the exterior since 2018, however the repairs/updates mentioned above really needs to be taken care of on the inside of the cottage. If so, then we would love to stay again next year and recommend to others."

"Shorebirds had roaches feces in the cupboards
We have visited Atlantic Beach with our family every year for a long time now. We have stayed at Shorebirds before and unfortunately our experience this year means that it is going to be the last time.
Although the cottage is advertised as able to sleep 14, don’t expect to feed them unless they are going to share the 6 or 7 settings of cutlery.
When we arrived we found a couple of dead roaches on the floor of the cottage. The climate here is tropical so it is not necessarily unexpected to see this kind of wildlife. The exterminator who was dispatched when we called the property management company advised us that the problem was bigger than two inch long roaches. What we thought were mouse droppings in the cupboard were in fact roach droppings. The exterminator was surprised that the property did not have a regular pest control program in place. We checked in on Saturday and we discovered that the water heater was malfunctioning (it had in fact been turned down). This left us taking cool showers for the first two days of our stay until the Canon & Gruber office re-opened on Monday and the property managers arrived to investigate and turn up the temp. Two of the appliances of the property did not work. The dishwasher did not drain and the dryer did not dry. I do recall the dryer being ineffectual during an earlier visit and the dishwasher was temperamental. No improvement since our last stay here. Washing dishes by hand all week was not what we expected to do.
We reported a broken storm door on the cottage after we checked in and this was promptly replaced with a new door. No such luck for the other appliances. Since our last stay at Shorebirds two window air conditioning units were added to the property to augment the central system. The system is aging and these are band aid solutions set up to compensate and bring a little more cool to the inside of the house. These are all issues that one does not need when checking into a vacation prope"

"fellows get away weekend
very cute house, with a great location. house real needs a good dusting and someone should check home day of a person checking to ensure there are no bugs laying around. me and 5 of my close buddies stayed here to celebrate my bday and go deep sea fishing, which for us we are use to being out doors or camping, but if I had brought my wife and kids we would really needed the cleaners to come back before we stepped foot inside."

"Great Beach Vacation Spot-needs a little TLC
This is the second time that we have stayed in this property. As we did a few years ago, we very much enjoyed rocking on the porch during the afternoons and of course the beachfront is incredible. We would go back but in the intervening years since our last stay we noticed some wear and tear on the equipment. The dishwasher was very difficult to close (the latch needed adjustment). We note that two of the bedrooms could use new mattresses (The double bed specifically and one of the bunk beds that had a single foam that was found to be uncomfortable by our guest). There were 10 of us in the cottage and the space is supposed to accommodate up to 14. There is not enough cutlery to accommodate the maximum number of people. This is the end of the season and many guests have left on the back porch a number of beach toys and some chairs. All of these are broken which does not reflect well on the property.

Although the space was professionally cleaned when we arrived, we had a couple of encounters with roaches in the kitchen a couple of nights into our stay. This is a great place with many amenities but at this time I think it needs a little attention and TLC."

"Never ever again would I rent Shore Birds!
We were very disappointed in our stay st 'Shore Birds'. The first day we arrive, we have loads of groceries to put away and the refrigerator is warm! There is a note on it saying to wait "12-15 hrs to have it reach temperature! Are you kidding me!? I have meat, shellfish, milk etc.! That evening we go to grill dinner, the propane tank is empty & disconnected! I called the realty and was told "we don't get involved w/ the propane tanks". You will have to go get it filled at BP. I responded I just got here and I now have to run out and get propane? I have been renting summer houses for over 45 years and never had to do that! That's either the owners job or the realtors! It cost us $25! I want to be reimbursed for it! Even the handyman that was sent by you said other renters were reimbursed for the same thing so I want also to be reimbursed! He also said that the grill was a piece of **** as did the owners workmen who came by the following day to install a storm door. At least they went farther and told the owner who said to get a new grill, which was delivered the next am. Your cleaning crew is horrible! There was a deflated "blow up doll" on the deck where our grandchildren play, we had to discard it! Disgusting! Doesn't your crew check the deck? There was no oothpaste on the upstairs bathroom cupboard door, couches were sandy. The house isn't well stocked.. not a decent fry pan, or pots, no coffee filters ( no one knows what kind of coffee filters are needed!) bedspreads were old, dirty and tattered on most beds, wondered when they were washed last. I've rented this house 3-4 yrs ago and it has gone downhill unbelievable. Won't ever rent it again!! It was very frustrating to await a long planned vacation w/family after a bout w/ chemo and radiation to be so aggravated and disappointed! I do expect to be reimbursed at the very LEAST FOR THE PROPANE TANK!

Shorebirds is a comfortable, relaxing vacation destination. There is ample room for a large group. We all enjoyed spending time on the porch watching the ocean. The staff at C & G are very professional and helpful. Overall, a very satisfying vacation experience."

Stayed at the shorebirds with a group of girls for a beach trip and loved it. IT had everything we needed in the kitchen, tons of sleeping space, wonderful covered and open deck, and it was on the beach! The decor is outdated so if that is important to you, you will not be happy. It was older, but clean. The bedding could use an update, but we were on a beach trip so spent little time in the home. "

"great potential! Lots of room!
Size of house was great. Linens/towels were great! Bathrooms were very clean and functional. Loved the covered back porch and deck and the location on the beach and views were fantastic. How can you have a house on the beach and the windows don't open??? Extremely disappointing! NO bedrooms windows would open - glued/nailed shut!!!! Kitchen was well equipped but the pots and pans were in terrible condition - so much caked on grease that it was hard to cook with them. Grill did not light - no fuel? "

"Great place to relax and enjoy family time at the beach
This cottage is very spacious. We thoroughly enjoyed the back porch and all of the amenities it offered. The Cottage will accommodate far more people than our party of five. The property could use a few more plates and cutlery in the kitchen particularly if you had a larger group. We also thought that the fridge and dryer had seen better days. The access to the beach is great and this end is very quiet. We would rent again. "
