Experience a unique coastal getaway in Trinidad, CA. Nestled on the rugged and beautiful Northern California coast, this charming 3 bedroom/ 2 bathroom A-frame home built in the 1970's and secondary family room cabin built offer majestic ocean views. This property is an idyllic retreat for nature lovers and beach enthusiasts alike. As you step inside this 2 story home, you'll be greeted by a cozy and comfortable living space adorned with one of a kind artwork and décor from the Russian history professor and his wife who studied English literature at U.C. Berkeley and were frequent travelers of Europe and once inhabited this home. The main level includes the open dining, living room and kitchen which makes for easy gathering and entertaining. The fully equipped kitchen has a gas range, toaster oven, microwave and all the gadgets needed to prepare great meals with ease. Enjoy your culinary creations at the dining table, while the ocean breeze drifts in through the open windows. The dining table comfortably seats 6. Alternatively, you can savor your meals al fresco, which offers uninterrupted views of the ocean and surrounding coastline. The living room has a leather sectional sofa and t.v. There is a den located just off the living room. This space is set up with a small sofa and provides a quiet space to retreat, read a book or take a nap. The property boasts 3 comfortable bedrooms, each with new memory foam queen bed to ensure a peaceful night's sleep. There is one bedroom and bathroom on the main level. This bedroom has a Queen bed and views of the evergreen forest. The bathroom has a stall shower. Upstairs is carpeted throughout and offers 2 more bedrooms both with Queen beds. The West facing bedroom has sweeping ocean views where guests can enjoy waking to the sounds of the sea and the East facing bedroom has views of Redwood trees. There is a 2nd bathroom upstairs that has a bathtub, no shower.

Walk across the breezeway and step inside the cabin that was the original structure built in the 1950's as a retreat for music professors at what is now Cal Poly Humboldt (photos coming soon!). Originally it was a place to play music and was later designed as a family gathering space with breathtaking magical ocean views! The cabin provides more space to spread out, relax, watch t.v., play games or simply watch waves crashing against the cliffs and sea stacks. Witness stunning sunsets from the comfort of the cabin. This space will quickly become a favorite spot for taking in the sweeping ocean views, spotting falcons, whales and sea lions and playing games at the large table. The gas fireplace adds both warmth and ambiance.

Located in a prime location just a few miles North of Trinidad, known as the crown jewel of Humboldt County guests are just a short drive to all of the conveniences of downtown - a full service grocery store, café, restaurants, a historic museum, pier and shops. Trinidad also boasts some of the most pristine beaches around. Sumeg State Park and Redwood National Park with incredible scenic coastal trails and giant ancient Redwoods are just miles from your doorstep. Spend your days exploring the rugged cliffs, tide pools teeming with marine life, and secluded coves. Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Trinidad and experience the tranquility of the Pacific Ocean and the magic Humboldt has to offer.

"Love Abalone Cabin !
It was awesome ! Expensive but worth the price of admission. My family and I had a great time over the Christmas Holidays. I am definitely going to rent this wonderful property again ! "

"Wonderful views and privacy in Redwoods
This was truely as advertised — a house with real character, immaculately clean, that sits alongside its own cabin library — both with breath-taking views of the North California coast. The book collection was a revelation. The stay was wonderfully quiet, and rainy days in the woodlands district not a problem here. Sublime."

"M&C Nov2023
We enjoyed the main build and the cabin, the view was grand. The location was perfect for everything we had in mind while staying. We will come again!"

"Pleasant Stay!
This ‘Abalone’ home has a beautiful view from the fenced off cliff in the front yard. It was wonderful to hear the waves crashing on the shore below and it was warm enough, even in late Sept., to enjoy our breakfast outside. The home is dated but clean and very useable. The beds were very comfortable too. We spent a lot of time in the ”CABIN” building watching movies and completing a puzzle after our day trips. I must note the heater worked well in there but was very noisy. The electric fireplace was in pieces and did not work at all which was a disappointment. The refrigerator freezer was overcome with ice and frost but management seemed uninterested. Overall , we enjoyed our relaxing stay. "

"A Great Vacation Home!
We loved this home on the ocean. The view is spectacular, and the home is more spacious than pictured online. Comfortable for 6 adults.
We enjoyed total privacy and tranquility here and hope to return. "

"Redwood Visit
The cabin was an excellent location to visit the Redwoods and do some additional nearby hiking. The views are awesome! The cabin is spotless and has everything you need. We shoped at the local grocer, Murphys to make breakfast and dinner. We also enjoyed dinner at Larrupin Cafe. I would highly recommend this cabin for some outdoor beauty and enjoyment."

"A piece of heaven
The home was perfect. Very well maintained and clean like new. The great room library is amazing! Large grassy area over looking the most beautiful beach and a canopy of redwoods - Just amazing. Management was very attentive with a few questions I had and a small issue with cable was immediately taken care of. Always had a great experience with Trinidad Retreats. Thank you, we'll be back every year. 15 minutes to the airport, 20 to Eureka and 5 to Trinidad. Great restaurants and shopping!"

"Great Location with a Stunning View!
The cabin was as described, very clean, private, and had everything we needed for our stay. We explored the nearby beaches and the redwood forests. There was a great guidebook in the cabin to help us make plans. We spent evenings on the patio watching the sunset. The nearby Larrupin Cafe was fantastic (though on the pricey side). The property manager went above and beyond to help us with an issue we had on our way out of town - exceptionally helpful! I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again! "
