This colorful and charming 2 bedroom, 2 bath home is the ideal beach getaway. Beautiful white washed pine flooring in kitchen, living and dining. Spacious bedrooms with updated baths are a bonus! Second refrigerator located in the garage. There is also a washer/ dryer. Literally steps to the community pool or take the boardwalk to the beach. This Fabulous home is located in beach front Lost Colony Villas. The primary of this home has a king size bed and the second bedroom a queen bed. There is also a sleeper sofa for extra space. Each of the bedrooms has a private bath. The open living room / kitchen area has plenty room to gather in the evening. This community has a boardwalk to the beach and a community pool. Located on a secluded beach on Mustang Island this is the perfect place for a family vacation. All vehicles must be parked in driveway. No parking in the grass or street. Towing enforced by the HOA.

- This is a PET-FRIENDLY RENTAL. Pet fees are an additional $20.00+tax, per pet, per night. A maximum of 3 pets are allowed. Additionally, a pet-cleaning fee is also charged, which is $50 for stays of 7 days or less, $75 for stays of 8-29 days, and $100 for stays of 30 or more days.

"Cool little house
Everything was great except:
Dryer worked but did not dry clothes
There were ants everywhere in kitchen, everyday
Would like to have seen a few more items such as dishwashing pods (we were given 2 for 9 days) ant spray.

"Clean, comfortable & great location!
Our rental was perfect for our family. It was clean and well equipped to cook meals and has a great table for playing games. The beach is a short 5 minute walk away, so very convenient. I saw many bad reviews regarding the pool and even though we didn't go see for ourselves, it certainly looked clean and refreshing walking by."

"Disappointing
The house was a disappointment. The bathrooms are dated and shower liners didn’t seem clean. The washer and dryer were only accessible from outside, which wouldn’t have been the worst thing but we had 5 people an d 8 towels and the mosquitos were horrible!!!! HORRIBLE! We had to run with the kids and shut the car doors as quickly as possible to prevent swarms from entering the car. Our friends we were traveling with had extra space so we ended up not staying a single night at the property. The kitchen and living room was nice and the TV was good. "

"New Year’s Perfection
The house was perfect, and so cute, just as pictured. The guest bath was slow to drain; but even on NYE, maintenance was there in a jiffy to fix it. The weather was so nice too! My daughter, & friends, had actually stayed in the house last summer when a small hurricane moved in. The owners didn’t have to refund their money; but they did. They are the best!"

"Great House
The house was amazing. We ran into one small problem but it was fixed quickly. We loved the house and all the room it had. Everyone had plenty of space, the kitchen was nice and the beds were kinda comfy. The only negative things we would say is that there isn’t shade over the top deck so you can’t sit up there after the sun is up, the mosquitos are awful and you have to drive to the beach in your vehicle or walk down fighting the mosquitos.

"Great getaway
We enjoyed our stay at villa #30. I was concerned that the beach might not be close enough to walk to with all the stuff and a child. Even with a cart full of things and a slow walking child it took us only 8 min to get there, according to apple watch it was 0.29 mile walk from the house to the beach. The board walk does have a couple steps, so keep that mind if you are taking a cart or a stroller. Downstairs area was very convenient for storing all the beach stuff, but it did smell. There has been a lot of rain, so I assume it was from rain + humidity + mold. No such smell upstairs.
The master bed was not very comfortable and very creaky. The other bedroom with a queen size bed was a bit more comfortable but still creaky.
Living room was great for hanging out and watching wildlife in the pond and grassy area behind the house. We saw lots of birds and a coyote. "

"Great location, wish the bathrooms were cleaner
The rental is an easy 10 minute walk to the beach, which was important to us with two small children. We loved the spacious patio and the view. The neighboring homes were far enough apart that we felt like we had privacy. Most kitchen items were provided, though I wish there were glass/ceramic dishes available to be used in the microwave. My biggest qualm about the property was the bathrooms. They were quite dirty - grime in the tubs, shower liners, and floors. I actually wore flip flops while showering because I did not feel at all comfortable. Bathrooms are important to me while traveling, so if this isn't a big deal for you, the rental would be perfect for you. "

"Lost colony #30
The house was very cute and although did not have an ocean view we could still hear the ocean from the deck. The view faces a little pond, the dunes, and part of the highway, but not bad. The house was mostly clean, although we did find a few crumbs on a couple of plates and cups that had been put away. The king size bed was a little misshapen with kind of a hump in the middle due to the foam material and probably years of use. We found it a little warm to sleep on, but not all that bad. The house was missing additional blankets for the pull out sofas, but then Port A Escapes brought some by. We enjoyed the location of this house, although it would have been nicer to be closer to the boardwalk. We ended up just getting a beach parking pass and drove to a nice spot where we could have some space between us and others on the beach. Overall a good experience. "

"Family Vacation
Overall the stay was great. The house would get a little warm during the day even with the AC turned down. Since the AC has to be turned to 80 when a guest leaves, it took a while for the house to cool down once we arrived. Other than that the house was great. We had a nice family vacation."

We enjoyed our stay. Everything we needed was right there in the the house. The pool was a 1 minute walk next door and the beach was an easy 5 minute walk from the house. The house is very comfortable and cared for with everything you could need. The only thing that we didn’t enjoy was the mosquitoes after any rain are everywhere. However we we warned in advance and brought plenty of bug spray. All and all we had a great stay in Lost Colony"

"Decent stay
Advice is to read carefully in the description box. I thought there'll be a washer & dryer (saw in the posted photo) but they're not "advertised". Also,someone might drop by unannounce to do maintenance. I was completely surprised to see Sharon just show up to change the air filter. Don't forget to bring mosquitoes spray, due to rain, the mosquitoes are everywhere- except for the beach!"

"Great stay!
Our stay was great! The two things I would suggest to make our stay a little better is having a earlier check in. 4 is a little late and it's extremely over priced to check In early. The other suggestion is to have a few more trash bags available; I think there was 2 in the house , we brought some but it would have been. Nice to have a few more when cleaning the house for check out. This is the second year we've stayed here and will continue to next year ! "

"Should be more of a hotel stay
Room was so hot when we arrived. Took awhile to cool down. The location was great. Would prefer to stay at a hotel, didn't like that we had to throw trash,wash dishes,and still be out by 11. It doesn't make for a relaxing morning on your way back home. We go down there every year but we will most likely stay some where else. "

"Cost to much for what we received
The house was just OK - however I would not recommend it. For the amount I paid, I was expecting more. The Master Bedroom smelled very bad (Body-odor plus other yucky smells) it also had cob-webs in corners and the carpet on the stairs and in the bedroom were dirty and generally gross.
The deck was scary, old and rickety, did not feel comfortable with my kids on it. The gate was broken getting on to the deck from the stairs. The downstairs game room is not accessible from the upstairs. We opened the door and it again smelled bad so we did not use.
My recommendation - Find another place. It is currently for sale - the place needs help."

"Cute place
The place is cute and was nice for our family. We chose to get a cabin so the kids could play outside, but the mosquitos were so intense, we had to use spray just to go from the door to the vehicle. The TV and dishwasher broke, which management sent someone several hours later. Then, the first night we had huge roaches crawling on us and throughout the house. Management sent someone to spray, but we had to stay elsewhere the following two nights to avoid bugs crawling on us. It was also concerning when maintenance came, he explained the mosquito's have been a problem for years, but not something PAE told us about. The problem is so significant we were never able to go outside and enjoy the area. We rent in Port A several times a year and will never be back to this subdivision again! I also left a message upon check out to speak with someone, and never received a call, only a measly $100 refund for a $1300+ bill. "
