We have stayed at Breakers many times and this unit was by far the worst condition of any we have seen. The deck is rotting in spots, the deck door is too heavy to open without major effort, the AC worked only marginally well and the entire condo smells like a damp basement. We had to wash everything when we got home because the smell was in all of our clothes. This unit has strange wiring run to the TVs where they have used two permanent extension cords which should be considered a fire hazard. One of the outlets didn’t work at all. This unit needs some work if the owners expect to continue collecting such a premium rental charge."

"Disappointed
Lovely area. Condo needs tremendous updating. The couch was worn out, the balcony floor needed replacing, the mattress was incredibly uncomfortable, the bathroom needed to be fully replaced, the door from outside had no security or deadbolt so we didn't feel secure in leaving our personal items inside. Tge location was great. We stayed at Breakers last year in a different condo for same price. Like night and day difference. That condo was incredible and had updates, comfortable mattress, nice couch, nice balcony. "

"Great stay
We had a great stay. My only complaint is I wish you got more "necessities" with the stay. We only got one small toliet paper roll, one garbage bag, one small paper towel roll, one doshwasher load. Nothing for washer and dryer etc. I didn't realize we wouldnt have enough for the week (two adults, two small children) I will know next year to pack my own and it would be no big deal. Great location and great pool area. Overall it was wonderful."

"Surprisingly nice
Everything was good, as always bed not this most comfortable:) The sliding door to deck was really hard to open and close! The view made it worthwhile, would recommend it!"

"March in Hilton Head
Needed a break from the northern winter. Sea Turtle was just the ticket. Perfect size and location for us. Close to activities and restaurants we enjoy. On the beach so lots of walking the beach early morning through the lovely sunsets. The pool offered a quiet place to read and get some sun. Highly recommend for a short visit to the coast."

"unsafe an unsanitary
my condo was unkept and unsafe, the cable cord was laying on the ground right in the walk away of our door and was a tripping hazard all week (and we have 2 little ones). The whole place dirty and bathroom was disgusting! No blankets or sheets were provided! "

"219 Breakers
Condo was very small but enough for two people. Couch was the only furniture in living area and it was very old and uncomfortable. Bed was also uncomfortable needs replacement of mattress. No hooks in bathroom. Handrails in the building were in serious need of cleaning. Pool area was great and location to shopping/dining and beach were great."

"Breakers get-a-way
First I must say that the people at Sea Turtle are great . T he room at the Breakers was ok but not up to par with other Breaker units that we have stayed in the past. Would give it a three on cleanliness. My wife actually cleaned the tub before we used it . There was exposed wiring at the tvs which was not a problem for us but not kid friendly. The deck seemed like it needed a new floor, did not seem real stable."

"Beware of bike theft
We had 2 bikes stolen the first night we were there-$1500 worth! We had them locked with a cable lock in the designated bike area. The police stated bike theft was a big problem around coligny plaza. If there was a sign warning us we would have taken them to our room.
Also,The unit has a sliding door onto the porch which cannot be shut fully or it will lock and you will be locked out of your rental, stuck on the porch with no other way out. No key works in the lock. "

"Past due great beach week!
Had an overall great time. Rental was within walking distance of several wonderful restaurants, shops and grocery store. Beach view and access to beach was great. Condo met our needs for the week. "

Condo was very clean & just steps away from the pool and ocean. Restaurants and shops are just across the street. Only negative was there was no linens for the pull out couch bed, but other than that will definitely stay here again. Selina & all the staff were very friendly & helpful. "

"Great Stay at 219
We love the Breakers and have stayed in several condos there. Fantastic location, restaurants and ice cream, shops, grocery to walk to. This condo was very well maintained and outfitted and attractive. Everything worked, clean, comfy bed, even a fast draining tub. Chairs on balcony tall enough to see over rail. Balcony shaded mid-afternoon on. A Keurig coffeemaker would be a plus. HOA needs to replace boards on balcony. Getting second elevator working would be a plus too. Unlocking door by code instead of key would be nice. "

"Hilton head getaway
Located right on the beach so short walk to the ocean. Very nice pool. Also close to numerous restaurants. We had a problem with the tv and Selena from sea turtle getaways was there within minutes of our call and resolved the issue by replacing the tv. "

"Rest stay!

"Love the Breakers complex but the unit needs to be cleaned
Have stayed at Breakers in other units and been happy but this unit leaves much to be desired. It needs to be cleaned, they should just provide linens for the pull out couch and not try to charge you extra. Also, needs electrical work on outlets. Do not like having to pick up and drop off keys when they could easily purchase a lockbox for the door, unnecessary steps and time spent on the road."

"Very disappointed
Let me start off by saying my husband and I have visited Hilton Head for years and we ALWAYS stay at the breakers because it is like our second home. This is the first time we’ve use this company for rental. And my husband and I couldn’t be more disappointed, we arrive on the island at noon and we know that check in is normally at 4 but at times we’ve been able to get into the condos earlier depending on when the other family leaves. I spoke with the person at sea turtles, and she assured me that the clearers are taking extra precautions due to the corna virus and South Carolina being considered a “hot spot” she stated the cleaning staff are cleaning more than ever and on top of this someone from sea turtles sends an inspector to wipe down highly touched surfaces again. I was shocked and impressed by the amount of attention they paid to the health of their guest. Until I got the keys at 4 on the nose, then my husband and I get completely unpacked and place our one year old son onto the floor to crawl around because he has been stuck in the car all day... then the cleaners show up at 5:15! And tell us they’ve never cleaned the condo and asked us to leave.... after my son has crawled around touched everything! When I call seaturtles they say wel let them in and go play at the pool!?!?! I will never recommend this company. "

"We had a fun stay! Great place for those on a budget.
First time to HHI. This place is near everything. Loved having the plaza with shops and restaurants literally across the street. Our only gripe with Breakers 219 would be cleanliness, they should really look into a better cleaning service. The floors were so dirty that our 1-year-olds knees and tops of feet were black from crawling around within the first few minutes of arriving. Only two sets of towels provided and no beach towels. Other than that we had a great time!"

"Beautiful location, excellent service
My husband and I stayed for a week at Breakers 219, and loved it. The unit was the perfect size for a couple, and the view from the unit was spectacular, looking over both the pool and the beach. Any problems that occurred during the week (e.g., bathroom door handle got stuck, couldn't get one of the two TVs to work) were promptly attended to by the rental agency's service company, usually within an hour. We didn't have to stay in the unit to wait for the service (they had a key), so we didn't waste any vacation time. We met the repair person one time as we returned to the unit; he was polite and professional, and apologized that we had run into any problems in the first place. The pool was attended to every morning by a very cheerful pool attendant, who sang as they worked. Chairs were returned to their original position every day. We would definitely return to Breakers and, if possible, to this unit. "

"Wonderful vacation!
The location was great! All the shops and restaurants within walking distances. The condo was fine. Very nicely decorated and ample supplies. It needs a little updating. The bathtub was springy, like it was going to go through to the first floor! The stove needs repaired or updating one eye did not work. Other than that it was great. We had a great time and we would stay in the same condo again!"

"Close to shops
Place was relaxing and comfortable. The only thing, and this may be agency or cleaning personnel. Upon leaving, as any rental, they want dishes clean, trash, etc. This one didn't have a complimentary bag or powder to do so with. That would be where a improvement can be done! "

"So Dirty, but cute decor!
The condo has so much potential to be the best one at the Breakers. It is decorated so very cute. However it is not clean at all. Nasty even. The walls were gross and the floors dirty. Sea Turtle rentals folks were very unprofessional and not helpful at all. Great location and the pool was heated. "

We were very pleased with the location of this condo, but we're extremely disappointed in the way the condo was advertised to us. The condo is advertised to sleep 4 people, but necessities (bath towels, bed linens, etc.) were only provided for 2 people or an extra fee to be provided more. We were not told about the extra fee upfront and we're confused to why the condo would be advertised as a 4 sleeper if we were to pay EXTRA to comfortably sleep 4."

"Perfect room at the Breakers
Overall this place is perfect. You are on the second floor overlooking both the pool and the ocean. The bed is comfortable and the room is updated. The only NEGATIVE I can say about this place is that you still have to use a key. I have stayed at the breakers for four years now and this is the only room that does not use a electronic pass lock. The lock itself is getting older so if the company updates that then it would be one of the best rooms available. "

"Okay location, Dirty Unit
We loved the location but the unit was not clean and the kitchen description was not accurate. The kitchen utensils and dishes were not clean. There was not an oven (even though the website stated that the unit had a fully equipped kitchen). The bathroom was not very clean. All the walls were extremely dirty and covered with dust. The air filter had not been changed in months which we had to end up changing ourselves. For the price that we paid I expected something much nicer (especially after the pictures looked so nice). We were very disappointed with the cleanliness of the unit as well as the lack of oven in the kitchen. "

"We love The Breakers
We are repeat visitors to the Breakers but this was our first time renting through Sea Turtle Getaways. They were very responsive and lovely to work with. I will highly recommend them. Easy key pick up and return. The bed was comfortable, sofa too. Nice TV's, lots of extras were found in the kitchen. The owners have done a nice job in the condo. My only complaint is the cleanliness of the unit. The walls in the bathroom and hallway were covered in dust. I realized that the dryer vent had not been cleaned for some time. I emptied the screen and ended up clearing lumps of dryer lint from inside the unit itself. Not a big deal but a pretty big fire hazard. The kitchen was very well stocked but I had to hand wash EVERY single plate, cup, fork before we could use them. There was still food and grime on everything. Maybe the dishwasher wasn't doing its job, but the housekeeping staff should not have put away dirty dishes. I hand washed during our week as the inside of the dishwasher was pretty gross as well. We had a wonderful week at the beach and I am sure we will stay at the Breakers again. We will use Sea Turtle Getaways again. I would just recommend letting the housekeepers know about their oversights or hiring a new team. "

"Not happy
I rented condo 219 at Breakers in anticipation of a nice relaxing vacation. When I rented the condo no one told me that 319 (right above me) was under renovation. Had this been disclosed, I would have opted for another condo. On average they worked until 10:30 pm; some night until 1:30am. I thought several times they were coming through the ceiling; the noise was deafening. I complained about the noise so late into the night and there was no resolution. It continued night after night.
Additionally, my internet was out for three days. The owner provided no satisfaction or resolution. Finally I called the real-estate office and they came over and resolved the issue.
It became very evident that the association and the owner were only concerned about taking my money and were not concerned about the conditions they provided for me to stay in. I got ripped off and I have no intentions of coming back. I have a better way to spend my hard earned money."
