Tourmaline is a lovely property, beautifully situated. Our only suggestion would be to upgrade the glasses (no wine glasses) and frying pans. The property manager was very quick to respond when there was a water problem and actually upgraded the system."

"Great stay at Toutmaline!
Two couples, who’ve visited Eleuthera multiple times, found Tourmaline, with its master suites on each floor, the perfect set up for our needs. House was clean and well appointed and when, the most difficult decision you make each day is beach or pool, life is good. First time booking through Eleuthera Vacation Rentals and couldn’t have been more pleased with the responsiveness and service both before and during trip. Pam was great before and Tennielle quickly addressed and resolved any issues that arose during our stay. The homemade lasagna from the owners upon arrival was greatly appreciated. Recommendations: Cocojo for pre batched cocktails and mocktails; Ralvin at Awesome Adventure Tours for dune buggy access to Lighthouse Point; Frigate’s new location in Governor’s Harbour!"

"Great Trip
Our family of five had a wonderful week long stay at Tourmaline. The house was very nice with a large kitchen and plenty of space for us. One of the bedrooms is a little small with a bunk bed so best for kids, but the other two bedrooms are very large and roomy. Bathrooms are also large and really nice. The water pressure is low but that is true on the whole island apparently. The beach was beautiful and very private, and the water was spectacular! The pool was nice but it is not heated just so you know. The driveway is long and needs repair (as do many driveways on Eleuthera), so be ready for it - many potholes and big puddles throughout. The location is really good - close to Governor's Harbor with many restaurants, a market and some shops. Highly recommend this house for rental."

"Tourmaline - beautiful getaway
We stayed for 2 weeks at the beginning of December 2023. This is a very clean and exceptionally private property. You can leave the windows open at night and listen to the waves crashing against the shore. The grounds keeper and pool cleaners came a couple of times a week - they honk the car horn before walking around to do their tasks. The weather was a bit inclement (rain and high winds) making the beach unusable, but when the weather was good - the sand is powdery soft with pink visible in the grains. There are reefs "bommies" offshore which are about 8-15ft in depth. Lots of fish including barracuda and stingrays (and some very elusive lobster). The internet worked intermittently, moving the router (it uses LTE from a cell provider) to the upstairs master bedroom improved reception. On the days with bad weather, the WIFI was unstable - and the power went out multiple times (but only for a couple of minutes max). As a backup - use your cell phone for internet, which worked flawlessly. Bring along a couple of headlamps (and maybe a string of LED lights) for the pool area. It is dark there at night, and the bar-b-que is there. There are no overhead lights at the pool (other than the lights in the pool and some limited landscape lights). Beware of the bugs. No-see-ums were horrible, not just at the property but all over the island. We used repellent yet still wound up with hundreds of itchy welts. Take Benadryl tablets and spray, and repellent with at least 40% deet. The wind will keep them down a bit, but anywhere there is shelter the bugs will get you. Also be aware that Governor's Harbour airport security (when leaving) will confiscate all your unused aerosol cans. We lost 6 new cans of Coppertone, plus deodorant and insect repellent. I suspected this was a scam - we went through security in Nassau and there was no problem. If your aerosol cans have the "explosive" or "flammable" WHIMIS labels (they all do), don't expect to leave Eleuthera with them. "

"Second Honeymoon
We stayed at Tourmaline for our second honeymoon. The house was in great condition. Everything was very clean and the house itself was equipped with everything we needed. After a long travel time with delays and cancelations we finally made it to the house and Tennille the housekeeper left a home cooked meal for us to eat. That was HIGHLY appreciated! Thank you Tennille! The pool was very nice and clean. The walk to the beach is easy down but it little harder to get back ( you have to hike the hill back up) but we knew that before. A family could stay easily at the house. Overall we would recommend the house to friends. We had a lovely stay"

"Vacation paradise
Our experience renting Tourmaline through Eleuthera Vacation Rentals was excellent. Pam was wonderful to work with from the very beginning. She is very responsive.
The house was perfect for us. Everything you need is there, beach towels, beach chairs, dish soap, paper towels, toilet paper, garbage bags, and more. This is such a help when traveling. There are plenty of pots & pans, dishes, glasses, coffee maker. There is a washer & dryer, again a nice addition. The house was clean and ready for us when we arrived. Tenielle, who is in the area, is a phone call away. She sent us a text to just check in to be sure we didn’t need anything. The lasagna on arrival day is a welcome touch after traveling all day.
The views from the house are spectacular. There is a covered patio in case you want to get out of the sun. We loved to sit there in the morning for coffee. The pool is just across the yard with plenty of deck space.
The path to the beach can be a little steep but very manageable. Anyone with mobility issues might want to keep this in mind.
We would definitely return again. "

The review title says it all. This cozy home grows on you every day during your stay. I have been to Eleuthera 6 times over the last 12 months, and this property did not disappoint. Located within a short drive to restaurants, Governors Harbour, and just 100 yards from the beach, this place provides all you need for a short or an extended stay. Excellent appliances, a fantastic pool, and a nice breeze every day will make your stay in this beautiful home an unforgettable experience."

"Stunning Amazing
The pictures dont do this place justice! We were blown away by the beauty of the extremely clean and well done up house. My family of 6 had plenty of room and the beach was very private. The pool was the focal point for the younger ones and we all had a blast. Tennille was very responsive and amazing with the little that we actually needed which had nothing to do with the house. The veggie lasagna that was waiting for us upon arrival was a big hit. We hope to be back next year if the house is available. Thank You Tennille!!"

"Tourmaline
My wife and I stayed at Tourmaline the last week of October. The management company was very organized and answered questions before we departed for the trip. They were also available quickly when we had an issue at the house mid week. The house is in great condition. It is very clean, the pool area is excellent and private, and the beach is beautiful and almost always empty (literally no other humans to be found). Only downside are the biting bugs. We both left with a lot of bug bites despite our best efforts with Deet."

"Paradise
This was our 3rd time to visit Eleuthera. These are things we loved best about this house: thoughtfulness (lasagna), Tennielle’s attention to detail, landscaping, sandy ocean entrance, pool, views, A/C power, and privacy. The path down/up to the beach was kind of difficult but a beautiful view/walk. I do wish that we would have known that the beach path and steps were shared with another house, though. Still, in our 11 days, we only encountered people on the beach 3x, and those encounters were extremely limited. There are a few step-downs inside the house that may be difficult for people. Also, in the pictures, it looks like the pool is attached to the house, but you have to walk through the yard to get to it. A stone path would be helpful. That being said, it doesn’t detract from the pool’s allure! The additional outdoor showers, composite decking, night lights, shading/seating, butterfly landscaping, view, and everything else is perfect! We also really appreciated that shampoo and shower gel, coffee, and toilet paper were supplied. One thing to consider when gifting the lasagna and wine is whether or not people drink alcohol. My husband and I have been sober for several years, and while we weren’t tempted, we still would have preferred not to have it in the house. We plan to come back again next year and are hoping that the house will be available! The people in Eleuthera are so warm, and that is true for everyone you will deal with when reserving Tourmaline. Thank you for an incredible experience!!"

"Wonderful Anniversary Vacation
We had a wonderful visit to the island of Eleuthera. Tourmaline was every bit as perfect as described in the description. Tennielle was very easy to get on the phone whenever we had a question or a problem she was there to resolve it. This home is well appointed, was very clean, and had everything we needed. The pool was fantastic. A two minute walk down to the beach and we were generally the only ones there. Beautiful snorkeling is literally steps away. There are two local restaurants that are close and fantastic. Tippy’s and Buccaneers. We took one trip to the north island to visit Harbor Island. That was nice but for us we were content to stay at the home, sit on the beach, enjoy the view and the water, and read several books during the week. We would highly recommend this home and hope to be back again soon."

"A beautiful place to be!
The house was perfect for my family. Very well appointed, clean, and well taken care of. The view is gorgeous and the pool was very nice as well. We were unlucky with our timing on the chilly weather and seaweed on the beach, but the house was exactly as it should be and with warmer weather and a clean beach I'm sure it's just the perfect spot!"

"A True Gem
Our family of 3 loved the house. The location was perfect and the beach might be my favorite on the island. The path and stair down to the beach were a breeze for my 2 year old. The house was very clean and well maintained. The lovely solar heated pool was frigid in early March which was devastating to our toddler. We would definitely stay here again, perhaps later in the season. "

"Great location in Eleuthera !
The house was beautiful and the beach was the most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen. It was just so gorgeous. And no one in site. Communication was great with management. Place was clean and had everything you would need. If your going to Eleuthera, this is the place to stay. Packs snacks and coffee to save money. Carry alcohol on the plane from the Nassau airport. And make sure you eat at Tippys , the Buccaneers Club, and go dancing in the streets at the Friday night fish fry. Food is not great but the music and limbo is a hoot ! We hired Captain Kidd for our boat ride to the swimming pigs and other activities and he was fabulous! Find him on Trip Advisors. His prices were reasonable and we saw dolphin, tropical fish and manatees (a total surprise even for him!). December isn’t the warmest month to go, so if you are looking for hot weather wait until spring or summer. "

"Relaxing and comfortable stay
Tourmaline stay was perfect, venue is central and right for relaxation. The house is stocked with all you need for cooking and enjoy8ng your stay. The pool area is relaxing and wind protected , and the beach deserted, with beautiful sand and good for walks .
Comfortable beds and rooms for 4 adults. The few times we contacted housekeeper they came quickly and sorted out any problems.

"Heaven
I wish I could say this was the worst place I have ever been - that may keep others away! But this place, Tourmaline, was a small piece of heaven on earth. My wife and I arrived and found ourselves overwhelmed by the cleanliness of the house and well maintained grounds but also of the beauty of such a place. Everything, absolutely everything, was wonderful and, if her health holds, we will be back in two years for two weeks -- again, we start counting the days..........

"Absolutely Stunning!!!
My husband and I were lucky enough to enjoy a week in July at this amazing property. The house was clean and close to town, although a little difficult to find the first time in. The little sign for the house is not facing the road from both directions. There are some starter items in the home such as soap, shampoo, toilet paper, etc. The caretaker, Perry, was very informative and friendly. If you need anything during your stay, he goes the extra mile. His wife had made a vegetarian lasagna and left it for our first night along with a bottle of wine. It was really appreciated after a long day of travel. The beach in front of the house is breathtaking and was pretty private. We only saw one other couple two days of our stay. There is a path down to the beach, but is a fairly good climb back up although this is why there are such amazing views from the house. There is some construction going on close to the house so the privacy fence by the saltwater pool is nice to have. We enjoyed the area around the house so much that we never left the property other than to go to the store. If you are looking to rent a vehicle, I would suggest that you do not rent from Taylor and Taylor Rent-A-Car. We have still not received our $100 refundable deposit despite several emails. This was suppose to have been refunded within 24-48 hours and we arrived back home on July 28. When asked if we would go back, we always say absolutely!"

"Magical
Our stay at Tourmaline on Eluthera was magical. I don't think we passed more than 2 people on the beach the whole week. It is one of the most beautiful locations we've ever visited. All of the pre travel arrangements and communications were timely and friendly. Perry made sure our accommodations were inviting upon arrival and Ted and Sylvia were gracious hosts all week long. We can't wait to come again. "

"Truly unique and wonderful
My family (wife, 8 yr old, 5 yr old, infant and their grandmother) and I had an amazing time at Tourmaline. Hard to know where to start, but suffice to say, it's obvious a great deal of thought has gone into making the property well-suited for vacationers, and it is. Perry was wonderful. Would recommend Ten Bay Beach, especially for children. Restaurants we'd recommend: Buccaneer, 1648, Tippy's and Fishbone (in Savannah Sound). Bacchus had the best wine selection we found, as well as good cheeses, etc. Kris (owner of Buccaneer) rented us a kayak and paddleboard, and was very easy to work w/. If you go south/east on the beach maybe 150-200 yards, there is a stretch that has no rocks and is a good area for kids to play. We snorkeled a good bit in that area and the kids were blown away. Overall, we feel in love w/ the island and Tourmaline, and we hope to return soon.

"Perfection
We absolutely loved our stay at Tourmaline. Not only did we have to force ourselves to leave at the end of the week when our stay was up, but we had to force ourselves to leave during the week because the villa was so great. We spent hours at the pool, beach, and on the deck watching the ocean turn infinite colors of blue throughout the day.
The house is great, location is great, and I really don't think we could have picked a better place to stay. Everything was perfect. Highly recommend, would go again in a heartbeat.... But for two weeks next time!"

"Wonderful!!!
We had a wonderful stay at Tourmaline! The house is very comfortable. The pool is amazing- we were in the pool almost everyday. The beach below the house is breathtaking, and deserted (perfect!!) It is a bit of a hike back up, but well worth it. Perry the caretaker was very nice and helpful. The house was very clean and well stocked. Everything about this house was perfect- if I could give it more stars, I would. "

"Beautiful Place amazing beach and pool
Lovely home lovely pool lovely beach the beach was one of the best anywhere in the world. The walk to the beach was tough though as the uphill on the way back was very hard for my father who has flat feet so a path down and a golf cart wouldve been the greatest thing since they added the wonderful pool. If they could find a way to cart up and down then it wouldve been incredible addition to the home. The views were amazing and the people were great. Eleuthera is a magical island and this home truely was special."

"Beautiful Home
We have rented many homes in both the states and the Caribbean. My husband and I agree that Tourmaline was our favorite. The location was beyond beautiful. The beach below the house was amazing. It was wide and clean with crystal blue water. We saw a handful of people on it during our stay. We loved the pool it was huge! The landscaping was obviously something that they put a lot of thought to. I am a garden fanatic and I was very impressed. One small thing which I loved was the clothes line for wet bathing suits and the outdoor shower to rinse off the sand. I would not change a thing about Tourmaline, it was perfect. "

"Tourmaline Paradise
The property was exactly as anticipated - clean, centrally located, close to the beach (a short hike, but great exercise!). We arrived early and the housekeepers were exceptionally accommodating and friendly. We really couldn't have asked for more. The unadvertised lasagna and wine was a pleasant surprise. We have no complaints or suggestions for improvement.
Communication with property management throughout the process was easy and concise."

"A Great Choice
Tourmaline is modern thus no mice, the screens are in good condition, everything works, and there is a new pool. The view is incredible. Perched on the top of the bluff, bug problems are at a minimum although on still nights you have to be careful. The beach is beautiful and interesting. It goes for about a mile. after you go around the southern coral point, there is another two miles of pink sand beach. Reefs are close to shore and go out for a half a mile or more, so great for snorkeling. The caretaker, Perry, is responsive and friendly. He is a retired contractor. Tourmaline even allows pets, one of the few places that do. Enjoy. "

"Vacation in Paradise
This house is wonderful and sits in a location that is beyond compare. Sitting on a dramatic cliff overlooking the beach, the views are unbeatable. We walked the mile-long beach daily, and didn't see another person on most days. The beach is silky smooth and the water crystal clear. Each night we fell asleep and awoke to the soothing sounds of the surf. The house was immaculate, comfortable and well furnished."

"Secluded luxury!!!
This home is absolutely beautiful. The house is well-equipped. It's location is perfect and the views are stunning. The pool is wonderful. The whole property is very private. It felt like we were alone on the beach most days. We felt safe, relaxed and completely comfortable on the island and at Tourmaline. The caretaker, Mr. Perry, was very helpful. In fact, everyone on the island was cordial and helpful. The pics of the property and pink sand beach haven't been electronically embellished however they still don't quite do it justice. I would recommend this property to anyone. If you have limited mobility the walk down to the beach could be a challenge but well worth the effort.
We like to visit new destinations every year but I now have this location on the top of my list for a return trip.
P.S. Be prepared for the plane ride over from Nassau!! It is an adventure!"

"Tourmaline stay
We loved the house and its location. The house is very pretty, the views are amazing, the swimming pool a great plus and the empty beach was beautiful, probably one if not the best we have visited around the world, especially since we had 3 small children in the group and it was very safe for them to play and swim. At low tide there were these natural pools provided by part of the rocks, and it was great for our 4, 2 and 1 year olds. The location of the house is perfect, not only for its views but also to explore Eleuthera, since it is close to Governors Harbour and so it is in the mid point in te island."

"Tourmaline Dream
We had the most amazing vacation in Eleuthera but the highlight of the trip was this amazing property. It was my husband and I with our two boys 4 and 7 years old. We instantly relaxed walking in on day one. The views from the huge windows of the gorgeous ocean are remarkable. We loved the property with the elevated pool overlooking the ocean, the hike down to the incredibly spectacular beach and the comfortable and very functional house. There isn't a single thing we would change about our stay at Tourmaline and we are really hoping we can come back again soon. "

"Hilltop Paradise
This property is absolutely fantastic. The views from the house are nothing short of stellar. The interior is tastefully decorated and the appliances are all top notch. The pool area is still under a bit of construction, but was a great addition and when completed will really round the place out. My only complaint would be that although the property sits on 10+ acres, there was construction going on next to the pool area. A bulldozer running 25 yards from where you're swimming is a bit disruptive, but the ocean breeze helped dull it down. It appears a privacy fence is in the works so do not let that deter you! This place is as close to "the total package" as you can get without breaking the bank! "
