This lower unit on the boardwalk has a terrific patio and tile floors & counters throughout for easy summer living as well as central air. A two-block jaunt to the Balboa Island ferry and a short stroll to the Balboa Pier and neighboring shops, eateries and activities, makes exploring the entire area a snap!


The living area has a queen sleeper sofa, loveseat, café table with chairs, fireplace and flat panel TV. And did we mention lots of glass to enjoy the ocean and beach views all day long? The dining table has four chairs and a nearby bench, plus four barstools at the large kitchen counter for casual noshing. With updated appliances and wrap-around counters, the kitchen has everything essential for whipping up family favorites - except for a chef and groceries!


The home has three bedrooms, including a master suite with king bed, en-suite bath with shower and sliding glass doors leading onto a small private patio. Even though the unit has air conditioning, the beach experience is all about welcoming in cool ocean breezes! The middle bedroom has two twin beds, the third bedroom has a queen bed. The spacious hall bath has a tub/shower combination.

The rental has wonderful outdoor space – the roomy patio sits right on the boardwalk for great people-watching and easy access to everything in the area. A BBQ, table and chairs and firepit with chairs lend to your comfort and relaxation.

A washer and dryer are located in the garage, with one parking space for this unit.


The home is situated a hop, skip and a jump from the Balboa Pier, Balboa Pavilion and surrounding boutiques and eateries. Ruby's Diner serves up burgers and salads at the pier’s end, where fishermen ply their trade and dolphins are frequently seen playing. Kids of all ages will love the playground at the base of the pier with an open, grassy lawn for running and playing games. Balboa Village offers dozens of dining options - Mint Leaf and Great Mex are casual local hangouts, BJs Pizza and Cruisers are known for pizza, and Newport Landing and Harborside have terrific happy hour specials every day of the week in the Saloon, plus fresh fish and beautiful harbor views from their dining rooms. Try a Balboa Bar or frozen banana at a kiosk. Deep sea fishing, whale watching excursions and day trips to Catalina can be booked at the 113 year old Balboa Pavilion. Jump on the ferry to Balboa Island via bicycle or on foot to stroll among more coastal-chic shops and cafes.

A refund will be issued if the property is re-rented minus a 15% cancellation fee of the total rental rate. We loved staying in a beach house right with direct ocean access with a great location. The house itself was rather dated and a little beat up but it IS a vacation rental beach house. The outdoor patio with seating for 8, grill and fire pit got a lot of use. However, both propane tank (grill & fire pit) ran out of gas during our week long stay. These should be PROACTIVELY checked & replaced periodically to avoid the inconvenience. That said, the Burr-White staff were very friendly and helpful and addressed issues promptly."

"Oceanfront Rentals
Every year my family and I come out to the beach and rent a beach house for a week. This year, we rented a duplex (upper and lower unit). Overall our experience was pretty good. The location was good, close to shops and the pier. Easy to rent bikes for the kids or grab a sweet treats at one of the ice cream shops. The house however could definitely use some improvements. We had to have maintenance come out several times during our stay. Leaking toilet, light issues and also had a gas smell coming from an outside fixture on the patio. The kitchen did not have one complete set of anything. Random cups and glassware that has been collected through out the years, the silverware only had about 4 forks. Not even one frying pan or a decent pot to cook with. For as much as these units rent out for, you would think the ownership could invest for a cheap complete set for the kitchenware. You can tell people have left things through the years and everything was randomly placed everywhere, very disorganized. When you arrive you will find clean sheets in which you will make the beds yourself, however we questioned when the actual comforters are washed being there were some stains. At check out you are told to take off all sheets and pillow cases but leave the comforters on the beds. I believe these should also be washed. Overall the location is the selling point, the garage was great for parking, however this place would be great with some improvements especially for the price you pay. "

"It's all about that location!
The location was absolutely perfect! The price was a bit bight for the home but the ocean breeze and sunsets justified paying the money. We may look for a bit higher quality home in the future for the same price or even lower.
The beds were uncomfortable so we left a night early. The patio did not have a working light which was unfortunate. The fire pit was great though! Fans would be great if they were available in the rental, as well as a blow dryer and some shampoo, etc. The cleaning fee seems high with all the check out work we did as a renter- not much left for the cleaners to do. Overall it was fantastic but overpriced for the quality. "

"Met our needs
IT was perfectly fone fpr what we needed. One regret is that the windows in the twin bedroom and the master did not open, and with no AC, those rooms were almost intolerably hot for sleeping. "

"Great place with front and side views
Great place! We like the place and its views, good sized rooms.
However, it would be great if these little things could be improved:
-Upon arrival, we weren't aware that the propane tank of the barbeque was empty. So it took us a couple of phone calls and some time to wait to get it replaced.
-We love children. But the unit above us, a nice looking family with mom dad and children (little ones also), seemed not to pay attention on the noise we endured: dragging chairs and furniture, children running, etc. We did not talk to them about the noise, because we did not mind it that much.
-Most dinner table chairs just sank all the way down, not adjustable.
-It would be more convenient in the kitchen if there were different sizes of containers to store the food in the fridge.
-Also, the spray head of the outside hose was broken, it sprayed everywhere.
Overall, nice place. We would return."

"Great Beachfron Property
I rented this property for a reunion and it exceeded our expectations! The location had a stunning view of the beach and was very walkable to nearby coffee shops and the Balboa Pier. The realty office was very welcoming and made sure we felt at home. Our one gripe was that the outside patio lights were not working, but we were also told that we were one of the first renters using this property and that there were still improvements to come on the home. Overall, we loved this property, it's location, and renting from Burr White!"
