Florida - Beach Information - Fun Things to Do - Tips

Where are the best beaches in Florida? The most popular vacation spots are: Panama City Beach, Fort Walton Beach, and Miramar Beach! With 825 miles of beaches to choose from, come to enjoy the relaxing waters, stunning sunrises and sunsets and sand that is powdery smooth and filled with seashells to collect. For sure, Florida beaches are among the best beaches in the world, always in the top rankings of international travel publications and on beach expert lists.
How do you rent a vacation beach house? Hotel rooms are nice, but there's nothing quite like renting a beach house with your family and friends. Beach House vacation rentals give you more privacy than a hotel, enough space for your entire family, and that special feeling like a private, peaceful home away from home. Here are some tips to help you find an amazing beach rental.

Florida Beach Vacation Fishing
Know when you want to go. Have your dates picked out before you start researching. Beach rentals are in high demand and when you start searching, it is likely that more than half of what you see is already booked. Knowing when you are going will help you narrow down the choices and save you a lot of time. Keep in mind that most houses rent 7 or 14 days at a time, Saturday to Saturday, with some doing a Sunday checkin. Condos are more flexible.

Choose a Destination. Here on BeachHouse, you can search statewide using our helpful SEARCH BY DATE page, which has a map showing you where all the cities are that have available options for your dates. There are lots of ways to filter the search results, such as Sleep #, Bedroom #, Type, Pet Friendly, Waterfront, etc. This page is very time saving and helpful for you to find those not-so-well-known gems so you can avoid the big crowds.

Make a Nice-To-Have Checklist but don't get too hung up on it. Yes it might be great to bring your fur baby along, but very few rentals allow pets - only 10-15%, so that will greatly reduce your options if bringing your pet is a necessity. Must your beach house rental have a pool? Must it be beachfront? Those 2 things together may sound ideal, but these are the kind of rentals we call "unicorns". Yes they do exist but they are rare. It is best to focus on which one of those is the most important - a pool or being beachfront. Insisting on having both of those may lead to a frustrating and empty search. Now if you are okay with a condo, beachfront rentals with pools are plentiful and easy to find.
Courtesy of ShutterstockExperience the warm beaches that millions have already come to know each year. Florida is one of the most popular states for a beach rental vacation because of its large size and abundance of exciting destinations and activities. It can be difficult to pick a house for your Florida beach rental vacation, and hard to choose between a vacation on the Emerald Coast or on the Gold Coast of Florida, so we at BeachHouse.com have compiled a list of regions and destinations for you and your family to enjoy. Florida is a big state, with one of the largest coastlines in the United States. To make decision-making easier for busy vacationers, the state is divided up into several coasts, or regions, which you can explore!

The Florida Gold Coast stretches along South Florida from Miami to Fort Lauderdale. This 100-mile stretch of Florida coast has some of the most popular beaches in the United States, like Hollywood Beach and Sunny Isles Beach, which are great destinations for a fun-filled beach vacation. If you love fine dining, perfect weather, and world-class beaches, the chic, metropolitan destinations of the Gold Coast may be for you!
The Florida Surf Coast reaches across the Halifax area of central Florida and contains the cities of Daytona and New Smyrna Beach. With some of the most popular and highest-rated beaches on the Atlantic Coast, these cities are popular destinations for vacationers looking for exciting events and thrilling attractions.
The Florida First Coast is the name given to the first part of Florida ever settled by Europeans. This region, close to Jacksonville in the North, is known for quiet, quaint beach communities with natural beauty and a mild climate.
Suncoast is the name given to the stretch of Florida coastline that reaches from the very tip of the peninsula up to Tampa Bay on the gulf side. This very popular region features hundreds of incredible destinations, from the Clearwater area to Treasure Island, Indian Rocks Beach, and St. Pete Beach. Each of these stunning destinations would be perfect for a Florida beach rental vacation!
The Emerald Coast is the name for the piece of coastline that reaches along the westernmost part of the Florida Panhandle. Named for the quartz-white sand of area beaches and the azure water that sand creates, the Emerald Coast is a beautiful, family-friendly and fun-filled region in Northwest Florida. Visit the Emerald Coast and experience locations like Destin and Fort Walton Beach which are perfect for a beach vacation.
The Florida Space Coast is the name given to the region of the Florida Coast that contains Cape Canaveral. Home to the Kennedy Space Center, the Space Coast of Florida is great for science-minded vacationers. This region is also convenient for Disney World and other Orlando attractions, which are a short 90-minute drive away.
The Forgotten Coast is a stretch of Florida Coastline virtually untouched by commercial development. Home to destinations like Port St. Joe, a small town with southern coastal charm. This stretch of the Florida Panhandle is perfect for secluded, quiet vacations without a lot of traffic or other vacationers. Visit the Forgotten Coast and learn about life on Florida's mild side.
