"Beautiful Condo and Property
The rental was beautiful with a view of the ocean, a great pool, hottub and bbq's 2 minutes away. It was very clean, comfortable, and well-equipped for cooking. Was a great experience for two couples. Would highly recommend a car as not much is within walking distance but a peaceful, beautiful location to relax and cute towns/amazing beaches within a short drive. "

"Photos of property are deceiving.
The property was okay. I wouldn't rebook it though. The bathrooms needed a complete remodel. The tub was gross, and the cabinets were in need of an update. You had a HUGE HOLE in the wall in the kitchen. Perfect for insects, or rodents to come through. I never cooked in that kitchen. "

Overall ok. The people upstairs threw all their junk on the porch in front of our door. The bath in the guest bath’s water turns hot and cold and makes it hard to shower. "

"Disappointing
We spent a good portion of the week talking to the management company about spotty wifi, TV not working, garbage disposal back-up, (only used it once) and several other more minor issues that could have been avoided with better, more detailed move-in instructions. Managers were friendly, but most answers were "try this", or "we will call maintenance", or "we are very sorry". We did not see a manager or maintenance person all week. My impression is that the owner does not want to spend any money so furnishings are sparce, appliances need up-dating (the side of the refrigerator and freezer racks appeared to be rusty), and the microwave above the stove does not work -so we used a smaller one located on the counter. The good news is that the place was clean and in a good Princeville location. Being situated next to and above the pool we were able to hear most of the pool conversations as well as the moans and heavy breathing from the unit
below. We vacated our two week reservation after the first week and moved to a more suitable and comfortable location. No refund was offered. "

"Gorgeous gardens
This lovely two bedroom condo will not only give you lush gardens and ocean views, you have everything you need to have a fabulous time in Princeville. We had smoothies every morning with the provided blinder. All your cooking needs are available. The kitchen cupboards are looking a little tired but other than that it was perfect. The hot tub wasn’t working which was a real bummer as that was one of our ‘must haves’ when traveling but the pool was equally as good. The location took us a bit to find but once you go in and out a few times you’ll find your way....lots of turns. The walking paths are fantastic and so is the peace and quiet. Overall, we are thrilled with this condo. "

"Beautiful Princeville
We loved Princeville & the location of the condo. The condo itself could definitely use a facelift. There’s a broken cabinet door in the master bath as well as under the kitchen sink.
Communication was very good all week with any questions we had."

"Also Somewhat Disappointed
Overall we were fairly satisfied with this condo unit. Nice view, comfy beds and well equipped with cookware, utensils, etc. The unit could use some updates - cabinets, paint, etc, but certainly workable. Fully equipped with beach equipment - chairs, umbrella, towels, snorkels/masks, etc.
We are definitely in agreement with the previous reviews raising the issue of hot water availability in this unit. There is literally none in the master bath and with some luck you can get a few minutes of "lukewarm" out of the "guest" shower if you keep playing with the control - and hot water out of the taps is always an iffy proposition. I fully realize there can be issues with an "on-demand" hot water system and "plumbers are very hard to get to come" but I feel that for the cost of the unit it should be a courtesy to inform renters of this issue before they come. This "amenity" was very important to my wife and her sister (with much curly hair) and I heard about it daily!
Also - make sure you clean up any food off the counters and out of the sink and hang the kitchen washcloth over the faucet (they love water) if you use it or you will have a bunch of tiny ants. I started leaving the under-cabinet light on thru the night and it seemed to keep them at bay."

"Overall, pretty nice. Afterall, Kauai is PARIDISE!
A few hiccups getting settled...
1. Dishwasher didn't work for our stay, but we were advised in advance, all good.
2. Hot water in master shower has a mind of it's own & shower door is tricky.
3. #H8 Pool is not the one you view from the deck, look left, it's in the bld group 8+ & place gate fob to sensor to open.
4. Coffee maker is a drip.
5. Circuit breaker is behind the hall picture if outlets fail.
6.The contact people are WONDERFUL, HELPFUL & PROMPT!!!
7. The Crazy roosters are beautiful,treasured to the island i'm sure-but this visit I felt they had multiplied beyond words! Therefore, if you have GOOD hearing or NO earplugs...FORGET SLEEPING IN!
8. Finally, it's evident that native Kauaian's have become quite impatient with tourists. I get it. They have to deal with MANY rude & "impatient" visitors in their HOME - but it sure made it a little less lovely :( (I don't need people honking their horns, shaking fists & heads & screaming at me...I can get that in SF or NYC!).
9. All said, it was a nice visit for me & my 92 year old Mom who just wanted to go there "1 more time!"

Unit was clean well stocked and in a very nice location. We did have a few issues. 1. The dishwasher was broken when we arrived and was beeping, they finally sent someone over and they disconnected the circuit breaker to stop the beeping, which also killed some of the outlets in one of the bedrooms. 2. In the other bedroom 1/2 of one of the outlets behind the bed stopped working. "

"Comfortable,clean and Beautiful views
Property was very clean and the kitchen had all the tools and appliances one might need. Beds were very comfortable and there were fans if one might need them. The shower plumbing was a little wonky, hard to balance the temperature, but not too bad."

"Wonderful stay
The condo is in a great location to explore all that the Northshore of Kauai has to offer. Great ocean view from the lanai.Wonderful to sit on the lanai and see whales out in the distance.
One of the 2 beach chairs in the closet was broken. The property manager happened to contact us to make sure everything was going well(and it was) and we mentioned the chair. Next day a brand new chair was outside the door. Great service!
We would definitely stay again."

"Awesome stay, really nice relaxing mellow place
This rental was quiet and comfortable and just a very relaxing and pleasant place to stay. Enjoyed the ocean view while having our morning coffee on the balcony. Convenient to all the beaches we wanted to check out, it's only a few minutes to Hanalei, and even in the rain we had a great time there. The bed is nice, comfortable. There was always parking available. Good internet. There was some rust on things like curtain rods, which is hardly surprising in the climate and certainly didn't detract from our enjoyment. Not a thing to complain about, would stay here again for sure."

"Nice stay in Princeville
We had a nice stay. There was no A/C, but luckily there was a nice breeze each afternoon to help keep the place cool and plenty of fans to use at night. The location was convenient to explore the north side of the island. Property was clean and the pool was nice. "

"Kauai is the most beautiful place on the planet!
(First, we are from Dayton, Ohio, not Cartin.)
The location of our condo is fantastic. The furnishings, while adequate, are poorly suited to the size of the unit. In particular, one of the oversized side tables was placed behind a couch, extending into the hallway, right in the way of traffic. I severely stubbed my toe on this table, and so I moved it for the rest of our stay.
The kitchen is very well supplied with cooking gear. However, the kitchen is not updated. The cabinets are old built-ins, and, the kitchen design is such that some cabinets are hard to reach. All in all, it is merely an adequate kitchen.
The bathrooms are also merely adequate, with old painted cabinetry. The mirror has some flaking on the edges. The hot water in the main bathroom flowed intermittently, coming and going. This problem did not occur in the guest bathroom.
We were happy to find some beach equipment in the closet, but the chairs provided were not of high quality.
All in all, this unit is merely adequate, and is in need of better furnishings and a complete redesign.
Also, the managers of this unit need to correct the provided literature. The WiFi password listed in both the literature given by Kauai Kahuna and in the binder in the unit is incorrect. We found the correct password in a small frame on the kitchen counter.
The managers of Alii Kai also need to do better. The gas grills are ancient and need either repair or replacement. The burners are severely rusted, and I couldn’t get all the burners lit on some of the grills. Also the hot tub was working on our first night, but the heater went out, and for the remainder of our 30-day stay, we had no hot tub.
In spite of the “merel6 adequate” condo, the location is great! We loved the views of the oceans and of the mountains from our lanai.
None of the shortcomings of the unit affected our stay. Kauai is far too beaut"

We had a great time. Our unit was beautiful and the view was spectacular. We had a little problem with a cane spider visiting but the management staff were very helpful in dealing with the (very large) visitor!!!"

"Fantastic vacation home
Location, location, location. This place is so convenience if you'd like to explore the north area beaches and trails. We had the huge advantage when the landslide forced the road closure during the workday. We can get in and out of the area easily as we literally lived next to the entrance. The unit is renovated recently and the sunset view is speechless. We highly recommend this home!"

"Wonderful and Ideal
I spent 6 months here. I couldn’t have been happier. Apartment is modern, beds are comfortable, I can’t think of anything in the apartment, kitchen or otherwise that they haven’t thought off. The gorgeous view of the mountain in the morning is accompanied with the view of the ocean on thee sides. Since the apt is on the second floor and is a corner unit it makes location superior. For a short time I stayed at the bluff building but crushing waves make it noisy to sleep whereas in this apt you hear gentle sound of wave. The bluff is 2 min walking where you can enjoy whales jumping and giant waves in the season. Turtle cove 2 min away. It’s Princeville so everything is close. Plenty of birds singing if that’s your thing. Oh, yes rainbows, plenty of rainbows - even seem a whale jump under a rainbow "

Even though this upstairs rental is in need of some updating and repairs, we enjoyed our stay in it. It has a lovely lounge area with a view across the pool to the ocean and is situated in a beautiful area with sculptured garden that are fantastically managed. The beds were comfortable and the plumbing functions well. The kitchen utensils were not great and the cupboards were very old and some musty smelt musty. Some louvre windows were difficult to close completely and appeared rusted (no doubt from the sea air). The stove and oven were super. In all we would gladly return here and recommend. "

We always stay in ALII KAI I. Bld 7 for over 20 years +, because we had friends who built it-at ground level--then my sister & bro in law bought into it. We spent 2 weeks there, before moving over to Alii Kai 11 # 8H. It had advantages that people weren't always passing by our yard & looking in the windows! It was convenient & furnishings were nice, beds comfortable! "

"Incredible Home Away from Home
The location of this cozy condo in Princeville was perfect with an amazing view to wake up to every morning and gorgeous sunsets in the evening. The kitchen was set up for easy use and the bed was very comfortable. The guide left by the rental company regarding recommended beaches and dining was much appreciated. I would highly recommend this location."

"Amazing stay!
We stayed here for almost 2 weeks and truly enjoyed the condo and area. The management team was very responsive including brining is an air mattress so our kids didn’t have to share a bed! We loved the ocean views from the Condo and that it was very quiet. We never had any noise impact from the pool which was initially a concern. Could use a fresh coat of paint in bathrooms due to humidity issues overall. We loved that there were beach chairs and umbrellas for guest use too.
We’d stay here again!!"

We were happy with the condo unit. The whole condo could use a painting inside and a better couch but was clean. Great pool/hotub/bbq area. Princeville is a beautiful area but would stay on the the south side of the island next time for a little more sunshine and warmer. Property mgmt company was the best we have ever dealt with."

"Great home away from home!
Great spacious condo in Princeville!
We enjoyed our stay a lot. Management company is very good (better than anything I have experienced over number of years), only some owners could actually match the amount of details and attention we got. (things like emails couple days before our arrival with tips and important info reminders and etc.)
I do wish beach chairs would have been provided, though.
Oh and the property has a very nice pool and BBQ area close by, way nicer than Ali Kai I."
