"Nice place at a beautiful secluded beach
Overall very pleased. Room is outdated with cosmetic problems but very clean. Listing states air conditioning but it is. Small portable units that is permanently vented to the front door. AC is inadequate for size of apartment and stayed warm. We tried opening windows at night as well and still stayed too warm. Access to the sealodge beach makes the place worth the stay. Small community with shops are near by. "

"Very Disappointed
I’m really hoping I can figure out how to forward picture I took. The place could be lovely if the owners would put a little bit of updating. Tub was not clean. Water pressure was poor. Perhaps a new hand held shower head would help. It needs a paint job. Towel had what appeared to be feces stains! One wash and it came out! We were LOCKED into the condo and had to call the emergency number to get out!! Thank goodness for Chris!! He was awesome! TV should have instructions. "

"Great place!
We enjoyed our four nights in this beautiful condo! It was just the right size for the two of us, and it was nice to have a full kitchen. We enjoyed the great view, and ate outside as much as possible. The location was close to many places we explored on the island. We would definitely recommend it! However, the owners need to get a new mattress and bed. The mattress was so extremely firm that my husband couldn't even sleep on it with me after the first night, and I tossed and turned every night since it hurt so much. The bed itself is so squeaky even with just turning. "

"Beautiful little spot
I was initially a bit hesitant after reading the reviews, but most of them just sound like spoiled, whiny people, especially after staying there. This place was great! Plenty of airflow to keep it cool, and fans to add some extra oomph. Nicely appointed and comfortable, and the lamps have all been replaced recently, a big improvement over the ones in the photos. If you expect a 5 star resort, this ain't it, but if you want a clean, comfortable place to stay that won't bankrupt you, this place is perfect. "

"Disappointed
Buyer beware, this unit was a big disappointment. In need of deep cleaning and renovation. The pool is out of order “ In definitely “, it took 3 phone calls and 4 days to get a new remote for the TV ( as it wasn’t working when we arrived- yet they were aware of the issue before we checked in).
Mold and dirt in entrance, patio and apt.
Windows need replacing.... I was surprised at hot poor of condition the unit was in for such a high profile resort area like Princeville."

"An affordable place to stay in princeville
We were invited to Kauai for a wedding and was told that the wedding party would be staying in the princeville area...I was skeptical to book here with only 3 reviews at the time I was researching, but I, along with two other people, was on a budget and was willing to roll the dice since it was in the area we needed to be and everywhere else in the area that would sleep three guests were costing way way more.

It’s an older condo that isn’t fancy but it did the job and we still found it charming. We were going to be out doing wedding stuff and exploring so we really didn’t mind it too much.

My cousin and I shared the bed, which was VERY squeaky, and we could also hear the people above us snoring. The bathroom vanity mirror light wasn’t working, as well as the light in the closet (we would pull the cord to turn it on but it wouldn’t..we needed to reach up and twist it around to get it going). Also, when showering, the water would drain very slowly. The kitchen had an area under the sink that had a blue tarp hanging and we assumed it must have been a dishwasher at some point that got taken out but never replaced or covered with another cabinet. Also, there were lights on the side of our beds, but the one on my side didn’t work. It had wires exposed in the center..a little sketchy if a kid were to have gotten a hold of it. My friend slept on the couch. There were two pull out couches but they were both uncomfortable to sleep on when pulled out, so he just slept directly on the folded up sofa.

Location was great, there were beautiful views, and parking wasn’t too bad. If you want the experience of staying in the princeville/hanalei area without breaking the bank and just need a place to rest, I would still recommend this unit. It’s not fancy, but it’s in a great location...though it is an older unit that could definitely use some updates, it was clean enough. Staff was friendly and"

"I would not stay here again
My husband and I did not have a good stay here. The apartment was dirty (food/hair left on clean dishes), dirty fridge/freezer, cockroach feces in cabinets. Toilet runs. Lightbulbs were burned out.

There was a really terrible odor. It was coming from the broken dishwasher. There were several inches of stagnant putrid water left in it. We arrived late Friday night, and the smell worsened significantly. We did write an Email to the management team regarding the situation. They were very nice and did send maintenance out to the property. We were so frustrated with the state of the apartment though. I cleaned it, and my husband bought tools to remove the dishwasher. He left it outside the apartment where the smell worsened. Maintenance covered it with a tarp.. and covered the hole in the kitchen with a tarp.

Maintenance tried to change one lightbulb in the bathroom, and it still did not work.

You could stay nearby in a nicer, more affordable place. I checked listings while we were there. I think most people would have left. We should have the first day. We decided to make the most of it and enjoy our vacation despite this terrible accommodation.

The bed frame was also broken. Anytime one moved on the bed, it would make a loud "cracking" noise. We could not sleep. Maintenance looked at it, but they could not fix it. It was missing parts. My husband did a quick fix to make it more comfortable.

I did request money back via E-mail and the cleaning deposit. They did not address my request. I do believe that was a fair ask.

Just stay somewhere else. Seriously. "

"Sweat Box
The unit is on the far side of the complex exposed from morning until night to direct sunlight. Without an airconditioner, it is not habitabl. I had to stay with friends during my vist it was so hot inside the apartment. I would gladly have paid extra for an air conditioner. Basically uninhabitable."

"Lovely and comfortable
This place was my personal dream- cozy, welcoming and practical. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the linens were comfy and clean. The kitchen was surprisingly well stocked and we had everything we needed to stay for a week.

All of the negative reviews sound like they're from entitled mainlanders who were looking for things to be dissatisfied with. The building is not new construction, but the interior had clearly been recently renovated and was clean. The view from the lanai is of the beautiful forest, and just a few steps outside the front door there's a bench overlooking an incredible view of the ocean.

Everything is expensive in Hawaii, which is ok if you plan for it. This property was a perfect romantic getaway for 2, and I have every intention of returning to this unit the next time I visit the island."

"Old apartment, good location
The pictures do not really look the same. This is old apartment. The fans dirty + the toilet handle does, and the towel hanger worked from time to time. The bathroom looks old. the tub was super narrow which made an uncomfortable bath. For the most part the apartment was ok."

We were very happy with our stay! The room was a little run-down but the price was great and the room had amazing views, TV with all the streaming subscriptions, and access to a private beach. If I come to Kauai I would defently stay here."
