"Love Port Aransas by
3rd 30 day stay at this property. Love the set up and location to the beach. Disappointed in conditions. Couch, chair covers could stand a cleaning or replacement. Had to wait 11 days to get the oven and a burner repaired, to get the cloths washer repaired. There is a outside lite on second floor ready to fall off. There were no working hoses. You guys were awesome with your response, but we had to waste 3/4 days of our rental waiting on repairs."

"Location, Location, Location
We have stayed at this property multiple times because of the location, and perfect configuration of bedrooms, baths, living for our family. Plus the Gulf Waters RV resort location is amazing. Great amenities, and very friendly neighbors. The home itself needs lots of work. Much of the exterior has salt water damage, and the furniture is showing its age and usage. The living room couch needs to be completely replaced. The best feature is the hot tub (which is shown as a feature of this house online) does not work, and if it was replaced, we would visit this property more often. We will probably return because of the location, but really hope that the owner invest in keeping this property up to date with the neighbors. "

"Disappointed
While we loved the location of this property, the house itself was a disappointment. Upon arrival, the AC for the main floor was inoperable and wasn’t fixable until the next day. The washing machine for the house was also inoperable and was never repaired during our stay. Our entire group packed light as we expected to have an operating washing machine. The hot tub on the ground floor was disconnected and had 2 inches of water and one inch of sand in the tub. While showering in the master bathroom on the 2nd to last day, the faucet handle broke off in my hand and the water could not be stopped. Fortunately, the management company was able to address this quickly (Port A Escapes was excellent, BTW). In addition to these problems, the furniture on the main floor was very worn and dirty. We would not allow our grandchildren to sit on the couch without towel coverings. Given the status of the washing machine, maybe cleaning the couch cushions wasn’t possible. Overall, the house is simply worn. It needs some love."

"MORE TIME,
This was our first experience and I had to learn a lot about checking 8n and get the door code. Thank goodness my daughter was there to help and the company was quick to get us the information we needed to begin our wonderful three day, which was not nough t8meto enjoy and relax. The home was beautifully furnished with little extras, above what we had anticipated. They provided sand toys, beach chairs and wagon for kids, which we did not need. We took way more than we needed. Plenty of space in the kitchen/great room for our family of seven. The elevator was so helpful in carrying bags into the house. We live in Arkansas so it was quite a drive to get there, but next time we will plan to stay longer. Thank you for a great time."

"Best Memory yet!
This was our second time to stay in this gorgeous home. My husband and I renewed our wedding vows on the beach in front of the home. Perfect day! We decorated the home and were able to accommodate 40 guests for dinner. The patio is huge! The house is big. Our father was in a wheelchair and the elevator made it possible for him to join us. The views are beautiful. Make sure to order a beach buggie before your arrival. We had a very difficult time finding one and ended up with a 4 seater. "

"Didn't Want to Leave!
We had an amazing time at The Pearl of Port Aransas! The home is beautiful and perfect for relaxing. There was plenty of room for all 10 of us. The views are second to none. Even the RV resort was beautiful. Everyone was friendly and Port A Escapes was quick to fix any issues we had. We will definitely be staying here again!"

"Family Vacation
Loved the location of the home with gorgeous beach views, had an area to park the boat at the RV park office at the front of the subdivision, the elevator was a huge plus. Had to call maintenance for a sink issue and they came right away. The half bath only next to bottom floor bedroom wasn't ideal for us but we managed. We were disappointed the hot tub wasn't working as that was one of the reasons we picked this home. Overall, lovely home, close to town and easy access to the beach, plus pet friendly!"

"Not terrible but not great either
The property was clean overall and is close to the beach, however... the 10 person hot tub is a joke. It's probably a 30 years old unit not working at all. Remove this from the ad, because it does not work. The jets were spraying all over the place when turned on, nozzles missing. We were afraid to use it. The ad is a scam having hot tub in the title (at the time of this writing the rental ad title is "Fantastic, NEW BEACHFRONT HOME! 10 person HOTTUB.")."

"The Pearl - nice place but needs attention
In general, the house is quite nice. Unfortunately, the guest is continually met with areas of neglect. Specifically, some things don't seem clean. I found coffee grounds in the coffee pot, there is no garbage disposal, there are some dirty baseboards. The banister was replaced apparently however they didn't touch up the paint. When you pay Resort prices, you expect to be in a Resort and these details take away from the experience. We have stayed at another home in the Resort and it was impeccable so it seems this home, The Pearl, needs to be brought up to standard. The refrigerator has difficulty closing and it makes a recurring shrill noise periodically. In addition, the dining chairs are torn and sunken in the seat, very uncomfortable, and the living room furniture is missing comfortable sofas. The outside furniture has seen better days. Now the positive: the view of the ocean makes up for most of the discomforts of the interior. While we won't stay at The Pearl in the future, we will return to the other home we've stayed at and try the others. In general, the homes at this Resort are attractive and the location is amazing. "

"Not a 5 bedroom as advertised
We reserved and paid for a 5 bedroom/3.5 bathroom. We got a 4 bedroom/3 bathroom. The door that we assume was the 5th bedroom and other bath was locked with signs saying "owners". Our group ended up having to share spaces that we weren't expecting to share. Luckily we were able to make it work in the end, but we definitely didn't get what we paid for.
That said, the rest of the space was great and the location to the beach was perfect. We still enjoyed ourselves, but feel a partial refund is deserved."

"Disappointed
The biggest problem was the a/c would not keep the 3rd floor below 77 during the day and 73 at night. The stair railing is loose and unsafe. The towel holders are loose. The TV’s are a nightmare remotes everywhere to TVs that no longer exist 6 TVs and 2 work. "

"Great Views with Maintenance Needed
We brought my elderly parents for a trip to the beach. The property was located very close to a board walk which was great. The views were amazing after I cleaned all the windows... the doors to all balconies were broken which was disheartening for my parents, we had expected for them to be able to use the elevator and easily enjoy the view while sitting outside. Having to walk up and down the stairs wasn’t possible for them. We would stay again without any children or elderly adults for the views and easy beach access. "

What can I say. The house pretty, great view but I paid way to much for a house that had a lot of deffered maintenance that your maintenance people saw first hand. Doors warped, broken doors, fogged window that needed to be replaced, the closer on the storm was broken. The screens were gross. We never went into the hot tub for fear it wasn't properly taken care of. We are also locked out upon arrival and took over a hour for someone to get there to find out once you got in the garage you could go up the elevator (didn't know there was an elevator nor how to use it). One of the maintenance people had to help us figure out how to use the TV's It's a shame that the owner of this investment hasn't taken of this house. I suggested to management that the owner should have given us a partial refund. They never responded. We did have a good time in Port A"

"The Pearl
I took my kids and their spouses for a long weekend to the Pearl. The view was just what we wanted. We visited the beach but primarily stayed at the house due to Covid. The kitchen was fine for our cooking ( although we had to buy another coffee maker). We all enjoyed the house. This was a return visit as we had rented this house last year."

"Family holiday trip to Port Aransas
We stayed at the Pearl of Port A from Christmas through New Years as our "collective" gift. We had a party of 10 including our family with 4 young adults and then we had both sets of grandparents. Our goal was to enjoy the ocean and each other for a quiet relaxing week! The Pearl is a great house in a great location for a beach getaway. The house is configured for guests to relax with a view of the ocean on the 3rd floor as the primary living space and then the 2nd floor has most of the bedrooms. I would come here again in a heartbeat - very close access to the beach, and plenty of space on the beach to spread out. We rented 2 golf carts and used those to navigate to and from the beach and around town (legal routes only). As we are relatively frequent VRBO users I would add some suggestions compared to what my wife and I have experienced in other rentals to make the Pearl even better:
1. Check in process - not a big deal, staff was awesome but we drove in to the office to get a code for the garage. For code based rentals - which are common, could operate via text?
2. Upgrade and make the 3rd door entrance to patio fully accessible. This is actually really important for the flow of the house since this is the living area. We called and were told we could use the door but to be extremely careful - and we were, but I would offer taking this away as a limitation with a permanent solution would be great.
3. Hot tub is a great offering - we used it daily as we typically do on vacation. This one needs a lot of work, one of the spouts was not working so was covered up with a makeshift solution to keep water from draining off the backside.
4. Final recommendation - add posted signs for how to use the hot tub at or on the breaker box. This is what we typically see in vacation rentals and there are some extras on this hot tub that I didn't know what to do with.

"Spectacular View
Beautiful house! We have stayed in many rentals and this had everything we needed. The main room with kitchen and living room is gorgeous. Be aware that the elevator was not available for our use and there are a lot of stairs, with the main living room as the top floor. Also it shows 2 garages but only 1 is available for use. The bathrooms were clean and very nice. Loved sitting out on the deck and its proximity to the beach is great. We rented a golf cart but it is a 20 minute ride down the beach to Port Aransas town center. We used it to go to the beach everyday which was really nice. We would definitely stay here again."

"Great beach location!
We loved how close this house was to the beach, how private and not crowded the beach area was, and the wide boardwalk so you can drive your golf cart to and from! The house was nice and is beautiful but some minor things that the owner could do would make a HUGE difference: curtains in the master to help with sunlight, trash cans in all rooms and bathrooms, bunk beds need more slats for support, TV’s in all rooms need cable, door on top floor deck is super hard to open/close, extra blankets available. Fairly minor stuff that could make a big difference. We LOVED the beauty of the Gulf Waters area and the staff were great. Also great job to the staff of PortA Escapes! Helpful and friendly all around! We will be back to Gulf Waters for sure but may try one of the other homes. "

"Very Misleading Listing
VERY DIRTY, food left on dishes, they had two hand can openers and both were stripped, the hot tub was full of sand and dirty/broke, the doors would stick and were very hard to open and shut on the back of the unit and none of the TVs worked throughout the house, ac filters were clogged and very dirty. This property was a complete disappointment for me and our family and to have paid so much money for what we got!! The unit kitchen is not well equipped at all as well goes for the furniture in the living area, the property did have nice views, had this property been properly cared for and properly maintained I’m sure our experience would of been much different, definitely not worth the money our family spent. VERY DISAPPOINTED, we travel through VRBO all the time and this is the first bad review I’ve ever left, but I don’t want another family to waste their hard earned money on this place as my family did."

" Christmas Vacay
The rental is nice. Lots of bedrooms. Have stayed several times in Gulf Waters RV houses and have loved them. The Pearl is not my favorite. The extra beds are small and the mattresses are hard. It was not clean when we arrived, even though he had to wait to check in, for the house to be cleaned. There was an unclean toilet, shower items left from previous occupant, the kitchen floor was very dirty, and dog poop was on the porch. So there were a few disheartening things. But on the up side the views are beautiful and the beach is really close. "

"Pre Chrismas family VACA
Probably not a good house for people who do NOT want to hear young children very early in the am because noise does travel quite loudly through the home. But, you will want to be up early for the view of the sunrise!!! The spot was GORGEOUS! We loved the home! It is stocked VERY well in the kitchen for this chef! Better than any kitchen we have seen, (other than mine). One thing that could be improved: There is not enough comfortable seating for as many people that the house allows. Only 4 "comfy" seats for just chilling in the house. Not sure there is anything that can be done about the noise that travels through the stair case. We had a maintenance issue with the house and the maintenance men were there within the hour to fix it. The communication between us and Port A escapes was superb!
If you go tp Port A you MUST get a buggy and travel the beach and go to town - eat at Trouts and then go to the creamery for dessert! LOVED this little town! The RV "park" is not a park but a resort! Beautiful! "

"Beautiful view but disappointing accommodations
We have stayed at a Port A Escapes property in this location before and really loved it but unfortunately this property was very disappointing. A few of the issues we encountered: the furniture was sparse, uncomfortable, and falling apart; we had to buy a cutting board and a new skillet; there were only plastic plates and plastic cups and plastic wine glasses; the lighting was either hospital-level bright or none at all (we had to bring up lamps from all the bedrooms). Additionally, the hot tub appeared moldy and did not seem to work, though we gave up trying after seeing the mold. The top floor bedroom (for our 80-year-old mother) was in the middle of everything as was her bathroom (not en suite). The ground floor bedroom only had exterior doors and was completely cut off from the main house. During a rain storm we heard a very loud flapping/banging noise in the master bathroom. The bar stools were too high for the bar, making it difficult to sit with one's knees under the counter. These may seem small but for the amount of money we paid, we expected at the very least a decently equipped kitchen, clean floors, and comfortable chairs. Our family of 6 made do for Thanksgiving but it wasn't easy. Overall, the home needs some TLC. A good cleaning would help too--our socks were black after only an evening of walking around the house. A beach wagon and a few beach chairs would be the icing on the cake. That said, we absolutely loved the covered outdoor decks and the gorgeous view (once we cleaned the windows) can't be beat. The location of the boardwalk and the property/community are really wonderful as well. "

"Underwhelmed
The location was perfect. The views from the house were beautiful. It was definitely oceanfront. The furnishings in the house definitely needed to be refurbished. The barbecue grill was much too small for the house and was in the garage, which was far from the kitchen on the 3rd floor. There were not enough silverware and dishes for the 12 people in our family. We couldn’t get the WiFi to work and the air conditioning on the 3rd floor wasn’t working properly. We called maintenance Friday evening when we arrived, and they didn’t come till Sunday morning. We ended up turning it off for awhile to let it thaw out but it ended up happening again. The repair man changed the clogged filters Sunday morning but it happened again. The hot tub must not have been cleaned because there was sand in it, so we didn’t even use that. This is advertised as a new luxury home, so we were disappointed in it."

The property did not accurately describe the bed sizes. Only the master bedroom had a king size bed. The other two bedrooms listed queen size and they were full size beds. Some lightbulbs were burned out. Needed more bathtowels - had to do laundry everyday and we went to the dollar store to purchase more towels so we didn't have to wash bath towels everyday. The refrigerator's auto ice cube feature did not work. So, we ended up purchasing ice. The refrigerator temp was turned too high when we checked in, so we had to keep the refrigerator closed for most of the first day so our items would cool. The floors were not well cleaned. My socks were dirty after walking around on the floors. I used my bath towel to clean my bathroom and bedroom floor after showering. Some outdoor furniture is broken. The layout of the home is very comfortable. The view is spectacular."

"Nice But Should be Better
I sure hope my review makes it to the owners of this property and to the internet. First of all, what you see in the pictures is a brand new house. However, after a few years of use, it is definitely showing wear and tear. I highly recommend that you request current photos before renting. The first floor patio area was very dirty and unusable. The hot tub had a lot of sand in it and was also dirty. In other words, neither were cleaned so advertising these two items for use by the renters is not truthful. I highly recommend that you bring loud fans to help drown out any noise at night because you can hear everything! Even the interior doors are not solid but are actually slatted doors. The kitchen was ok with the exception of a broken freezer and missing utensils and other cooking things. The house needs to be refreshed and cleaned from top to bottom. Repairs need to be made. On the bright side, it is in a great location and very close to the beach. Parking was awesome as we were able to easily fit four large vehicles. The A/C worked great! Water pressure was awesome and hot. The washer and dryer were adequate. A nice convenience was the elevator. And the property managers were great to work with. We liked the area so much that we have already reserved the house next to this one. Why didn't we reserve this one again? For the reasons mentioned above. These houses are very expensive to rent and rather than accept the shortcomings of this house, we decided to reserve a better house for the same price. I would still recommend this house as long as it is cleaned and maintenance is accomplished."

"Great Vacation!
We had a few issues in the beginning and all were addressed and taken care of by Port A Escapes in a very timely manner. I highly suggest renting from Port A Escapes as they are really on top of it. Harry and the office staff were great!
I would suggest to the owners to update some furniture pieces in the living area. Loved the large table in the dining area!
A few outside pieces were broken.
Not a lot of kitchen items- We bought or brought extra serving/mixing bowls, cooking utensils, cutting board, corkscrew, and cups. We mainly used paper plates and our own solo or styrofoam cups.
Great views and enjoyed our visit! Will come again!"

"Eleven Ladies Loved It!
The Pearl of PortA was the perfect setting for our annual Girlfriends Getaway! We enjoyed the glorious views, short walk to the beach, picturesque RV park with its lovely waterways and Tiki Huts, the house’s delightful decor, beautiful kitchen , great table, TV sitting area, nice bedrooms and baths! Our favorite places to be were the balconies with their comfortable furniture and the sounds of the surf! Elevator was great for the move in. Nice pool... appreciated time out for adults only! Great helpful people at Port A Escapes and Gulfwater! The beach, restaurants, shops, weather, and relaxed atmosphere of Port A and Rockport did not disappoint! We are looking forward to our next stay! Thanks!"

"Family Reunion Weekend
Property was great. Hot Tub could have been warmer. Loved that the place had a lift. There is no insulation so you can hear everything, but this was a family reunion so it was all good. The view of the ocean from the master bedroom was amazing. We did have a lovely family reunion and would recommend this home. Very close to the beach, five min walk. It’s in an RV Park, we didn’t mind. Everyone was incredibly nice. "

"Beautiful Home!
We enjoyed our stay at the Pearl; it was clean and close to the beach. The only element of the home that I would change is, the doors to the bedrooms and the bathrooms. They are constructed of shutters, which removes all privacy. Also, one last bit of advise - take mosquitoe spray! The mosquito population is out of control. "

"Beachfront Beauty
Beautiful home with great views! The kitchen was well equipped and the house is furnished beautifully. Bed were comfortable with nice fluffy pillows. Just a few things I wish had been provided...more bath and kitchen towels. A few more blankets and a baby gate for the stairway. Overall our family had a wonderful time and made many great memories. We would love to come back and we will high recommend this home to family and friends."

"Great View!
We have rented from Port A Escapes on several occasions. Their staff are always helpful and friendly. I appreciate the conventient text notifications you receive leading up to and during your stay. It has been an annual tradition for our family to visit Port Aransas around July 4th. While you have to be careful with some listings, this home has a true unobstructed view of the beach. We were slightly disappointed with a few items in this home. The downstairs room is marketed as a”bedroom” however it is not connected to the home through an interior and the room has an exterior entry door on the side of the home with no window covering. . We were intending to use this as a sleeping room, but no one felt comfortable. The call function on the elevator was not consistent. We were traveling with my 84 year old grandmother and there were times we could get her down to the ground level, but not back up. There was not a single glass bowl or plate provided in the home to reheat items in the microwave. Another factor in the home we selected was televisions. With different sleep schedules and morning/evening routines several wanted a TV in their room. When going to bed the first evening we realized there was not a cable box in 2 of the rooms, and ended up playing ring around the rosey switching rooms. The grounds of the resort the home is located in is very well taken care of"

"Wouldn't Stay Again
This home is not brand new and they shouldn’t be able to advertise as such. It’s a nice house, but has wear and tear and at least a couple years old. Also, this house is listed as non-smoking, but you can smell stale smoke the moment you walk in the garage and there were cigarettes in an ash tray on the porch. However, this review is mainly regarding the poor property management. We rented the property for 2 nights at NYE. We showed up to the house at 5pm and it was 58 degrees inside. Spending close to $800/nt, you would hope property management would turn the heater on for you. At bedtime for our small kids (1, 2, and 4) the house had only reached 63 degrees. We called property management and they sent out their HVAC guy to make sure everything was running smoothly. The outcome was the system isn’t strong and we just had to bundle and wait. At midnight I think the house finally reached 70 degrees. Also, the house was stocked with near to nothing! There were 2 towels in the whole 5 bed, 3 bath house! There weren’t even hand towels to dry your hands. No hand soap in bathrooms, no laundry detergent, 1 dishwasher sample to use at checkout, no extra blankets and 10 hangers for the whole 5 bed house! There weren’t even batteries in the remote! We were in awe. We love to travel and have stayed in many homes and have never experienced anything like this. Another strange thing is on the 2nd day, we went out to explore the area and when we returned it was obvious someone had been in the house. Pretty creeped out, I called property management and they said that they sent housekeeping over to clean up the patio cigarette butts and a maintenance guy to place batteries in the remotes. They never gave us any heads up and I had left out my purse and valuables. This made us feel very uncomfortable.
Needless to say, we would never stay here again or with any Port A Escapes property. Paying $2200 for 2 nights and to deal with this, it was a joke."

We did have trouble finding our entry into a luxury RV Park. A bit unexpected. Also a fire alarm battery failed one morning about 4:00am. We informed management and they sent someone to repair the next day."

"Beautiful beach house
Beautiful home with amazing ocean view. The home is new and well decorated. The beds were all comfortable and there was space for everyone. We loved the 2 decks and view. Loved having aan elevator. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone.
A few things to note, there is a bedroom on ground floor that has no interior connection, we were going to use the room for kids but didn't feel comfortable so far away. 7 of the beds are twins. The doors do not block any noise. If someone is in the bathroom on 3rd floor everyone can hear. Also recommend renting a beach buggy for trips to the beach and taking out trash. "

"Great Vacay
Our stay was almost perfect. This house is adorable and the view is spectacular. The elevator is a lifesaver for unloading the heavy things to the third floor. Do yourself a favor and rent a beach buggy. It is so fun and makes the trips to the beach easier especially with little ones."

"As advertised, beautiful, new, large beach home
Beautiful 3 story home on the beach. Outstanding 180 degree views of the beach from the wonderful outside decks. House is brand new and is tastefully decorated. The beds are excellent...I've never slept so well. The house is a 5 minute walk across the boardwalk from the beach, but I do recommend pre-ordering a golf cart, as it makes frequent beach trips and carrying gear a lot easier. Just a beautiful stay. "
