"Pleasant surprise
I only discovered Port A escapes a few weeks ago and never used them before. The experience was painless. I found them very accommodating and everything went as it should. The condo was beautiful, well furnished, well appointed and actually a lot larger than I expected. One disappointment was I was expecting a patio or balcony and there was none. Nor was there a view of the channel, at least from this particular condo. On a lesser scale, the coffee pot was inoperative and the only working light in the bedroom with the king bed was the one on the ceiling fan, which was operated by a chain only about an inch long."

"July 2021 Trip - Channelview- Port A
Excellent. We have stayed at Channelview a number of times over the last 25 (or more) years and have seen the upswing and a slight decline in the property and then stabilized. Then Harvey comes along. The renovations have renewed our expectations. The improvements, cleanliness and the addition of the access gates with a security person that actually makes his rounds, gives a more relaxed feeling when coming in from the pier at 2 or 3 a.m. The only item that is still a long time concern is the elevator, even though we have never encountered a failure, the feeling is not good until the doors open to get off. We always have one of us take the stairs and wait for the others to arrive. Overall excellent!! The pier repairs are great. "

"Overall good experience
The condo is nicely remodeled & amenities were great. Only issue was one of the owners complained that we had too many people that didn't belong, but our family rented out 4 condos, so we had at least 30 members and were accused of not belonging. We don't pay as much as the owners, but we paid enough & they made us feel uncomfortable as guests."

"Subpar for the price
window blinds not functioning correctly when we arrived. TV poor picture quality and remote did not work. No dish towels provided. Didn't care for the mirror above master bed however we slept well and it was comfortable. Liked updated Kit. Management required us to take trash to dumpster when we left. For the price we paid that's just wrong. "

"Not my favorite.
Really liked the location and some of the amenities, but was unhappy with several things. Pool and pier were great and the condo itself was pretty good. Loved the protected parking. Cable and internet was out half the trip, and when you could get logged in, was very slow. The owners provided pretty much everything that was needed. Response time from management company was not great. Stay out of the elevator!!! My son in law got trapped and we had to call fire department for rescue. It was only about 95 degrees with 90 percent humidity in the elevator, so not a great experience. I will likely look for another property in the future."

The condo was very nice place for our group of friends to stay for a weekend of fishing in Port A. The location was great. The fishing pier was a nice amenity. The trout were jumping at night under the lights. The master bed was interesting; I wouldn't say I liked seeing all of myself in the mirrored bed frame. The pool was nice as well, half-shaded in the afternoon. "

"Port A-escapes needs a lesson in management
The unit was fine, although it needs updated windows like other units that actually open and the bathrooms need serious updating. The disconnect between the on-site office and Port A-escapes was very discouraging. The on site office had to call PA Escapes to get a roll of TP! There was a water leak in the building and I was out of water for 3 days. PA Escapes idea of "accommodating" was to turn the water on for a few minutes so I could fill my bath tub and use that water to flush toilets! Half of the other building was empty, a unit could have been opened to accommodate us. We had to ask for financial compensation for the days the unit was unoperatable, and are still waiting for the refund. Also, both the elevators and pool were torn up the entire MONTH! Management is more than collecting money and handing out keys....Channel View, get a new management team!"

"Beautiful condo!
We usually stay at a friend's condo when in Port A, but it was unavailable. We logged on to Port Aransas Escapes and found a condo in the same location we usually stay. It was beautifully decorated, roomy enough for 6 to sleep (can sleep up to 10) and located on the channel. Will definitely book with them again. Price was also good!"

"Awesome Condo!
We (8 people) stayed in Channelview 215 for a long weekend. The condo was very clean and super nice. The long table accommodated all of us to sit and eat comfortably. The rooms and beds were good size and very comfortable. The private pier was a plus as we all love to fish. We were able to have some downtown time and relax in this wonderful and quiet place. It was very quiet and relaxing."

My family has been coming to Port A every summer for the past 30 plus years. The only thing our room was missing was a washer and dryer. Other than that, it was perfect. View of the pier along with a view of the pool. The upgrades to the property are wonderful, but I felt the pool could have been much cleaner. "

"Channel View review
We have been coming to Port Aransas for 40 years, and we always stay at Channel View. This year was a little different because a new management company was handling reservations instead of the on-site system we're used to. Everything was great, except for the first time, there was no cleaning service offered for an 8-night stay; we ran out of dishwasher pellets, dishwashing liquid, trash bags, toilet paper and had to wash our own towels. I'm not sure if we had requested more of these items they would have provided them or not. Other than those (minor) inconveniences, it was fabulous as usual! We love being right on the Channel with our own pool and fishing pier."
