"Nice view but...
Preface: We are former FT residents of PA, left after we saw the Harvey boom effect... so not entirely naive about the town vibe, weather etc...
As we pulled into the Channelview parking we were greeted with a 9PM yelling match between overly entitled owner / curmudgeon and repeat offender fishing pier interloper. That was an immediate buzzkill on a Sunday night in what should be a chill offseason time. Oh well, entropy has infiltrated “paradise”.
The awesome lighted fishing pier has created an attractive nuisance such that there are regular patrols by security to check everyone’s wristbands like it’s a VIP section of ACL. Just an unfortunate pall laid over a surreal night experience. CV, PAE et al are obviously trying to sort a solution to a difficult problem. But it is still weird. Privatization of waterfront has consequences...
Our rental unit was lovely. It’s hard to mess up a view like that!
My only complaint was the non-functioning internet. It was fine as the cell coverage there is solid.
I found the PAE messaging to be be very professional and informative. No complaints there.
Running a lodging rental company in Port A is haaaaaard! And for their part PAE is doing a fine job."

"Anniversary Vacation
The vacation experience was good. the place was very clean and the location is outstanding. There were some minor irritants though. The master bathroom sink has a spigot that barley empties into the sink bowel. Once you get your hands underneath it, there is barley enough room to rinse your hands.
Additionally, the lamp cord in the master bedroom does not reach the wall socket. Luckily we brought an extension cord. "

"Labor Day
Very clean and all essentials. Great view to the piers of ships kids enjoyed the view access to beach was close parking great and liked we could park our gulf cart on premises parking lot. Internet went down first day but fixed later that night. Great place to relax and enjoy the beach. Only comment not a complaint is elevator would be nice for dragging your stuff up three flights. I would stay there again only longer."

"Best fishing trip
We had a wonderful time in Port A. Our rental was great. Awesome view . Love the private pier. This was our 11 year old nieces 1st fishing trip. She loved it. We definitely will be going back. "

"Channel View Vacation
Our family vacation at the channel view was a good time. We enjoy staying there because of the location. The view from our particular unit was spectacular. The room is spacious and everyone said the trip was amazing. The water pressure wasn’t very good and the room had what looked like ants in the window sill. Also the pool was very dirty and someone’s children had left all their toys and trash laying around and left in the pool. There was no maintenance to the pool all weekend. This room was approximately $720 per night and I would think it could be better maintained."

"Never again! Like Channelview but not this unit!
This was our 3rd time in 2 years and our last! The furniture everywhere in here is old, tired and needs updating. The beds are uncomfortable and we’ve experienced sleeping in both rooms. The window sills are rotting and moldy hidden partially by the sofa on the left in this picture. You see those windows - well, this time they were full of black, really disgusting bird poop. Not much in the way of decor unless you call the flyswatter hanging on the wall in the dining area, ART! The best part of this unit is the view, well minus the bird poop. The pool is nice and they have access to the pier in the photo. However if I go back, CV112 is beautiful, recently remodeled with nice furniture. The view is slightly different, looking up the channel rather than out to the bay but much nicer overall.

"Best view around
It’s good could have been slightly better if they had updated TVs extremely difficult, multiple remotes and frankly didn’t work half the time. Could be easily solved w smart TVs. Stove burner was out and there was no sheet on the master bed mattres. Other than that great condo it’s our favorite one to stay in ar channel key "

"Awesome view
Wanted to spend more time in the rental than out in town or on the beach. Great place to relax and enjoy the views, very nice accommodations. Parking lot is super tight and spaces are narrow. It was difficult to park my full-sized pickup."

It is such a tranquil place that we are satisfied staying ‘in’. This is what we look for in most vacation stays. All around us the city hums with life enabled by the seashore and the ship channel. We can enjoy nature, food, and the sea from the beautiful condo windows or explore on foot. We never cease to enjoy revisiting old haunts.

"Amazing Views!
First off, the views are BEYOND amazing! The property is VERY clean and very well maintained-nice private pier, clean, large pool. The only complaint we had is there were no instructions for the TVs and all remotes were kept together..there were also cables missing from one bedroom tv. There were also ants, although not in the kitchen and we were not bothered by them. Beds were comfy, a/c worked great-and again, the VIEWS!!!"

"Magnificent!
The condo was everything we expected and more! Check-in was a breeze and the condo was clean and comfortable upon arrival. The location and view were amazing! After a long day at the beach my boys loved to go out to the pier and do some more fishing. The pier has bright lights so they went well into the late night fishing and making memories. Everyone enjoyed watching the ships and we even got to see an oil rig being moved out to sea! It was a spectacular sight! We will definitely make Channel View condominiums our go to place in Port Aransas. "

"Watch HUGE tankers pass by and see birds at eye level!
Beautifully decorated two bedroom and two bath! The kicker is the view! I've stayed in numerous places in Port Aransas for over 50 years and I LOVE this place! Very clean especially the windows which is necessary to totally enjoy your stay in this very convenient location! Well maintained property, too! "

"Clean with upgraded furnishings & appliances
Comfortable beds & beddings. Air fryer & all the kitchen utensils & dishes you need to cook. Storm windows were excellent when we needed privacy from the people on the dock. The unit was clean, neat, & organized. The fridge door needed w40 & the hair dryer was missing. The management company was professional & friendly. "

"MLK weekend at Channel View Condominums
My wife and I plus a childhood friend spent three wonderful days at this wonderful channel front home. The views of the ship channel with the boat traffic so close plus the fishing pier and well kept grounds including barbeque pits made our weekend very special and serene. A rating of 5 across the board."

"It’s Stunning!
This vacation rental is truly stunning. The view is just amazing! You never even need to leave to feel like your truly on vacation. The actual condo came with anything we could need!
My only negative thing was, the fishing pier is supposed to only be for those staying at channel view. You have to wear a wrist band. Well out of our 3 days there, a security guard only walked through one time and he didn’t even check for wrist bands. Many people were fishing without them and nothing was done. This caused it to get overly busy. When we paid as much as we did, it would be nice if it was kept more secure. Other than that, a wonderful trip and we will be back soon! "

The place is awesome. However, there was a MASSIVE AMOUNT of bird poop on the windows that block the view of the ship channel. There was NO advance notice of this problem. The management company, "(Property Management)", said they could not clean the windows..."it was an ongoing problem with the condo HOA, etc., etc". "

We so enjoyed this stay. It's an amazing location with a very luxurious feel. Be sure and set your alarm for sunrise in the morning so you can see the frisky dolphins at play just yards away from you. The ships were also within arms reach it seemed. The condo is thoughtfully equipped with everything you need"

Always love coming to ChannelView. The only thing we don't like about this condo is the masterbath sink, you can hardly wash your hands due to the bowl placement. Bad installation, but you can't change it so you just use a different sink!"

"Channelview Condo 211
Looks just like the pictures! Fast efficient checkin. Quick responses to phone calls and emails by PortAEscapes. The condo inside was clean. The condo was expensive so expected a great experience overall. Family of 4 booked this condo for the view and the fishing pier and did not disappoint for that. The windows needed some exterior cleaning. The TV in the bedrooms could not be used because a roku pin was needed and that was not provided. Please provide written instructions next to the TV’s. We needed a TV since the neighbors baby was crying all night. Would like to have seen a keurig like most high end condos provide. Nice washer and dryer. The front door was kinda hard to open at times with the pin code. Overall would rent this unit again in a heartbeat. The Electricity went out for an hour or so sunday evening. Called management company which responded and said they were on it. "

"Perfect- Relaxing- Mini Vaca
Such a relaxing stay! Room 211 was ABSOLUTELY perfect for viewing ships, tugs and pilot boats coming and going through the jetty! We even watched an oil platform with six tugs being moved out to the gulf.
WE watched a fisherman catch and release a large redfish! Only thing better would have been an elevator! But still worth the steps. We will go again! Booking was awesome!"

"Summer 2017 Vacation
The condo was in a great location overlooking the channel and had access to a private fishing pier. The only complaint about the property we had was the condition of the flooring. There must have been a recent water leak which resulted in the floor being damaged in part of the condo. We tripped over the cork planks that were coming up a few times. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the property to others."

"Better than the pictures
We LOVED it. The views are AMAZING. We were with our 18 month old, so it was nice to be able to enjoy the indoors as much as the outdoors. During nap time, we were able to just sit in the AC, enjoy some cocktails and watch the ships in the channel. I'm usually big on balconies and outdoor space, but between the floor to ceiling windows and the awesome pier, picnic space, and pool, I was very pleased with the space. The bedrooms and bathrooms were great. Parking was easy. And we were convenient to the beach and restaurants. We did rent a golf cart which allowed us to get around a little quicker. My ONLY complaint is that we were missing a few simple things in the kitchen (can opener). I hope we stay here again in the future. "

"Great View
Great place to stay with the best view ever of the channel. Condo fully equipped and decorated very nice. The beds are a little hard for my taste and you have to walk up 3 flights of stairs. But the view and condo are worth every step no matter how it hurt my knees. You can watch the ships, birds, dolphins all from you living room. So relaxing. There is pier to fish off and location is close to beach and restaurants. I already booked another trip here. "

"Upscale Condo in a Great Location
Great location. You can walk to the St. Joe's ferry, restaurants and shopping. Beach and south jetty are a short walk. Enjoyed relaxing on high end furniture while watching the dolphins, pelicans, turtles and ships. Nicely decorated with quality furniture, dishes and bedding. Appears to be recently updated with fantastic kitchen and bathrooms. Best condo experience on the island."

"Great Location but poor maintenance. Constantly called for help.
We have stayed many times at the Channel view confining. This time we chose to spend more money per night for a room that overlooked the fishing pier. The unit was nicely decorated but we felt that most of the appliances were too high tech to be practical for a rental user. Many things did not work or were never completed on their initial installation. Ice maker did not work, the thermostats was dislodgedfrom its base making it impossible to reset the temperature. The hot water was turned off as there was an apparent leak under the refrigerator that had not been repaired, hence no ice being made. The bathroom sink in the master bathroom did not have a pull / push lever to keep orrelease water from the basin. I had to pry open the stopper as the control lever had never been installed. The owner of the unit did not offer any incentives of a discount to extend our stay. The reason we stayed as long as we did is because Port escapes staff went out of their way to help us over come the many obstacles that we got with unit # 211."

This is the nicest place in Port A. Amazing attention to detail. Views are incredible. You can watch huge ships navigate the shipping channel right from the living room. Excellent fishing steps away on the pier. Minutes from the beach. Walkable to great places to eat."

"Excellent stay!!
Excellent location, fantastic condo! The view is amazing, this condo is along the shipping channel, we saw small boats to large ships going up and down the channel all day. It is also a 5 minute golf cart/car ride to the beach!! Staff was VERY helpful. We had a few minor issues on arrival but they were resolved promptly!! We will be back!"

Great View of Fishing Pier. We where able to keep an eye on our Grandkids while they were fishing off the pier. They love it! The fishing was good. Small fish although fun. The master bath sink water pressure was very low. Could have used more linens and pillows. Other than these items everything was great. Plan to come back next year."

"Spring Retreat
The 4 night(May 11-14, 2016) stay was one of the most enjoyable ever spent in Port A. The view from the room was fantastic. The condo was very clean and comfortable. Beds were firm but comfortable. Bath rooms were exceptional. Kitchen had all essentials needed. Fishing off, or just setting and enjoying fresh air on the pier is great. Close in to the stores and good eating. Only drawback for us "mature folks", four flights of stairs, does have three landings to rest in between. So pack light. We are making plans, now, to return in the fall. VERY ENJOYABLE."
