When when I first walked into the room I noticed the balcony you was out of order which nobody let me know before renting the room! The security there was a little uppity and telling people not to drive fast I've been annoying since he seemed bored. also I did see several pets with renters there I will never rent another condo from there ever again!"

"Great Getaway!
I took my two 16-year-old daughters and 2 of their friends for a little girls' beach getaway. The condo location was great, right on the beach and the condo itself was super cute, comfy, clean and nicely decorated. The master bedroom was huge and the king bed was super comfortable. Our only issue was the TV in the living room did not work. I called to have it repaired but the property management company office was closed for the day. I called again the next morning and they sent someone promptly to repair it. It took him awhile to figure out what was going on and he eventually fixed it but unfortunately, the fix was short-lived and the tv stopped responding to the remote control again. We were very disappointed as we were looking forward to unwinding with a movie in the evenings after a long beach day and weren't able to watch it on the big screen tv. Other than that, everything at the condo was great! "

"You should know.....
You should know several things:
1. No elevator, third floor, many stairs.
2. View is not worth it.
3. Not really beach front.
4. Inside is nicely updated.
5. Second bedroom has two twins, one with a trundle which is really only good for kids.
6. 12.00 for a beach parking permit good for a year, next time we will stay out a little further and just drive to the beach.
7. They were tearing up our parking space, turned off the water main for 3 hours when we were trying to get ready to go out.
8. Two nights cost over 800.00....not worth it."

"Good place to stay!
We came in on a Thursday evening and the first night was hectic. The condo we were staying in had something wrong with the breaker box and we kept loosing electricity. Frank (the onsite maintenance) went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure we were comfortable! He gave us his personal cell so he could come flip the breaker throughout the night. Port A escapes offered to move us Thursday night but we just toughed it out because we have 2 chidden under 5 and they were already in bed. Friday morning we got a call that Port A Escapes was going to be moving us and made sure we were 100% taken care of. All of this was out of everyones control but the customer service with the staff at Beachhead and Port A Escapes made the trip great!"

"405BH VAC. REVEIW
I was very impressed with the well stocked kitchen. I kept hitting my knee on the corner of the bed in the master bedroom, coming out of the bathroom, I stuffed a pillow between the bed and mattress, TV was to small. The condo was very clean and the staff we're very friendly and helpful. I was so happy that our rental was ready by 2:30. Thank you so much."

"Our First Experience as a Winter Texan
Except for the weather not being as good as would have liked, we enjoyed our stay in Beachhead Condos. The condo was well supplied and the rental company was extremely good at immediately taking care of any concerns we had. The updates made to the pool and pool area were fantastic! Looking forward to using the updated laundry area next year. The residents of Port Aransas were very welcoming!"

"August- 2018- nice condo but mothball smell ruined it for us
The condo itself was upgraded and nice, but the overwhelming smell of mothballs in the unit made the stay miserable. If they can fix that issue, it would be worth renting. It’s also clear that the cleaning service is basic- clean sheets and towels and basic sweeping, but not much else. There was still food splattered on the cabinets, dust and fingerprints on tables and TV stands, and filthy ceiling fans. As others have mentioned, the beds aren’t the most comfortable, but could have lived with that if not for the smell. The unit is located walking distance to the beach and has a nice pool on premises as well. Beware the TV in the living room is TINY and the one in the bedroom doesn’t work at all, so not sure what the point is unless you’re going to bring your own DVD player and cords and hook something up in there. The location and the overall condition of the unit we’re good, but the smell was just really unbearable. "

The location of the condo was great. There’s a boardwalk that takes you to the beach. Overall, the condo was nice. The king bed was a bit wonky as it slopes to the right. The door to the balcony didn’t shut but we were on the second floor. "

"Nice location and clean condo
Overall we enjoyed our stay. The space was adequate and the table was large enough for all 6 of us to sit around. We loved that we were able to walk to the beach just down the boardwalk.
The place was clean, but the sofas' finish was disintegrating. The 'fully stocked' kitchen was a little light on cooking utensils and cookware. Though the freezer kept the ice we bought frozen, it took the freezer took 3 days to freeze our drinks we put in when we arrived.
The fridge kept everything cold and was nice and large.
The beds weren't really that comfortable, and though the bed in the master bedroom was lovely, it had an attack foot board that we all have bruises on our shins from accidentally hitting it on the way to the bathroom.
Also walking up two flights of stairs was difficult esp. when loading and loading the cars. But we were happy with our stay."

The property was in a great central location to everything in Port A. As far as the property's general condition, the furniture was kind of outdated, the beds were not comfortable, and the floor was obviously unswept. We found the kitchen very well stocked with all the necessities. Also, down where we parked under the unit, the insects we terrible !"

"Great Vacation
The only problem we had was the master sink would not drain unless we unscrewed and removed the plate at the bottom of the sink. We told the maintenance crew on the property but they told us they would have to order a new part. The condo was very clan and well updated. The beach access was very close, although this particular unit did not have a great ocean view. None of the TV remotes worked, and it would have been nice to have a TV in the master bedroom. We booked a 5 night stay and were only provided 1 trash bag which was an inconvenience, although the maintenance man gave me a couple extra for the kitchen when I approached him about the sink. "

"Family Vacation
We stayed in Under The Sea for 4 nights. We loved the location the most! Easy access to the beach was a huge plus! The only thing that was disappointin was that the remotes for the TV did not work (they weren't even the right brand) and there was a cable missing for the DVD player. We have a 2 year old, so in the afternoons, it would've been nice to havE been able to turn on a movie to relax. Other than that, our stay was everything we hoped it would be and more! "

Our stay was very enjoyable. The condo was updated and very clean and the overall condo complex was kept in excellent condition - The trash cans were emptied every day, the BBQ grills cleaned out, and the pool was crystal clear. Our kids enjoyed the playscape and the walk across the boardwalk to the beach was both beautiful and an easy two minutes.

The unit was clean and nice. And being near town with a direct boardwalk to the beach is the big selling point. Also, the pool is very well kept and better than most of the condo pools in that area. However, don't plan on cooking if you rent this unit. There are very few usable cooking tools in the kitchen. "

Everything was updated, clean, well maintained, well managed and well stocked with everything needed to make our stay stress free. "Vacation at the Coast
Our family rented two condos from PAE for 2 days in Nov. The condos and the stay and the weather was really great. We know that the property company owns several condo properties down there so it may be hard for them to know what each specific room has as far as furnishings. When we called to see if specific rooms have specific items the staff did not know so it was basically a **** shoot if a room had a iron, hair dryer or a slow cooker ect or not. As customers we need to know what to bring. In my opinion a very simple solution would be to audit each room create an MS Excel worksheet mark off the items that each room has so it can be easily searched by room number with ease. Nice condos!"

The property was great but management was a little rude and snoody. My daughters and I were swming in the pool five minutes after the pool closed we were asked to leave and the manager followed us down to the park area and watched us for At least 10 minutes. I felt like a child that was being disobedient. Not a way I want to feel while enjoying my vacation and amenities I paid for. Other than that experience the room and views were amazing. "

This is a lovely unit. We arrived late Friday ans noticed the floors were very sandy. We called the management company the next morning and they sent cleaning staff right away. Very nice updates, nice private balcony view, pool is very clean and never crowded. Would rent this unit again. Now, for the negative: the couch in this unit is awful- you can't sit in it without it sinking all the way down above your knees. Also, there are no kitchen utensils to speak off- a few wooden spoons and a potato masher- that's it! So, cooking was a challenge. It would be nice to have a TV in the master bedroom."

The condo was surprisingly comfortable, and had plenty of additional beds that we weren't expecting. The kitchen was clean and had plenty of clean utensils and plates. We enjoyed the proximity to the beach and the access to the pool. The internet didn't work very well at all, which was a shame. And we found the keys they provided to not work very well with the front door lock ... and it was annoying to struggle to lock the door each time we left the condo. Other than that, this was a pleasant stay!"

"sorry--bad review
We love Port A, and Beachhead is a great location(great ocean view). This is the second unit we have stayed in, and when staying a month, the furnishings leave a lot to be desired.
The bathrooms had been remodeled beautifully, but there was no drawer in the vanity or a medicine cabinet to keep the many toiletries one needs during a month. The towels were excellent.
The couch was unusable--if you sat down, you were lucky to get up again. Poor mattresses(the twin beds were too short for adult male).
There was something with the wooden floors--feet always got dirty--would have to wash bottoms of feet after walking on it(we didn't want to wear shoes and bring in sand).
Old tv(not great picture).
i know it's up to individual owners to replace furnishings, but it's too bad the rental office can't set some standards. We don't expect luxury, just comfortable!"

"Port Aransas GREAT Escapes
This was our first experience with Port Aransas Escapes and I have to say, it was a great one. The Condo was very nice and clean and was very close to shops, dinning, and grocery store. The grounds are well kept with a playground and direct beach access making it much very easy for our family to plan our day. The property was quiet and intimate and just what we were looking for. "

It took two phone calls to finally get someone to send an email confirmation of the reservation. We usually stay at the beach-front Sand Piper so we were a little disappointed at the obstructed view of the Ocean and discouraged by the longer walk to the beach. Otherwise, unit 405BH was recently renovated with modern anemities which make cooking in the kitchen a pleasure. "

" We visited Port Aransas with our friends. The Beachead condo's are located close to the beach and are well furnished. The Gulfview balconies are an added bonus. My kid said "This place feels like home". We will surely go back to this place again.
Great location. We were on the 2nd floor and when it rained on saturday, there was no covered walkway to reach our condo. We all got wet."

We are very happy with the overall experience. I just wish that the person that checked us in was a little more accomodating. We arrived a little bit early - 3:00pm and she told us that we can't check in until 4:00. She then called at around 3:30 to tell us we can now check in. It was a little irritating after an 8 hour drive. The room was clean but had some crickets in the bedroom & bathrooms and trash from our room was never picked up. "

"Port A - A great place for families!
This is second year I have taken my daughter and my two grandsons (ages 9 & 6) to Port A. They actually requested to return this year. We played in the surf w/skim boards, tubes, etc. Flew kites, built sand castles and looked for shells. Restaurants are close and good food. We especially liked the Brewing Company pizza place. Saw beautiful sunset from Virginia's by the Bay. The Coldwell Banker people we dealt with were wonderful and so very helpful. Condo was large enough for us all and couldn't have asked for a better location. My 6 year old grandson says that the excitement of seeing your condo for the first time and getting a feel for the place is one of his favorite things. You passed his test. See you all at Port A next year!"

Beachhead condominiums is a nice place for Port Aransas vacation. We rented 2 condos, stay at 405, and 406. VERY please with 406. The kitchen has been recently renovated and I love the style. Unit 405 on the other hand was very outdated and had a distinct old smell to it. I had a great time either way. The pool is just a regular pool but I had lots of fun there. I wished the volleyball court was filled with sand instead of shells. The picnic tables and outdoor grills were nice. Beach access is nice too. Overall I highly recommend this place. Please management, could you replace the shells and rocks on the volleyball court to soft sand. Thanks!"

"A Perfect Spot for Relaxation!
This location is perfect! It's at the Gulf and very conveniently located ~ near shops and restaurants. The Unit itself was very well maintained and comfortable. Furnishings looked as thought they had been recently added, and there was a freshness to the if it had been aired out frequently, and cared for with TLC! This is a very well maintained property, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a hassle-free vacation at the Gulf.
My only criticism: the front door doornob was loose and hard to manage. A replacement lock is in order. The deadbolt lock was very easy to lock from the inside, but not able to be locked with a key from the outside. I prefer double security, so these locks could definitely be looked at."

I took a group of people to stay in a couple of these condos, and we all had a great time. The walk to the beach is very easy (although we weren't carrying anything). We were all adults, but I could see this being great for a small family as well."

"We really enjoy the location and the facilities
The unit's general condition was ok. The AC unit drain tube clogged and leaked but staff did an excellent job of responding and getting it fixed. The only improvement would be updating the unit we rented and cleaning the carpets. The carpet needed some attention. Great location, good value, nice pool, lawns and bbq pits, can walk to the beach. Always enjoy our stay at the Beachhead. Property management reps were very helpfull. Hope to be back soon."

"Too Much $$ for Little
It takes the fridge 24hrs for temp changes to take affect so be prepared you food and drinks to be warm until the end of the next day, this should be done by the property since they know you are coming. We stayed here last same number of people year paid less for a two bedroom(1 queen/2 twins) condo was large and was right at beach entrance, this time reserved two bedroom(3 queens) condo was much much smaller for the price we paid, was told it was close to the beach entrance it we were three buildings away. First time we stayed there were told one price when we got were charged another, this time was told total was $X and reservation was $X got receipt by email 24hr later reservation was over by $50 and total was over by +$200. Called to get this correct and was told I had to call the next which I did and thankfully was fixed received 2nd email 24hr later showing correct amount. However, at the time of check (2 empolyees in office one at desk and one at a computer)office tried to charge the incorrect amount I informed them that they were incorrect and it wasn't until I pointed that out did the employee at the computer say that it was the incorrect amount that they just forgot to print/pull the correct information. From now on I will be choosing portaescapes or beachhead condo for our vacation rentals."

Room 405 was old and horrible, ac did not work, very few dishes, no view what so ever.Room 406 was great awesome, everything was new 405 sucks!"

"Peace and Quiet!
Beachhead Condo's were extremely quiet, and so close to the beach. It was exactly what I needed to unwind after a lot of stress this past year! I will be booking again! The only problem I experienced was that the kitchen floor was extremely sticky, and I had to buy cleaner and mop it thoroughly. Also, Under the Sea could do with an "updating" as fare as the decor is concerned. Despite those two issues, the peace and quiet made the stay worth the money!"
