"October 9-14
I rented 3 units last week. One of the units - 4291 - was a bit of a nightmare with construction taking place thru much of the day. Since we had weather and unit was occupied by a young family needing naps, the stay was most disruptive. It was so bad my daughter was able to take an audio recording of the noise. Net, you never should have rented this unit while the demolition was taking place so close. Otherwise, the units were as expected."

"Great time at Sandestin
We enjoyed 4226 at Sandestin. Despite nearby construction, our time there was pleasant and enjoyable. The condo is nice and has a good view of the beach and sunset. The Sandestin resort is lovely and is it’s on ecosystem. "

"Quick Trip
Out of all the trips we have booked this experience, we had a bit of issues with the service.
When booking we had reached out regarding our flights being late night and asked for them to work w/ us they asked for us to touch base the day prior to check out yet needing a more definite answer we reached out again the day on arrival. There was no budging on the checkout which was extremely frustrating for we had no control over the flights and were left with a day of not having a location to rest at. All previous hosts w/ have been gracious to give us a later checkout of 2 to 4 pm understanding that flights are beyond the control of booking. This process was more like a hotel which is one reason we used and not a hotel. They in addition made us sign a second contract with them outside of . They also left us with little items for the week for use in toiletries. Thirdly there were no beach chairs as stated in the unit, and when renting the ones with sandestin on the beach we were charged double because we did not book through sandestin. Previously all units have provided beach towels and chairs for flight guests yet not this unit. The twin beds were hard. The lawn chair on the balcony was so rusted that when using our towel it ruined our towels because they had no cushion on it. The service fee continued to change and was not a set fee when we were looking at the booking of the unit. There was a hole in the master window and bugs could fly in. And there were no screens on the doors , to leave the doors open and hear the beautiful ocean sound. The pool pump of the other building was so loud if hummed non stop. Yet on the positive the view was amazing, the temp was amazing, the unit was clean and water was spectacular. Minus the aggravations the trip turned out well. "

"Great for a last minute stay and price was right
We have stayed at Sandestin for years in the Beachside towers. It is the best location right on the beach. This was a last minute spring break trip so we were very limited in availability. Condo was overall good and the price was good too, but could use a few improvements. Master bath needs updating the huge garden tub/shower is hard to get in & out of. Towels were tiny and rough. Kitchen cookware needs to be replaced. The rusted lounge chair with no cushion is pointless. Looks like the patio table was new but the pvc chairs need to be updated too. A few more changes would go a long way. Updated hardwood look floors are nice, condo has been painted gray, there is a newer sofa than what is shown (new one is navy blue), with a lounge section on one end, new round glass coffee table and the console for the tv has been updated too, so it looks like they are trying! Overall it was a good stay. "

"3 Generations at the Beacg
This was a great place to stay. It’s convenient to everything and made beach access easy for my 86 yo mom. The unit was clean. The kitchen is stocked with basics - but that’s it. The pictures are what the unit looks like. It was also near the elevator. Also good for getting to the parking lot. I wouldn’t hesitant to stay here again. "

"A substitute unit with some shortcomings.
Gibson moved us to this unit when our Beach Manor unit was damaged. It was an okay unit. Poor wifi (requiring tech support) and uncomfortable living room furniture were of note; but the beds were very nice. We slept well. We prefer Beach Manor because the beach over there is uncrowded. Although not far down the beach from there, SanDestin had a very crowded beach - not up to Covid spacing in our opinion. We appreciate Gibson's effort to accommodate us."

"Another great stay!
This is the second year we’ve stayed at Beachside 2 and it was great! The bldg is right on the beach. Very clean and well-maintained. Even after the hurricane went thru a couple weeks before, you’d never know it by the way everything was taken care of. The condo itself was spacious, well stocked, the bed was comfortable, and of course the view was fantastic!"

"Excellent vacation rental!
Overall a great place to rent! Very clean, great location and view is amazing!! The pictures are accurate. The beds are comfortable, enough linens are supplied and it’s nice to have a few beach chairs and an umbrella. Understand these are not the resort beach chairs and umbrella that are set up for you. Those are not included in the rental. There are lots of restaurants and shops nearby and it is a nice drive into Destin. A few minor issues - the walls are pretty thin so can easily hear your neighbors. And it would have been nice to have a larger chopping knife and a broom. I’m sure if I had contacted the management company they would have supplied a broom, but we didn’t. We came back from the beach a couple of days to find a very strong smell like nail polish remover. Not sure what it was, was not there every day and again, we did not notify management co about it as the smell did not last long. These small issues were not a big deal and overall the condo was fantastic!! We look forward to being able to visit again and would absolutely stay here again! "

"Family of 4 to the beach
Amazing! The view, the placement of the unit, the amenities, the staff, we couldn't have asked for a better first time to Destin...other than our last 2 day we had a riptide warning keeping everyone out of the water. So we lost a couple days, but the unit was perfect. We have already talked about a return visit. I could go on for a long time about all of our experiences in Destin, but being first time users and having this unit - we will be return customers. "

"A cold stay at Beachside II
The grounds are beautiful, the condo was large and well furnished. Tennis courts are set up for pickle ball instead of tennis. Tennis raquet stayed in the car. Pool was not heated - swimming goggles for lap swimming stayed in the bag.Excessive contractor noise from just below us. Beautiful veiw, great condo, extremely cold weather."

"Super Clean and Beutiful View
We have vacationed in Destin for 6 years and I must say this condo has been one of the cleanest placeses we have stayed. Bravo to the cleaning service! The view was awsome and is located on the 3rd floor. The elevator(not busy at all) is 10 steps away from your front door and is not the same elevator used by 90% of the condos so you will never be bugged by foot traffic. We called this our private elevator. I would book this again next year! "

The property management company was awesome. Very easy to make reservations. The app giving details for codes and transportation information was excellent. Unfortunately the unit we stayed in was very outdated and needs a total remodel. Bathrooms included. IMO it needs to be removed from the rental program until a remodel is completed. "

"Good time
Our family had a good time while we were there. The condo was nice. My only complaint would be that the hot water doesn't last very long and the beds were not comfortable at all (very hard). We had a wheelchair bound person traveling with us so we knew it was going to be a tight squeeze for him but we were able to make it work. I wish we could've stayed longer and had been able to explore more because I know there was a lot we didn't see. Maybe a site map would be helpful. We had a good time. "

"Beach Vacation
We enjoyed our first stay to Sandestin. We liked this condo there is an elevator right outside the door and goes to the parking garage, much faster than the main elevators. We were on the 3rd floor. Our Bedroom view for this unit was blocked somewhat by palm trees but the patio had a great view. The A/C was cold, great kitchen, bathrooms, cable tv and internet were all fine. Great beach access and pool with a 9 1/2 ft deep end!!!"

The condition of the pull out couch was so bad it was uncomfortable to sit or sleep on .We used dinning chairs instead of couch.We took turns sleeping on it . The king size bed mattress should have been replaced last year. Pick a different unit"

"Quick Beach Trip for Family of Four
Our family of four (kids ages 6 and 10 years) enjoyed our 4-day, 3-night stay at Beachside II 4226. The beach view from the room was amazing. It is on the 3rd floor and very close to the elevator, which was a plus. Our kids enjoyed playing on the beach and swimming in the pool. Although we had a great stay, here are the reasons I didn't give a 5-star review for this condo. (1) The master bed needs a better quality mattress. The mattress is hard and uncomfortable. A nicer bed would be a plus but at a minimum the mattress needs updating. (2) The master bathroom tub needs updating/repairing. It's completely functional (with great water pressure which is a definite plus!) but it is outdated and has some damaged areas. (3) There is also mold on the ceiling above the tub. (4) The kitchen has a modest supply of kitchen items but could use some basic items like salt, pepper, cooking oil, etc, the kinds of things most guests forget to bring. (5) Also, the bathroom rugs are pretty cheap and old. Please invest in nicer (and softer) rugs. (6) The trash bags provided are very thin and tear easily. We had to clean up the floor when one of the bags (not even half full) split and dumped garbage on the floor. (7) The dryer took 2 hours to dry 3 beach towels so I would recommend checking the heating elements and the dryer vents. We would stay at Beachside II again but would like to see these items updated/repaired (at least a new mattress in the master bedroom). Also, if you stay at Beachside II and don't want to rent a chair/umbrella ($$), you need to get to the beach early because they take up a lot of the space right in front of the waterline. That is very frustrating considering the beach area is private for guests of Beachside II. Having to sit behind 2 rows of chairs (mostly empty) and umbrellas isn’t fun when you’d like to see the ocean. Lastly, the phone app for checking in the property was an awesome feature! Check-in was super easy!"

"Great views
The place was great - overlooking the beach/gulf as advertised. Having the tram available to take you to restaurants at Baytowne Wharf was nice. The only thing our room was missing was a toaster and the neighbors would occassionally go out on their deck and smoke which would instantly ruin our time outside since that's all we could smell but overall this was a great place to stay and we would recommend it to anyone."

"Had a great vacation!
We had a great stay. The condo had nice décor and provided pretty much everything we needed. Loved that it was on the beach! The only downsides were the carpets need to be replaced and both toilets need a little work...they would keep running. This was a good area because we were between Destin and 30A which had the places we wanted to visit. I would stay at Beachside again."

"Disappointed in our Stay
we have rented through Gibson for a long time. However, this time was different. The first night our A/C was out, so neither we nor our kids slept very much. Gibson didn't have the A/C fixed until the evening of the following day. They should have offered to credit us back at least for that one night since it was hot in the room and unenjoyable. They didn't offer, and that was disappointing to us, and not very professional.
Second, the beach in front of Beachside 2 Condos was VERY overcrowded. Tough to even find a place to sit where you can watch your kids play in the ocean. Here's the reason: many of the people who stay in the rest of Sandestin Resort across the highway (who pay much lower prices to do so) come over to the regular access part of the beach, which is in front of Beachside 2. However, if you are paying premium prices (albeit in part for the view) for a beachside condo, you should at least have enough room on the beach where you and your family don't feel claustrophobic. As a result of this, the week was not very restful or relaxing.
We probably won't do it again. Sandestin has got to find a way to fix this problem. It's not fair to pay premium prices and get the same access as everyone else, and then on top of that be asked to pay $250 (yes, $250!!!) for an umbrella and chairs rental on the beach for a week. [we didn't do that - go some cheap chairs intend].
