"Wonderful Condo!!
Condo unit A404 is absolutely amazing. The views from the balcony are stunning!! Our family of six adults were so amazed at the condo. So very clean and you can tell it has been well taken care of. The kitchen is so well stocked with everything you need. The master bedroom is unbelievable with its views . You can hear the sound of the waves all night! It was the perfect condo for our family. You can’t go wrong with this unit. Also the property is well taken care of. The pool area with the gas grills is so nice. We grilled out twice during our stay. The condo is in a great location and it is a beautiful drive from the airport. Many of our excursions were close by which was convenient. We were not ready to depart because we had such an amazing vacation in Maui. The condo again was amazing!! We will certainly be back. "

"Dream Vacation
This unit is so close to the water. You can spend your time counting whale breaches from the large balcony or from the luxury of your bed. It was perfect for our family of six adults. The kitchen is very well appointed. There was always barbecues available any time of the day. The pool is a perfect temperature and the hot tub is huge, alloying for personal space even with many people using it. There were plenty of beach towels, beach chairs and toys for use in the unit to enjoy the ocean, which is just steps away. We love playing pickleball and had no difficulty getting on the court. The mini golf and outdoor shuffle board were fun in the afternoon. Parking was plentiful and we never had to park far from our unit. If you stay here, you must visit Papi’s Ohana for their cinnamon buns. Don’t let the line up scare you, it goes quickly and the staff is lovely but get there early because they are generally sold out by 11:00 am. Highly recommended this accommodation."

"Great location
The condo was very nice. Clean and had everything you will need on vacation (minus shampoo and conditioner). It is nicely updated except the carpet on stairs. Location was great. Food trucks and other restaurants close by. A short walk to sand beach but can use lawn chairs next to the ocean on the property. We had a slight hang up with the code to the door upon arrival which was quickly fixed by the rental company. My only other hang up is that it’s advertised as “pent house” when in reality it is a very nice 4th floor condo. While there are ocean views from the living room and master bath, the lanai is only off the living room. The third bedroom is actually a loft with bath—very nice but not private and can be noisy if other family is up before whomever sleeps there. I was expecting a third bedroom with door and the pull out couch to be in loft area. That was my mistake however as I apparently misread the description. Enjoyed our stay but would probably find a condo with an actual third bedroom with door and more lanai area to enjoy the beauty. "

"Great unit with a fantastic view
The unit was very nice with everything we needed to fix the several meals we prepared. The living room was large and comfortable. But the view is fantastic. We spend most of our "in unit" time on the lanai watching the turtles, the beach combers, and the famous Maui sunsets. After all those compliments it seems a shame to have a complaint, but it did affect me. The deck chairs were so high and so heavy I struggled to climb up on them every time I went out to the lanai, (which was several times per day). I'm 5'3" so I'm not exactly a shrimp. But we had a wonderful stay."

Fabulous place. Plenty of room for a family of 6. Loved the views from the lanai . We saw many whales & sea turtles sitting on the lanai. The property was great. Loved that it wasn’t as crowded as some of the resorts yet close to anything we needed. The home had everything you need. We loved it. "

"Another wonderful Papakea stay
Papakea during whale season is always wonderful but the addition of perfect weather and a stay in A404 made it exceptional. made everything easy as can be, communicated quickly and answered every question. The unit is well furnished with comfortable beds, perfect lanai furniture and every possible tool for the kitchen. Having three bedrooms and baths was a real plus. Spend the extra bucks and get that expanded unit. You won't be sorry! "

"Amazing Family Vacation
My family visited Maui and stayed at the Papakea Resort. The unit was better than expected. The views are breath taking. The unit was well equipped, very clean and a great location.
We had seven with us. Two couples and three kids (8,11 and 14). There was plenty of room. The girls loved the beach, the pool and lai making.
We can’t wait to go back. "

"Nice but a bit uncomfortable
The condo itself is quite beautiful and has all the amenities one could need. Having three bedrooms (1 actually a loft) and three bathrooms was wonderful. However, the furniture was very uncomfortable. The tables and chairs on the lanai were very hard and too tall to sit on comfortably. Because of their height, they would also be very dangerous for children to sit in since the kids would be sitting above the height of the railing. The dining chairs were also quite hard and some were wobbly. The couch was ok but the material was scratchy. The beds in the main bedroom and back bedroom were very hard. The bed in the loft was a bit better. I would stay at this resort again but not in this condo."

"Fantastic Condo
The picture of the patio actually needs updating. They have a great high table out there now with at least 4 chairs. It is unbelievable how close you are to the ocean. It was blissful sitting out there. Several times, I could see a sea turtle swimming out in front due to the ocean proximity.
The beds were quite comfortable. Even with the door and windows closed, you could hear the ocean in the main living area and the primary bedroom.
The condo was incredibly clean, was very well stocked with items such as spices that would be expensive to purchase for the amount needed.
Also, the kitchen was well stocked for anything one would need. They had things I wish I had in my kitchen. I was also impressed with child sippy cups and plates. They thought of everything. They had beach chairs, boogie boards and noodles which really came in handy.
It is not what one would think of when you hear the term "central air", but it functioned well and I was very grateful for it.
The management company was great and Papakea Resort is nice and very well maintained.
I would absolutely stay here again!"

"Amazing views on the Ocean!
This was by far our favorite place we’ve stayed in Maui with our whole family. You can’t find a better spot on the water! The sunset was on our lap every night either on the lanai or from the master bedroom window! I loved hearing the waves at night! The location is perfect you are in walking distance to many stores for needed groceries as well as the taco truck area is excellent for meals with a great ambience at night! We love the grounds of the Papakea resort. We played shuffleboard, pickle ball, used the pool, the barbecues, and it’s a couple minutes away from the long walking path that takes you all the way to Kanaapali in Whalers Village. The kitchen had everything we needed. There were 3 boogie boards, 3 tommy bahama beach chairs and an umbrella. Beach chair and umbrella could use replacing. It was awesome having 3 full bathrooms, washer/dryer, and even a built-in vacuum system that was great for cleaning floors as needed. We really have no complaints other than the air conditioning exhaust unit is on the lanai and blows hot air which comes into the unit if the doors are open. Makes the lanai warm as well. We think it is attached to multiple units because when our air conditioner was off it was still blowing hot air. Not a dealbreaker but definitely some thing to note. We stayed here with our adult children and we all loved our stay. We wanted to rent it again next year but it was already booked! Definitely looking for a condo in Papakea Resort again! "

"Relax with views
We came to Maui for a wedding and other groups stayed at Papakea the property was so much fun to hang out with others. The unit is fully stocked, with EVERYTHING you need including spices to cook with. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are updated and clean. The views are perfect for whale watching or sunset. The location is perfect! You can walk to the fish market, and Java Jazz. Aloha vacation rentals are extremely accommodating. "

"Amazing oceanfront property
So close to the ocean you can fall asleep or wake up to the waves crashing on the shore. If you prefer quiet, just close the windows. We stayed in January 2022 and saw humpbacks walls off the lanai every day. Bring your binoculars to see the whales even closer. Loved using the beach gear stored under the stairs. Owner provided a couple beach chairs, cooler, sun umbrella, boogy boards, and snorkel/google set. Our kids loved their own space in the upstairs loft. Access to our room was delayed a little while as the combination lock on the front door had to be reset when we arrived. We used the putting green and pickleball on the property. Would have also played tennis, yet the tennis court was closed for 2 weeks for annual maintenance. Our family agreed we would love to return to this place again."

"Better than the pictures!
We were excited for our trip to Maui and couldn’t wait to get to our Rental unit. The descriptions and pictures in the ads were great, but you have to see it to believe it. Pulling back the curtains on the lanai was breathtaking, the place was spotless, the cabinets had every appliance and gadget we needed to make our stay amazing (and don’t forget the pools and beach...sea turtles right outside our window!). And Tina was great to work with: great communication, responsive, and helpful. Highly recommend. "

"Spectacular view and well stocked condo!
Sometimes pictures of rentals are not always completely accurate. Well this oceanfront, top story location was exactly what we expected and MORE! The sound of the waves lulled us to sleep every night. The three immaculately clean bathrooms were also a bonus, with lots of clean towels (for bath and for beach). The brand new high-end washer and dryer was another plus since we washed our towels and bathing suits every day.
A shout out to the Managers (Tina A. and Tina M.) who were extremely responsive and kind. Best Christmas ever!!!"

"Pandemic Pandemonium
Yes, the unit was great! It is well appointed and the views were incredible. Unfortunately for us,our Maui stay was during the Covid 19 Pandemic. Maui closed up shop and the resort closed all amenities. We could not enjoy anything except the view. Other than that, Papakea is a great resort.The grounds are beautiful. Old school Hawaii. Great location!"

"Beautiful Condo and a good location!
The condo was nicely furnished and updated. The sunsets were stunning and you could see clear to Moloka'i and Lanai!
Also, the mattress, pillows and linens were of high quality. Staff at the Registration office were more than helpful and it was nice to have a concierge service for recommendations and to book our activities.
Will definitely want to book the same condo again in the future.

"GREAT spot for a family
We stayed here with our little family (my wife and I and our two young kids) and my in-laws, and we LOVED this place. The room and the view is even more beautiful than the pictures show, and there’s so much to do and see within walking distance. There are lots of little beaches nearby, and the beautiful Ka’anapali Beach is a short drive away. The pools are great and the grounds are beautiful. We definitely recommend this place! "

"Condo stay in Kanapali
The location was beautiful. Our condo had a direct view on to the ocean. Every day, from the lanai, we saw whales playing. The Lahaina area was very convenient for all the activities we wanted to do. The condo itself was clean and well arranged. There were seven of us and with three bedrooms, a foldout sofa and three baths we were all comfortable. The kitchen had every item you could imagine as well as a few regular cooking items in the cupboards. The interesting thing we discovered is that when people leave after their stay they knock on your door and ask if you want their leftover items, such as soda or beer , etc. We did the same thing when we left. Sharing and not wasting is a good thing. There were two pools and gas barbecues available as well as yoga and pool exercise. The concierge service was a great help in panning how we spent our time during the week. This was a comfortable and convenient condo and we would consider a return visit. One proviso, there was a mistake in the door-code when we arrived, but was quickly corrected with a phone call."
