"Beautiful visit to the Big Island
Overall, a very pleasant visit to this property. Superb views of the ocean. Very quiet. Nicely appointed, especially the kitchen. Lots of supplies to enhance ones experience. Comfortable for my family and I would recommend it. The manta ray snorkel experience is only a 5 min drive away and would recommend.
Only ran into a couple of glitches. Given wrong directions to the unit and an incorrect parking space number by the management company, which delayed our entrance to the unit. They were very responsive to questions. Also, there is some type of mechanical unit in the primary bedroom closet that kicks in for just a few seconds every hour or two. It may wake you up if you're a light sleeper. Would still stay here again."

All around great stay at the condo. 1st off you cant beat the location or the views. Property was well stocked with most everything needed. Actually probably a little too stocked. Closets and pantries could use some cleaning out. Alot of multiple items etc that could use being cleaned out. Had no problems with bugs during my stay. Overall the property could use a good cleaning and refreshing. AC's worked great. All appliances worked fine. In my opinion some attention to detail as far as cleaning and getting rid of clutter could really help bring this up to top notch standards. Updating towels and bedding would also help alot. Loved our feral cat we called boots that visited us everyday. Neighbors were friendly and quiet. Parking was easy. Overall a great vacation. "

"Needs improvements
Overall disappointed in our 12 day stay here. On the plus side... the A/C and wifi work well, there’s plenty of towels and a newer washer / dryer. The complex pool and tennis courts are great. The cons... the place is more dingy than shown in the photos and it needs a deep clean. There are many ant traps throughout the unit, even on the kitchen counters. As soon as we arrived I contacted Knutson about the excessive ant traps and they explained that the ant traps are preventative. We did see some ants, mainly in the kitchen and one bedroom, but not as many as I feared. The patio furniture and bedsheets need to be replaced. New people moved into the unit above ours a few days into our stay. They were heavy walkers and stomped around late at night and early in the morning, ruining our sleep. I spoke to them twice in person and contacted Knutson who apologized for the issue, but it didn’t change. We enjoyed the island but would not stay here again."

Beautiful location. Some maintenance issues need to be addressed: 1. Ice maker not working. 2. Bedroom #2: Fan & light not working. Took 2 days to resolve. Very little room to hang clothes in closet. A bag of dirty rags and lots of "stuff" in closet, a bowl of dried and loose white powder in closet. We threw it away. Cabinet full of several sets of ragged sheets. No room to put clothes. 3. When Knutson was called to fix a bathroom window screen, the repairman did not fix the problem & did something totally unrelated then left the unit unsecured. Sliding door wide open. Not acceptable! Knutson did send another vendor the next day & problem resolved. 3. Toilet in Bathroom 1 not flushing correctly. 4. Kitchen: more dishes needed. Cookie sheets rusted, flatware mismatched. No potholders. "

"Ocean front view with privacy.
We stayed here seven nights. The layout is great for a small family and the ocean views and sound couldn't be better. The rental was well stocked and had everything needed. Because this is the very end unit, it is probably the most private in the complex. The complex itself is very quiet and clean. We would definitely stay here again. My only minor critisism would be the toilets are a bit finicky to flush. Communication with the management was simple and their directions/ rules were easy to follow. "

"Stunning sun set view
This is an obvious older resort, but it is very well maintained! The view is spectacular, and the beds were comfortable. Great price for a two bedroom with an amazing view! Unit is air conditioned (being from TX- this was very important to us). We did not use any other resort amenities but did see lots of "kids" around and especially at the tennis courts. We are a family of 4 with young adult children. We sat on the patio every single night to enjoy the sun set. Very peaceful. Would stay here again."

"Stunning View Wavw Watching
Stunning views from our condo very relaxing private patio area with views from two sides awesome location. Central location for Kona Waves were mega fun to watch. We saw some Humpback Whales from our patio. Loved the quiet of the condo. Met some nice guests and felt very at home and comfortable. I could love here easily. Want to come back. My sister has rented this condo six times this was my first visit. We brought my Mom here for her 85th and she loved staying in 5-104."

Liked the complex in general. Disappointed in the unit itself mainly because of the cleanliness of the unit. Numerous things we all agreed should be addressed.(I have rentals as well). No mattress pads-unsanitary, pillows badly stained and flattened (they should be replaced annually), pillows had no liners/protectors, again unsanitary. Linens in poor condition, thin, frayed, mismatched. Twin beds should be replaced with standard twins that can be joined together if desired. Those beds do not accommodate an adult comfortably, more like a juvenile twin. Bathroom floor tile, dirty. Towels old, only a couple washcloths. Only 2 beach towels for a unit that sleeps 4. Carpet stains, throw rugs dirty. 2 of the beach chairs old, stained & rusty. I dropped something that rolled under the dresser - yuck, all kinds of treasures under there. Waher/dryer area, lots of dryer dust. Vent may be clogged or broken. Several grocery items left in the unit from previous tenant. I have never experienced that in any vacation rental before, the refrigerators are totally empty on arrival and void of any odor. That refrigerator smelled awful when we arrived and I thank the mngt for their prompt response in re-cleaning the unit. Would not stay or recommend that unit."

Stayed 7 nights in this nice condo. View, view, view!! Nicely equipped, great location for quiet getaway. South of Kona but easy to get anywhere. As this a condo, neighbors are close, but overall a fairly private setting. Opportunities to improve: add staples like plastic wrap/ foil in kitchen, had to re-connect TV to make work , had to reset breaker to make outlets work in bathroom, lanai cushions showing wear, consider adding adult snorkel gear and working portable cooler. Overall great stay!"

"Fantastic Sunsets
We are from the east side of the island and live in a lush botanical garden so we don’t get to see sunsets and we get lots of rain. It was our 25th wedding anniversary and our first visit to the west side this year. I wanted calm water, no rain, spectacular sunsets, and a clean and comfortable place to stay. I was NOT disappointed.
The location is the best! The living room foto is as it truly is. The other rooms are small, especially the bathrooms, but the view and lanai more than make up for the lack of inside space. Being on the ground floor was a bonus because it extended the lanai space and there are no elevators. Be aware it is a bit of a walk to the front door if you are carrying a lot.
It’s an older, remodeled unit that still needs a few minor repairs and replacements. Nothing to worry about tho.
There is lots of beach equipment in the back bedroom closet as well as beach towels.
Since there were very few guests on the property (I don’t think tourists were being allowed on island yet) we had the large, beautiful pool to ourselves. But...there was lots of construction going on...probably taking advantage of a lack of visitors.
Yes! I would definitely recommend this unit.

"Tranquil unit with minor issues
Firstly, unit is very beautiful, quiet, and convenient.
Check in was easy, and private gate entrance was a plus.
Unfortunately, split A/C was not working(we were informed 2 days prior to stay), the guest shower drain was clogged, the hot water heater was not turned on, and the master bath toilet was leaking inside the tank.
Fortunately, Blake was able to remedy most of the issues(except A/C) over the phone, or by sending a plumber over the next day.
Even so, we would return for another vacation here."

This is a unique property which I had visited before and once again had an amazing time. You'll likely have seen the pictures of the ocean outside and yet the location and view is even more dramatic when you arrive. The water comes right up to lava rocks beyond the lanai which has a full 180-degree view of the ocean, with Kona to the north and the hills to the south. The unit interior is great as well. Highly recommended!"

"Excellent property at a great location
Recently spent five days on the Big Island after visiting Oahu and Maui. We had expected this to be the best stay among the properties we stayed at on the three islands, and it certainly delivered. Upon arrival we found the condo to be clean, well equipped, and well stocked of supplies. Instead of heading back out looking for things to do, we stayed in and enjoyed the sunset on the lanai. The condo is only a couple of minutes away by car, from Kahalu’u Beach Park, which is also reachable on foot. While the beach park lacks a sandy beach and is a bit rocky, it is an excellent location for snorkeling and I found the density of fish here even higher than that at the highly-rated Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve on Oahu - even when standing onshore by the 2nd lifeguard station, I counted more than 50 yellow tangs in sight (due to their bright colors), and I saw much much more underwater. It is also a great location for beginners to learn surfing, which my wife and children enjoyed, during one of the surfing sessions they even paddled out alongside a turtle. My wife plays in the USTA League and her team had just advanced to the Middle States Sectional Championships, she brought her tennis racket along hoping to practice, but never got the chance to play on Oahu and Maui. She reached out to the tennis pro here, Cheryl, to schedule a lesson. She enjoyed the first lesson so much that she had a daily lesson during our stay, and our 10-year-old took a couple of lessons as well. My wife found Cheryl to be not only an excellent tennis coach, but also a great person; this particular experience made our stay exceed the already high expectations. To everyone we highly recommend this condo, Keauhou-Kona Surf & Racquet club with its three tennis courts in excellent condition and well lit at night, and last but not least tennis pro Cheryl. We hope to return in a few years. Working with Knutson & Associates was a breeze, will not hesitate to book with them again on our next visit."

"Exactly as Presented, and That's a Good Thing!
First of all, the view from the unit is exactly as it appears in the photos, when you sit in the living room or on the large deck, all you see is the lava wall and the water beyond. Very nice indeed. We were there in August, 2019 and it was extremely hot in the area, and we were glad that the unit was air conditioned and quite comfortable day and night. Many of the units in the same development do not have AC (ours was apparently added by the owner) and the people in them were clearly suffering with all doors and windows open and fans running. If you're thinking about booking a different unit at the complex, make sure it has AC or make sure the time of year won't require it. The furnishings in this unit were all first class, everything was there that you could want or think of, from wine openers to beach toys. It is a bit of a walk from the designated parking spot to this particular unit, but the payoff is you have a very quiet end unit with nobody walking by. All in all, just as advertised. Two big thumbs up. "

"Paradise but be aware of open master bedroom
Amazing rental with wonderful location. Unit was in great condition. Air conditioning was nice but rarely needed unless we happened to be there mid afternoon. Sleeping with windows open and fans on was great! This unit would be great for a couple, family with small children, girls getaway, etc. However, though there is plenty of room there is little privacy for the main "bedroom". It worked great for the two of us but does not provide two private bedrooms. As long as you are aware of what the rental provides in terms of privacy for the bedrooms you will not be disappointed. Wonderful location right on the water, very well maintained. Note that though there are plenty of fins and snorkels in the unit, there were no masks that we could find."

Very clean & well stocked oceanfront rental at the end of the pedestrian walk, so there is almost no foot traffic making this unit quite private. It is on a black magma bluff & there is no swim beach below, but the wave action against the cliffs make for a changing view plus if you are in the master bedroom, for relaxing sleep while listening to same. No TV in master but with the waves, who cares?"

"Condo #5-104 Review Kona Surf & Racquet Club
We enjoyed the location of this condo and the incredible view, but this condo needs some work. I should have called the day we arrived, but instead shared our concerns the day before we left. Upon our arrival both bathrooms smelled incredibly bad. I would compare it to an Outhouse smell. My husband and I put numerous kettles of hot water down both sinks and showers to try and eliminate the odor. The p-traps need be thoroughly cleaned! Awful smell. Also all screens to the outside patio did not open. We ended up only going in and out of the bedroom door, and kept the screen open since none of them worked. Needs major work. The sheets on the master bed do not fit the bed (the flat sheet came off every night). New sheets necessary. A minor fix is a drawer knob in the kitchen which came off immediately on our first use. I feel this property needs a major cleaning, the back bedroom closet needs to be organized and all the artificial plants can easily be tossed. Too crowded with stuff. Beautiful property, just needs a lot of work and major deep cleaning."

"Paradise by the ocean!
We stayed in this complex before. So we knew the grounds were beautiful. But this unit was amazing! The lanai was huge! I didn’t want to go inside! The condo had everything you could ever need, was supper clean, and very modern. The air conditioner was awesome to have because it was crazy hot. I would definitely stay here again!! I highly recommend this unit!!"

"Perfect condo for Keauhou
We have stayed at the Surf and Racquet Club before, but when we walked into our unit (I hate to call it a "unit") we were blown away. Beautifully decorated and perched right on the ocean, it is the perfect place to stay while in the Kailua Kona area. The open floor plan with floor to ceiling sliders brings the outside inside. We were there in the middle of the summer and never turned on the air conditioner. If we were not exploring all the things to do in Kona, you could find us resting/reading/playing guitar in very comfortable chairs on the wrap around lanai. We also do a lot of cooking while we vacation, and the well-equipped kitchen was a delight to work in. Everything you need is there, including a temperature controlled wine storage. I have stayed at many places in the Kailua/Keauhou area over the years, and this is the best!"

There were a few items in the kitchen that needs to be corrected. There was no sink stopper. There needs to be more small drinking glasses. The plates are chipped and need to be replaced. There needs to be more serving dishes. Other than these minor things, it is a wonderful location. "

"Best Ocean view in Kona
Spectacular ocean views! Large comfortable sofa's and a good master mattress. Big open living room sliding doors and clean inside. Large kitchen and everything you’ll need to prepare meals. Local grocery market just minutes away. The management was also very easy to work with. No AC - afternoons were on the humid warm side. We slept with all the windows open at night get the cool ocean cross breezes. We will definitely stay again next time in Kona. "

This was one of the nicest condo's we have rented in the complex. It was clean and comfortable with an amazing view. We watched the sunsets, whales and dolphins. The BBQ was close, parking easy, close to shopping dining and food. All in all it doesn't get much better. "

"Wonderful condo with breathtaking views
We stayed three nights at this rental and it was my favorite out of the whole trip! Very comfortable unit with the best location of the whole complex. The complex is gated, clean and well maintained. Amenities include tennis courts, BBQ pits and pool which we didn't use. The pool is for "residents" only, not sure on rules for the courts. There's a semi-private beach on the other side of the complex, good for walking but not swimming. Neighbors are friendly/talkative, though some may think them nosy/intrusive. We had no issues with noise or loud groups. The unit is next to the golf course with walkable paths at sunset where you can walk by a blowhole in the lava rocks. Views of the sunset are unbeatable! Lanai is somewhat public access, but we only had strangers cross a couple times who were out to take in the views. Complex is also near shopping complex with many restaurants, large grocery store. It is just down to street from great snorkeling beach (Kahaluu). The unit was well equipped with kitchen basics, bathrooms had towels and shampoo dispensers, we especially enjoyed the beach gear ranging from chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, snorkel gear, beach towels etc. I loved the in unit washer/dryer. Beds were comfortable for my girls (age 3/2) and master had spacious bed. There is no AC, but plenty of fans and windows to take advantage of cooler breezes. Internet and TV were included and we used without issues. Several additional touches like library of guide books, ipod stereo added to the experience. Would highly recommend this place. Well worth it! "

Our experience was wonderful. We met Blake at his office because we arrived in Kona a little before check in. Blake let us store our luggage as we enjoyed a round of golf. After golf, Blake guided us to the property, and insisted upon helping us with our luggage. The corner Lanai was gorgeous, offering wonderful views of the ocean and the golf course. While not air conditioned, we had no problem, as we just opened the screens and the tropical breeze cooled us just fine. The bed was great, we slept well. The furniture was comfortable and there as a huge flat screen!! The location was just great to allow us to explore Kona, while still being a bit off the beaten path. Pool/tennis courts were amazing. Only minor issue was that the doors and windows locked, but screens did not. I expect the new property managers will fix that quickly. The condo was chock full of everything you needed - blankets, snorkeling gear, everything you need for your Kona adventure. We will never forget our trip to Kona staying at the Keauhou Kona surf and Racquet Club. I expect we will return sooner, not later."

"Magnificent setting
A great condo set right along the ocean. This is a corner unit on the ground floor and you have access to a beautiful lanai from both the bedroom and living room. We enjoyed many sunsets, huge waves and even saw some whales!"

"Wonderful Condo
Stayed at this beautiful condo for our 40th Anniversary and it was all we had hoped! Watching the sunset from the lanai was spectacular ! Very private being the end unit which made us feel like we were there alone. Very well kept, with everything there you would need to make your stay perfect!"

"Girls trip
The view from our lanai was fabulous! Four women , in our 50's and 60's, enjoyed the week we spent at this location. This was my 5th trip to Big Island and it was one of the best ocean views I've experienced. The large "L" shaped lanai provided plenty of room to sit or recline while watching sailboats, canoes, kayaks and occasionally dolphins going by.
The condo was supplied with a variety of items for beach use, chairs, towels, sunscreen, cool chests, etc. The kitchen had plenty of cook wear and dishes as well as most items one would need for meal preparation.
The one disappointment was that both the screens and the glass sliding doors were very difficult to open and shut. Getting them locked and unlocked was a pain."

"Nice Oceanside condo
This condo was mostly nice. The view and ocean sounds were great, except there was absolutely none from the master bedroom. I was forced to sleep in the spare bedroom and couch in order to enjoy the wave sounds. The unit was clean except for a load of dirty linens left unwashed in the washing machine. Also, there was a major tiny ant problem in the kitchen, which made for very difficult food prep. A service did come by to spray for bugs, but they sprayed across the full length of the living room mirrors, which left an unsightly dripping mess. The previous person also left the freezer open, so when we arrived,
there were two large bowls of water instead of ice. Just some mistakes, I'm sure. There were very comfortable beds and furniture, but no lounge chairs on the lanai. There were some other issues, but I won't mention everything. Overall our stay was very nice. Blake from the management company was extremely helpful."
