"Great stay, needs tlc
We love staying at the moorings, this was actually the fifth unit we have stayed in the last four years. We had several issues with the cleanliness of the unit. The a/c unit in the back on the condo had a severe musty smell that made it hard to sleep in. The unit overall wasn’t cleaned very well. The sliding door screens were all in disrepair and didn’t stay on track at all. The cable went out and took two days to repair. I can say that the property maintenance guys were top notch and quickly addressed this issue. I would say this unit could definitely use new beds as they were heavily worn. We had a wonderful stay and I’m not trying to complain, but this unit could use a little tlc. "

"May Vacation
We had a great week in Hilton Head. The villa was clean and spacious and we so appreciated being able to bring our dog. We had perfect weather. We reached out to the management when we had trouble with the ice maker and their response was quick and a very nice gentleman came to fix it and even followed up to be sure it was working properly!"

"Our First Stay in Moorings
This unit is in a great location. The one flight of stairs is easy to navigate. The unit is spacious and has the basics The owners have done some updating but there is still more that needs to be done. The sinks in all the bathrooms have been updated but the toilets and showers are in bad need of updates The showers in the master bathroom and other bedroom are old tub showers with very poor water pressure. The third bath has a walk in shower but very low water pressure also. We did have a quick response from the rental company when the master toilet overfloores just hours after we arrived. "

"Roaches
We have stayed in this villa for 2 years - 3 weeks each. It's cleanliness has definitely declined. It really is too bad because we love the location etc. We had numerous roaches and the dryer did not dry even though I called 2 times. We put laundary in and ran it for 180 minutes - and still not dry. "

"Great location
We have stayed in this unit a few times, it is at the end of the complex so neighbors only on one side. Very close to the beach and pool. The floor plan is nice as bedrooms are separated by living room and kitchen space. Clean and comfortable and dogs are welcome. Perfect spot for our family."

"Mediocre
Loved the location. The rental was pretty outdated and felt dirty with a musky odor. The backdoor was broken and maintenance didn't come until Monday morning. So we had to stay without a secure door for two nights with an infant. That was pretty disappointing."

"Spotlessly clean apartment in great location
The apartment is spacious and nicely equipped and we enjoyed the two balconies in the evenings.
A few minor things in the apartment could use an update (master bathrooms, couch in living room). But overall it’s a great place and we would come back again."

"Great Vacation in Palmetto Dunes
This unit accommodated our family of 5 with 3 older daughter (25, 18, 14) like no other property we have stayed. The master suite was perfect and the guest suite with 2 queen beds and en suite bath was just perfect. There was even a THIRD bathroom in the main living space which was unexpected and great for my husband and his many girls :-) Each bedroom even has it's own balcony overlooking the water inlet where kayaks and skimmers would float through daily.
The kitchen is clean and fully loaded and the living area was open and accommodative.
The property is steps from private beach access with a great little spot for food and beverages right there on the beach.
You can literally walk to the rental shop to rent more bikes and the 2 that came with the unit were such a bonus. We had a lovely tome!!

"Hurricane fear upset vacation
The condo was nice but difficult for seniors to navigate. No one welcomes us or called to che on our arrival. We were fearful Hilton Head would be evacuated (it was not) and told even if the island was evac we wouldn’t get our money back. If no insurance you are out of luck. No one to ask questions. Rental agency hard to find even we gps. Very disappointed in the vacation considering how much I paid."

"A Great Location
We would like to go back there next year and spend 6 weeks and tried to book it during our stay but it has already been booked for 2 weeks in the middle of our stay. It would have been nice had they checked with us before they rented it out for the 2023 for 4 weeks less than we wanted to book it out for. The furniture was old, a bit dirty and uncomfortable. The bit dirty comes with allowing pets but the lack of comfortable furniture could be taken care of. "

"A few steps to the ocean for me and my pooch!
This condo was perfect for what I needed. A quiet week at the beach with my dog. Everything worked well, check in was a breeze and it was well appointed. The location at Palmetto Dunes is something I really enjoy. You have access to an impressive array of amenities, from walking trails to kayaks, tennis and golf. A general store within walking distance and the little restaurant by the beach complete the bundle. Thank you for making this rental available to people who travel with dogs. I found HH in general is very dog friendly and dogs can enjoy the beach within very reasonable restrictions. A win win. I loved it. "

"We had a lovely stay
The condo was absolutely beautiful. They were so welcoming and love that they accepted our dog. We loved how close to the beach we were. The condo was beautiful. The only issues we had were that they didn't thoroughly clean under and behind things. We found a lot of dust and dog hair when we got there. Also the ice maker did not work right. We had to pull the ice out. Other than that everything was gorgeous and we had a marvelous time and hope to be back soon!"

"Great location.....but
The Moorings section is a great location with great access to the beach and the Dunes house. We have rented in this section before and it's starting to become our new favorite area (and we've been coming to HHI for 25 years nows). We booked pretty last minute (maybe a month ahead) and were looking for a Pet Friendly villa so we could bring along our mini-golden doodle. With the last minute booking AND needing pet friendly our options were pretty limited. #41 is functional but very tired and worn. Some things have been upgraded but most (paint, furniture, bathrooms, beds) have not. If we didn't have the pet-friendly requirement I think we could have found a better villa in the same or nearby complex. We paid a premium rate for summer and our requirements but this villa is not on the top-end of the Moorings, Villamare, Capts Walk, etc. or other surrounding complexes. At a reduced rate it might have been an OK deal but this is not a premium property -- it's just located in a great location. "

"Nice condo but lots of maintenance issues
The condo was big, in a great location and decorated nicely but the maintenance issues make it a no go for us again. There wasn’t an electrical plug working in any of the 3 bathrooms and we took lukewarm baths & showers all week because of too little hot water. It looked good and it was well stocked "

"Great Close beach apt that allows pets

"Filthy with old dirty furniture.
The Unit needs to be scrubbed from top to bottom. So gross. After being in the unit for 5 minutes our feet were black from filth. After several calls to the management company, the cleaning crew came back. This was suppose to be COVID clean. What a joke. I watched as they washed the floor and then rung out all the dirt onto the deck. I was told they can’t get help cleaning. Well then don’t rent the unit. The furniture was so old, lumpy, worn and uncomfortable. The couch had no padding left. The beds were comfortable but covers were really stained. We know this is a rental, but the owners really need to spend sometime here. What saved our vacation was that it was close to the beach. Oh and something was up with the air conditioner. "

"Very nice place
This condo is very close to the ocean. We have stayed here 3 straight years and really like this place. The owners will need to update the furniture soon and the dryer needs a lint trap or replaced. It takes forever to dry clothes because the lint trap seems plugged. "

"4142 The Moorings
We have stayed in Moorings many times and the condition of this particular property was not the best. However the 2 major issues that we encountered were addressed immediately and taken care of in a timely manor. When we 1st arrived the air conditioning was not working. They sent someone out immediately and resolved the issue. The door handle on the living room sliding door was completely broken and dangling, but they sent someone the next day and that issue was resolved as well. The overall cleanliness was not what we have experienced in the past. Our shower curtain was full of mold and I had to go buy cleaner which I sprayed on, let it sit for a few minutes and it cleaned it right up. So summing up, I would say this wasn’t the best experience we’ve had, but the management did address the problems quickly. But in my opinion these things should have been addressed before we arrived, I should not have had to spend time and money to clean as we pay a premium when staying at a villa through a rental agency."

Condo was nice, very convenient location. 2 or 3 minute walk to the beach. loved that the condo backed up to the lagoon! Only issue we really had was the back decks were dirty. Other than that, awesome stay at a nice condo!"

We were so close to the beach it was amazing! The condo was clean and we had plenty of starter products! Any time I called with a question (couldn't get bike lock off and couldn't figure out how to lock the front door) I left them a message, they called me back quickly and they came out and helped me quickly! They were so nice. This is a great location too!"
