"Spring Break Beach Trip
This house has a great location. A quick, easy walk 1 block walk to the beach. The beach is beautiful. Soft white sand, not busy during April, and dog friendly. The house was clean, stocked with towels, kitchen had everything you need, we enjoyed using the free bikes and beach chairs. We would return to this location in the future! "

Loved the location. My 5th year of renting on the Island. However, the house needs updating badly. Old bathrooms. Not as clean as it should have been. Area rug in living area was off white and loaded with stains. An easy fix. Sofa and pillows pretty shot.
Loved the layout. Pool good but again, deck not maintained. "

"Lovely beach rental
We really enjoyed 4 Night Hawk.This rental could do with some new furniture (chairs and is quite worn. There is a blind missing on the back door. The kitchen needs more towels and some pot holders for people who like to cook. The heater/AC does make a discernible noise. Other than was very enjoyable and close to beach."

"Family with Adult Children Getaway
We loved the location. We loved the fenced in yard for our dog. The main living space was ample for a family of 7 adults. Our main problem was the fourth bedroom across from the kitchen didn’t feel like a bedroom. It is across from the kitchen, only a barn door is present for privacy, the half bath is in that bedroom (teeny tiny), it’s a bunk bed with little clearance from the ceiling. Ok for small children and a family that sleeps late. Not ideal for adult children."

"Nice overall

House was great. Easy access to beach, Pool doesnt see much sunlight. Contractor had recently updated deck rails. Screws/nails were found all over the property which was very dangerous with people barefoot near the pool and beach. "

"Good Value but needs some TLC
This house is in an ideal location and could be perfect, but it needs attention. You can’t beat the North Forest Beach location and the very short walk to the beach. Questions during the stay were mostly answered within 24 hours, not within hours. Backyard is fenced and great for dogs, and the house was good for dogs. The Beach Chairs were nice and brand new. 4 bikes available to ride were also great. We didn’t use the pool every day as it was October, but it still was pretty warm and had a very shallow part that is a nice area to soak your feet. There were some mosquitoes though in the back yard. The front load washer worked but is very moldy, and kitchen was not terribly clean. We had to clean it ourselves before having guests over. No condiments, no oil, salt minimal soap, and we had to buy cleaning supplies (not even a sponge handy). Only 2 Trash bags provided for an 8 day stay and they didn’t fit the trash can (had to buy alternates to close the drawer). Shower curtain rods were very rusted which was odd. There were lots of towels, and dryer worked fine. Paper towels were cheap, and toilet paper was a lot like sandpaper. Had to buy replacements and cleaning supplies asap. Beds were comfortable and Heating and Air was good. Overall, a little TLC, some welcome items, and some small repairs would go a long way!"

"Great location-needs a little attention
We really enjoyed our time at Hilton head and for the most part really enjoyed our house as well. There were a few small things worth mentioning so other renters know what to expect. The washing machine definitely needs some attention as there was mold and mildew all around the front seal. A few boards on the front steps need to be replaced. When we first got in the house and certain times throughout our whole stay there was a bit of an odd almost a “wet dog” smell. The vent near kitchen needed to be cleaned badly. The pool was fantastic, location is amazing. We were told the pool cleaning people would be there on a certain day but weren’t able to tell us a time
Frame so we had to keep out of the pool and yard because our dog doesn’t tolerate strangers, upon returning to the house numerous times they still had not been there to clean it, and they actually never did show up so that was disappointing that we lost a day of pool time for nothing. For the price expected a little better maintained house, still fun"

"Overall A Nice Family Place To Stay
Pool was great for the 3 kids. There was easy access to the ocean and shopping. The pool water was a little murky and the bugs on in the shade had to be avoided. Some pool maintenance and bug spray control would help. Big gap at bottom of back entry door had to be sealed with a towel and front door would not latch. We feel maintenance folks would address those concerns immediately had we reported them."

"Minute Walk to the Beach
This home was a minute walk to the beach. On a quiet shaded street closed to restaurants and Harbor Town. Great private pool that could have been a bit warmer especially in the evening. The house furnishings need updated. A lamp was broken in the living room. The back door had a one inch gap that we used a carpet to close to keep out small lizards. The deck railing needs to be tightened - with our small grandchildren it was loose and a bit of a concern. With Covid19 we washed all the dishes and flatware as soon as we got there which was a good thing as there was food on the silverware and some of the plates. We also cleaned out kitchen drawers that had food and bugs in them. The countertop turned our cleaning rags black when we wiped it down. We called maintenance and they immediately sent someone to re-clean the countertop and the floor. The owners need to know that the cleaning company for the inside needs to be replaced they are doing their home a disservice. The pool was beautiful. The person who came to clean it mid week was meticulous."

"Great location
We really enjoyed our stay. The property was as described and very clean. The location is great. A 1-2 minute walk gets you to the beach. The pool was wonderful. A little small but a real treat after the beach for the 4 of us adults and 3 small grandkids. The pool is shaded mid to late afternoon so it provided relief from the sun. The bikes were in good working order and there were extra beach chairs and boogie boards. We thought that the kitchen was well equipped with ample cooking utensils, pots, pans, etc. We did alert the rental agency of a couple of very minor things that needed attention and a little TLC but nothing that detracted from our stay. I wish there were king beds throughout, but that's me. Great place if you want to enjoy the beach and pool. I would definitely consider this property again in the future."

"perfect for our needs
We relived earlier family vacations on HHI with our own grown kids, and this house met our needs perfectly. The three bedrooms spaced around the nice communal area worked well. Each room has its own access outdoors. We LOVED the screened porch off the master bedroom! The back bedroom could use a screen on the slider.
We needed a house that welcomed dogs, and this place was perfect. The yard is completely fenced with room to run for two Australian Shepherds. The pool with the wide shallow ledge was perfect for our boyz to enjoy the pool with us.
The kitchen and eating area were great for our group of six adults. The chairs and stools in the eating area, however, are too big and hard to move. We suggest changing those out, as we could not accommodate the stools at the counter and had to move them to the side. The kitchen was well appointed and worked well even with multiple users. The woodwork and such fixtures should have been dusted, but otherwise it was clean. It was great having a table and grill on the deck right outside the kitchen.
The beach access is great. We used to stay in houses right on the beach, but we hardly noticed the distance. Plus, we really liked the shady, private yard and deck back at the house. It was great having really nice beach chairs provided. The bikes were old, but useful.
The fourth bedroom would be great for when grandchildren join our family. The room really isn’t meant as a bedroom, but it could work with the bunkbeds provided. We suggest putting light-blocking shades in the large windows, because the room was too bright and not private if we had needed it for sleeping.
We highly recommend this house and hope to rent it again in the future!"

"Fall Break
All in all the property was very nice. The bedrooms were suitable for our needs. The kitchen was well equipped. The living area was comfortable. The fenced yard was great for our four legged kid. The pool area was very nice. The pool water temperature was ideal.
A few maintenance issues should be addressed. The deck is need of paint and minor repairs. The pool decking looks to be settling around the coping. The digital lock seemed to be a challenge at times as was the cable tv.
There is also some type of critter in the ceiling/walls. We noticed this through sounds and the fact that a loaf of bread purchased on site, was chewed into and destroyed one night.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. "

"Awesome family home just steps to the beach
We really enjoyed our stay at 4 Night Hawk. The home was even nicer than we anticipated and was perfect for our family and grandchildren. The outside shower and pool were a huge plus with the teen children and being so close to Caligny they were able to venture out on their own with no worries. Would definitely rent again!"

"Great location
We absolutely loved our stay here! Great location with only about a minute walk to the beach! The kids really enjoyed the pool and the backyard was great for our dog! We did have to call and get the pool heater turned on even though it should’ve been done already. It was promptly taken care of along with needing a new skimmer, the one there was broken. The house was great for our family of 4. The kitchen was well equipped and loved the gas stove! The house overall needs a good deep cleaning. Maybe replace the carpets in the bedroom. Master bedroom carpet has a hole in it maybe from another dog digging at it?! The towel bar was loose and came off the wall along with the toilet paper holder in half bath. Didn’t effect our stay at all otherwise we would’ve called Very well lived in house! The 4th bedroom could use some sort of blinds or curtains to cover the sliding glass door especially with the bunk beds being right up against it. The house came with bikes, pool toys (we brought our own) and 4 brand new chairs! Overall we enjoyed the house and will definitely be back for another visit!! "

"Wondeful Beach Week
This unit is a cute beach house - weathered but comfortable. Kitchen was great and very well stocked (even good, sharp knives). The pool area was a little grown up, and previous renters had left some trash in a couple of the perimeter areas. New furnace filter probably needed = Master bath had some dust on the walls that needed attention. Overall a good experience - we would rent this again."

4 Nighthawk is located north of Coligny Circle; in a very private neighborhood, and just a 3-5 min walk to the beach. The home is in decent shape, but is obviously rented often and used fairly hard. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, utensils etc., however there are no spices. The beds were all very comfortable, great living space, and the pool was clean. The only negatives... drains need to be cleaned, Master-bath wall is very dusty, and the electrical system is a little odd throughout the home. All else is fantastic and we look forward to returning. "

"Great location but could use lots of TLC
Great location to the beach and perfect size for family of 6. The kitchen was nicely updated. The use of bikes was a plus and fun to do. The pool was small but good for small family and some pool toys available was helpful. The house could use lots of TLC. Some suggestions include repainting the full bathrooms, mirrors were scratched and old and difficult to see reflection. Outdoor grill was well used and not cleaned in years. Had to call the owner to address some cobwebs and dirt on ceilings that were there from more than just a season. There is a critter in the wall that woke us up in the 2nd bedroom every morning at 6 am that was not addressed during our stay. No shades in the spare bedrooms, which made it hard to sleep for the kids. The half bath is very small had no shelf and cabinet to put soap or even a toothbrush. Overall, I was disappointed by the house appearance based on the pictures. This could be a great rental if all the issues are addressed."

WE FOUND THE HOUSE TO BE TRULY A WAS COZY AS WELL AS HAVING PLENTY OF ROOM. THE POOL WAS SO CONVENIENT FOR NIGHT OR DAY SWIMMING. WE ALL LOVED THE BEACH DECOR AND THE SHORT STROLL TO THE BEACH.OUR SHELTIES ENJOYED THE YARD AND ALL THE WONDERFUL SHADE. "Fantastic, highly recommend staying here!
We stayed in this house a couple of weeks ago (family of 5) and would highly recommend it. Could sleep two more people comfortably.
The house is perfect for a family vacation. There is lots of living space, the kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need for any meal. The washer, drier is perfect and the AC worked really well too. There were plenty of towels provided and we found the house very clean and tidy.
This house was a perfect location for the beach, beach chairs are provided and are easy to carry on the 5 minute walk to the beach. Bikes are provided too if you fancy an early morning or evening bike ride on the beach or you want to go visit the shops at Coligny Plaza.
The beach is just fabulous - soft sand leads to hard sand which is perfect for beach games and the water was amazing, no stones and very little current.
We loved nothing more than relaxing in the pool at the house in the early afternoon.
If you don’t fancy the beach everyday the sun loungers at the pool are perfect for sun bathing!
We grilled every night, the bbq is fantastic! A great choice of grocery stores, all in a 5 - 20 minute car ride… would recommend Kroger and Whole foods Market. Starbucks 10 minute car ride from the house.
There is ample room to eat out on the deck or dine inside.
We had no issues so did not need to call the agent.
We had a really fabulous time!"

"Great home for a family vacation.
Our stay at 4 Night Hawk was a perfect family vacation. The house was great and the location very convenient to the beach and Coligny Square. The kitchen was well stocked and the pool was an added bonus. We also enjoyed having bicycles available with the house rental. The only shortcoming was that the 3rd bathroom was only a 1/2 bath. 3 full baths would have been preferable."

"ready for an update
We have rented in Hilton Head for many years and have used Vrbo, Homeaway, etc. for these trips as well as most other travels outside Hilton Head. Needless to say, we have always had very positive experiences and rely heavily on reviews when selecting the home we rent. Therefore, I am writing this review so future travelers know that this house is in desperate need of updating.
The pictures and reviews do not match the current status of the house. It was extremely dirty, there were spiderwebs/insects all over the high living room ceilings that could not be reached or cleaned, the bathrooms smelled and were super dirty, the floor tile is peeling up in one bathroom, all curtains and carpets are terribly stained, the sheets and bedding did not look washed, etc. My parents and husband all agreed that we did not want to walk around without shoes on or let our kids sit and play on the carpets. The condition of the home was similar to the beach houses we rented as college students!
It's such a shame to have to write a review like this. If this house even looked remotely close to the pictures posted on the website, I would never write this of someone's home, but I feel future renters need to be aware before spending a week away from their owns homes here, especially if they come with small children. The house has such potential and is in such a great location it just needs some major TLC!! :("

"sunny and warm
we were very impressed with the area - very quiet and very close to the beach - we brought our dogs down and found everything very dog friendly - which my wife was thrilled about. One thing - speaking of dogs - my wife found and cleaned up a number of previous dog droppings in the back yard - might want to mention to your previous guests or cleaning co. to keep an eye on that. Other than that minor inconvenience - a great time!"
