"Lovely spot
Overall we were very pleased with our visit to Miss Ruby. This was our second time staying in Givernora Harbor on Banks Road. The house lived up to its billing, and was more than comfortable for our family of four plus my father who joined us last minute for a couple of nights. The pool is super convenient and fun for the children. The upstairs rooms with en suite baths are large and accommodating. The downstairs bedroom does not have the same privacy as the upstairs rooms and guest cottage but is comfortable enough.
Walk to the beach is quite easy, and the location is very private. The internet connection leaves something to be desired, but they were in the process of upgrading it while we were there."

"3 weeks stay
We choose this home due to its location and the size of our party which was 3 kids and 3 adults. Unfortunately the weather wasnt great and we spent evenings on top of eachother being there was only one tv in the living room and Wi-Fi didn’t work.. The pool was great for the kids being the weather wasn’t the greatest while we were there. We have been to the island 7 times so I have a few homes to compare it to for the value. We have 3 kids that had 10 days of school while we were on the island. The Wi-Fi didn’t not work at all so we had to go to the library in Governor’s Harbor for those ten days which wasn’t the end of the world but kind of a pain. We also run our own construction business in the states and access to internet is critical. We could only get service on our phones on banks road so my husband spent many hours out there working. When we checked in Misty did let us know that Wi-Fi was in and out. Had we known it wasn’t in working order we likely wouldn’t have rented as it was high on our needs list. A handful of days we were without power which made it hard for my husband and father to sleep being that they have sleep apnea machines. Again, not our property managers fault but we just had to roll with it. Other than that it was fine. I’d recommend this home to people who want to get away from their crowded city and be off the grid. The beach was great. Saw 4 sting rays hanging out. We did a lot of beach combing and looking at the homes on the beach. "

"Perfectly relaxing family vacation-beautiful beaches everywhere!
This house was perfect for our group. Everyone had their own bath, room on main floor for the grandma and the casita for the teenagers worked out great. Lovely pool. A short walk to the beach to the most beautiful stretch of beach that goes on forever, is perfect for swimming and has hardly anyone on it. Trees for shade. House had plenty of chairs to take down. The location is great for exploring the island. Went to Tilly’s (delicious and great setting), Buccaneer Club in town (so good) and La Bougainvillea (my favorite lunch spot for the view and food). Make dinner reservations. Misty was great and responsive. House was clean and really bright and pretty. Upstairs bedrooms have high ceilings and outside balcony access which is nice. House had everything we needed. "

"Great house for a group!
We are repeat visitors to the island and have stayed in several other rental houses all along Eleuthera. Miss Ruby has by far been the best overall. The location was so close to everything you need: groceries, beaches, restaurants, etc. The house itself was incredibly well stocked and clean. We are used to packing extra spices, some kitchen utensils, flashlights, bug spray, floats, etc. but Miss Ruby had everything you needed and more! Our only con to the house were the beds. All of the beds were just thin mattresses on top of wood slats in the bed frame that were incredibly loud any time someone moved. Luckily, we were too tired most nights for it to be a huge problem, but if you’re on vacation to rest up and catch some extra sleep, this may be a bigger problem.
Misty was so nice and accommodating without being ove bearing. She met us upon arrival and showed us around the house and then let us swiftly get into vacation mode. We will definitely consider this house again for future visits. "

"Our week at Miss Ruby
We absolutely loved Miss Ruby! The home is so charming and just what you'd expect from a Bahamian home with a coastal feel with some antique furnishings. The pool is lovely and pool house gave our party just enough space and privacy. The grounds are extremely private and short walk to the beach and private cove was magical! We will definitely return. "

"Miss Ruby Rewind...
Miss Ruby is a very comfortable and relaxing house. The design with two en suite bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs was great. The best was the detached Guest house. We had 3 teenagers staying out there and it was perfect! Kitchen is well stocked! Could use a few more mixing bowls! But otherwise we had it all. Misty the caretaker was there if we needed anything...which we did not! The beach is just down the private road, very easy. Great rental for families!!"

"Great Stay, Amazing Beach, Non-existent Wifi
Miss Ruby is a great place with a wonderful location. We traveled the island for a week searching out hidden beaches while staying at Miss Ruby. All were great but the family's favorite was right in our backyard. The tide pool and beachfront just 400 yards down the path makes your jaw drop each and every time you set eyes on it.
The only drawback was the lack of Internet. The description may say it has wireless but it is a pipe dream. We had maybe three minutes worth over 9 days. We got used to, and learned to appreciate, disconnecting but if you plan on doing work or Zooms while here I'd pass on this place. Halfway through the week I discovered a hidden hotel down the road where I could steal Internet from their parking lot. I made it work, but it was a pain. "

"Island Paradise.
My wife and I stayed @ Miss Ruby for a week with our two young boys Jett (5) and River (2). The home is tucked away privately in the middle of palm trees with an amazing wrap around porch and pool. A short walk or drive down the access road leads to a secluded beach that has an amazing beach, tide pools and unobstructed views for miles. You are minutes from La Bougainvilla, Tippys, and Bacchus. It takes about 10 minutes to get to Governors Harbour for food and drinks. Under 15 minutes from Ten Bay.
The home was prepped and ready to go...we honestly didnt have to call or contact Justin (manager) for a single thing. Although it was just my wife and two boys, there were enough bedrooms and beds for multiple families. We used to BBQ grill by the pool many times and the kids enjoyed cooling down after long days at the beach. I can't imagine someone having a sub par experience. Can't wait until the next time we visit Eleuthera."

We were 2 families of 9 total. All adults, youngest 18. 5th visit to the island. All of the rentals were great, but Miss Ruby was the best. Comfortable vibe, secluded but close enough to action. Roomy and comfortable, with a tremendous outside pool/deck/bbq area. The pool house bedroom (3 beds) ideal for the young adults. Pam at Eleuthera.Vac Rentals is a pro with excellent communication. Misty on site was also a pro and answered all of our questions swiftly. This house was a great find "

We really enjoyed our stay at Miss Ruby's. Everything was very clean and neat. Everything was in working order. Many extras to make our stay enjoyable. Misty, the house manager was very attentive and accommodating when we needed her help. The pool was very clean and refreshing on a hot summer day. The short walk to the beautiful beach was amazing.
The pergola was perfect to provide shade for the cars from the hot sun.
The water pressure was wonderful after a long day at the beach and site seeing. The Ac worked very well. "

Very cozy and clean. Nice small pool, with amazing day bed for lounging in the shade! Second pool house provides more space and privacy if multiple couples. Management was very responsive. Good location on Banks Rd convenient to restaurants and some stores. Beach is about a 5 minute walk from the house. This is one of the best beaches on Eleuthera (very private). "

"Great Relaxing trip
We finally were able to make the trip to Miss Ruby's after all the covid issues and it was just what we needed. We had 6 adults and it was perfect for our group. The only thing lacking was some kitchen items, I tried to make brownies one day and ended up making them on a sheet pan (using two boxes of mix) but it was all good! We cooked at the house about half the time and went out about half the time. We had a bird visit us at the pool every day and enjoyed watching him with our morning coffee. The beach was beautiful and we only ever saw maybe 4 other people on the beach at one time, so it was great to have it to ourselves. The only thing to add would be different internet, if you intend to work while here, it is a wifi hotspot, so it may be a little difficult to connect to a VPN or do video calls. But I was on vacation and didn't intend to do ANY work and it was perfect for checking email periodically, posting a few pictures, and periodically we were able to use it for facetime to check on the kids at home. "

"The Most Perfect Week!!
Everything was perfect. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Misty from the concierge service. She showed us around and gave us some great restaurant reviews etc. We stayed in Eleuthra 6 years prior and knew we would love being on Banks Rd, near town and some great restaurants and the Island Farm. What we didn't realize was just how magical Miss Ruby's and the beach down the private path would be. We will be back! Everything exceeded expectations "

"Miss Ruby Thanksgiving 2019
Miss Ruby was a great house for our trip. Because of the late notice due to Hurricane Dorian we had to relocate houses and would have loved an extra bedroom but we made due. The kitchen and guest house were well appointed for all our needs.
Our only real issue was with the beds. All our adult guests felt they were rock hard and a couple of us even slept on couches to avoid using them."

"Great Place for a Family Stay
Nine people. 77yo Uncle, 60s couple, two 30s couples, one 20s male, one 2yo.
Ms Ruby is set up perfectly for our family. Our son and his wife with our grandson were in the pool house, so we could put the 2yo to bed and still party at the big house. The house was comfortable and more than adequate for our needs. The pool was a great place to play with the grandson after being at the beach. The grounds are lovely. There is a latticed car port to park three cars and shade them somewhat.
The beach is almost private and it is beautiful. Soft pink sand with the southern end protected by Culmers Rock (limestone outcroppings that extend to the reef that protects the bay). The water is gorgeous and there's a ton of fish to be seen snorkeling along the rocks.
The house has beach chairs, an umbrella and several beach towels you can take to the beach, along with a small cooler.
The beds are hard, but you get used to them...and I rarely find a bed that I like anyway.
It was a wonderful week. Misty, the property manager, was great."

"Beautiful home and beach.
We stayed in Miss Ruby as a group of 12. We had a great stay. Misty, the house manager was super helpful in showing us around town and helping us with any questions we had. The beach is not quite as close as it seems in the picture, it is a 5 to 7 minute walk to the beach. Once at the beach is one of the most beautiful beaches we’ve ever seen! All the beds in the property could use a soft mattress topper, they were all hard. Tippy‘s restaurant is a fun environment and good food, it’s about a 25 to 30 minute walk on the beach, or a quick five minute drive. Buccaneers in town was great. Definitely do the fish fry on Friday night, was the highlight of our week! "

While we would love to keep Miss Ruby our family secret, the fact that our two week stay was so superb, we owe it to the owners, Misty, and the managing company to share our experience. For the family or group that enjoys relaxing by the pool or beach and willing to accept the "off the beaten path" traits that come with it, Miss Ruby is an excellent selection for a holiday.
The beach was the best on the island in our opinion, and we spent 40% of our waking hours there relaxing, reading, playing with our children, and floating in incredibly clear waters. The house was very comfortable, and while there could have been better utensils and pans (we love to cook!), we were able to make due for every meal. The pool and tiki hut grill were also very well maintained and became part of our daily routine. The property overall was well kept and other than a few ants that seemed to have olympic sprinting pedigrees, Miss Ruby was very easy to get accustomed to which allowed us to have a great family vacation.
For those that are looking for a location within walking distance of the essentials, let's be clear now, you NEED a vehicle. The property manager Misty was essential in helping us navigate this selection well. There is one restaurant (Tippy's) within walking distance, and maybe two if you are willing to get wet and sandy on a 2-3 mile walk to the south along the beach.
The only other advice I'd give someone staying in Eleuthera and planning to cook, make the trip down to Rock Sound to the Marketplace for groceries. It is the closest grocer to what we have in the states, and it is about a 35min drive. Other than that, don't be afraid to explore as the people are amongst the most friendly we have experienced in the Caribbean and Miss Ruby is a great "base camp" for your adventures."

"Beautiful home!
This property was so beautiful and clean-exactly as pictured. The beach is perfectly located and was calm most of the week...the sand color was so pink that it is hard to describe. The only negatives were that the beach had a lot of trash that had washed up on shore that really spoiled the natural beauty at times and we felt the property owners along this stretch of beach should consider banding together to keep it cleaned up. Also, food is an issue, as grocery stores are not available like back in the States. I would highly recommend heading straight to Rock Sound for groceries at the beginning of the trip. We did not do this and really wished we had because there were literally no good options other than Rock Sound. Lastly, my other best advice is bring bug spray and don't venture out anywhere without it. I have been to many islands but this one tops all the rest for bugs- however, we do believe some of this may have been due to the time of year that we visited. The people were the nicest people we have ever encountered-- everyone is happy and wants to help with whatever you need. We just can't say enough about the Eleutheran people. Definitely visit the Sapphire Hole on the North end of the island- super fun! Matthew and Misty were very helpful- wouldn't hesitate to work with them again!"

"Fantastic house to explore Eleuthera
Stayed for 7 nights in June. My family of 5 with three kids stayed in the Main House and two adult guests stayed in the guest cottage for 5 nights. The house was terrific. Plenty of space, common areas were great with plenty of seating and the kitchen was plenty adequate for our needs. The cottage was a nice simple extra space for our guests. The pool was amazing and clean. The grounds were tastefully manicured and the property was large and private. We had a short walk to the beach. Pink sand, blue water beautiful just like all the other beaches we visited. Twin Cove & French Leave beaches are less than ten minutes drive and are amongst the best in the world. We ate at Tippys and 1648 while we were there and they were both great. Town of Governors Harbor is charming and we had a blast at the Friday Night street party. Took a fishing charter out of Spanish Wells (1 hour north) and visited Lighthouse Beach (2 hours South). Lighthouse Beach is easily one of the most beautiful places on Earth, I'd put it up against anywhere in the world, it's that special.
Caretaker for our house was terrific and was easily reachable by phone for any concerns. House showed the wear and tear you would expect for a beach rental in a tropical climate but everything was in satisfactory condition and they even replaced an AC unit that was a little less than 100% even though we wouldn't have even complained about it. We bumped into many locals around our house and the people here are probably more friendly than anywhere else in the Caribbean I've been, though they are certainly still on Island Time so relax and don't be in a hurry.
Can't recommend this house enough to explore the beautiful island of Eleuthera."

The property was more than expected for a family of 5. Great location just off the beach. A quick walk to the perfect spot. Clean and easy to manage. Had all the stuff you need or want except maybe kayaks. The issue with the screen door was addressed right away and very professional.
When we go back to Eleuthera we will definitely use this rental company again. Our trip had a highly unusual event from a storm surge taking out a section of the Queens Highway. This stopped us from traveling to the North Eleuthera airport. Pam at Eleuthera vacation rentals kept us aware of the event, gave us recommendations on how to proceed and arranged for us to stay longer if we could not get to our flights.

We had a great time in Eleuthera. Staying at Miss Ruby was all we hoped for. The home and amenities were on point. Misty met us in town upon our arrival and was available all week to answer questions and point us in the right direction when we were looking for things to do. The homes location, just outside of Governors Harbour Town is perfect. Short walk to the pink sand beach and then back for a dip in the pool. "
