"Enjoyable time!
We enjoy the location. We have stayed there in 2019, before Covid. It is within walking distance of The Conch Cafe. It is also close to The Gulf Stream Cafe.
The unit was clean. The kitchen was clean and the utensils were more than adequate. The laundry service was excellent.
The water pressure in the showers was very high. We had to wait between showers for the water to warm up. There was a musty smell near the commode in the master bath. "

"Relaxing Get Away
Overall our experience was nice. The master bed matress and pillows could definitely use an upgrade and the only other complaint I have are the little things that arent included. ie. One would think that they would not make out of town guests have to purchase garbage bags, dish soap, paper towl, toilet paper. I know this may sound petty but I'm sure we aren't the only guests purchasing these items and leaving them behind for the next guest. I called for an additoinal garbage bag (I only needed 1) and was told I needed to purchase them. So i'm there a week and need to purchase a box of garbage bags?? I guarantee everything I purchased and left behind were not there for the next guest(s).

"Hot water issue needs to be resolved
The place is beautiful and the location is perfect. However, the water heater is only 38 gallons and the water pressure in both showers was very powerful. This runs the hot water out very quickly. It was difficult to get everyone showered and ready for the evening. I ended up heating water up to give my kids a bath. My husband went home to take a shower as we happen to live nearby. Maintenance is aware of the problem but offered no resolution. We were only 3 adults and 2 children. I’d find it near impossible for 8 people, which is the max capacity for the unit to stay for a week based on the hot water problem. We have stayed at surfmaster several times and have never had this problem before. "

We loved our stay in Surfmaster304. We would return for another visit! The condo is lovely and well taken care of, and there was really not anything that we needed that wasn't there. Beds were comfortable and the patio furniture was the best of any unit where we've stayed. There are some floors that could use a good scrubbing, but overall it was an excellent visit! We tried to book the same for Spring Break, but it was already taken, Darn! "

We had a wonderful time. Beautiful sunrises and sweeping ocean views. Had a little trouble getting into condo, as it was not unlocked as we were told it would be. Also, drain in master tub would not open all the way and water accumulated. We used other shower. Faucet in master bath was VERY loose. Otherwise, property was well maintained. King size bed was very comfortable. Loved the big pillows."

"Perfect
We are returning Surfmaster guests but this was our first stay in Unit 304. Every time you open the front door and step inside, you are greeted with the most beautiful ocean views. The property is exactly as described and we found past reviews helpful. The third floor location of this condo made access easy from the stairs or elevator. Garden City is the perfect location. You can travel north into the heart of Myrtle Beach or travel south and be in Murrells Inlet in 5 minutes. We will return and we look forward to more relaxing days spent just steps from the beach. "

"A wonderful place to stay
Our unit was beautiful. It was clean and uncluttered. Loved the beach decor and pictures on the walls. The furniture was comfortable. My son and his cousins enjoyed playing the games that were there. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. There were plenty of bath towels. The pool area was well maintained. Management was friendly and helpful. The only complaint that I would have is that the carpet in the bedrooms was stained. Otherwise a wonderful place to stay. If I come back to Surfmaster again I would rent this unit again. "

Arrived on 9/8/18 but only stayed for 2 days before being evacuated. Unit location was ideal but furniture is in very poor condition. Sofa, love seat, chair, dining room set stained and worn. All should be replaced. Because of these conditions we would not recommend this unit. "

The carpet had spills everywhere. There was sticky liquid on the legs of the coffee table. The sofa smelled horrid. We had to cover it with bed sheets in order to be able to stand to sit on it. The master bath smelled like urine. So much that I took down the shower curtains and washed them in the washing machine. This did help a little. You can look at the bed in the master bedroom and see it sunk to the middle. We have been staying at Surfmaster for 25+ years and this is the first bad
experience. "

The location is ideal, the view unbeatable! Really nice that sheets and towels are included in the rental. Overall, the condo was clean, but the carpets could use a steam cleaning. I understand improvements have been made in the last year. I hope future improvements include a new couch, and new master bed. Overall, I would stay here again! Love Garden City, so relaxing. The lady in the rental office was a joy to work with! Email responses were fast, and all questions answered."

"Comfortable Seaside condo
This 3rd floor unit is spacious, with a great view. Funishings getting older but good. Plenty of dishes and cookware. This unit has a view over the north Tower Jacuzzi. Huge Balcony. Very private and comfortable. All rooms have updated TV's and cable. The property management company is non intrusive and helpful. Had a great stay from Dec 21,2017 to January 29th 2018.
ISSUES: Recommend new mattresses in both bedrooms."

We enjoy renting from Garden City Realty and have no problem with them. The staff at the Surf Master is also helpful. The maintenance supervisor is superior in my opinion. The unit we stayed in had carpet that is filthy and needs to be replaced. The smell coming from the garbage disposal was nauseating, such you could hardly even stand to be in the kitchen. That did get taken care of. The kitchen is not very well stocked. I think the unit in general just needs to be upgraded. I would not want to stay in 304 again, but would stay in another unit on the property."

"Vacation at beach
I loved the room an the deck also kitchen was well stocked. The mgr was very helpful because the week we were down there un known to manger there was construction starting same time which involved a very loud jack hammer right outside our door they were fixing railings omg soo loud it went on off an on for two days on our side the mgr was kind an refunded one day stay I appreciate that felt like should have been two from the noise that was coming thru wall but he was very empathic.. I loved room only suggestion I have is please get rid of those plastic blinds there were many missing an some were barely attached maintenance said it's a ongoing issue if they would switch to reg sliding curtains it would be so much nicer an keep more light out in morning when trying to sleep an easier to get on an off deck an open an close. Other than those two things I would stay again very nice room an view!!!! Thank you. "

This is about the 4th or 5th time that we have stayed at the Surfmaster..But this time because I booked so late..well the inventory was limited and I chose... unit 304....usually stay on 1st floor ..sink in the bathrooms was broken when we arrived ..also blinds were missing in living and bedroom(found them in the master closet...carpet was filthy..I reported but maintenece never came..Ramona at the front desk was very nice and she said the maintence person never responded ..I know she tried...weather was gr8..Garden City realty was gr8..I wont book this particular unit again but i will be using Garden cITY realty agin"

"Mostly a Good Experience
Overall, this is a good condo. The location cannot be beat, the view is fabulous, and the Management and Maintenance employees were fantastic! There were several maintenance and housekeeping issues that I noticed when we first arrived with this condo: the front door looked a little weathered and the lock was very stiff and difficult to unlock, the sliding glass door handle was broken, the towel bar in the master bathroom was coming out of the wall on one side, some floor tiles are cracked in the master bathroom, the vents were extremely dirty, there were lots of flies in the kitchen ceiling light fixture, the outdoor furniture was filthy, the light carpet was very spotty, especially in the main walkways, and could stand a cleaning and the place needed to be dusted, the entire interior of the condo needs to be painted and the glass coffee table collapsed on one side when we tried moving it to pull out the bed in the couch. Maintenance promptly took care of the cleaning and maintenance problems that we reported (bugs in ceiling light cover, collapsed coffee table and the sliding glass door handle). Overall, this was a good condo and the furniture was comfortable. "

Was very shocked about the cleanliness of the condo. Carpet was not clean.(I have never understood why people choose to carpet beach rentals).The vertical blinds kept falling. Each night we had to be very careful to make sure bedroom blinds were shut. Each time we opened the Bedroom blinds a slat would fall. The screen door to bedroom balcony was not working. Appeard to be off track and very worn out. A lot of updates need to be done. Will not stay there again and do not advise anyone to stay there. The deadbolt key was broke off in lock (on site staff seamed not to care.)"

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PARTICULAR CONDO. IT WAS OUTDATED, CURTAINS WERE HARD TO OPEN & CLOSE & A/C NEVER SEEMED TO GET COOL ENOUGH.

"Take a Fan
Condo needed updating. Carpet was old and stained. AC could not keep the den area cool (85 degrees). Rest of condo was fine. Complained and AC person was sent out and basically said there was nothing he could do. I bought a fan and listened to it run all week and it did help. Also had to leave blinds closed half the day to keep heat out so the beautiful view was a waste. Complained and manager was to call me back but never did. Positives were great view and balcony area, parking was good, beach was nice, elevators were good. Overall location was great and people who worked there were nice but their only recourse was to call repair person. I loved the property but would probably never stay there again because of the AC design problem. If you don't mind listening to a fan run day and night or if you stay in cooler weather i am sure it would be ok. I expected more for the money. I have used Garden City Reality many times through the years but was not happy this time."

This is a nice 2 bedroom unit with a beautiful ocean view; we did enjoy our stay. However the unit needs maintenance such as blinds repaired, MBR toilet repaired, wallpaper loose,, dirty carpet cleaned, kitchen floor discolored, light bulbs replaced, bathroom grout discolored, bar mirror damaged, kitchen cupboard interiors could be improved. The unit furniture was comfortable and in good condition but overall the unit needs to be updated.

Upon arrival we noted the window blinds in disarray. Several slats laying on the floor. The bedspreads on twin beds were threadbare. Rental agency had blinds repaired,and new bedspreads provided, along with more towels. The stairwells in the building were dirty & in need of paint- being done at end of our second month. It would be helpful to have a folder of info. - how to used DVD, kitchen items, etc. On a positive note - the ocean view was OUTSTANDING. Cookware, balcony furniture- very good."

"It truly was a "view with a room"
While there were things with the condo that needed some TLC (no screen from living room to patio, carpet needing cleaning or replacing and broken lock on master bedroom sliding door--which was fixed upon a call to management), the condo was well stocked and clean and roomy with some care and thought to the decor. The couches were fairly new and comfortable. Having tvs and dvd players in each room was very convenient. Wireless worked great. Appliances were clean and almost new. The linen package was nice and appeared to include a roll of toilet paper and a bar of soap for each bath, which was nice when you first arrive and haven't gone to the grocery yet. The view was magnificent--not too high up but high enough to get a beautiful view, especially sunrises each morning, and far enough away from the noisy, massive air conditioners that are bothersome if you are in other rooms closer to them as we were on a previous trip. The king-sized bed was very comfortable. The swivel chair in the living room should never be replaced but needs reupholstering--it is a great chair. Parking was very convenient, and I noticed that the common property had been generally landscaped beautifully and painted since our last visit 4 years ago. The location is great, walking distance to restaurants on the beach and a 5-minute drive from a Krogers/package store/fresh veg and seafood stands. "

"Bring your own knives
Not a great kitchen if you plan to do a lot of cooking. All appliances are old, including washer and dryer. Cooking utensils need to be replaced. $20 at the dollar store would really help this situation. i.e. Bought a can opener since the one in the unit failed us.
TVs in all rooms are great, decorated nicely, furniture is very comfortable and new. Loved the recliner and the view from it!!"

"September 2011 - Noisy
Our 2nd yr at Surfmaster. This yr our friends, who we stayed with last yr also, arrived before us. They had a little problem checking in - last yr we recv'd a form requesting all guests names. This yr we didn't?? Noise was a problem several nights. People were in the pool/hot tub areas very late. One night 2:00 am. The night before we left we asked them to please quiet down so we could sleep (around 11:30pm). Only lasted for a few minutes. We didn't know who to contact at that hr. I wanted to call the police but others in our group nixed that idea. Also, it was quite noisy in the rear bedroom from the walkway late at night and several early mornings - workers in the building in the a.m.?? There needs to be a manager on site or else a way to lock the pool area. We didn't have this problem last yr but we were in another unit. It would be nice to have some room darkening drapes on the rear bedroom. The light from the hallway outside made it really light in the room with only plantation blinds up and hard to get to sleep. The condo itself was decorated very nice and the living room furniture the most comfortable we've ever had in a beach rental. I would recommend the property if the noise problems were addressed. We had rain several days and there was a drainage problem with standing water in the parking garage."

I am sorry to say that I could not recommend this property. A few good things I can say is that the unit was a good size for our family (#304). The location was OK. We did not feel that we had to worry about our kids going to the beach/pool/room by themselves. So we did feel safe. That is about where the good ends. When we checked at the office (#104)the first thing I smelled was urine. It was cramped and just felt dirty and made a horrible first impression. The woman that checked us in was nice. When we got to the unit and opened the door, you guessed it, urine smell AGAIN!!! The unit was gross. The carpets were badly stained and worn. The bathrooms had not been cleaned well and the kitchen was in the same shape. I went out immediately and bought cleaning supplies and febreeze. Just what you want to do on vacation first thing, right?? The unit's appliances were old and did not work well. We had to report the air conditioner was not working properly and the maintenance guy came while we were gone and used the bathroom. We know b/c he forgot to FLUSH!! The decor looked to be either thrift store purchases or well used hand-me-downs. For example, the recliner fabric was threadbare and the bedspreads were sent to the floors because of their condition. We normally stay in NMB area and evidently have been spoiled by the property we stay. We were very disappointed in the condo, especially when we pay the same amount in NMB and stay in a MUCH nicer property."

"A View with a Condo
The condo was wonderful-spacious, clean, nice kitchen,(however needs to be "stocked" a little better), hot water was good, mattresses better than most rentals where we have stayed before, and the best balcony ever. Balcony in itself like any other, but the view was fabulous. It was definitely "a view with a condo.
Sunsets and sunrises were awesome. Got some great photos. Besides the
firecrackers every single night, it was basically pretty peaceful. Hopefully that
would not happen all year round, and we realize "tis the season,", and we were
visiting a state that legalizes fireworks-that's probably the biggest reason for all
the firecrackers.
Anyway, we appreciate having a place to have a memorable 4th of July holiday. Thanks to the owners, and Garden City reality.

"Surfmaster By The Sea
We have stayed at Surfmaster by the Sea for many years, my general complaint would be the cleanliness of the units, I think the cleaning staff is not taking enough time to thoroughly clean each unit. This year there was sand on the floor near the master bathtub and the shower wall didn't look freshly cleaned. Also the carpet was dirty in the high traffic area,the front entry way. The landscaping of the property has been updated with beautiful plants and flowers and also the elevator area has been remodeled very nice improvement too. "

"Couldn't Ask For More, Except the Deed
This place was fabulous. We had an awesome time. We love the Garden City area, and this couldn't be located in a better spot. This trip in particular made this place perfect. I was having ankle surgery as soon as I got back home, but with the handicapped
accessible pool, I could pull right up with my scooter, take my boot off, and slide in the pool, to enjoy it with my son. Will definitely return for years to come."

Everything was great except for a loud group that would utilize the hot tub around 2 to 3 am daily. Our master bedroom slider would not shut lock was broken and we were woken up by their loud conversations."

The most relaxing vacation ever! Realty office on location made checking in a breeze, very efficient and convenient. Our room was great, awesome view, very clean, furnishings were very nice, all the kitchen supplies you need. Extremely quiet, no noise from other units. We are very pleased with our stay at Surfmaster and we are already planning another vacation for May 2012."

Everything about the condo was great until time for checkout. Our daughter had become very, very sick during the early morning hours on the day we were to check out. We had asked management if we could have a little later check out because of her being so sick. We were doing the best we could to get out on time - but with a sick child we could only move so fast. The management and staff were not cooperative at all!! They even sent the cleaning lady in while we were still there. We had explained to them what happened - but they were only concerned about getting us out. Because of management's actions and lack of courtesy to someone who was sick - I would not recommend this place to anyone. Also someone had pulled the fire alarm while we stayed there - evacuating the entire building late in the evening on one of the days while we were there. Management had not given the fire dept the correct keys to shut the alarm off which had us and the entire building outside (at night) longer than necessary."

This condo was very comfortable and convenient. Sitting in front of the floor to ceiling window in the living room felt like sitting on the beach. The only negative is the kitchen needs updated but it was adequate.
