The unit is the largest floor plan in Pelican Isle in Ft Walton Beach on Okaloosa Island and is an END UNIT with lots of light and a view from each room. Being at the EAST end of the 5th floor, this unit is not over the pool so you do not have to worry about any noisy games or activities at the pool area interrupting your quiet times on your private Gulf front balcony. Rest assured when you rent PI 501 your morning coffee and afternoon beverages will be enjoyed in total calmness and you won't experience this tranquility from just anywhere on the Gulf!! Panoramic views of the white-sand beach and emerald green waters encompass you throughout this unit from the numerous windows and balcony accesses. The living room has two sliding glass doors that open to a wraparound deck. Master bedroom has king-size bed with a balcony with a Gulf view and private bathroom.

From booking to checking everything was easy. We have stayed in this complex before and know area well. First time in this unit. My wife loved the decoration of the unit. "Best view ever!
You can’t beat waking up and having coffee on your deck overlooking the Gulf of America! What a gorgeous view every day! We watched dolphins, devil rays, ospreys, and more. There was plenty of room in this condo for our family of 8. Being an end unit, there’s a little more room than the other condos at Pelican Isle. The balcony wraps around so there’s extra space there too. There was an initial odor that we had to contact the rental agency about and they dropped off air fresheners for us. Another frying pan in the kitchen and a 4 qt pot would be helpful, but we made it work."

Nice Condo. Have stayed at Pelican Isle several times and have always enjoyed it. Loved the corner condo. We had several different views of the ocean! The only issue we had was the people that were staying above us smoked on their balcony even tho Pelican Isle is a smoke- free building. They have designated areas outside that they could smoke. There were times we couldn’t enjoy seating on our balcony because of the smoke smell."

was great to work with! I recieved several texts and emails keeping me informed of everything. Rental was ready early. Condo was as pictured. The only con I had was the bedrooms need dark shades and a shade over the round sky light for sure. Also fluffier pillows. The beds were firm, for those of you who like a softer bed. Other than that, it was a great rental! We will definitely rent from Brooks and Shorey again! and would stay at Pelican Isle again!"

"Pelican Isle 501
Nice corner unit. You could tell owners are trying to get things updated but the things that weren’t were really bad. The couch was so dirty that we had to cover it with a sheet just to sit on it. The shower in one of the bathrooms was held together with zip ties. That same bath would not drain causing backup. The room needs a good deep cleaning. Also there was no broom so we had to improvise to get sand off of floor. The burners on the stove would just stop working while cooking and we had to switch burners to finish cooking. Then it would come back on. "

"Pelican Isle 501
The condo was perfect for our family in some ways. The balcony was huge with a great view of the gulf and it had nice tall chairs. All rooms were plenty big. The condo does need some updating, the living room furniture is rather worn. The bathrooms could use some hand soap, along with dish soap and hand soap in the kitchen. The master really needs help. The bed was rather hard, and the light that comes in at night was significant. The round window is lightly frosted but does not keep out much light. the other two windows have white blinds which let a lot of light in. All three windows would benefit greatly from curtains since the bedroom faces the parking lot and street. My husband had to cover his head to get to sleep. The tub in the master is rather tall, we bought a grab bar at Wal Mart. Unfortunately, we will not stay in this condo again. We have rented from Brooks and Shorey in the past and will do so again. They're very easy to work with and each time our condo has been ready a few hours early. Love B&S, just not the condo."

"Not a fan!
Myself and 4 teenagers arrived after a 12 hour drive to the property. The air conditioner was on 75 degrees when we arrived, which I thought was strange seeing that it was just cleaned that day and they knew we were coming. We turned the air down and went to bed. We all woke up in the middle of the night burning up. The air was still on 75. I called first thing in the morning, the girl who answered the phone said they had been having trouble with that unit. Oh really?!?! So you knew it was broken?? They sent someone out who said it was broken and would need a part that wouldn’t be in for another 4 days. So we had to move. We had to pack up all of our luggage and a weeks worth of groceries and move locations. Like we had to change properties. They gave us 3 to chose from. We took the biggest, but unfortunately the master bedroom was at the back of the condo, so all that money I paid to wake up and see the ocean was back at the condo with no air. Needless to say, I lost an entire day at the beach to deal with no air and having to move. I would never stay with this company again. I felt like from the beginning we were set up to fail. I was never offered any compensation or discount on a future stay. "

Beds were not comfortable, and grandson complained about top hall bunk not comfortable. Had a major issue with ice maker all week. Dripped water and froze over onto floor. Had to have water cut off to maker. Having to purchase 1-2 bags of ice everyday was a bummer. Sofa worn. Loved the corner unit. Location was great as it was our 1st time on Okaloosa as we usually stay in Destin. Good restaurants nearby and having Publix nearby was nice. Brooks and Shorey office were great to deal with. Would book with Brooks & Shorey again maybe just not this condo."

"Lovely Condo in a Great Location
We recently enjoyed a 6 day stay in this condo. The condo was extremely clean and well-furnished. The beachy decor was nice and very comfortable. The property was in good repair although the hot tub was out of order for the duration of our stay. We particularly liked the inclusion of 2 beach chairs and an umbrella since those amenities were not included in stays elsewhere.

The kitchen was easy to cook in and had most of the items we needed. However, the lack of a cookie sheet was an inconvenience since we had planned a meal that required one and also made it hard to cook biscuits in the morning. We improvised, but would recommend that the owner of the unit add one. A pizza pan would also be a nice addition.

One maintenance issue we noted was that the doors that opened to a balcony between the 2 bedrooms had locks that didn’t seem to work. The deadbolt on the master bedroom door didn’t work at all, and we were unable to unlock the door from the other bedroom.

My only other complaint is, admittedly, a minor one, and specific to my personal preference. The master bedroom remains very bright at night as the blinds do not block much light, and the round window is completely uncovered. A sleep mask made it possible for me to sleep, but if you are like me and need a dark room to sleep, better remember to pack one!"

"Best condo ever!
I've been coming to Destin/ Ft Walton every year for 30 years and have stayed in several condo complexes. Pelican Isle became my favorite 3 years ago and 501 is definitely my favorite unit as of last week. It is a bright tastefully decorated unit that oozes relaxation and although the weather didn't quite cooperate we didn't mind staying in so much.
Beds and living room furniture are comfortable, wrap around balcony insures you can still sit outside if it rains
The staff is pleasant and Connor with the beach service was very polite and helpful especially as we were wanting to socially distance from the others.
I look forward to booking this unit again next year using Brooks and Shorey again as the agents are extremely pleasant and helpful as well."

Amazing Condo, right on the beach. Had everything my family and I needed. More than enough space for 4 people. The views are absolutely beautiful. The only complaint I have, in the master bedroom, we could only plug in one of our phones to charge at a time. The bed blocked the wall plug on one side. They had put in a USB port port for you to plug into, but having a newer phone, we needed a C charger port. Not a huge deal at all, we just charged it in a different room. Overall, we loved the room and will definitely try and stay in this condo in the future. "

The reservation process was quick and easy! Brooks and Shorey were very responsive to my emails and calls. It was nice to be able to go directly to the condo without needing to wait in line at a rental rental office. The condo was clean and comfortable. "Beautiful View
The location of the condo could not have been any better and the view was amazing and unobstructed!! The furniture was clean and comfy and the condo had all that was required to cook full meal. The layout of condo was super nice, including the master being at the opposite end from the main living area. Location was awesome! Condo had plenty of room for all of us. 4 adults 2 teenagers and a 2yr old. Views from the balconies were great! We watched the fireworks on the pier from our side balcony. The only downside was the master bedroom didn't stay as cool as the rest of the condo. Overall great time great location made up for it!"

"Great location.
Wrap around balcony was enjoyed and we liked the location. We did not like the smell that welcomed us when we walked in the door. The beds were not comfortable. The condo was not clean. Dirty dishes, baseboards, floors, my husband cut his foot on broken glass. The fridge made a high pitched noise. They did have plenty if towels and sheets for the sofa bed which we ysed to cover the white stained couch.

"Great location and view!
Pelican Isle 501 was very nice. The condo was clean and beds were comfortable. Being the corner unit, the balcony offered a great view in either direction. Loved being so close to the beach. Would definitely stay here again. Only problem was seaweed in the water. Had to go to Henderson State Park for clear water."

"2018 Neville vacation
The condo could really use an update with the furniture, decorations, etc. It is very outdated compared to the many other condos we have rented through Brooks and Shorey. The master bed is extremely uncomfortable, so we purchased a mattress pad to add some comfort while sleeping. Overall, our vacation was very nice and we will continue to use Brooks and Shorey in the future."
