We’ve stayed here two years now and we really enjoy it. There’s condo is a good size and is decorated nicely. We also enjoyed the pool and hot tub and that’s the beach is just a short walk. There were a few things that could have improved, but overall this property is awesome! Thank you"

"Week at beach for fall break
Unit was ready on time and with a good first impression. My wife likes the walk in shower. Having separate bathroom for kids is a plus. Beach service young man was excellent. Like a cruise ship people take towels down to reserve chairs they don’t sit in for several hours if at all. That’s just people being themselves. Young man sets up as fast as he can and lots of folks want the front row. Amenities were nice ice maker was a plus. "

"Vacation Experience
The unit was clean and we very enjoyed our stay very much. The unit was quiet and peaceful which is exactly what we were needing. The beach and water was beautiful but there was one group that had no respect for anyone else on the beach and stayed drunk and loud every day. We were under the impression that no glass bottles were allowed but that wasn’t the case. It’s a shame that a group like this can ruin a beautiful experience for other beach goers. "

"3rd stay
My 3rd time staying at pelican isle, first time in unit 508 and it was a little disappointing. The sheets in the master were rough feeling the first night, like they already had sand in them. There is dust an inch thick in several places in the unit, which i wouldnt even mention if i wasnt charged a cleaning fee. The door frame was busted making it hard to open and close the door. As always though the staff was pleasant and friendly and views cant be beat"

"Great view nice unit
We’ve rented this unit a few times now. This last experience was good. The place was clean upon arrival. The negatives- somehow the tv cables were all flip flopped making it very difficult to watch tv. I called Brooks and Shorey and they sent someone over immediately even though it was the end of the day. The master bedroom mattress is pretty uncomfortable along with the couch. "

"Beauty and The Beach
My family and I had a wonderful stay at Pelican Isle unit 508, everything we needed for a comfortable vacation was in the condo. The beaches are probably the most beautiful beaches we stay on and we have been to our share of beach vacations. There are multiple restaurants and or bars the serve up anything you could possibly be hungry for. Traffic in Ft. Walton is extremely congested and kind of bottle necks up in certain areas so it was a little difficult getting around when going out. We would highly recommend booking a trip to paradise."

"Honeymoon ‘24
Our stay was great with the exception of the bed. The bed had us in so much pain each morning because it was way too hard. However, it gave us an excuse to get massages a couple of different days. The condo is in the perfect location. The view from our balcony was breathtaking. It was clean. It was close to everything. We had a wonderful honeymoon. Oh, and the bathroom is amazing! So much space!"

It was a wonderful stay and we would recommend this condo. It has an amazing view! Overall the room was clean but did have some sand on the floor upon arrival. The complimentary umbrella and chairs are slightly misleading since the beach worker says they are first come first serve and our name was not reserved like many others were. Overall I give 4 out of 5 stars."

"Pelican Isle unit 508
Overall we had a great vacation. We loved the location and view of the room. We did not have any major issues with this condo but as some had mentioned previously it is in need of some minor repairs and updates and it has very basic amenities. There needs to be some area rugs inside the doors that help catch the leftover sand when you come in the unit. There are no rugs or decorations which made the unit echo and seem very sterile. Someone in our group rented a different unit in the complex and it had a much more "homey" feel to it. There was no dishtowel, dishcloth, or small bottle of hand dishwashing liquid. When we arrived, the coffee pot was not completely clean and I had forgotten a bottle of dishwashing liquid. There was automatic dishwashing liquid but it would have been nice to have had some hand dishwashing liquid provided, especially when the dishes need to be cleaned immediately. The unit needs new caulking especially in the master bathroom. The master bath sink faucet was loose and the bathtub faucet leaked out onto the floor. The bathtub was either not cleaned well or it needs to be replaced. Just minor repairs and a fresh coat of paint would help update this unit. Overall we would probably rent this unit again; however, if other units are available in this complex then this unit would not be our first choice."

"Room was great, amenities lacking
The room itself was great. Clean, fully stocked kitchen, comfortable bed and furniture. Pool and hot tub clean. The worst part was the beach service. We called to complain but of course the buck was just passed to the vendor. Like brooks and Shirley doesn’t contract/pay them. Take ownership and do better. Your vendors are a direct reflection of you.
Also slightly disappointed that the room rental doesn’t come with free movies from the kiosk downstairs."

Overall a very nice condo. It would be nice if hairdryers were provided in the bathrooms, that was something that was discovered last minute that needed to be packed. Kitchen could use some bigger coffee mugs and a larger cutting board.

The condo was clean and ready upon our arrival. Plenty of towels and kitchen was stocked fairly well. Master bed has a hole (dip) on one side that was pretty deep and uncomfortable. Wish they had a broom so I could've swept during our stay. Overall, pleased. View was gorgeous. "

Loved loved the view from the balcony. The unit was very clean & looked to be newly painted. Loved the large master bedroom and bathroom with double sinks. Balcony furniture was clean & in great shape. Beds were comfortable. Only used tv in living room & there were written instructions we followed and had no problem. Would def stay here again. Try the microbrewery Props (in same shopping center as Publix across the bridge) & Rockin Tacos by the pier. "

Everyone we spoke to was very helpful. Unit has a great view. Nice pool and hot tub.
Problems- Master bath tub needs some attention (cracks and needs cauking). Patio door wouldn't lock (not safe if you have little ones). Hot tub out of order for almost an entire day. Advertised 1 free dolphin cruise, but when asked to schedule were informed it was off season. I couldnt find that detail in print anywhere."

The mattress in king bedroom was horrible and needs to be replaced. Was not able to get in and out of tub in master bath. Needs replaced with walk in shower. TV in kids top bunk did not work are would not connect to internet. All other furniture clean and newer. Great views. Kitchen well stocked with dishes, utensils, etc."

The condo at Pelican Isle was lovely - had everything we needed, clean, open - really liked it! The staff we encountered at the building were friendly and very helpful! Our only issues were the residents smoking on their balconies and several times by the pool/hot tub - we thought the space was non-smoking but apparently it's allowed on balconies and public areas - afraid that was rather gross to smell while eating on our balcony or relaxing in the hot tub. Except for that, the rest of our stay was delightful!"

"Best Winter Stay Ever
We enjoyed five beautiful days in the condo with excellent view from two balconies. It was so nice snuggling in bed and listening to the waves crashing or the hiss of the gentle surf as we had access from the master suite. Also, we delighted in the view as we dined in the living area side with its balcony access. The two bedroom condo was quite roomy and had all the amenities of home should one desire to cook a little or maybe launder a few clothes before packing for the return home. The updated furniture was a pleasant surprise that we really liked. We were supplied with ample towels and dishwashing detergent as well. Thank you so much for making this condo available to us where we enjoyed one of our most pleasant stays in years. We will highly recommend this location and this condo to other acquaintances."

My family has stayed in this building several times over the last few years, this unit once before. Before it was rented by the owner. This was the worst stay yet. The busiest week of the year and there was one elevator down the entire week, which wasn't an issue for me but it was for my 86 year old father that came with us. When we inquired about it we got a shoulder shrug and was told we've done all we can do. The last 3 days there was construction next door to us. My children and I were able to escape to the beach but my father was not. By Friday I had a terrible migraine. Again, nothing could be done by either the HOH or Brooks and Shorey. The staircase was filthy as was the lobby. The unit was fine, says sleeps 8 but only had 1 pot and 1 pan to cook with. "

"Great Location and Unit
The condo was obviously taken care of. In the kitchen, the frig, microwave were very clean and updated with black appliances. (white ones can turn yellow and look dirty even if not) In the bathrooms, the grout was clean and not stained, nice. Loved the tile floors and not carpet. Also loved the leather furniture and not fabric. Also, loved the raised table and chairs on the decks. This is a very spacious unit. One recommendation for the unit would be softer bedsheets. The ones we had were a bit scratchy. Recommendations for Pelican Isle, one elevator did not work the entire week we were there. It only became a problem on the Saturdays when there are large amount of check-ins and check-outs. Also, the lobby could use a facelift! The staff were great and the pool was always clean."

"Recent stay at Pelican Isle
My family stay at the beginning of June was enjoyable and restful. The condo was clean, well decorated and had great sleep provisions. The bunk beds in the hallway were perfect for the children (ages 14 and 11). Personal TVs and bookcases at the foot of each twin were an added surprise. The only disappointment at our condo was the patio furniture. Table and all chairs were the raised high stool type. None were the normal height, which prevented me from my favorite restful experience of reading on the patio while listening to and viewing the ocean. Regarding the rental agency, we have used Brooks and Shorey 13 or so years. They are dependable and professional. No complaints with this agency and its staff."

We enjoyed our stay at Pelican Isle. The location was very convenient, and right on the beach so we enjoyed listening to the waves from the balcony. We usually like to go to the beach in the spring or fall so the temperature was a little warmer and more humid than we like. Thank goodness for a good air conditioner! The condo was a nice size for my husband and I. We didn't need the second bedroom or the bunks in the hallway but they looked nice. It's nice that each bunk has its own tv screen. The bed seemed rather firm at first but we slept well."

"Great Family Outing!
Our family members included four generations - from 2 to 85 - and we all loved it. The "senkors" enjoyed the privacy and view from the master while the noisy young ones e joyed the run of the rest of the condo. Room is first one off elevator, has awesome views, and was fully furnished with everything we needed. Desk clerk was friendly and went out of her way to assist us. We hope to visit again!"

"Best stay at Pelican Isle
We have been coming to Pelican Isle location for the past 5 years and this is the best unit so far that we have stayed in. Very clean. Up to date amenities. My kids loved the bunk tvs. The double balcony awesome. Location awesome. View beautiful. Nice to have reserve parking under building. The only draw back has nothing to do with the room. The beach area very crowded this year. Very uncomfortable on how close the beach chairs and umbrellas are placed so close together. I felt that people were right at my elbow almost on top of me. And if someone lights up a cigarette right beside you, Too bad. You'll be smelling it the whole time you're sitting there. The pool area is too small for those days you can not get in the water. We were there on the tail end of a storm and water so strong could not get in water. So pool area very crowded. But over all great unit. Would definitely stay here again."

"Relaxing vacation
We enjoyed this beautiful and very comfortable condo.Sitting on the balcony we were able to watch the dolphins leisurely passing by and entertaining us at times by playfully jumping out of the water. The area has so many things to offer: golfing, shopping and more restaurants than we could get to. The week went by too quickly, but we look forward to coming back again next year. "

"Great Condo!
This condo was wonderful! Beautiful place and a wonderful view of the gulf! Our only complaint would be the cleaning. The floors were gross as if they hadn't been moped in a while. We wouldn't allow our kiddos to go barefoot and made them keep their slippers on. We also had an "issue" when we went to get our amenity card that wasn't with our things when we checked in. When my husband asked for it the next day, the lady at the desk told him it should be in with our paperwork. When he told her it wasn't, her response was, "it should be in there but I'll print another one." We honestly didn't get it to begin with, and our friends who were staying in another condo also had to get theirs printed. It wasn't a big deal, but it was as if we were being questioned as to why we were asking for one. Other than that, it was perfect!!!"

"Fantastic Stay in Pelican Isle #508!
Stayed in early February for a quick extended weekend getaway and had an amazing time! Wish we could have stayed longer! Beautiful, spacious condo was clean, newer appliances. Everything we could have asked for and more. Only complaint was the check-in process was not exactly user friendly. They instruct you that your are not able to check-in prior to 4:00 PM or possibly later than that due to cleaning but their office closes at 5:00 PM, so this only affords you a small window in order to check-in and get any questions answered. We had planned on arriving at 4:30 but caught in traffic and arrived closer to 6:00. With no one to answer any of our questions we were on our own to figure out everything as far as getting our key/packet, parking and any other questions we had. A small inconvenience in our eyes for an otherwise excellent experience!"

"Little things make a big Difference!!
The location of the property was prime!! The property itself was a bit shabby with many things were overlooked. If it wasnt up to us to be determinned that nothing was going to ruin our vacation it could have easily been spoiled.... First of all the day we walked in the air Conditioning was turned off an the condo was about 90 degrees, the refigerator and freezer were off so we had no ice and no place to store the food we had just purchased. That night we wne to bed and pulled the sofa sleeper out and it was broken and unsleepable due to the metal bars being rammed through the back of the couch!! By the way it took 3 days to get another couch in there, so my 26 year old sister had to sleep on the floor the first 3 nights of her vacation that she paid for! Leason learned... I will always inspect before I sign for the condo next time! We made the best of it and will not rent there again."

"Pelican Isle
This was our forth year to the Destin/Ft Walton Beach area. I did like the Pelican Isle location and pool.
The unfortunate part of the trip was our first day was pretty much shot because of my wife having to clean the condo before she felt she could stay there. I will admit that my wife is certainly on the clean side and I am not but is was not hard for me to see how dirty the condo was. The front desk offered to resend a cleaning crew the next day but that didn't help much since my wife didn't want to stay in the filth. It was obvious that only a quick wipe down was done on all the bathrooms and the tubs had to be untouched based on the status of them.
I would attribute this problem to Brooks and Shorey and there contracted cleaning crew more than the Pelican Isle itself. This is the second year we have stayed in a Brooks and Shorey resort and we had similar issues the previous stay. Rooms were always clean when we booked through Southern Resorts. My guess is they don't use the same cleaning service. I would strongly recommend someone do some research into this and find some new help or a new cleaning company. I met several people at the Pelican Isle and they all seem to have similar problem with the condition of the room at check-in.
The room was very nice except the carpet was way over due for replacement. They delivered new furniture the day after we checked out so hopefully this is in the plans. I loved the large deck and the pool at the Pelican Isle was great.
I am not returning to Florida this year for vacation but will likely do so next year. I would stay at the Pelican Isle again. I am just not certain I would book a room through Brooks and Shorey unless I was certain they had made changes to there cleaning staff. I would rather pay a little more and have the first 6 hours of my trip relaxing instead of waiting for my wife to finish cleaning the room.
