"Overall Great Experience
Had an amazing time in Ft. Walton. The condo is close to lots of food, the Boardwalk is 5 minutes away and easy access to the beach. Great view from the 2nd floor balcony of the ocean. AC wasn't working when we got there but thankfully the weather was cool so no big deal and they came to fix it quickly without fuss! The two chairs that came with the unit were nice and they had someone to set them up each morning. The pull out couch is not comfortable very thin mattress/adults would not enjoy but for kids it was fine:) Heated pool and jacuzzi were favorites for the kids. Overall great unit, great location and would love to come back again!"

"IP213 Is A Great Getaway
We've stayed at the Island Princess multiple times and IP213 continued to meet our needs well. The second floor view was great, though there was some concern on that before arriving. Easy access with stairs and an elevator close by. The layout was great four our two couples and everything was very comfortable. We'll definitely consider this property on our next trip. I would recommend the second bedroom be updated with curtains and a new bed frame for even better sleep. Thanks for sharing your property with us."

Nice place except for one thing. The first thing you see on the 2nd floor is an overflowing trash can. Out of seven days it was only not overflowing 1 day. No big deal to me but an eyesore very visible as soon as you arrive. Great place though."

Overall a good stay, although the entire condo would benefit from being updated. The appliances don't match and the overall lighting is on the darker side in the bathrooms and living area. The front lights stopped working towards the end of our stay and the door handle to the patio began to come loose as well. Some maintenance and some updates would serve the room well. Condo was an easy walk to the beach and pool and the view was great. The included beach chairs and umbrella was convenient. "

We had two maintenance issues on two separate days. When we called to report these issues, maintenance was sent out within the hour and fixed both items quickly. "

Condo was very clean and comfortable. We absolutely loved going out on the balcony every morning and evening. It felt like we were ON the beach it was so close. Small things make a big difference, like the height of the balcony table and chairs. They were bar height so that we could see the ocean clearly without the railing bars obstructing our view. That was a biggie for us. Location to restaurants were great. It was our first vacation in 17 years without kids, was extremely relaxing and peaceful. We would definitely rent this condo again!"

Condo was good. Great location and loved having the beach chairs. Beds were very comfortable and condo was clean and in good shape. Washer was REALLY small (only held 2 beach towels) and couldn't run washer and dryer at the same time. I have rented many condos in the past and have never seen a washer/dryer that you had to switch back and forth between the two. The couch was really uncomfortable to sit in.. made a lot of noise. Took up to 45 minutes to book the free golf each time as they use an outside service that was struggling with the bookings. Generally a fun and relaxing place... "

"Love the location and the view
I loved the location and the view but we paid for house cleaning services and ended up having to clean. The furniture was dirty there were dirty silverware and knives in the drawer with food on them one bed had a sandy grit in it but I took the sheets and shook. There was no dishwashing soap had only 2 garbage bags and had to clean before we left. Don’t understand the cleaning fee if you do all the work clean the dishes take out the garbage etc."

Lovely, clean condo with perfect view of the Gulf. Great amenities--we liked not having to lug any chairs to the beach. Living room furniture may need to be updated. Also noticed it's very warm in the master bedroom, even after we had the drapes closed all day to keep out sun. Overall, this is a beautiful place to stay, especially if you're a first-timer."

"Loved the view!!
I loved being able to see the waves when I opened my eyes in the morning. The condo had everything needed and more.
I should mention a few very minor things — a loud bang in the middle of the night, turned out to be a picture falling off the wall, and all of the glass table tops really need to be lifted off and cleaned under — but I imagine that is a job that is only done once in a while. The sink drain in the master bath was a little slow. And there was a not so clean throw rug in the master bath that I moved to the front door to keep sand from coming in — which is where it looked like it belonged. (And where one is really needed!)
I had read the reviews and knew the washer and dryer were an issue for some folks — only being able to perform one function (wash or dry) at a time. But it worked fine for just one person.
I would definitely recommend this condo unit and this rental company — hope the next time I come back the water will be as crystal clear all week as it was the last two days!"

"Gorgeous view
The rental was vary spacious and clean when we first arrived. As soon as you walk in the door, your breath is taken away from the gorgeous view! The balcony was a great size and both my grandsons loved being out there. I feel the owner did a great job in their description of the rental. The beach is literally just minutes, a short walk, from the rental. This is definitely a place we would consider renting again!"

One of the main reasons I chose this unit over some of the slightly cheaper units was the amount of emphasis placed on the beds. The beds did have really nice mattresses. However, in master bedroom, the mattress had a very large dip in it. My other main complaint is about the washer/dryer. They could not be ran at the same time, making laundry hard to complete. "

Ice maker in the unit was not working.
We did not contact anyone just bought a bag of ice.
Both bathrooms tile have mold growing on the wall otherwise the condo was very clean and compfortable.
Mattress on king size bed was interesting, seems to be a piece of foam but had definite wear.

"Enjoyable Football Weekend
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Island Princess 213 this past weekend. The unit was quiet and had a wonderful view. The setup worked well with the guest bath offering access from the second bedroom and from the hall, so we were able to close it off as a second suite at night or close off the bedroom to allow guest bathroom access for visitors. The TV was a great size for football on Saturday and the layout through the dining room to kitchen offered plenty of seating and everyone remained engaged with the group. The pool was clean, but never very crowded, and the beach chairs were set up almost right at the water, which was very nice. We cooked some, but did order take-out pizza from Fokker's Pub the night we arrived and went to Sealand and Harbor Docks for other meals. Both check-in and check-out were easy too. Overall, it was a great trip and I will check this unit's availability when planning our next trip. "

I was very disappointed in the washer/dryer. I've never seen one like that before in a condo. You could only wash or a dry a load at a time. There was a switch that you had to move to wash or dry. It took forever to wash a few loads of laundry.
I was also disapointed with the couch and loveseat. They were hard and very uncomfortable. They appeared to be new but should be replaced immediately.
The view was beautiful. I loved the new app that the management company has. I have rented from this company before and they have always been very nice and professional.
Upon arriving at the condo, we loved the view and the appearance of the condo. However, we will not stay at this condo again if the couch and washer/dryer has not been replaced. I could not refer this condo to someone either because of the seating and washer/dryer. "

"Lovely Ocean View
We had a great experience at this condo. The beach was easy to get to. The view from the balcony was amazing. I loved that there wasn't carpet. It was very clean and aesthetically pleasing. It is just a short drive to lots of restaurants and activities. We could see the fireworks on the harbor bridge on Wednesday night from our balcony. The only negative was hearing the pool gate open and shut a lot and the sounds of kids screaming at the pool. I will be returning for sure."

"Wonderful Beaches and Views
This was our first trip to the area and we really enjoyed it. Our only complaints would be 1) one side of the king size bed in the main bedroom had a deep sunken area- my husband and I both had to sleep on one half of the bed. 2) the sleeper sofa looks in good condition but was very uncomfortable. Other than those issues, the condo was great! Beachfront and awesome views! "

We have a group of friends that make the trip to the gulf coast every September. This was our 20th year in a row! We have stayed in many vacation rentals. We have stayed at the Island Princess a few times and always have a wonderful time. Our family makes the trip down from Kentucky most every spring as well. I think I have stayed in a condo in the gulf coast approx. 40 times now. So...I consider myself a good person to judge the units we stay in."

The room was clean and fresh. It met our every need. Covered parking was nice and the elevator was close. The rooms were comfortable and the view and location was perfect! The two recliners in the Condo were very comfortable and inviting. No trouble, no noise, no problems. The beach was easy to access, and the chairs/umbrellas were convenient. We used the outside grills and they were clean, available and gas operated (free to me! I liked that)!"

"Great Vacation
This is a wonderful location. Upon arriving checking in was a breeze. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking and there are plenty of towels. The only issue we had with the stay is that the entire condo was extremely dusty and the floors were filthy. After walking on the floors from the moment we walked in our feet were black, unfortunately it looked liked it had not been cleaned in sometime,which is not good because we were charged a cleaning fee as I am sure everyone else is. But that is the only negative thing I can say about this condo. We had a problem with the dryer and they had someone there on about 30 minutes to fix it. We will rent again. Great place."

"Great vacation!
Nice vacation rental. I would stay here again. We had 3 adults and 3 kids (6 yr old twins & 5 yr old). The kids slept on the pullout and had plenty of space. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. We drove in from Texas and would have liked an earlier check in. 4 pm is late and I feel like we lost a day of vacation especially since checkout is at 10. The kids loved sitting on the patio to eat breakfast. The view is beautiful. The condo looks well maintained. The kitchen is big and it has everything you need to cook. There was a broom and a vacuum in the condo. The broom didn't have a dust pan (we bought one and left it) and the vacuum wouldn't turn on. The floors have a constant layer of sand (even upon arrival) so it would be nice to have a swiffer vacuum or something to help clean it up. We wore our flip flops the entire time in the condo. There is a closet with lots of games for the family to play. We had a lot of fun and I would recommend this property to friends and family. "

We arrived last minute for a family emergency and Brooks and Shorey Resorts accommodated us despite it being a busy spring break! The home was very nicely decorated. The bathrooms could use an update and plumbing is very noisy, especially at night. I am a very light sleeper, so it was a problem for me, but the other guests were fine with it. I also didn't like the memory foam toppers on the beds, but again, only my personal preference. The home is relaxing,CLEAN,and beautiful. The view of the ocean from the balcony is breathtaking! The price was right! I only wish we were there for vacation and not taking an emergency trip. We usually rent private homes, but this was bustling and fun. It will be a new way we visit the gulf area every year when we can make it as a vacation and not a mission. The Brooks and Shorey Resorts people were fantastic!!!! "

We loved this condo. The view was amazing, good location. The ONLY things that should be addressed-- the pull-out sofa bed is partially broken at the bottom and neither an adult (comfort) nor a small child (safety) should sleep on it. Only kiddos from ages 6-12 would probably be comfortable on it. The washer/dryer are small so don't bring a lot of laundry. We LOVED the amenities package and plan to stay again!!!"

Great location, beautiful view, nice pool, great beach/umbrella service. The sleeper sofa needs to be replaced. Was not pleased with the property management company. We arrived early, knew we would have to wait, however they were not very accommodating & had to drive back to retrieve key. I would suggest if considering the island princess, go with another property management company."

Only complaint I have was the sofa bed was horrible, the blender didn't work, and you could only wash or dry not both at the same time. It is not a biggy but, we called to ask if it was possible for a 10;30 check out and the office was very nice in granting it. However, at 10;00 on the dot maid sevice was knocking on our door. We were able however to leave about 10;10. Other than that everything was great!"

We looked forward to going to Florida & staying at the Island Princess once again in the same unit as last year. We were so dissapointed that the unit was in such great need of total renovation. The owners really need to know that the property needs new carpet, needs new vanity in both bathrooms, needs drawer replaced in refrigerator, needs a new can opener, the coffee table in the living room is still the same as it was last year - very unstable!!! The switches for the ceiling fans/lights were taped over (what was this about?)! The mattress pad on the king bed in master bedroom was stained with what looked like urine or uck! The sliding glass doors do not match. We were very dissapointed with the unit! Not sure we will be contacting Brooks & Shorey in the future if this is the way they treat the properties.

View is great and overall was a very nice condo. Washer and dryer are way too small. They were the smallest I have ever seen out of all the places I have rented. Fridge took all night to get cold so we had to buy coolers to store the food we had bought upon arrival. Condo was clean, but whatever was used to clean smells terrible. Fridge smelled horrible until it finally got cold."

We arrived early to check-in and our room was not ready but the lady took our phone number and called us as soon as it was ready which was before normal check-in at 4:00. We arrived at our room and the maids were just leaving. The room was very clean and everything worked as it should. The pictures on the website matched the room perfectly! I'm always nervous when booking a new place but, with this one, I had no reason to be nervous! It couldn't have been better!"

"Great Stay! We really enjoyed our stay at the Island Princess #213.
The property was very nice and convenient to everything. Entry and exit from the property was awesome, no traffic to deal with. The condo was beautifully decorated and clean. Loved the temper-pedic mattress toppers and the flat screen TVs. There was no i-Pod dock, as was stated on-line, but that was no big deal. We liked being on the second floor. It was convenient to the pool and beach, and we had a great view from the balcony and from the living room (you could sit on the couch and still see the ocean). The parking was also great, we could park under the covered deck or on the top of the deck (we chose the latter and just took 3 steps down and a short walk to the room). We chose to eat out for our meals, but if we had decided to cook at the condo, the kitchen did not appear to be very well stocked. That was really the only negative about #213, but it did not affect our stay. The Brooks and Shorey staff was friendly and helpful. The dishwasher was broken prior to our check-in, and they got it fixed promptly. We originally booked our stay for 4 nights, but we were having such a great stay that we added on 1 more night. Luckily, the condo was available and the Brooks and Shorey staff was just a phone call away. I would definitely recommend staying at #213 and we can't wait to stay there again. "

We had a very nice time. Could have used more towels and wash clothes. Masterbath needed to be cleaned a little better. A little mildew around tub. Master bedroom bed broke. Wish I could take blame! C.D. player was broke. Pots in very bad shape. HOWEVER, these were just little problems,except the bed, and it was fixed that day. "

Our vacation trip to Ft. Walton Beach couldn't have been more perfect. I loved sitting on the balcony enjoying the ocean. The beach was very close, too. The condo was well stocked with plenty of pots & pans & towels. The furniture was good quality and the condo was decorated tastefully. I'd love to stay there again on my next trip to Ft. Walton."

This was a great vacation and the property was amazing. The appliances were a little to be desired, but otherwise the unit was perfect for us. I really appreciated the Island Princess' maintenance staff. The pool and grounds were very well taken care of - they did a great job. We would definitely stay there again. "
