Very and relaxing vacation rental

"Great location, not a perfect stay though.
Loved the location of this unit however there were some unfortunate issues.
CONS:
- Although we were warned well in advance, the construction going on during our stay was extremely annoying. They had machines sanding the flooring off the ground on the level above us for two days and then on our floor another day. It was so loud that we couldn't even talk to each other most mornings of our stay.
- Found a few stray black hairs that weren't ours around the unit and in some kitchen drawers.
- Some of the sinks and the bathtub in the front bedroom would not drain properly and were clogged which was not pleasant.
PROS:
- We did not have a coffee pot in our room, the booking agency sent us a brand new coffee maker within hours which was much appreciated.
- Amazing view of the beach every day from our balcony.
- Very seamless check in and check out.
I would definitely book through Brooks and Shorey again as the trip was great overall.

The condo itself is nice however our condo was pretty dirty the carpet needs replaced, also lacking amount of frying pans. Other then that it has great views being on 6th floor you get to see some nice sun sets and sun rises. I'd stay here again if cleaning was improved."

Good place to stay but be aware of the pool when entering because it’s very slick! There is no texture at all on the steps and I had a good fall when I hit the first step! My foot flew out from under me and I hurt my foot and bruised up my arm which I should have filed a accident report to yhe rental company but forgot! The hot tub is not too great! The view was fantastic and right on the beach! Jellyfish was a problem there but we still enjoyed the beach! This place is a great place to rent from but I will avoid this certain condo # because it was small for 8 people! "

"So Much Fun Here!!
We were all very pleased with the location of this wonderful condo! We had 5 adults, 1 toddler, and an infant on our trip. The condo was very clean and well kept! We were able to enjoy the pool and the beach each day and it was very convenient to be able to take the little ones up for nap time each day. The office staff that contacted us with details was very pleasant and helpful. I would recommend this condo to anyone heading to Ft. Walton!"

Condo was exactly what we wanted. Space was good. Master bedroom & bathroom was very comfortable. Living area & kitchen was perfect size. But it’s all about the view! So very awesome!! Pool was great. And the beach was spectacular. We especially liked the chairs that came with the rental. Overall it was an awesome vacation!! Highly recommend you stay here!"

"Great Condo
This was our 2nd time in IP 610. The decor is great! The view can't be beat. Pool noise was more noticeable, but families are vacationing again, so it's to be expected. The carpet is showing wear, but overall, the unit was clean. I couldn't find a baking sheet and some of the kitchen utensils could be updated. I'd also suggest more plastic drinking glasses. We've worked with Brooks and Shorey for several years and will continue to do so. I would recommend them and this condo to others!"

"Disappointed
This was our 2nd time at this unit. There were a few minor issues which we did report such as outlets that didn’t work, the handle on the back door slider was broken, a toilet seat that was broken and terrible utensils with which to cook. The real issue was having to wait in line for 20 minutes to get beach chair assignments. We didn’t go on vacation to wait in lines. Will not be staying at The Island Princess again."

"Another Great Stay on Okaloosa Island!
Our annual family visit to our favorite beach was wonderful! The IP 610 condo was very clean, well stocked and easy for any of us to access with keypad door. The 6th floor has a great view of the beach & the pelicans soaring by near eye level. We loved our days at the beach! Thank you. "

"Awesome stay on Okaloosa
This was our fourth stay in Island Princess over the last five years. So obviously we love it. Island Princess is a beautiful seven story building with immaculate condos. The pool is pretty nice and it also has a hot tub. The beach is beautiful. The sand may not be quite as white as Destin, but the beaches are much less crowded!
Island Princess is conveniently located to several restaurants in Fort Walton, as well as on the island.
I highly recommend IP, as well as Brooks and Shorey Resorts! We will definitely be back!"

"Great view, inside and out
This was the 3rd time we'd rented a condo in FWB. They've all been nice, but this one was the most upscale. Everything was so good, from the beautiful appliances to the living room furniture. The only issue was the master bedroom mattress. It was weird. If you even moved slightly, the strange creaking would wake up the other person. I like a plush mattress,but it was strange.
The view is fantastic. The location, ideal. We would love to stay there again. (Hopefully with a new mattress)"

Certain things showed some age but the condo was clean and well kept. We had 4 adults and 4 small kids and had plenty of space for everyone to be comfortable. "

"Late Check-In
We arrived at the check-in office at around 1:30 on Saturday July 30 and was told the unit was not cleaned yet and they would contact me when it was cleaned. We went over to the Island Princess to look around and went up to the unit to see where it was located. We noticed the blinds were open and the unit appeared to be clean. There was a cleaning lady a couple of doors down who told us she finished the unit at around 1:30. I called back to the office and was told we could not get in as the unit was not ready. I was told we would be in the unit by 4PM. At 4:30, after I called the office and asked why we had not been allowed to access the unit, someone walked to the unit, opened the door and did a 2 minute walk thru and left. I then received a phone call with the code to access the unit. I asked Brooks & Shorey for a 1/2 day refund since their contract states they will charge you a fee if you check out late, but they refused my request. If they have a shortage of cleaning inspectors, that should not impact their customers. I feel that since the unit was clean when we arrived, they should have had an inspector look at the unit right away instead of having us wait around for almost 3 hours. I have been coming to the Destin/Ft. Walton Beach area for 16 years and this is the first time this has happened and it is also the first time I have used Brooks & Shorey. I will not be using Brooks & Shorey again. If I owned this condo, I would not want my customers treated this way."

We LOVE this condo! The view, the location, the updated kitchen and furniture keeps us coming back to the same condo. However, the carpet needs to be replaced with either tile or new carpet. We had to keep socks on our toddler because her feet would get so dirty:( Other than that it is a wonderful condo! "

We have stayed at IP before and this time the experience was nicer. The Condo was updated and clean! Center elevator is slow so we just used the end elevator closer to the unit. The addition of the screens for the slider doors and digital keyless entry was a huge plus! We would stay here again for sure. Check in and out was the easiest of all vaca rentals we've ever done!! "

This vaca rental was great in every catagory except the furniture. The bed in the master bedroom was very uncomfortable. The sofa and chairs were also useless. The beach, view,staff,location and the rest of the condo were excellent! If the owner replaces the furniture with new this would be a home run.

"Beautiful Condo, Subpar Service
During the week of October 12-16, my family and I stayed in unit 610 at the Island Princess. First of all, Brooks and Shorey were very accommodating when working with us and returning phone calls when we had to make some last minute changes.
The condo was very clean and well-stocked with amenities and supplies.
The beach view was perfect, and the condo was aesthetically pleasing. However, when looking a little bit more closely, it was easy to see it needs a bit of work. The carpet heading into the second bedroom was pulling up from the floor and several times, my daughter stepped on it and hurt her foot. Secondly, both screen doors were broken on the balcony, which was extremely frustrating if you wanted to leave the doors open. Finally, in the second bedroom, the shower did not drain properly.
Although the condo had some issues, the most frustrating situation was the beach (which is extremely irritating because that’s why we saved our money up for so long- for our beach vacation). The first day was a trial run, and we learned quickly that you had to get in line and wait for chairs about 8:30 in the morning. Even after doing this, we still ended up in the back row every day. Not only is this seating mass chaos with parents yelling at their children to run to seats in the front and throw towels in the chairs to save them, but we were also met with several reserved seats that NO ONE SAT IT ALL DAY. Relaxing with a beach chair and umbrella while allowing my daughters to play in the water was impossible in the back row because there was an entire row of seats in front of us with reserved stickers and no one in them. Several times I tried to express my frustrations to the employees, and each time I was met with an unapologetic, “There’s nothing I can do about it.”
Until this situation is resolved, I would not recommend staying at the Island Princess. No one should have to pay that much money to sit in the back row away from the ocean e"

The overall aesthetic was beautiful. Loved the kitchen. My only complaint would be that perhaps the carpet needs to be cleaned on the furniture aired out. I thought it smelled of dirty sneakers, my husband described it as a tent. I bought candles and Febreeze to cover the smell. "

"Fall Break fabulous
This condo is great space for our family. We loved the furnishings and accommodations. We were a little concerned about the carpet (just really worn--needed a good steam clean). The patio furniture was fine, but with kids, I'd prefer a standard height instead of bar height table and chairs. The master bathroom towel bar wasn't on the wall and the tub is overdue for being replaced, but it was spacious and clean. One of the other bathroom's tub drained REALLY slowly (probably due to sand from many renters). Loved having a keypad for entry and a marked parking space. The beach toys were a bonus. The BEST PART was having the reserved chairs on the beach free as part of the reservation. The attendant was super. Fall break was the perfect time to come down!"

"We were pleasantly surprised
I am usually not satisfied with the cleanliness when I stay at a condo but this time I was very happy with the condition of the unit. We really had a nice time and the maintenance crew at Island Princess were really good at cleaning the pool area daily. The condo was nicely stocked, but I thought it would be nice to have a few plastic cups and plates for the little ones. The only down side is the beach service guys. Don't assume you will get the umbrella and beach chairs because they will probably tell you they are reserved for owners and send you on your way."

We loved the condo and the layout! we had a beautiful view of the gulf! The only thing missing was a hairdryer. Not the biggest deal but we did have to make a trip to the store and buy one. Other then that we had a wonderful experience!"

"Amazing with little defective appearances...
We had a great time in Island Princess 610. Amazing view, well and comfortable furnished. Only the sofa sorrowly was kinda grubby and should be replaced or upholstered....also the condition of some of the dressers was shaky and we did not dare pulling out the drawers!
What we did not unterstand was the fact, that we did not have a reservated beachservice in this year. This was very different to our experience of the last years when there was always one beachservice reservated on our name every day so that we could come relaxed whenever we wanted to. So it was a bit annoying that hardly all beachservices were reservated "only for real owners" and all the guests had to be on the beach early enough because the beachboys told us it is "first in first out".....there were about 30 reservated ones and 6 beachservices not being reservated for owners! This is sth. Brookes and Shoreys probably might discuss with the beachboys!?
All in all the condo was really nice with an excellent furniture on the balcony and we really enjoyed staying there!"

"Island Princess 610
We had a very enjoyable experience except for the beach service. The main guy was arrogant and had the guests line up and wait until he deigned to let them go to their beach chairs, even though they were reserved. Evidently our chairs were not reserved, even though it was included in the rental, because we had no tag. We have stayed in Fort Walton for years and have never had this kind of experience. We also heard other people complaining about the service."

"You can't beat the view
This is a great condo right on the beach. All the rooms have a bathroom, so it it great for multiple familes. The beach is fantastic and beach attendants are awesome. The only real drawwback was the elevators, they are all outside and pretty slow, and there is no ventilation inside them. They We will definitley look to the Island Princess for our next beach trip."

"Great Location , Slept like a baby, still needs some improvements
Stunning view and nicely decorated with comfortable beds. Enjoyed watching the dolphins swim in the morning. Air Conditioner worked great and the rooms smelled fresh. Guess my complaint is that there were no grab rails in the bathroom tubs. 1999 Microwave is rusty inside and very weak so it takes a long time to cook anything. Dishwasher rack is rusty too. Only one skillet to use and it was peeling teflon. We did make sure we picked up a new skillet at Walmart (of course we brought it home with us). Only one bedroom had any clothes hangers but we acquired some hangers which we did leave for future guest. Ceiling light fixture fell on my wife when i pulled the light cord, and noticed it was missing one of the screws to hold it on securely. There is no TV guide so to select a tv channel you have to channel up (remote won't allow you to insert a channel number)took a lot of time to search channels. No telephone since the Magic Jack phone would not work properly even after doing a hard reset. Plastic chairs on the deck are old and not comfortable. So EVERYTHING IS NOT NEW! As the heading states. But we still had a great stay. High Tide (restaurant) is close and serves great food. Everyone in my group said they has the best shrimp out of all the other restaurants we went to!"

"Love, Love, Love!
The Island Princess in one of my favorite condo complexes to stay at in the Ft. Walton/Destin area. Ft. Walton is great if you want to be close to all the action, but not right in the middle of it all. This unit was perfect for our group. 6 of us ladies went down for a girls weekend away and we couldnt have asked for anything nicer. Plenty of room and 3 bathrooms for all 6 women was a blessing :) The view is spectacular and the beds and furniture were very pretty and comfortable. The kitchen was well equiped and Brooks, Shorey was so easy to work with, polite and pleasant! I usually rent through managers or owners, but they never give me free stuff or a gift bag :) Thank you so much for supplying a beautiful unit that accomodated all of our needs and wants! We will definitely be back!"

Love this unit. Very spacious and we loved the view. We also liked the fact that it had a bathroom attached to ever room. The check in was easy as well. Our vacation went as smooth as it could have possibly went. Right on the beach was a plus! The extra free added beach chairs with umbrella was a plus.
