"Wonderful Experience
We were very satisfied with our stay. We got to the beach early on our arrival date and there were bathrooms located near the pool so we could change and go to beach where we waited to hear from rental company that our room was ready. We were in our room by 1:30. The location was perfect and very quiet. The condo was perfectly equipped. We were so impressed with all the equipment, plates, bowls, glasses, storage containers, pots and pans the kitchen had to offer. Best equipped kitchen unit we have ever stayed at. The unit was clean and decorated beautifully. Well taken care of and updated. We are looking forward to staying again! "

"Perfect spot for Gulf vacation
We loved our stay at Summerlin 101. This is a corner condo with amazing views of the Gulf of Mexico from the kitchen, dining room, living room and master bedroom. When we arrived, you could smell that the room had just been cleaned. It is really like a home away from home. The owner has some beach toys, chairs, and a small cooler that were really helpful when we went to the beach for the day. The beach is just a few steps away from the room. We plan to stay again. "

"Enjoyable
The condo is lovely, love the location. The updates in the main bath were beautiful. We have stayed here for several years and we will probably rent it again next year. As my parents are aging and my mom now needs a walker the new shower was great. BUT it would have been better if there had been handicap rails installed. Over all it was an enjoyable three days. Thank you. It’s always clean and welcoming. "

Summerlin is the place to stay when visiting Ft. Walton Beach. There are few units, the beaches are not crowded and the property is great. Beach chairs and an umbrella are set up daily...I've returned to this location three times in the last decade and it's a great place to stay!"

"Family Vacation
The place is pretty much what it looks like in the pictures. It is in some need of updates, carpet needs replaced in the bedroom and needs to have some cosmetic work done in the bathrooms. But I did not expect a 5 star room so I am not disappointed with the room. No problem getting beach chairs but you have to go down every morning to reserve a spot. They wont put you name on it and hold it for you. Hope you drive a very small vehicle to utilize the indoor parking. We had a Sienna van and needed a spotter to get it pulled in. Ended up parking outside after the 1st day. I did not like the outdoor furniture. It wasn't very comfortable and the picture makes the balcony look larger than it actually is. It is a nice place to stay and the view is good. Pool is very small"

Great location! Condo was clean and ready to go on time. Brooks and Shorey has never failed us! We were worried at first that the condo would be ready until 6 pm because of cleaning protocols, but we were called at 2:30 and said it was ready to go. Thanks B&S! The only problems we encountered were a low battery in smoke alarm at 1 in the morning and a broken table leg that we fixed."

"Perfect location
The layout of the condo was perfect for our family of 3. The beach access was amazing! We did have trouble getting into the condo. We were given a door code that did not work. We left a voicemail with the after hours emergency number. Our call was returned in a timely manner and we were able to get settled in.
The condo was very clean, but had a musty smell. I am not sure if the dehumidifier was not working or if the carpet had gotten wet at some point.
The checkout process was incredibly easy. The Alexa works great!"

This great home away from home is one level up from the beach and pool, very roomy, lots of storage and two nice bedrooms. Nicely furnished with good wi fi and a roomy balcony. The beach is steps away and is beautiful. Three good restaurants and clubs are about 2 miles away with many more within 5 miles."

"Excellent condo!
We loved staying here! The views of the ocean from the balcony and the side view were amazing! The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was very spacious with the island. The couch seemed very worn and was not comfortable. The large TV in the living room was great and there was a tv in each of the bedrooms. I loved the ocean view and access to the balcony from the master bedroom. The bathrooms were great size. Overall the place was clean and the decor was nice. The only things I would like to suggest is getting a new couch and there needs to be cabinet space in the kitchen to put groceries. There were 2 panties which were both locked so we could not store groceries for the week and there was only room in 1 small cabinet above the stove, all of the other cabinets were all full of dishes. "

"Excellent condo!
We stayed in Summerlin 101 May 20-24, 2018. The condo was exceptionally clean. Access was easy and amazing. We used the keypad on the front door and enjoyed not having to keep up with a key. The balcony was amazing a we watched dolphins play every day while drinking coffee. Check in and check out with the app was super simple and the follow up calls from the Brooks and Shorey personnel were professional and helpful. Loved listening to the waves from the balcony. We were right above the pool, but never heard the swimmers. The appliances were up to date and everything worked well. Having garage parking was easy and convenient. Beaches in front of our bldg were never crowded and always had access to beach chairs and umbrella. Walked to the pier - it’s a lot further than it looks. But, really enjoyed the walk and lots to see there. Will definitely return to this vacation rental when we go back to Okaloosa Island. "

Nice and peaceful as always. The only problem is I don't know if its cause I am getting older or what but the bed in the master is terrible, so were the sheets. The bed is getting harder and the sheet were rough fabric softener would work wonders. but other wise I had a great time. I even got a double rainbow one morning it was beautiful. "

"July trip to Destin
The rental was really nice. The carpeting was new, the kitchen was fully loaded with high end appliances and granite counter tops. The view and the location to the beach were amazing. Having a washer and dryer onsite was really nice. This comes with a umbrella and two chairs which was great. My only recommendation for this condo is to upgrade the bed mattress. For having thousands of dollars in updates in the kitchen the bed was very "motel" feeling. It offered no support and the sheets were like sand paper. For the kids this is no big deal, but for parents this is a huge selling point. We even went to sleep on the couch multiple nights because it was more comfortable. "

"Dream Beach Vaca!
The view was spectacular all day everyday. The condo is absolutely beautiful and everything we expected. This rental hit every one of our boxes we needed for an awesome vacation for our large family - the condo was very comfortable and home like, the beach and pool were steps away and the proximity to everything we needed (grocery stores, shops and restaurants) were within miles of our location. I highly recommend this condo to anyone with a family/large group. Our family will definitely be back in the near future!

The property description is accurate. We've stayed in this building before, although in a different condo. The property is very nice, clean, and seems very well maintained. Unit 101 is very pretty and comfortable. Although the weather wasn't particularly good, the condo was exceptionally good. No problems at all. "Awesome, but minor issues
We rent this exact same condo every two years. Unfortunately, there were a few minor issues this year. The air conditioning ran 24 hours a day, and never reached the cooling point of 74. My husband pulled the furnace filter out and it was filthy and full of debris. He said, it looked like it had not been changed in several months. The condo was not as clean as it has been in the past. There was mold growing in the master shower/tub area. We reported these issue to the property manager. We own rental property in the Radcliff, Ky area and realize the difficulty of being a land lord. "

Great condo! Summerlil 101 was Great! You could not have had a better location! Just steps to the Ocean. Views were great! Corner condo gave us views on two sides which was great. Covered reserve parking made it so good. Elevator was in good location and was easy to use. Have stayed in some condos that had to have number codes to get to floors that was confusing but not here! Plenty of kitchen room and supplies. We hope to return again!!"

Only complaints: 1) Someone "fixed" the stove cooktop and did not put it back together correctly - including incorrect size burner reflectors, 2) Found two boxes of dishwashing detergent under sink (yea!) - both were solid as a rock. Pluses: 1) Corner unit with wonderful views, 2) Patio with sliding doors in LR and master BR, 3) beautiful countertops & tile in kitchen area. Would definitely recommend staying here!"

"This was bad
To whom it may concern:
I have booked through Brooks and Shorey for the last several years and have stayed at the Summerlin. I have rented units 602, 505, and 303. This past trip was a short stay and I even paid an extra fee that would allow allow me to check-in early. We were given unit 101. This unit is in much need of repair and a thorough cleaning. Stan (property manager) was called and he immediately sent the house keeping supervisor over and she explained “that this was the end of the season and that the deep cleaning for the units had not been done” and what I was seeing was ware and tare for this summer season.
Unit 101 has mold and mildew growing in the HVAC closest, the glasses and flatware were put back in the drawers and cabinets dirty. The inside of the cabinets are filthy and the drawers are filled with some type of used plug-in air freshener that helps mask the milder odor. The refrigerator was covered in what appeared to be sugar and there were used paper plates behind the sofa. The screens for the sliding glass doors have big holes in them and the toilet seats have bad stains.

We were very pleased with the location of the condo, and the fact that it was an end unit with views of the beach from the living room, master bedroom, dining room and kitchen. There were six of us in the unit, and we managed quite well on sleeping arrangements. All in all, we were very pleased with the accommodations, and other family that came to visit liked the place as well. The only items we needed but couldn't find were pillow cases for the extra pillows. It was a great unit that I would highly recommend and will return to again. The property management staff were very pleasant and helpful. Great experience!"

Summerlin 101 is one of the best condos I have ever stayed in. The location, decor, layout is just awesome! It was great to be on the corner right above the pool and the beach boardwalk! And the staff??? THE BEST EVER!!! We have already made reservations (after we got home LAST year) for this summer! (July 25 - July 31) and hopefully will continue to come back every single summer. Our four kids LOVED it, too and felt like they were at home...none of us ever want to leave once we get settled in!"
