"Relaxing and comfortable
The house was comfortable and had beautiful views. It was well stocked with kitchen, bathroom and linen items. Only a couple of call outs for the rental agency to be aware: there were fruit flies, the pool cues were missing tips and the kitchen island corner panel.was broken (unglued). Other than that, everything was in great shape. "

"Lots of space with lovely views
Overall this was a great spot for our extended family of ten to gather for a long weekend. There was space enough for us to eat together, spend time lounging and the views of the ocean and ravine were lovely. We saw lots of native wildlife, including some bucks fighting like on a nature show! Some of us enjoyed the hot tub and game room, which are great amenities to have! The kitchen is fairly well stocked and there is loads of prep space. We wish the kitchen cupboards had a little more attention paid to them as we found mouse droppings* in the back of the lower corner cabinet and some crusty/old pans that need to be retired/replaced. It would also be nice if the air freshener smell was less aggressive. Overall is was a very pleasant stay and we would return or recommend to others. *the house backs up to a ravine with lots of nature all around so critters are to be expected but not cleaning up after them is not "

"Great thanksgiving trip with family
What a great house for our multigenerational family to share thanksgiving break. We spent the week cooking, playing games, hiking and beaching. The house was perfect in size with space to gather and enough room to space out too. The kitchen was well equipt to handle large meals. Kids loved the garage full of air hockey, pool table and the video games. Views were amazing and we loved sunset walks and watching all the wildlife. Great vacation spot - we will treasure our memories here. "

"Northern Lights - Girls Trip
We had an amazing time at the Northern Lights Home. It was just as described and so comfortable. The kitchen was the greatest and had everything you could possibly need. It opened up to a "Great" room that was wonderful and we were all able to visit with everyone being comfortable. The property was clean and well-maintained. Dillon's Beach was literally 5 minutes away and very nice, albeit windy when we were there. Our group rated it as a "10"and would definitely stay there again. "

"A Awesome Getawsy
It was a beautiful home and perfect for our family. It was very clean. We loved the open kitchen. We just wished there was a cabinet that we could keep our food supplies in.
The king bed upstairs was uncomfortable., too soft for us and the wood frame made it difficult to get in.
Other than that we loved the house and open concept with the kitchen, dining room and living area. The dining room table is great for a large group.
The location was great. We’d love to rent again."

"Family time at Dillons
We enjoyed the large dining table for most of our meals and playing games together. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies for making family meals. The projector tv was fun to watch movies in the evening. The home has lots of different spaces to hang out. The driveway was a little tight for our larger vehicles. I would say the bathrooms need a little love but overall a clean home. The bedroom near the hot tub also had a very musty smell. We used the game room and the hot tub. We had a little trouble with hot tub but property mgmt took care of it right away. "

"Beautiful Home
Beautiful home with great location. It’s just a short drive down to the beach. Everything was very clean and the kitchen had plenty of room for several “cooks”. The dishwasher did leak but once we figured out where the water was coming from we put a bowl down to collect the water. When I advised the management company of the leak, they were already aware and a maintenance person scheduled to come out after our stay. It would have been nice if we were told about the leak so we weren’t cleaning up water on the floor and trying to figure out where it was coming from. Other than that, it was a great time and would stay here again. "

We had a great vacation in Dillon Beach. The location was perfect and the house is family-friendly which we appreciated. There are a few things that could use updating/fixing in the house - some of the screen doors kept getting stuck, bedroom door downstairs needs to be fixed, decks had quite a bit of bird poop that needs to be removed. But overall the house is great and views are spectacular. "

"A Perfect Thanksgiving Weekend at Northern Lights
We found the interior of Northern Lights to be even better than pictured. It's has a huge great room with abundant light, and plenty of space to spread out into the upstairs sitting area with keyboard, and the garage play room (although a bit chilly in November) where our kids enjoyed pool and air hockey and the proximity to the hot tub. The kitchen is equipped better than any home we have rented in years. Just bring your own spices, olive oil, etc and maybe your own sharp knives and you will be fine. Bedding is abundant and bathroom toiletries were supplied. It's too bad there isn't more outdoor space on which to gather (just the decks pictured which are okay for 2-4 people but not for more), but we were at the beach a lot so weren't too bothered by this. In the summer, it might be more of a disappointment. We didn't need to contact the mgt company but we had all the necessary information we needed, both prior to the rental and at the house. "

"Quilting Retreat
Six of us ladies rented Northern Lights for our quilting retreat. This house was pretty amazing for us to set up our 6 sewing machines and spread out. The house was super clean with everything in the kitchen you could possibly think of. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very nice and clean. We loved this house so much that we are planning to rent it again next year for our retreat. The only negative is the steep parking but we managed. "

"Nice little getaway home
The property management was very responsive to my emails and calls. It was an easy check in and out process. The home was very beautiful and updated. They had plenty of bedding and towels. The kitchen was stocked with utensils, plates, cups, pots and pans. The beach was a short distance away. A few of the girls walked there. But we ended up driving to the public side and spending a little time there. This is our second time at Dillion beach. It's a nice relaxing vacation spot and this house worked out great for us. "

The last time we were all together at Dillon Beach was 9 years ago and at that time we only one little one...this time we had four little ones with a set of twins on the way. The home was very spacious and there was enough room for everyone to find their nitch to kick back relax. There was one problem with a mattress and was immediately taken care of by management. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable! And the views are breathtaking! "

A group of friends and I stayed the weekend at Northern Lights and it was fantastic! Beautiful and cozy house, the game room is really fun for night time games. You can't beat waking up to the house surrounded by fog it is super dreamy! Would definitely recommend for a big group :)"

The stay was nice and the home was well equipped. It seemed smaller than it does in the photos, but is still very nice.
The ocean views from the balconies are only nice off the upstairs balcony. The other one is not very enjoyable.
The hot tub is a bit small, comfortably sitting 4 adults.
The beds were comfy.
They were very short on house towels.
This house claims to be max occupancy 12, but I would put it more at 10. Especially if there are no kids.
I liked the place, but next time will find something with a lower price or closer to the beach. This one was overpriced for the area."

"Great Entertainment Home!
We absolutely loved this house. Large open floor plan from the living, dining and kitchen. 4 bedrooms, all good sizes. Upstairs is an extra tv space for older kids. Downstairs is filled with smaller kids toys, this home is perfect for a family.
On top of all that the "game room" for the kids turned into an adult playground, with the hot tub right off the side, it was perfect for everyone.
The kitchen is loaded with anything you need. Overall, really great home."

The house is beautifully decorated. It’s clean and spacious. We love the open plan of the kitchen dining area and living room. Missed having views of the ocean. Disappointed in the game room we weren’t able to play pool because there were no pool balls. Most disturbing was the bedroom next to the hot tub was moldy. I did not enjoy sleeping in there because of the smell. The leather couch and one of the leather chairs in the living room were not very comfortable. "

"Northern Lights at Dillion Beach review
Pros: Place was clean, lots of space. Lots of toys for kids to play with. Kitchen well stocked with pots, pans, dishes etc. An assortment of CD's. Power went out on last day (natures fault).
Not so good: Steep driveway. Master Bed- wooden mattress platform extends past the mattress. Not senior friendly. Hot Tub showed an error message when we went to use it. Could not get it above 100 degrees on Saturday; on Sunday 95 degrees. Could not get the TV to work either upstairs or downstairs after following all the directions. Had 2 other people verifying that the procedure was followed. That being said, the living room had a smart TV so was able to log into Netflix and watch TV/Movies. One sliding door in living room did not lock. Would have been more concerned if kids were older and been able to open it. Had we stayed longer we would have contacted the rental company on problems: TV and hot tub; we did contact them about sliding door not being able to lock.
Had we had no issues with the TV and Hot Tub and the driveway not being so steep would have been more likely to recommend."

Had a great experience at Northern Lights. Location, scenery were wonderful and the house was just like the pictures. The common area is wonderful for relaxing with guests and the kitchen is well-equipped. The one thing I would note is that the garage/game space is a bit more "garage-y" than it looks in pictures ... might be nice spending time there with doors open if the weather was nice."

"Very unsatisfactory experience with Management regarding Parking
The property was beautiful and well kept. The kitchen was hard to work in due to it being unorganized and nothing was labeled. It also lacked basic cooking supplies such as oil and salt (the salt keeper was empty). I also felt very attacked by the phone calls about parking. We rented two houses and had to switch cars a few times from place to place to accommodate the limited parking. Due to there being NO SIGNAL, we had to walk inside the house to tell everyone to get their keys and shift cars. Two minutes later, I come out to a huge semipermanent No Parking sign on my window and a threatening phone call saying my car was being towed immediately. Whoever saw my car should have knocked on the door or at least given a warning, OR MORE THAN 120 SECONDS, for us to shift the cars around. I am a regular beach house renter and have NEVER experienced such inconsiderate, unapologetic management. This was also my wedding weekend and I had to deal with this on top of managing my vendors etc. I will NEVER rent with this company again. "

"Perfect getaway
This was the perfect getaway for a group of old friends. We had a blast - the house was well stocked, warm, and had a projector as well! The views were amazing and you could walk down to the beach if you're up for it. We did not use the hot tub. We did not need to get in touch with management during our stay, however they did email to check in which was really nice. We definitely want to come back!"

10 friends had a very enjoyable 2 night stay at Northern Lights. The location was perfect for a spooky halloween themed birthday. The only issue we had was that we couldn't get the hot tube to heat fully so we didn't get to enjoy it. But otherwise the weekend was perfect."

The house was very nice. However, the experience was ruined by the rental company. They were downright mean. After checking out, they charged me for an cleaning expense that I did not agree to, and would not speak with me about it. When I tried to talk by phone, they literally yelled and then hung up. I have rented through many times and NEVER experienced such rude people. NOTE- you are not renting from an individual, but from a rental agency."

Spent a weekend at this property with a group of friends/coworkers for a retreat, and what a treat it turned out to be. The warm, inviting, beautiful space added so much to our bonding activities and the overall atmosphere. The location was perfect for exploring nearby towns (Tomales, Bodega Bay) and seeing the lush countryside and gorgeous coastal views. The large, well-stocked kitchen made cooking together a breeze. Could not have been happier with our choice!"

Fantastic house. Plenty of extra blankets, pillows and towels. Fully stocked kitchen and everything labeled for easy use. Only complaint is that the person from the Mgmt. Co. that came out to look at the hot tub issue was VERY rude and almost ran us over in his car twice during our stay. There was a misunderstanding within our party about which car was being taken into town and one of our cars was left on the street for a few minutes (still running) and he came to the door and started berating us without even a greeting. VERY unprofessional!!!"

"Great house for groups
Beautiful house, looks just as pictured. The kitchen, main living room, and dining room are beautiful and accommodate large groups. Plenty of sleeping space for everyone, and great home projector system.
Two small items that the property owner should look at: the door for the downstairs 1/2 bathroom does not lock; and the wifi router should be replaced, it occasionally stopped working and required powering down/up to get it to function properly.
These are small items, though, and overall the house was great and I would recommend."

Great house to spend time with family & friends. Great layout, big kitchen, living/dining room area to hang out.
The kitchen is equipped with everything you can ever need when cooking; plates for kids, to serve, plates for adults, all kinds of cups, glasses, mugs...Love it!
The kids loved playing with all the toys, riding the tricycles and playing basketball.
The only downside for us: We stayed in the master bedroom and for the first time, we had a hard time sleeping comfortably. One side of the bed makes a lot of noise when you just move a little...and the bedroom door needs a little wd40! but the privacy upstairs was really nice."

There were a lot of rules to keep track of and we had to do a lot of cleaning before leaving - isn't that the point of a cleaning crew?

"A Fantastic family getaway
It had been a long and stressful day, but as soon as we opened the front door of this Fabulous home, all the stress disappeared. We love the open space the large windows. The decor and furnishings are right on point of what you would expect from a Beach house. We loved that it was kid friendly and there were toys. Our daughter and son-in-law were flying in with their small daughters and we were concerned that they might be bored without any toys. It was a great surprise and relief to have a room just for them. The home was very clean and the owners have thought of everything. We surprised my 80 year old mother with a cake to celebrate her Birthday and took family pictures on the beach. The home the destination made great memories for us and our family and we highly recommend Northern Lights to our friends. We only wish we could have stayed longer. Definitely want to come back again. Thank you!"

"Northern Lights
The home was in a great quiet neighborhood with a fantastic view. It has a great open area for family fun and a good kitchen. Plenty of dishes and cookware. Check in and check out was on point. A little further off the freeway than expected (30 minutes), but worth it for the view.
Cons would be that I can't see how it sleeps 12, exterior could use attention and the cleaning service should take better care of cleaning windows, cobwebs in windows and dust bunnies in bath fans. It wasn't "dirty", but I expect a bit more attention for the fee. Overall a good experience. A nice touch is the tankless hot water heater to provide plenty of hot water for everyone."

"Fantastic Location, Fabulous Weekend
We wanted a place by the beach to celebrate my wife's birthday and we found it with this incredible location. It was the perfect location for a large gathering with one large room and a giant bench style dining room table. The projector made the perfect backdrop to music. There was even some confusion about the booking, and the managers came out and cleared it all up in our favor with kindness and grace. We will definitely come back. "

"Perfect Family Getaway
We spent a wonderful week in Dillon Beach. This house is perched on a hilltop with amazing coastal views and equipped with everything to make it truly feel like a home away from home. I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a coastal retreat and looking forward to renting it again!"

"Lovely Location
We had a great stay at Northern Lights - the location is great and the house is beautiful. We were surprised, however, that the house did not have any of the basic staples including things like salt and pepper, olive oil, etc. Also, the house has multiple fire places but no wood was supplied or kindling. Given the price of the house, we were surprised that we had to run out and get all of these supplies. It would also be helpful if there was a more detailed collection of guidance on how things operate in the house, information on things in the area etc. The little details make a big difference. Overall, however, it is a great house and we had a great time!"

"Wonderful, Large, Ocean View Home
This very large and beautiful home sleeps 12 - Perfect for our family. Ocean views from inside the home were wonderful. I knew there were great views outside but the views inside were a great surprise. Wonderful hardwood throughout the home. The kitchen was supplied very well. We lacked for nothing. And cooking a meal like Thanksgiving we particularly loved the little second oven.
This is a wonderful home that we would certainly rent again. "

"Wonderful fun and serene stay with friends
Beautiful house on a very picturesque (when fog allows, it was 50/50 for us) seaside hillside with partial sea view. House comfortably slept 10 people in 4 bedrooms and leather couches were fine for 2 more. Enjoyed a hike and kayaking around Point Reyes/Tomales bay. Plenty of fresh oysters around, don't miss Rocker Oysterfeller 15min drive away! We also had fun in the house with dart, pooltable, Ps3 games and impromptu blackjack set up on the kitchen counter. Warmly recommend for friend and family getaways."

"Girls weekend
I really expected a lot more; the Wifi sucked, projector didn't work- I followed the instructions, the floors were disgustingly dirty- just from being there for a few hours my feet were BLACK! Not impressed at all!"

Was OK, except that property management wanted to enforce rules that we were never made aware of. This affected our plans, as they wanted us to move a vehicle during the evening after several bottles of wine were had with dinner. After explaining the safety factors around their request, we were forced to change our plans. "

"Another fantastic visit!
This was our first time at Northern Lights although we have stayed at Dillon Beach for New Year's week/end for about five years now. DBPM is great to work with with and I appreciate them helping us out with a few details and making our stay smooth and issue free.
The house itself is lovely and has the most well-stocked kitchen ever... never did we not find anything that we needed for our cooking needs. Quiet cul-de-sac, great views, comfy house... not sure we could as for more! :)"

"Disappointing getaway
We had a nice time with our friends, but the house was not what we'd imagined from the listing. We all woke up super early because some windows were uncovered while others had thin curtains that didn't block much light. The vertical blinds were almost impossible to open without breaking them. The game room was very musty smelling and cold. The projector can't be used during the day since the lack of curtains makes that room too bright to see the image. The heater needed to be reset, and the instructions were vague and told us to go to the basement, but not how to access it (walk around the house down a steep hill through knee-high weeds).
Before our stay, we contacted the management company a few times, but an email with three questions received an answer to only one, and a request for late checkout wasn't returned, but our card was charged. We received lots of information that wasn't applicable to the house, like instructions for a hot tub, which it didn't have, or instructions to check in at the office instead of going directly to the house. We also got a last-minute email telling us to bring our own towels, which was very late notice, surprising considering the rental price, and not necessary because the house had a dozen towels and washcloths. The amount of check-out cleaning required (sweeping, drying and putting away dishes) was also surprising for the price that we paid. We meant this to be a luxurious vacation, but it didn't end up feeling that way. "

"A great getaway with a great view!
Had a great visit to this nice Dillon Beach house. Nice open concept floor plan in the main entrance. Great places to hike nearby and the beach is just down the road. The view was killer as you get great sunset visibility and watch the fog roll in. All the amenities were everything we could ask for. The kids room with toys included was a big bonus!! Look forward to staying here again!"

Wonderful large & open living-dining-kitchen area, perfect for cooking together and visiting. Well equipped & spacious kitchen, great gas grill with reserve canister of gas. Comfortable beds. "SLOW DOWN
Our lives are so busy. This home was the perfect place to relax, take deep breaths and focus on family. There were 11 of us (7 adults and 4 kids) and we did not feel crowded. The big table enabled us to play cards at on end and board games at the other end."

"BEAUTIFUL house with lot of pros and some cons
Nothern Lights is without question a very beautiful property. It's tastefully decorated and it's located in a great spot. Dillon Beach offers some fantastic views. However, I would say the house sleeps 8 adults comfortably (!) - not 12! Unless you're traveling with kids and teens there's not enough privacy and there are not enough comfortable sleeping options. We didn't want anyone to stay in the cold garage, so I was happy we brought an air mattress, so we could sleep in the living room.
Anyhow we had a good time with good friends. The pool table, the projector and the huge dining table were great features and I would definitely recommend this house to smaller groups."

Great house and good location. I would just recommend two things. Leave extra garbage bags, and please, some saran wrap and tin foil. I have been renting houses for years, and this is the first house that did not provide those items. Thanks....."
