Excellent place to visit and stay"

"Great and Relaxing Family Vacation!
This was our first family beach vacation and it was perfect. We are a fam of 5, 3 are teenage boys and the space was perfect for us. Unit was as pictured. We bought groceries before we got to the island and we prepped our own meals in the kitchen to save $.
Kitchen had all utensils and dishes needed. Beach view was gorgeous and as pictured. Walk to the beach was short. Beach was clean, mostly families, not very crowded. Water was shallow pretty far out. Staff in the building were helpful. We had one little issue with a slow drain and they had it fixed within an hour. The area surrounding the condo was also cute and we were only a couple minutes from restaurants and souvenir shops. The pool was also nice and well taken care of. Highly recommend staying here and we hope to come back again! "

"The view is great, the accommodations were below average
We stayed at 5 different places on our vacation and the attention to detail was not evident in this rental! First off the code for the door emailed to us from didn’t work so we had to wait for a new code. There were no basic supplies provided, no shampoo, no bottled water, no sweetener, etc.... If you are looking for a place to stay on the island, there are a lot of options, we can’t recommend this particular place."

"Family get together along with wedding
We rented 4 condos here for family to enjoy before and after my son’s wedding. We had a wonderful time together. Every evening we would gather in our condo to cook dinner together and hang out. Perfect place to do that!

Dauphin island is one of our familys favorite spots and this is the best property we have stayed in there over the years. Everything was exactly as stated and pictured. Plenty of room for the four of us and comfortable beds. The unit had everything we needed for our stay. Great owners and great property managers. "

"For Better and Worse
This is the 3rd unit we have stayed in. The beds were amazingly comfortable. There was an abundance of towels. That's kind of where the better ends. Sadly, it's obvious this suite is owned by absentee landlords or else they would know the cleaning crew is ripping them off. The shower curtain was mildewed and dust and cobwebs everywhere. The bones are good. My fingers itched to update it with fresh paint and furniture/decor to make it more cheerful and inviting. But all in all I would stay here again."

This was my first time to Dauphin Island. And when I go back I hope to stay in exact same condo! I do feel this is more of an adult place to visits not a lot to do for the kids but so easy to hop on the Ferry and go to orange beach for the day! "

"Visiting After Sally
I have to preface this review by stating that our visit was right on the heels of hurricane Sally's visit to Dauphin Island. We had been scheduled since very early in the year to visit and although there were a few adjustments to our reservations, the nice folks at The Inn welcomed us with open arms. We've visited previously and I can honestly say that even with the unique situations the hurricane brought, our stay was great. The location and staff exceeded expectations and the accommodations were even better than described.
In all honesty, we were very reluctant to visit considering what had taken place but we were welcomed with open arms by property management and the island and her residents were gracious and welcoming as always. As expected, there were a few hiccups due to the impact of the storm but I have to say that I am extremely glad that we didn't cancel. We had a visit that I definitely will remember and one which will continue to bring us back.

Unit was well equipped and nicely decorated. King bed and 'king' tub were nice. Balcony had great view. These units open on street side, run 'long' and overlook pool area, beach and ocean. No stairways, elevators for all floors. Furniture was comfy and clean. Dinnerware and flatware were really nice. Lots of glasses and serving dishes. Washer and dryer make extended stays so much easier. Pools were well maintained and there were many lounges alongside. Walkway to beach was also well maintained.
A couple of points....bed was not made and floors not vacuumed. Sheets were in washer when we arrived in early evening, well beyond stated check in time. Management was very understanding and helpful the next morning (office not manned after hours, so we made bed and reported next morning). There are a huge number of towels, but minimal kitchen towels/dishcloths. Cleaning/paper products were minimal and provide for only one week - we stayed three. There are no organized building activities, no hot tub, no fitness area, and the outside grill area is unusable due to the shabby condition of grill. The unit's balcony grill was also completely unusable. The area rugs all show much wear. Screen to balcony was ripped out. Maintenance replaced it immediately after our call. "

Linens were still in the dryer. Dishes were not particularly clean. Needs some repairs and touch up, for example the water stains at the tops of the wall in LR and BR. Cigarette ashes in the electric grill on the patio. Overall a good stay and decent place although a bit pricey for the accommodations."

"Needs a good cleaning!
The condo needs a good cleaning, dusting, shower curtain liner, definitely needs new comforters, they were all dirty and reasonably so when they tell you to put linens in laundry but not comforters or mattress covers. Need new rugs throughout and found knife laying on top in drawer with something slimy on it. I left the place cleaner than I found it."

"Comfy Little Condo
My 2 daughters, husband and I stayed at the Inn #203 in early July. I chose this condo for the view, reasonable price and the ability to book only 4 nights since many condos during the month of July require a 7 night minimum, and because of the twin beds so my kids didn't have to share a bed.
We found the condo to be very well maintained and clean. The beds were very soft and comfortable. I especially LOVED the massive bath tub in the master bathroom! The photos don't show it very well but it's large, deep and oval shaped.
My only suggestion to the owners is to make Netflix/Hulu/Amazon available to renters. There is a DVD player with the TV in the living room that has those capabilities but it hasn't been set up properly and requires a wired internet connection, which isn't available. If it was set up for wifi instead, renters could take advantage of that on rainy nights. There is, however, a RedBox on the Island at the Circle K Shell station if you want to rent a movie.
I would also recommend updating the TV in the twin bedroom, putting a dvd player in the rooms and adding a Keurig to the kitchen.
Access to the pool and the beach is very convenient, though it's a pretty long walk to the beach so be prepared for that. This particular unit, as you can see from the photos, is close enough to the pool that people there can see into your balcony and if they're being loud, you can hear it in the living room but it wasn't loud enough to disturb us.
While we were at Dauphin Island, we spent a fair amount of time exploring the island. There are a lot of fun little gift shops and many interesting restaurants. Foxy's Waffle Bar was great and the smoothies were delicious. Miguel's has some really good Mexican food. We especially enjoyed Pirate's Bar and Grill, where I found possibly the best BBQ I've ever had! And their sweet tea is amazing.

"Standing Still
As we walked through the door our overall reaction was EWE!! It smelled musty and dusty! The furniture was old and tacky. The furniture on the balcony was rusted,stained and dirty.We we're afraid to sit on the couch or the chair and ottoman. We bought Lysol to try and get rid of the musty smell. The rugs were dirty. The second bedroom had a television from long ago as well as a VCR!We never sat in the living room because of the feeling of it being dirty.Our microwave didn't work but they did bring up a counter microwave for us.The sliding glass doors were filthy. The curtains were stained. We never felt comfortable in our room. It desperately needs to be cleaned and modernized."

We spent a week at Dauphin Inn at Dauphin Island in October. The weather was perfect and the fishing was good. Our unit (203) was superb. It was well stocked and clean. The kitchen light needed new bulbs and maintenance was there within a day to fix it. The grounds were well kept and the pools clean. Overall our experience was great. Hope to return again."

Unit 203 was wonderful. It was spacious enough for 4 adults and 2 children. It has an actual laundry room, which was great. The kitchen was large and well-supplied with cooking utensils. The condo is tastefully decorated. View of the ocean from the balcony is great! The management staff was friendly and helpful. And, of course, the island was a delight. From start to finish this was a great trip, and we've already booked our next stay!"

"Relaxing Vacay
The reservation staff were friendly. The reservation process was very easy and efficient. Unit (203) was beautifully decorated and fully furnished. The linens were high quality and felt wonderful. The beds and pillows were extra comfortable! The unit was very clean when we arrived. The condo was very private and quiet. On Thursday morning, we reported the kitchen light was out; however, it was not fixed by Friday evening so my husband drove to Mobile to purchase a few bulbs so we could see to pack our kitchen items before our Saturday morning departure. That was kind of upsetting. The property is very clean and well-maintained. The new boardwalk to the beach was nice. The heated pool was thankfully warm this year! "

The staff at the Inn was great and the island very quit and peaceful. The condo had a strong chemical smell as the rugs had been cleaned. We aired it out as much as possible. The second bedroom at an odor of a boy's locker room which wasn't pleasant. The restaurants we went to were not good but the seafood place, Skinner's, had fresh seafood that they would steam for you and that was great!

"Nice Quiet Get-A-Way
This was our first time on Dauphin Island. We loved the quietness and lack of commercialism. Dauphin Island is the perfect place to go to unplug and focus on relaxing and spending quality time with your family. The condo seemed to be rented all by families with young children, so it is quiet at night (no annoyingly loud tenants staying up late to party). Also, we were impressed with the fact that we did not hear anyone on either side of us nor above us: no voices through the walls or stomping of feet above us. It must be very well built and insulated.
There are three different condos all in a row. The Inn at Dauphin Island is the one furthest to the west. I think it must be older than the other two. It was a bit "used" but still clean. Also, even though the three condos were side-by-side, the beach directly behind The Inn was less crowded.
Many people were fishing right from the beach and were catching lots of fish. We enjoyed spotting the dolphins swimming parallel to the beach. The property management employees were friendly and very helpful.
I definitely would like to come back!"
