El Constante is the perfect location on North Padre Island! Easiest check in and great pricing. We had two 1-bedroom units this year and enjoyed walking directly onto the sand. Rooms are furnished with just about everything you will need! Thanks (Property Management), see you next year!
(Side note: Unit 126 needed more weather stripping in the front door as a storm blew in and water blew threw onto the floor. No big deal)"

"Not unhappy just information of issues
Had a great stay at the property. Had some issues with some of the lighting and overall general condition of the property. Like the lamps were missing light bulbs. The microwave light didn't work. Air to the master bedroom was limited while the air in living room was very abundant. Some of the tile has cracks as soon as you walk in the door. Lots of hollow spots under tile in living room. Other then the small stuff it definitely fit the need of somewhere to sleep and being close enough to the beach. "

I was very happy to stay in my rental. If you like driving onto the beach, this is for you. If you come prepared, you can enjoy driving on the beach within 20-30 seconds of leaving your unit, and you don’t even have to get back on the main road but for one small turn! "

Through the years this has always been a great place to stay on the beach. Clean beach and the condo was clean. However the air condition did not cool well. The mosquitos were VICIOUS DUE TO RAIN, but not around the pool. A BIG concern was the issue of a COYOTOE(s) roaming the beach at night. DANGEROUS for small/medium dogs. Had a scare and luckily a couple staying in condo facing the boardwalk yelled out to warn me as I was walking my tow dogs!"

"Quick trip to the coast
Always enjoy staying at El Constantine. The unit was a bit dated. The people above us sounding like they were tearing the place apart until 2 am each night. The insulation is non existent, otherwise I really enjoy staying here. We could have used a handicap rap for my husband to get our stuff to the beach. "

Had a great time except for neighbors above were up at 3 am running what sounded likes cattle up and down. Otherwise, unit was great. Very clean and we even got to settle in before the 4 pm check in early so thats always a plus. We usually rent a beachfront unit here but had last minute plans so booked a side unit. still great spot. literally 2 minute to the sand if that far. "

"Worst Bed EVER
We typically enjoy our stay (this was our 5th) regardless of the circumstances. Customer service on site & on the phone is always amazing! The biggest issue was the bed; it was like lying on a very sturdy cardboard box that was lumpy if that’s even possible. The only saving grace for this unit was that we found the sleeper sofa had a 3" memory foam mattress. As it was just the two of us, we took the queen mattress from the sofa & put it on the king size mattress in the bedroom. We didn't get to sit on the couch unless we wanted to move the mattress back each morning. (I found a mattress complaint in the reviews dated 11/08/2021.) The king size pillows had regular size pillowcases (not very sanitary). The dishwasher smelled like sewer, and I had to wash most of the pots and pans before use. The kitchen sink water never got hot (not sanitary); no problems in the tub or bathroom sink though. Upstairs neighbors were very loud (heavy steps). Will not return to this unit. "

"Fantastic time dispite the rain!
I LOVE El Constante! Staff friendly, clean and beautiful rooms. I go every summer with friends and we have an amazing time. First time staying during off season ready to go into the heated pool, but it rained. Only disappointment was (not the fault of staff just our luck) place was pretty empty but we had someone one above us with heavy steps.. other than that our stay was amazing. I’ll keep going back. Thank you Taylor for helping me with my reservations. You’re the Best!"

"Pleasant stay
Rental condo was clean and quiet, we went midweek so not a lot of people around. Unit had average furnishings, TV the usual Padre Island problem- never known in the years we have been going there can one easily get good reception or findi a channel easily. Bed needs a new mattress a pillow top would make for a better nights sleep. The air duct in the living room needs painted - rust problem. Overall unit was clean, convenient, and office staff accommodating. Other people’s pets were not a problem as far as noise as there wasn’t too many people staying there. Plan to return for another short break. "

We've never been to Mustang Island before and needed a beach getaway. The property did not disappoint. We did not have any internet or TV for our 3 day stay but we weren't in the room a lot anyway. They were working with the internet provider and gave us a discount on our room for the inconvenience. We loved staying here and we will be back. Pool was clean and very inviting."

"beach getaway
We had an issue with the AC the first night. We went to a local hotel for the night (management company said it would be midnight before a tech could be there and we didn't want to wait for the tech, then the repair time then the "cool down time" after an already long day - property offered no compensation). It worked well for the rest of the visit. Temperature is limited to 68 minimum. We purchased (and left for future occupants) a fan to help circulate air. It could have been a little cooler but the management company addressed what could have been a huge disappointment in a timely manner."

We know we took a chance co.ing during a tropical storm turned hurricane. Friday was great, Saturday the rain and wind came. We had a bad dripping leak on the ceiling. Maintece came and took pictures but never came back. We used all towels we had to soak up water. We couldn't even get extra towels because the office closed early. Saturday night the power went out. I was notified that my mom had a heart attack, so we left a day early. I haven't been offered a refund for our inconvenience. Not very good customer service but under the circumstances I understand, but feel we were left behind during a hurricane. "

"Construction Caos & Disgusting Scent
I walked through the door to offensive odors. Not clean-smelled like the floor was mopped w/a wet dog. We came in very late and were rudely awoken by multiple loud footsteps and banging above. Construction above and complained but no action not even a discount offered.Needless to say it was not the “Escape” we were looking forward to. We have booked At El C for the past several years! Worst experience! But- grandkids live the pool! Dog hairs everywhere "

The location was great, we could walk the seawall or go directly to the beach. The pool was well heated and loved the provided towels that you could swap out when damp. The property was extremely clean and the furniture in good shape. The kitchen had great dishes, pans, utensils for cooking."

We had a good stay. We have been staying at El Constante for over 20 years. The only negatives I have was I'd wished there was an actual broom in the unit to sweep out sand. And one washing mechine didnt work, however office gave us back our money and used a different one. The TV was hard to use, too many remotes with too many buttons to get it activated. Positives include; no door key to keep up with. Security cameras everywhere, pool maintenance seemed to be better. And I liked looking at the new mint green hardy board on the back complex. "

"Fun in Corpus
The office staff was very helpful and friendly with all our questions. Inside the condo, there still was dirt and sand behind the chairs and it was hard to sweep ourselves since the broom was old and worn down. The bathroom door had peeling paint. There were only 2 kitchen towels and they were not that good. On the outside, we could never sit on the patio because the chairs had something sticky on them that we couldn't get off. However, it was great to have 2 TVs! No arguing over what to watch after dark. And the living room had lots of room and the furniture was comfy. The condo was so relaxing and nicely decorated and just a short walk to the beach! Plus, there was plenty storage space. The pool was also awesome. Plus, there are security cameras that made a single mom traveling with kids feel better. Overall, it was a very positive experience. "

"The total package
The unit was clean and well stocked when we arrived. The location could not be more convenient. No beach view but short walk to the beach or drive if you'd like because the road is right there. Super friendly staff made some great restaurant recommendations. The pool is sparkling and refreshing and the other guests were friendly and respectful of each other (i.e., not rowdy)."

"weekend getaway
We have stayed at El Constante many time and have always had a great experience. The staff was great. I booked my getaway during hurricane Harvey and they worked with me to reschedule my weekend when it was safe. I love the location and will continue to stay at El Constante. However, the couch bed and bed in the bedroom was AWFUL! The couch and bed should be replaced. Both were hard as a rock and we could hardly move in the morning. They did offer to move me to another property but we were not staying much longer and didn't want to move all of our stuff. They also gave us a blow up mattress but it was very small so we couldn't use it. Overall we had a good time but we were very unhappy with the bed's. I do recommend this property but the bed's need to be replaced or a bed topper should be provided. Also both sets of sheets had major stains on them. Great staff though and great location. Very excited to see the improvements to the property and can't wait to stay in an upgraded one next year! "

"Find something else - this is a resort of last resort
Note: if you're renting this from (Property Management) they don't tell you but you check in at the office of El Constante - not Padre's main office up the street.
I'll start with good: It's on the beach, the unit looks out (first at a parking lot) but primarily at the dunes which is nice, they allow dogs. The king size bed is large. The fridge was cold, as was the ac. The microwave worked. There is a car rinse right as you pull into the apartments which is a good feature. The pool was clear. Now, the bad. It reeks of mildew - under the sink you can see where they've replaced the cabinet bottom with plywood but apparently, they didn't fix the actual leak. The bedding was dirty - there was hair throughout the king-sized bed. I saw some small bugs (tiny, almost transparent, squished when touched) but didn't see any evidence that they were bed bugs, so hopefully they were something else (fingers crossed). The hide-a-bed was absolutely FILTHY, so good thing the other bed was a king b/c my whole family of 4 slept in it the whole time. However, that mattress is so bad my 3yr old was complaining about her back! Both my wife and I were basically crippled for the first few hours of the day after sleeping on the king. The bedroom door won't close without slamming it (needs planed), there’s filth in all the unit's corners and tons of crud under the bed. The mismatched blue couch and chair are old but serviceable - but after looking at the condition of the hide-a-bed sitting in them gave me the crawls.
Overall, this unit would have been fine if it weren’t so gross. We weren't paying top dollar and we were at the beach to go to the beach, not to hang out in a room. That said, the bugs, filth and smell of this unit was unacceptable and made my vacation VERY stressful. The fact that (Property Management) doesn't tell you where to check in is extremely unprofessional. "

Rental and facility itself leaves much to be desired but it is right in the beach and we were able to bring our our pup so all in all we were happy. After all we were there for the beach. It would be nice if office might have a few toiletries and little things for purchase. "
