"Beach Rental Basic but Clean
It was clean, and served its purpose. They had it cool with serene music when we checked in- that was nice. Good location about a block from the beach (we didn’t make the walk but seemed easy. Access to a decent pool.
Negatives-the beds were not comfortable unless you are accustomed to sleeping on a rock. It could use a deep cleaning. "

"Quick Getaway
Our stay was perfect, it was exactly as described, it was clean, and maintained, it looked just like the pictures. There was six of us and the open layout made us feel like it was perfect and enough room, not crowded, we all slept comfortable, all beds were comfy. The kitchen was nice to have we had everything we needed, the only issue was the fridge didn’t seem to stay cold if you were opening it several times which we did, but not that big of an issue. We loved the pool and used it every day, surprisingly it wasn’t to crowded so that was great! The location was also a plus not to far from the beach and close to stores and food. Communication was also a plus with management. I’m ready to book again soon. We were sad it came to an end. Till next time thank you Padre Escapes! "

Only negatives - the property description said there were gas grills on site and there were no.
The main pool was not clean. Water was very cloudy the entire time we were there. "

No surprises...which is a good thing. Clean, and as pictures indicated. Not a lot of extras; minimal kitchen supplies. And don't plan on sleeping on the couch. Not comfortable at all, but the bed was fine."

"Annual family beach trip
Great stay at the village by the beach. This was our 6th stay at this complex and first in this unit. We didn’t have internet when we arrived so Padre escapes sent out spectrum the next day to correct it. Several light bulbs were out in the bathroom making it difficult to see. Maintenance had to come in to replace since they were “special bulbs”. Then we got notified pest control would need access to the unit to do a routine spray. We declined to let them in while we were in the unit since we already had a spectrum guy and a maintenance guy in our unit during our 3 night stay. Great stay just got a little aggravated with all the unexpected visitors. "

"Disappointing Experience That Customer Service Didn’t Rectify
We’ve stayed at Village by the Beach several times and this is the first time that Padre Escapes let us down. The furniture (blue couch and yellow accent chairs) were FILTHY We draped spare sheets on them so we could sit without feeling grossed out. I mentioned this to my friend who stayed there in June and she said it was just as gross then (our stay was in Aug). The top bunk was stripped but not made. When I mentioned this to customer service they said they don’t make top bunks, they just leave clean linens for you to do it yourself. At some point they used to make the top bunks because this is the first time we’ve run into this, Have you ever tried to make a top bunk? It’s not easy. They could at least provide a step stool if they won’t make the bed for you. Lastly, we were without internet our entire stay. Padre Escapes sent someone out who was unable to fix it, so she had to call the internet company. Internet company couldn’t make it out before we left. This was a working weekend for us. We took a beach trip last minute so our kids could enjoy the beach before school, but both my husband and I had work to do, which we couldn’t because there was no internet. In addition, we’d looked forward to all cuddling on the couch (filthy) in the evening and streaming our favorite family show (no internet) after a long day at the beach and pool. So let’s break it down: yucky furniture - we pay a hefty cleaning fee so is it not reasonable to issue us a partial refund? The top bunk issue - ****** new policy. Internet issue - not Padre Escape’s fault but certainly not ours either. So I politely asked that they consider issuing us a partial refund or a credit due to the dirty furniture and lack of internet. The rep said she would escalate it to a manager and asked that we allow “some time” to get back to me. That was via a text exchange on 8/13. On 9/8 I sent a follow up text asking for a statu"

"Clean, Comfortable, Enjoyable
The vacation rental was well appointed, we only needed to bring our groceries and personal items. There is a clean bed promise that is filled better than any other vacation rental our family has stayed. We were only a family of 3, but this rental could more than comfortably accommodate 6 without feeling crowded. There are 2 pool areas on the property and our 7 year old enjoyed playing at both and meeting other vacationing children. The property as a whole was very clean, including all the common areas, and all guests on the property were respectful of other’s space and respected quiet time in the evening. Overall, our stay was wonderful, we wish we could have stayed longer, but will definitely book again if we are down in Corpus. "

"We are DONE with Padre Eascapes!
Our unit needed a moderate amount of cleaning, but the bed was comfortable and the couch was cleaned. Yellow, swivel chairs were cute and comfortable, but need to be seriously cleaned! We put blankets over them when they were used. The table seated only 4 adults, so we asked for and received two folding chairs. We also asked for several items we never received, such as area rug, shower curtain hooks, serving bowls and serving spoons. We purchased our own items including throw rugs. We left the rugs, but took the kitchen items home with us. We also purchased garbage disposal cleaner, washing machine cleaner and dishwasher cleaners. We left the remaining cleaners, as well. Clean windows and ceilings fans would have helped to improve lighting in the condo. The colors and decor theme were lovely. We tried to book for next year, but Padre Escapes keeps changing their policies. Now we have to book for a minimum of 60 days to reserve a year ahead of time. We decided to switch rental companies, but we’re staying with Village by the Beach. We love the pool area and proximity to the beach. After several years of jumping through hoops and playing their impossible games, Padre Escapes is not our recommended rental company on the island. �� "

"Just okay... location was grear
Location is GREAT...close to beach (short drive). I liked that it had 2 reserved arking spots but parking lot was small and crowded. Pool was nice but often crowded with language and loud music that was not family-friendly. Townhouse was cozy but furniture was well-used and a little dirty. I liked that there is security patrolling the property regularly."

"Family Beach Trip

"Great Condo!
Absolutely worth every penny! This was a great condo, not far from the beach (a 5 minute walk or go grab a parking permit and you’re there within seconds. The condo was very clean and tidy. Came with a select amount of necessities (trash bags, detergent, soap etc.) to get by for our stay. The management company was very professional and helped in all ways needed! I would recommend this for another stay and I’ll definitely be going back."

"Horrible experience
For almost $400 a night, I expect an on time check in, not to have to make my own beds, a working refrigerator and better than plastic chairs. I was told that they guarantee a 4pm ck in and at 4pm we still hadn’t received a text with the access code. They said it had to be inspected before we could get the code. So we had to wait for someone to come inspect it. My kids run to the bunk beds and the top on has a note, that they don’t make up the top beds, they knew from our reservation that we had kids. The refrigerator didn’t cool and they said that we could wait for a repair man to come. I’ve stayed at village by the sea 5 times and most places have nice chairs, a table and towel hangers on the front porch, this place had 2 plastic chairs. Bed in Master was hard and lumpy"

"Great accommodations for a family
We had an excellent time! We were very impressed with the décor and amenities supplied. The place was well configured for a small family and nicely appointed for a beach feel. Only suggestions/improvements would be they could use a new hose out front as the one there was unusable with kinks and cracks (for washing feet to try and not track sand inside). Also would have been nice to have some hooks for swimtrunks and towels as seen on other places wither outside or also in bathroom). No issues though, we had a wonderful time and hope to return soon. "

This is a cute place and pretty well stocked. My only complaint is that the couch and chairs desperately need a cleaning. I would not stay at this specific unit again because of it but this is our second time staying here and we love it. We love the kiddie pool and playground. Easy access to the beach. Close to shopping and food. "

"June vacation
We really enjoyed our stay at Village by the Beach in Corpus Christie/ Padre Island. Our daughter lives in Corpus so we were able to enjoy time with her while being there. The condo is very nicely decorated. The furniture needs to be cleaned very badly. It is showing its wear. There was plenty of cooking utensils. The condo could use some Rubbermaid to store leftovers. It could also use more towels, washcloths and dish towels. We did have someone steal our beach wagon the last night so I guess I would recommend keeping your belongings inside even if items are sandy. All in all we would stay again at this complex. We had a very easy check in and check out process. The two pools were great also! "

"Clean, cute and comfortable
We didn’t spend much downtime here, mostly just slept and got ready every day. The unit was easy to access, clean, and the master bed comfortable enough. The pool was lovely with a convenient outdoor shower. You’ll want to drive to the beach, as you’ll need supplies to transport anyway. Only recommendations are to add a mat just inside the front door and replace the living room tv remote. (It was largely unresponsive and we couldn’t turn down the volume.) However, I would stay here again. "

Beautiful and clean condo. Short walk to the beach, but if you are packing anything, probably best to drive. Pool was refreshing after a long day at the beach. Washer and dryer was so nice to wash your beach towels. The only negative was we could only get one channel in the living room and no channels in the bedroom. We called when we got there, but maintenance never came. "

"Perfect little getaway
Perfect place to stay for my small family. We went down for the weekend for Sandfest and it was so nice. We were so close to whitecap beach as well. The only con I have is the pool area. I wish more areas were shaded. I have a 1 year old so we didn't spend a lot of time out in the pool because of lack of shade. the kiddie pool however was wonderful! "

"Spring Break with 6 Women
The property was good. It was different than what I expected from the pictures and online presence. Less magnificent; but still fine. There were a few things missing in the property that should have been there but they brought them. The communication with the office folks was less than strong - there was a disconnect and they were not overly friendly or flexible with service. The check out extension was hard to get (one hour) and did not get noted with the cleaning crew so they were sitting there waiting for us to exit and get our car out of the parking lot. This was after I had been told that there was no one coming that day to replace us and the parking lot for the property there was empty. Not relaxing or anticipated. And we were not leaving town for several hours that day since we were only there for a short trip to the beach for fun and sun. "

We enjoyed our stay so much we are already planning a return trip. The condo was super clean with plenty of space for the 5 of us. Check-in/checkout was a breeze. Staff was very friendly. I especially liked the convenience of the letters entry, one less thing to keep up with. It was a short walk to the beach. The proximity for an early morning stroll or evening walk was so convenient. Also enjoyed the saltwater pool. Even though it seemed as the place was fully occupied it never felt crowded or loud. We never even heard our neighbors! Would highly recommend. "

The apartment was very nice. The only knock is the view out one of the few windows in the place is of the parking lot. You can't see the pool from the location we stayed in, but it was a very close walk. Again, place was clean and nice and up-to-date."

We wanted something larger than a hotel room for the three of us and this was perfect. Good location, all the room we needed and very clean! Only complaints were that after the first shower the tub didn't drain well and construction noise behind the condo was noisy a bit too early in the morning. Overall our stay was great!"

Everything was great! From check-in, to keyless entry, to a nice basket of welcoming supplies, everything was there for us to have a good time. Only thing that was a downside, was the cable connection was intermittent on the TV, but who goes to the beach to watch TV. Would definitely stay here again. "
