"Overall a good stay
Pros: unit was clean, convenient location, quiet, end unit, beautiful views of lake and forest, kitchen well equipped.
Cons: upstairs master bed was really firm and not comfortable to sleep on, downstairs bedroom has a trundle bed but it really would have been nice if there were two twin beds. Lots of scuff marks on walls, it could use a freshening up."

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week at the end of August. We were very pleased with the location, accessibility, and how easy it was to stay away from other guests. The only issue we had was with the water heater, and after a call to First Accomodations, it was quickly resolved. I very much recommend staying here!"

We really enjoyed our week at the condo. Very comfortable for our family of three. The management company was extremely responsive and professional at every point, from booking through the end of our stay. There was a problem with the tennis court access one evening, and the management company responded right away with a solution. "

"A perfect place to get away from it all
Carnelian Bay is a beautiful place, more low key than Tahoe City. The townhomes are situated in clusters with lots of open space between the buildings. We had a view of the lake from our balcony along with wooded areas. Because of COVID-19 we did not visit any restaurants or shopping areas. We did walk along the beach and take a couple of short drives. The townhouse was exactly as described and very comfortabe."

"Comfortable and Cozy
We stayed in this condo for a full week in late July, just the two of us. The condo was very clean and the kitchen is really fully accomodated with everything you possibly need for simple cooking, even loads of seasonings!
It was nice having the washer and dryer. The down side was that the place could really use some updates, especially in the bathrooms and new paint on the walls to spruce it up. Other than that, a very enjoyable stay."

"Great End Unit Condo
This place has everything needed to have a wonderful stay at Lake Tahoe. The view of the lake of the back patio is nice and since it's an end unit, there is a nice view up into the trees. The condo is comfortable with good furniture and a nice setup for a small family. Great clubhouse with pool, hot tubs, and games. Just a short distance to the lake and other fun activities. We'd stay again in the future. "

"Had a wonderful time at Carnelian Bay!
We really enjoyed our stay. Very private and quiet end unit condo was up against the forest with birds, squirrels and chipmunks visiting daily. Our 7 year old enjoyed the pool and recreation room. Everything exceeded our expectations and it sure beats staying in a hotel.
The Post Office Café was great for breakfast. The Treetop Adventure Park was an absolute blast for all of us, including the 7 year old. She also caught her first two fish, a 17" and 15" trout at the South Lake Tahoe fish farm.
I highly recommend this beautiful place. The owner and manager were great."

"Reasonable Stay
To be honest, I was expecting a little more from the place. I must’ve misread the ad. I was expecting twin queen beds. There was one queen bed in the loft and a single bed in the bedroom. The setting in North Lake was great. Everything else was just ok. I probably wouldn’t stay here again."

We stayed at the unit for 4 nights and it was great. Nice gas fire place, clean, comfortable unit, good beds and the kitchen was very well equipped. Had more pots, pans and accessories than most. Gas BBQ was high quality and worked great. Loved the view of Lake Tahoe. "

"Tranquil retreat
Our family had a lovely getaway at this property. Our corner unit was situated right next to the forest and we had partial views of Lake Tahoe, it was beautiful. "Nice location quiet property
We had two nights here to explore Lake Tahoe. We had a great time. The deck is small for BBQ ing - not enough space for four to eat there, so we had to eat inside. The pool was a short walk away and made a nice place to relax. We rented a pedal boat on the lake. "

"North Tahoe Condo
Enjoyed the location of the condo. No road noise, but still accessible to local infrastructure support, ie restaurants, activities, etc. Bed linen could be replaced, upstairs bathroom sink stopped had to be opened with a knife, and the downstairs bathroom fan did not work. The dryer seemed to be venting into the room. Condo was clean and the kitchen was very adequate. Condo was an end unit, and had a great view of Lake Tahoe from the deck. Good view out other windows to the pine forest."

"Great place to stay for a Ski vacation
Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) stayed here for a ski trip. There was plenty of room for everyone. The property was clean and well maintained, and the location is perfect for going to Squaw/Alpine, Northstar, or a number of other local resorts. The only negative is that the heater is somewhat loud when it turns on. "

"Perfect for a couple or small family
I rented this place for a week to work on my dissertation. It was the perfect place for me. Lots of natural light with views into the surrounding woods. It was cozy, clean, and quiet. Everything I needed was there. The master bed wasn't very comfortable but other than that everything met to my satisfaction. I especially loved the gas fireplace and the vaulted ceiling. My only regret was not being there with my husband to enjoy the place and surrounding area with me. Thank you for a wonderful stay. "

"Great place for a relaxing escape
The cabin is very cosy and the pictures reflect it well.
It was very clean. You could it had just been cleaned when we got there.
The kitchen is well equipped and the bed has a hard but confirmable mattress.
Extra pillows and blankets were available and the towels were good.
The location is very quiet and close to the lake. Other attractions are not far away but you definitely need a car.
I was planning to have some peaceful and quiet time and a place to rest. This cabin was perfect dor this purpose."

The place is very nice and has everything you need in the kitchen and bathrooms (plus grill, wifi and cable). The location is a bit isolated but close enough to some of the main towns on the north side of lake Tahoe. We are already planning to go back next year."

Stayed for a week in mixed weather in August. Management was professional and responsive to some minor maintenance issues. The rec center with hot tubs, pool tables and games came in handy for rainy days. Waterman's landing just down the street is a great place to rent paddleboards. "

We thoroughly enjoy our Tahoe vacation each year, and we LOVE CW155! It is cool and clean and quiet. We have been renting CW155 for the first week in July, for the past 7 years. It is in walking distance to the pool, beach, mini golf, hiking, pizza, Garwoods, OPO! It is an easy drive one way to Kings Beach for the fireworks on 7/3, and the other way to Tahoe City for rafting on the Truckee! A wonderful vacation every time!!!"

"Loved the Property - The Management Company needs to fire a guy
The property was very well kept and had all sorts of little amenities that made it a great stay at a really great price. There is a peaceful view of the lake through the trees on the porch.
It actually reminded me of a friend's Parents' home in VT where we'd go to cross country ski. It made me feel like I was at home.
We were on our honeymoon. When we arrived there was a voucher on the counter for us for a nice restaurant given to us by the company my Husband works for.
When I signed up for the property I did it on a holiday weekend and when reading the contract had questions. I assumed they wouldn't be open and didn't call. (Then I forgot about it.) When I received a reminder call from the company, the guy was about the most rude person I have ever talked to. (I don't believe this guy works on site. I believe he works for wherever the management company is.) He was condescending and bitchy. I was in the wrong but he could have started, continued, and ended the conversation in a much more professional manner than he did.
Additionally, he wanted to charge the company my Husband works for 25 dollars to put a piece of paper (the restaurant voucher) into our rental unit. Thank goodness the person at the company pushed back on the guy. He made a deal that if they drew it up and send it over, that someone would only have to put it into the unit. (That was completely unethical on the management's part. I hope that is not common practice. I would also hope it was this individual's own genius idea.)
I really want to report the person but I didn't get his name. It upsets me that a significant trip of my life was tainted by such a scumbag.
As a side note: anyone we dealt with at the actual location were absolutely fine to deal with. We only really ever saw one person that gave us our parking tag. He was quite pleasant."

"Mid-September at Carnelian Woods
We really loved the peace and quiet of this place. The fireplace in our unit (#155) was a plus. You could see Lake Tahoe in the distance in a very picturesque way. We only regretted that the pool closes mid-September, so we couldn't use it the last day. Otherwise, we would definitely recommend our unit."

The townhouse was very clean, and it had a nice view of the trees. The only two suggestions I can make is to update the Living room furniture. The tv was very small also. Lastly, the bedroom downstairs had a twin size bed. It really should be at least
a double bed. "

"Enjoyable Townhouse
I would recommend #CW155 in Carnelian Bay, CA. Our family enjoyed a relaxing snowy memorial weekend there. Our daughter played in the snow and made a snowman. The townhouse was clean and well maintained. Carnelian Bay is a beautiful location. Garwoods is less than 1/3rd of a mile away. Kings Beach is a short 10 minute drive. The only issues we had were the gas fireplace did not work and the townhouse did not provide a BBQ."

The property was clean, well-equipped and very well-maintained. The staff was very helpful & polite. Trent was very helpful - he even emailed us some good eating places around Carnelian Bay, which was very helpful. The view of the lake though was really small, but that was expected. Otherwise, the property is very nicely located to almost everything one can do in & around Carnelian Bay. Very good overall experience!"

We have stayed in several of the units and I must say that Unit 155 is by far the nicest. It has very nice, clean and plush carpets in the bedrooms, living and dining room and up the stairs. The mattress in the master bedroom was on the stiff side, but I slept just fine on it. The onsight management has some issues and could use some customer service training but the person I talked to on the phone was great. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars for condition of property was that there were some scuff marks on the walls in the entry and downstairs bedroom."

"Quiet location
This unit has a very private and quiet location. It also has a nice partial view of the lake from the balcony. I would stay here again. It's an older unit and does show some wear, but it was clean and contained everything we needed for a comfortable stay."

The property was fine; a couple of complaints: 1) checking out by 10AM is too early, 11AM is more reasonable (it is a 'vacation' after all); 2) the condo management has a long list of cleaning things you are supposed to do before you checkout, which makes me wonder why they even have cleaning staff. "

"Lake Tahoe Stay
The accommodation had obviously been cleaned some time ago as we walked into several cobwebs across the stairs and in the hallways.
The local advice booklet that was in the house was more concerned with house rules than local information.
The facilities in the house were very good. Everything worked well.
The house location was out of the way in the woods away from the roads. Being closer to the Lake would have been nice but having a partial Lake View was OK.
My main issue with the place was the spiders, cobwebs all over the place. My wife even had a fairly large spider drop onto her when she was sleeping. Large enough to wake her up.
As we were told that check in was not until 4pm as the house was being cleaned I expected more. If the house was cleaned properly then it would be good value.

"Terrific Condo in Quiet Neighborhood
We enjoyed the condo very much since it was in just the right area, close to Tahoe City and Kings Beach, but tucked away on the side of the mountain with view of the lake and pines. The only reason I did'nt give a perfect score is a couple spots on the carpet."

The kids were a little sad when we left the Tennis and Racket-Ball Club we had been staying at for 7 days, before arriving at Carnelian Bay. But, after driving into Carnelian Bay and walking into our Condo Unit, the boys literally jumped for joy!
