"In need of updates
Palm Island itself is a gem!!! We have been to this resort about a dozen times. The staff is responsive and willing to help. However this unit is something else. The location made up for the issues we had. The villa is very cluttered, outdated and didn't feel very clean. Kitchen poorly stocked making it difficult to cook. The ocean front was amazing and made up for the villa. Hopefully the owner of this property takes things seriously as this could be an amazing villa in the future. The resort was helpful and took our concerns serious. "

"Incredible Island Getaway!
The condo we stayed in had the perfect view of the gulf. We were just steps away from the beach and a short walk to the pool, tennis courts and park. The employees of Palm Island were friendly and extremely helpful. We enjoyed ice cream visits to Coconuts and dinner carry out from Rum Bay. Our Condo unit was very old and definitely needs updating, especially in the kitchen and bathrooms but the island is amazing. We would definitely go back. "

"My worst experience at Palm Island!
I’ve been visiting your resort for a few years now. It’s my favorite spot. I took my wedding pictures there 2 years ago. This time around my stay wasn’t as great. The villa was dirty and the AC not working correctly. The gulf kart i rented broke on sunday at 6 and they wouldn’t help me because i got to them at 6:03. They closed at 6. And lastly the restaurant lost my carry out order after waiting for 1 hour. Overall, alot of things went wrong and was a stressful vacation to be honest."

"Always great to be here
Our unit had the best view and easy access to the walkway beach ramp; also the golf carts could not drive in the back so we had uninterrupted peace. The unit does need some repairs but all appliances were in working order. Though the furniture was a bit crowded it was great having three couches for the six of us to enjoy time together. Wish there was free WIFI but we brought our Apple TV and used the phone hotspot. "

"Amazing Resort, far from amazing property
is our favorite quiet place every year, for the last 19 years. This unit was by far the worst unit we have had in those 19 years. It is run down, crowded, and has an odor to it.
Thankfully we know how great Palm Island is, and we will absolutely come back but we will be sure to not rent this unit again. "

"Love PI! Not so much the unit.....
We love and the private beaches. That’s why we’ve been coming back for 25 years. That being said, we stayed in quite a few different units over the years. This recent unit, 2124, was lacking and did not meet Palm Island standards. There was way too much furniture in the unit... Reminded us of a storage unit or a museum. The large, heavy hemp rugs in each room were ridiculous and hurt our feet to walk on them. I don’t know how anyone can clean them, so I can’t imagine what’s in those rugs. Not only that, they were put on top of the carpeting and sometimes they were other rugs on top of them! The upstairs shower had no water until maintenance came. The master bathroom paint was peeling everywhere so there were paint chips coming off on the rugs, on our feet, etc. And finally, Heather needs to do a better job with her cleaning checklist as we found old coffee in the coffee maker. On the positive side, we really did enjoy the porch furniture and the porch view. Please understand that I usually give rave reviews for the units at Palm Island, but this one needs a serious overhaul. Please talk to the owners and have them make the appropriate adjustments to meet Palm Island’s high standard of quality. Even though we did not appreciate our unit, we still love Palm Island and will be back for many years to come."

"Beach was great as always, fun stay, not a great check in
We had a lovely stay as always with great weather and wonderful memories made at the beach and fun golf cart rides with our kids. We had a major issue at check in. We arrived for check in early, and called that morning to let the resort know but instead of allowing us to check in early or even at the normal 3pm time, it was over an hour later before giving us the keys. It was very hot and humid and unacceptable after an 18 hour car ride from Maryland with two babies. Turns out the owner was there and checked out late. That is not appropriate when guests are coming, especially considering we have booked months ago and called to let the resort know our arrival time. Carpets were filthy and there was a huge wet stain next to the master bed. There were no blinds or curtains in the windows for the loft bedroom. We called the hotel immediately and they put up a clear shower curtain! This did not work. We have enjoyed making this an annual tradition for our beach vacations but these issues are making us reconsider using an alternative location for next year. "

Vacationing with good friends with an unobstructed view of the ocean, long walks on the beach and a friendly, helpful and professional staff made this vacation wonderful. That being said, the unit was ready for a complete over-haul, from beds to linens, to furnishing, to flooring and bathrooms. It was very outdated and shabby. Luckily, we didn't spend much time inside."

Overall we were very pleased with our experience. The solitude & relaxed atmosphere was exactly as described and needed. We checked in late so our only interaction was with the bellstaff, which were helpful. The pool was a bit further than expected, not exactly in the middle of a pod, but the property was clean and satisfactory. We enjoyed the island very much."

"November Grils Getaway
I try and get to Palm Island once or twice a year. I’ve stayed in many different units. This one was okay. It’s getting tired and could use some freshening up. The showers warm, but never hot. As always, the unit was very clean and the staff - AMAZING"

"Love this island and the resort!
Super fun, driving golf cart around on this island! Tons of seashells and the sand bar on the beach is a must go! Highly recommend for family.
The only down side is that there are tons of mosquitoes. We got chewed up pretty bad. But aside from that, a great place to vacay!"

The villa is set back some from the beach but easy walking to the nearest pool. The unit was clean but did need some light bulb maintenance which we reported at checkout. Some things could be updated but everything was comfortable and great for us."

The property and beach were beautiful. The office staff, bellmen, and restaurant staff were fabulous!
The specific unit needed to be updated, especially for the rate we paid. Golf carts need to be updated. We went through five of them before we found one that would charge correctly or stay charged. Three of those were solar as well."

"Vacation in March
Everything was great except our 3 bedroom, 3 bath beach villa, unit 2124C. 1. The arms of the furniture were very soiled and stained, you almost did not want to sit in them. 2. The blinds on most of the windows would not close. 3. Carpet had stains every where and just looked dirty. 4. Wash machine made so much noise, you had to close the door to the wash room, just to talk in the unit. 5. The fire alarm by the lower guest bedroom went off twice, then after a minute or two it quit. 6. After taking two showers, we were out of hot water, not good when you have 6 people trying to get ready. 7. Slider screen was torn on upstairs to the walkout balcony. Did not want to leave the slider open at night, Overall, this unit is probably original and needs a total remodel job!!!! Other than the unit we stayed in, we would recommend the resort. "

We stayed back in the 90s several times. Unfortunately the unit we stayed in this time looked like it had not been updated since the 90s.
THe blinds on the second level were broken and parts were left in the closet. If you wanted to sleep past sunrise that was out.
The screen on the patio was held in place by masking tape, that didn't last long. Fortunately there were not any mosquitoes yet.
The kitchen knives were terrible could barely cut anything. The air conditioning is probably broken we couldn't get it to go below 76. Fortunately it was fairly nice out. I am sure it will have to be fixed before the hot weather arrives.
We love the venue, our kids grew up there and we went with them and their kids this time. At 500 a nite we did expect a cleaner and more functional condo.
Overall you cant beat the beach and exploring the island and the weather was beautiful.

Great service, lovely island, clean condo. Furniture okay, upset no phone told maintenance no new phone, microwave broken, place smelled of mildew, need to clean rugs more or get rid of them, need to air out unit when not in use, beds very uncomfortable, got bit up in my bed and very sick from the mildew as I am not allowed to be around mold and even on an allergy pill came come sick allergy/sinus infection from it. Others in room sick had to take my allergy pills okay when they got home. Had others hogging the pool, drinks in and around, foul language should have reported this and asked to go to another pool. Could not take the grandkids there. So, not fond of that unit only because you need to update on maintenance for mildew, the microwave and phone needed to be fixed or give us an update on room or some money back. I guess when you spend $300 a night you expect more. "

"Let It Go
The owners decided to "let this unit go". We have vacationed at Palm Island for 20+ years and this is the worst unit we have stayed in. Ridiculously hard beds in each bedroom ( we had quests leave early because they were so uncomfortable), stained furniture and carpet, outdoor fan rusted with peeling paint dropping in our drinks. This unit should not even make the "C" team. Very disappointed that the resort allows this one to be rented!

"Relaxing, peaceful, and no commercialism.
Everything went smoothly, check-in thru check-out.
The place we stayed was clean, well stocked with necessities. We had stayed on Palm Island before so knew to come with what we needed, so we did not have to go off the island. Enjoyed the atmosphere and privacy of the resort. Did shell collecting, playing on beach, bike rides, walks on beach,brunch at Leverocks, and ate a the Restaurant on the Island. We will be back...the question is how soon!"

We chose this beautiful spot for two different family celebrations: a 50th anniversary and five years later an 80th birthday. The proximity to 3 airports is perfect for arriving family members. The accommodations were excellent , the staff welcoming and the beauty of this island resort is unparalleled .There are activities for every age level; swimming in clean pools, kayaking around the inland waterways and of course the beach. The unspoiled beauty of the beach & dunes, with beautiful sunsets over the Gulf of Mexio, are memorable."
