"Great family vacation!
We have been vacationing at Palm island resort for almost 30 years, every year when family was young, now every few years although we plan to return to annual visits. It is perfect, the way I imagine Florida should be—no crowds, no high rises, long empty beaches, all natural. It has never changed (except for ongoing hurricane repairs). Condos are comfortable and private. Staff is super friendly and helpful. New concierge/grocery service is a great addition. No cars so very safe. A perfect place for family time. "

"Palm Island Getaway With Family
I have been to Palm Island for vacation a few times. This visit was with family, and as usual, did not disappoint. Everything was perfect, except for the weather, but no problems making the best of it. There were a few concerns which I did bring to the office on check out. It was nothing that would keep me from going back. Good times enjoyed by all!! Would recommend all day long."

"Another Magical Week

Had another amazing time with good friends. The condo was recently renovated and beautiful. Pool was just the right temp. September is a great time to go to Palm Island although hurricane chances are increased. We were lucky this year!
Service from the main office and housekeeping was amazing.
Restaurant food and service could have been better but we enjoyed not having to go off island. We chose the sunset over food!"

We had a great long weekend. The property is gorgeous, perfectly located on an elevated corner and very close to the beach. Check-in was smooth and quick. The only exception (and reason why I don’t give 5 stars throughout) was the checkout. Checkout time (11 am) coincided with a heavy storm, and we were not given any flexibility to checkout a bit later (an hour would have done). Rather, we were told we had to be out of the property by checkout time since the cleaning crew was coming at that time (doubtful given the purring rain and heavy thunder). We ended up leaving on time, getting soaked with the rain and exposed to the dangerous thunder. Kind of a spoiler of the whole experience; very disappointing."

"January stay review
Overall the experience was great. The tall bearded man greeting guests (I didn't get his name)could benefit from customer service training. A smile would've gone a long way. He didn't talk much and did not appear as though he planned to go out of his way to make us feel welcome/comfortable. A simple change in demeanor and friendliness would probably benefit your guests (and him as he would probably get better tips). Keith, on the other hand, helped us up to the condo with our bags and couldn't have been more pleasant. We could see how guests would truly appreciate interaction with that young gentleman. The condo was well maintained and fully stocked. We would suggest getting the carpet replaced or at least cleaned. The grounds are clearly well maintained. The Rum Bay restaurant staff, coconuts staff and front office staff were great. We look forward to a return trip!"

"Most Relaxing Vacation EVER
There's something about being transported on the ferry to this island that immediately lowers the blood pressure, removes all signs of stress and puts a smile on your face. The Gulf breeze, warm sand, and serene setting combined with lovely comfortable accommodations make for a perfect getaway, even for Floridians who take it for granted. The staff is cheerful and the food fantastic. What more could you ask for?"

"Great Villa - Bad Bed
The villa was really great. The view was amazing, the proximity to the beach was perfect. My only complaint is that the beds in both the master bedroom and the second bedroom downstairs with the two twin beds were extremely uncomfortable. Woke up every morning feeling like I slept on a slab of concrete, that's how hard the beds were. Please consider using more comfortable matresses. "

"Peaceful Paradise
This is the 8th time we've stayed at Palm Island, and it is always such a lovely experience. No matter what time of year we come, we always feel like the only one's on the island! The grounds are immaculate and the amenities outstanding! Our unit was a little more run down than it was when we stayed there a few months ago in May. However, we're certain the problems will be fixed, and it won't deter us coming again in 2015. "

Loved kayaking in the bay. The beach was amazing with picturesque sunsets! Condo was updated and very comfortable with sweeping views of the gulf and beach. Enjoyed this stay and rebooked for next year! Rum Bay grouper and special mixed drinks were delicious."

"Our recent stay
We have always truly enjoyed our stay at PI. On our most recent visit our Villa was a bit disappointing due to it's wear and we found a cockroach in one of the bedrooms. The overall resort was fantastic, and staff truly amazing. Ribs at Rum Bay are our favorite,, but service and quality of food was better on the weekend than mid week. We are returning next Thursday and hope our next unit will be a step up from last week. As you see, this is our family and friends favorite spot in Florida, we have been returning to PI Resort for the last 10 years,so you are doing something right! It is truly heaven!"

Our villa was quite accomodating. It was clean and had all the convieniences of home. It was off season so it wasn't crowded which was nice! The bellmen with the golf cart was usually pretty prompt, can't imagine the busy season!! Overall great experience. Hope to return!! "

"BE PREPARED
I have been visiting this property for over 10yrs. At my recent stay, the pools were not clean, the front office staff leave a lot to be desired. The manager Stephen is awesome, but his front desk staff, not so much. I had an issue that needed to be addressed, it took my calling over 4 times to have it resolved, and still today, 3 days later, I still do not know the outcome. If you want a "weekend getaway", this is the place to be, only if you can overlook the rudeness at the front office and not expect to have issues be addressed immediately. It is very peaceful if only you have no dealings with the front office ,Marty in particular!"

Our villa was beautiful! Better than we could have expected! We loved being so close to the beach, having an easily accessible and nicely maintained pool, and especially enjoyed our villa. The only complaint is that a couple of staff members at coconut point (where you rent equipment) could be friendlier and some of the bikes updated. Other than that, great experience!"

We had a great stay at Palm Island! The villa we stayed in was huge, beautiful, clean, right on the water - it was perfect! There was something to do for everyone. My husband enjoyed fishing while I enjoyed the sun at the beach and then we both enjoyed kayaking and the pools. The staff was very helpful and nice throughout the whole resort! We will definitely be returning next year and I can't wait!!"

"Overall stay
Carpet in the villa was filthy. It made it very uncomfortable to feel like walking without shoes. There was black mold on all of the patio chairs and around tub in master. the thermostat in the home did not regulate the air well and some rooms were freezing and some hot. It was obvious that the unit had not been used much because it was not as clean as it could have been, dusty and had a musty smell. My family has allergies and asthma so it made it difficult for all of us."

Even though it was cold, we had a fabulous time at the resort. A great place to unwind and spend time with family and friends playing games, reading, walking, fishing, shelling, watching gorgeous sunsets, and communing with nature. The hot tub was great on those cold nights. Our unit was beautiful, would definitely come back again, A great place to relax!!!

I made reservations in march 2009 for a unit next door to family for June 24 to July 2 Managment checked in March makeing sure the unit I requested was open. I was told it was open. I Made reservation at that time. Put money down at that time. When I arrive 3 months later they put me at other end of property away from family.I will think long an hard befor I come back to Palm Island for what it cost I can go other places that will honor reservations made three months in advance. "

We return nearly every year, via our 30' boat. Your docks have always needed shore power, for our boat. This year, the low hanging utility wire, made "B" docks in-accessable, and there were lose dock boards on "B: dock."

"Annual girl's weekend escape to Palm Island
Our group of 6-8 come to Palm Island every June to enjoy a getaway and relax. The condos are immaculate, well appointed and stocked with extras. The ocean view is amazing and only steps to the beach. The management staff is professional and helpful.
Of note: the island is not a place to come if you are looking for exciting nite life. There is only one restaurant/bar and is quiet after dark. However, if you are looking for some r & r at the beach, long walks, or balcony partys with good friends, this is the place to come. "
