"Outdated and Pests
This unit was infested with roaches. The unit is outdated and worn. The carpet is stained and dirty -appearing, and the kitchen floors were sticky. I contacted the management company regarding this and some minor issues during our stay and the response I received was a brief email thanking me for feedback and for staying at the property. There was no effort to improve things, no offer to send a pest control company. Then, immediately after my resturn home, they texted me asking me for a good review and they stated they prefer to handle any issues "offline". I had given them the opportunity to handle the issues "offline" and I feel their response reflects a lack of concern for customer satisfaction. I've stayed in other units in the same complex in the past that were much nicer than this unit. "

"Wonderful stay in nice condo
We enjoyed our stay in 3-202. The Keauhou Kona Surf & Racquet Club is well maintained as is this condo. The views of the ocean are spectacular. The furniture is comfortable and in good shape. Knutson & Associates was very easy to deal with. I would have liked it if the bed in the main bedroom was bigger but other than that everything was terrific."

"Two thumbs (way) up!
We are 2 adult women, world travelers and bffs for 50 years. We rent condos and houses worldwide when we travel. Our experience at Unit 3202 could not have been better. There was plenty of room, the lanai an absolute treat for relaxing, and stargazing at night and we loved the location (close to town but not in it) - we loved it all. The grounds were amazing, we even discovered ancient tiki's keeping watchful eyes over the queen's bath as we strolled the black sand beach! Personal recommendation - if you're considering Nighttime Manta Ray it! Amazing! We had one minor snafu, but a text was immediately responded to, and everything taken care of. We really appreciated that too. We would not hesitate to share this place with friends, and we're already talking about our next trip."

"Great Location and View
This was our second stay at KKSR, first time in this unit. Attractive beach house style furnishings and of course a wonderful ocean view. The grounds are well kept and private, with easy access to a nearby beach with good tidepools. Short drive or moderate walk to Kahaluu Beach Park for snorkeling. Mall just up the hill has all the necessities. We enjoyed the pool, tennis and ping pong and had pleasant interactions with residents and other guests. One small maintenance issue was fixed promptly by Knutson. We would happily stay here again. "

"Nice condo with a view

"A Perfect Spot
We stayed in Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club (#3202) for the Kona Ironman World Championship for about 2 weeks, The unit was just what we needed and made for the perfect stay. This second-floor unit overlooks the ocean. The view was spectacular with beautiful sunsets and a walking path along the ocean. The grounds were immaculate and well maintained. The unit did not have AC, but, honestly, we thoroughly enjoyed the ocean breezes and falling asleep to the sounds of the waves. The location is very convenient being close to a shopping center, restaurants, and everything you could need within a few minutes. The condo was well stocked with items we needed to prepare our own meals (which we did several times). I loved having breakfast out on the lanai. Hoping to return again."

"stay in May 2022
We love the KKSR & have stayed there multiple times but were less than impressed with this condo due to the carpet being very dirty, which should have been easily fixed before our arrival. There wasn't enough laundry soap for our use but we decided to be good guests though & washed the bedding & towels, then took home our dirty laundry.
We were also surprised about 2 months before our trip with a steep raise in the rates when there wasn't really anywhere else left to stay at a reasonable rate. Luckily, we were able to negotiate a more reasonable rate since we'd booked more than 6 months earlier.
One great thing about this condo though was how comfortable the temperature was. By just running the ceiling fans and the cross-ventilation, the temperature stayed really comfortable. The ocean view can't be beat & the stars at night were amazing! We watched dolphins frolic & loved the location to area attractions."

"Steps from the Sea
This condo's location was excellent...falling asleep to the sounds of the waves was heavenly, and the grounds, pool area and courts well kept. We had an issue with the kitchen blinds and the repair man was prompt and very courteous. Sadly, the condo itself is looking VERY tired, with the walls needing a full clean/paint job, the carpet being filthy and the dishwasher filter that my husband cleaned was absolutely disgusting, and obviously not cleaned in a LONG time. Being a wood structure, you could hear the folks upstairs, but not to the point of being annoying at all. Overall we loved our time here. "

"Beautiful View
Two weeks in Kona was perfect! Great weather and the view of the ocean can’t be beat. The condo is nice but starting to look a little worn around the edges. The condo is well supplied with the basics for an island get away. There weren’t any beach towels so we had to buy some. The kitchen had the necessary equipment. The Surf and Racket Club is beautiful and maintained well. We like it so much we are coming back next year. "

"Great Stay - Needs Some Updates
The view is amazing, the location is very convenient, and the condo was very clean. It didn't really impact our stay, but the condo could use some updates - the furniture is a little worn, outlets didn't always work, and the bed linens could stand to be replaced (bath linens were great). Kitchen was well appointed (but the coffee pot also needs to be replaced). Overall we had a great stay."

"Great View in Heavily Used Condo
Pros: View is absolutely amazing and great place to enjoy morning coffee or evening glass of wine. Place is very well stocked. Just about all you could want in kitchen!
Cons: Very well used (read "worn"). Carpet could especially use replacing both inside and out on balcony. Very thin walls, ceiling, floors. Can hear every footstep of people upstairs, so tried to step lightly ourselves to keep the noise down for the people downstairs from us.
Overall, it was a really great place to stay. Views are truly amazing and the price was certainly good. "

"Spacious and comfortable
I stayed in this condo during the month of September 2021 and found it extremely comfortable and relaxing. As a solo traveler I felt very safe and secure. I loved sitting on the lanai and watching the ocean, and enjoyed swimming in the pool everyday and walking around the beautiful grounds. The property is just a 5-minute drive from a shopping center that has a Longs Drugs, a number of restaurants, a great grocery store (KTA) and a farmer's market on Saturdays not to be missed. I hope to return soon!"

"Great condo and fantastic view!
My wife and two kids stayed in 3-202 in late March/early April. It was difficult to find a 2 BD/2 BA condo with two twin beds, so this was perfect. Considering the location right next to ocean, it was also a great value. We loved the view, waves and sunsets! The condo felt fairly spacious and very comfortable. The large lanai was fantastic and where we spent most of our time when not out exploring. If you walk north through the parking lot you will find a path to a small beach. Nice to visit and enjoy the ocean, but not really a spot to swim/snorkel. You can do that only a few miles north at the nearby park and also magic sand beach (be sure to check out the beach shack for breakfast and grill for lunch or happy hour). The kitchen had what we needed, furniture and beds were comfortable, cable tv and wifi worked no problems. The unit had 3 chairs and we left 2 additional chairs and a boogie board. Be sure to bring your own tennis, pickleball and ping pong equipment if you want to take advantage of the awesome courts. Pool was great, too. Finally, very good customer service and prompt calls/texts. PS: if you like tacos, be sure to hit up Shaka Tacos around 10 min drive south. Aloha!"

"Great view
The view is great and less than a 10 minute walk from a great snorkeling beach. Overall, the condo was clean and well taken care of. Updated kitchen and bathroom countertops and cabinets. The management needs to update their instructions, as they mentioned a lockbox for the key. The condo has a keyless entry which is convenient. The beds were super firm and very uncomfortable, hopefully, they will be replaced or have foam toppers added. One of the screens did not fit the windows very well, so we kept that window (by the front door). And the refrigerator started to freeze over. "

The unit was as described in the photos. It was very large , clean and very comfortable. It was great for a large family with kids or two couples. The condo was clean and had every amenity. It was close to Magic Sands beaches and many restaurants and a shopping plaza . However, it was in a quiet more secluded area . I would highly recommend this condo which had a swimming pool and tennis courts. "

"Perfect View!
We were very happy with the condo and the grounds of the complex. It was very lush and manicured. The pictures of the unit were accurate (always something I worry about with VRBO). The unit was limited on cleaning supplies; we had to go out and purchase our own dishwasher and washing machine detergent which we thought was odd. The complex is south of Kona, about a 10-15 minute drive so you will need a rental car. There are many great beaches within a short drive or 10-minute walk north. If you are a tennis player, the courts were very nice! While the pool area was pretty, it lacked an oceanview; therefore, we never went to the pool. Overall a good value."

" A Little Piece of Paradise!
I'm hesitating to give my reviews on this location. Everybody will want to book it! The view is night time the waves came in crashing the rocky bank side. This condo has all the amenities. Costco close, fresh fish,Japanese marinated beef, sticky white rice ready to microwave. Made pineapple margaritas every night and enjoyed the fabulous views. Only 45 minutes away from Umauma Falls Zip-line. It was the WOW factor! I can't wait to go back! There are so many sites to see. "

The condo is in a very lovely complex, well kept grounds, great swimming pool, tennis courts. Can’t beat the view of the Pacific and sunsets sitting on the lanai. The unit itself is large and comfortable, however the bathrooms are in serious need of uprading/remodeling. Washing machine has a strong mildew smell. On a positive note, good location to shopping and not far from White Sands Beach. "

"Big Island Getaway

We really enjoyed our stay here, the view was so amazing. Large lanai to eat meals or enjoy drinks on. The add originally said no WiFi but there is WiFi and cable, so that was a great bonus. The rooms were very spacious, living room was as well. The grounds of the complex were supperb. BBQ's available, tennis courts, pool all within a 2 minute walk. Kitchen was great, had all the pots and utensils we needed. The condo even had boogie boards and beach umbrella and tennis racquets for us to use. Honestly, it was better then I expected and thats rare these days. Really enjoyed our stayed, cant wait to go again "

"Great condo with fantastic views
My friend and I stayed at the Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club in condo 3202 for 5 days in late November early December. We were both highly satisfied with our experience and would both strongly recommend it to other guests.
The condo was as described with a beautiful absolutely oceanfront view and the rooms and property amenities were as shown in the add. The few problems we had were immediately addressed by management.
As an added bonus the condo is also within walking distance of an excellent snorkelling beach and an easy drive to the mall for grocery shopping. While close enough to Kona for entertainment and shopping it is also far enough away from it to offer quiet and relaxing accommodation - a perfect location.
I would definitely stay here again when I return to the Big Island for another holiday."

"Keauhou Kona Surf & Racquet A nice place
We shared this with another couple and this was a nice place to stay. The grounds were very well kept, the pool was clean and not very busy (great). The town is too far to walk but a quick drive. The place could do with a bit of a face lift just to freshen things up (dirty vent louvers, old tarnished door handles and hardware, marks on the walls (needs painting, and most of the plugs were "loose" and would arc when using {would not hold the plug in- DANGEROUS}. These are picky points but... overall we were happy with the condo it could just do with some personal attention to make it better. "

"Oceanfront bargain
We traveled to Hawaii with our family of four including two teenagers. The condo was spacious with amazing views. Our favorite was listening to the waves crash against the rocks at night. There were ample windows that allowed for great cross-ventilation at night. Location is convenient to small shopping plaza and about 15' to the main Kona shopping so it is more peaceful than the central Kona area, which we enjoyed. It was well-stocked for the beach with nice chairs and then some tennis rackets for family fun. The furniture could use some updating, and the kitchen was small, but for the price- we thought this was a great bargain. "

"Ideal Location for a Sisters' Retreat--Highly Suitable for All
What a delightful surprise to be able move into this unit on very short notice for the last two days of a brief pre-Christmas visit to Kona, as our brief time at a nearby Knutson unit rental concluded. This unit is spacious, restful and lovely. The resort's proximity to town encourages a good walk for sight-seeing and exercise if you are without a car. If it is peace and quiet you need, you don't
need to get out of bed to hear the surf below or watch the passing boats . The kitchen is well-appointed, open to the spacious and attractive dining/living room area. Whether on the couch with a book or the veranda/lanai with coffee, Ifound I wanted to "stay put" in the solitude of this airy "eyrie" for the two days of a most pleasant getaway. For the others, the unit was a homey base to get to local destinations that were a little more lively and vibrant. Warmest thanks to the Knutson staff for for a wonderful time in Kona!"

"Love the Location
The condo is located right on the water, we have stayed here in the past and love the location. It does however need updating. The cushions on the chairs on the lanai are the same ones that were were there two years ago and should have been replaced then. One of the chairs are broken. The toilet in the master bathroom does not flush properly and we had to replace light bulbs in many fixtures due to being burnt out. The vacuum cleaner does not work and one of the lamps in the master bedroom does not work and appears that it plug in was burnt at some point. The extra blankets were so old that when we brought them out one of them literally crumbled. We love the condo location and the floor plan but may not elect to stay here for our annual trip if the issues are not corrected. We did email the management company while we are there in regards to the issues with no response. I would recommend this to property if the issues are corrected."

"ALOHA!
In every way, Aloha. Being there is better than the pictures. Everything was just as advertised. Ocean breezes, spacious, comfortable, convenient to everything Big Island-Kona side.
...one caveat: It's probably over by now, but...The condo owner just below began a remodel on our second day. Cutting tile and wood on the lanai just below. Noise and dust. Loud and disruptive beginning at 8:am. Certainly his right to do so. Spoke with the owner. He apologized and used more water in cutting tile to reduce dust and noise. Unfortunately, Knutson didn't return any of my calls until we returned home. "

"Review - A week's stay in Unit 3-202, Surf and Racquet club
Overall, we had a fantastic experience staying for about a week. The reservation process online was easy, and we received clear instructions and directions on how to get in to the property.
Furnishings overall were very nice, the location is stunning with brilliant ocean views and light, and the decorations and furniture are tasteful. The access to the swimming pool, tennis courts with a pro, nearby groceries and easy ability to drive to town for dining were all major pluses. The kitchen overall was very well equippd too.
Two suggestions - the water in the toilet kept running, and this is a plumbing issue that needs to be fixed. Also, we couldn't get the TV to work which was ok with us but could be a problem for longer stays or families. On the plus side, the Wi-Fi was very good too.
On the whole I highly recommend this place for couples, families etc. - we had the perfect week here and would love to be back."

"Kona
My family (wife and 2 boys) just returned from a week in Kona, HI. All we wanted was a 2 bedroom on the water and this apartment definitely delivered. The views and sound of the waves were breathtaking. Relaxing on the Lanai after a day of snorkeling, and enjoying coffee in the morning watching the dolphins swim by was amazing. The apartment is close to snorkeling and Boogie boarding beaches, and 15min drive to Kona shopping and other activities. Although no A/C, and it did get a little hot at night, there were a few fans to make it bearable. No wifi made it difficult to connect to the real world, but my wife kept reminding me we were on vacation so maybe that was a good thing (although keep that in mind when posting all your Facebook pictures). In an emergency you can walk to the pool and tennis courts to use the public wifi. Plenty of boogie boards, water toys and beach chairs are provided. We are already looking forward to our return trip next year. "

"Tranquil Paradise
From the moment we walked through the front door and saw the expansive view, we knew this would be the vacation we would just relax and take in the beautiful surroundings. The unit was so close to the ocean, that when you sat on the LR sofa all you saw was water. It was like you were on a boat. Although the furniture is dated, the unit was clean and well . Make sure you use all the equipment in the 2nd bedroom closet (tennis rackets, snorkel gear, etc.)
The location was close enough to the shops in Kona, but far enough away that it is quiet. The grocery store was a short drive or walk up the hill. There is a farmers market on Saturday mornings where you can pick up the freshest fruit I have ever tasted. My wife and I miss the island already and are looking forward to a return trip within the year."

"Breathtaking view from a perfectly setup condo!
Our stay in the ocean front condo at the Surf & Racquet Club, really made our trip. Location was beautiful with the ocean breeze continually blowing in through the windows. It's close to all amenities. The condos renovations and style made our stay feel very welcome. My kids and I will request this specific condo every time we stay in Kona. "

Excellent! Great view and liked the layout of the condo. Condo was VERY well supplied for any items wanted for time on the island. Both for excursions and time in the condo. The setting was fantastic and the entire club was well kept and beautiful. "

"Kona Surf & Racquet, Unit 3-202
Gorgeous grounds, great pool, nice tennis courts, very friendly, helpful maintenance/groundskeepers.
Unit 3-202 is a little tired but clean and serviceable, an overhead fan doesn't reverse, the coffee maker didn't work, some of the plastic-ware in the fridge was broken, large washer/dryer, walls are scuffed and stained in places, the bed and pillows are hard, we bought and left behind new pillows and a pillow-top mattress pad.
Good floor plan, large deck, lovely view, nice breeze through the unit.
The biggest drawback is the vintage of the construction - floors are not well insulated for sound. Footfalls in the unit above boom loudly. As much as we love kids, we were lucky there weren't any above us. The back-and-forth booming of the adults was annoying enough.
We'd stay at Surf & Racquet again, but only in a top floor unit. We would not recommend 3-202. "

We very much enjoyed our 6 nights in this condo, from morning breakfast on the balcony to watching the sunset. Location is superb - there are 2 beaches within walking distance and you can walk up a short hill to a great espresso and creperie shop. We will stay here again."

"Great balance of price, location and amenities
Most days were spent off property. The condo was a great place to begin and end our days. The oceanfront location was wonderful. We ate most meals on the deck. We didn't miss AC. There were two groups of children above us running around at all hours which annoyed some folks. The unit is a little tired, but very adequate. A toilet needed repair; the TV remote was defectie and we were so relaxed we didn't do anything about either. Says a lot about how much we enjoyed it. I'd come back in a minute. Great value. If it were more expensive I'd look around for a hot tub and air conditioning and a little nicer decor."

Lovely home to stay in while in Kona. Unit 3202 appears to be the closest unit to the water. The surf crashes against lava rock right in front of you. It is a well maintained home thanks to the attentive owner. I hope to stay in this unit again in the future. Mahalo. "

"Great Kona Experience
I originally rented a different condo, but was told a week prior that "something happened" to my rental, so I was moved to this location instead. It was a bit further from where I wanted to be, but was more than happy with the change. Great location, clean condo, though I did have some trouble with the fans at first. Overall a great experience."

"Great!
No hassle stay. Very clean and comfortable. Could have used a few more beach towels and pillows but the condo had everything else. We had a great time grilling out and having dinner oceanside on the porch. Mahalo!"

"Last minute and saved our vacation
We arrived to Kona and our original condo had loud construction going on in the unit directly above us. I contacted our agent for this unit and they provided a full refund. We then contacted Jamie with Knutson and she was amazing. We only had an hour or so to find a new condo to stay in and Jamie did everything right over the phone and had us in this amazing condo within the hour. I can't say enough about Jamie and her actions to save our vacation. Thanks for everything and I'll be contacting this company in the next few weeks to book this unit again."
