"GREAT VACATION
The condo was beautiful, spacious and very clean.
The only problem was the owner put a timer on the hot water heater, so there were many cold showers.
Brooks & Shorey responded to our concerns but said that they would have to contact the owners and hire an electrician to fix the problem ...so it did not get fixed...which was disappointing. We would like to rent this unit again if they could assure us the hot water situation was resolved."

"Nice vacay rental
The condo was perfect for my husband and I. There was plenty of room for another couple or a larger family, if needed. It was clean and looks like it may have been recently remodeled. Some of the furniture in the living room could use some extra cleaning but for the most part it was a nice rental. The view was beautiful and the balcony was perfect for dinner at sunset. "

The room was exactly as described and adequately equipped for our stay. I did feel as though it wasn’t the cleanest. We found a few leftover items in the room. A few suggestions would be new mattresses (especially in the master) and more towels for guests. Other than that we enjoyed it and will definitely be renting again for future trips. "

"Fabulous condo
We have stayed at many different condos on Okaloosa Island, but I think this one was by far the best. Even though Surf Dweller is an older building and the pool is not beachfront, we love the spacious rooms and large balcony. This condo was totally updated, beautiful kitchen with everything you could possibly need and more. The beautiful and tasteful furnishings were gorgeous, updated bathrooms and wine refrigerator excellent. Everything was exceptional, beds were comfortable. Just to make our getaway perfect, the weather was great, water was calm and clear. We had a wonderful , relaxing time, can’t wait to come back! "

"Lovely
Love the condo and location. Two constructive criticisms...
1) A condo kept so nicely shouldn’t skimp on the mattresses. Sleeping was uncomfortable and left us in pain every morning.
2) There is air seeping through the top of the master bedroom patio door. It makes an awful sound. Again, making sleeping impossible. Luckily we had painters tape in the car. So our first night we spent chasing the awful noise and then covering it up.
If those two things are fixed, it would be great. "

"The Good, Bad & Beautiful
Lovely remodeled condo in a great location. Loved the huge balcony area. Sitting area and table for dining. A bonus was the free beach service ($40 per day). The bad was the wine opener. Old fashion, hard to use. Beautiful views that includes fabulous sunsets. Management was very helpful whenever contacted. Unit was very clean and well maintained. Would highly recommend and we WILL return next year."

"Very nice updated condo with a great view
This condo is updated and very nice and clean. We really enjoyed how spacious and quiet it was and how large the balcony was. It did appear they were still renovating it with some of the woodwork not being painted and the walls were not fully painted either, but I'm sure it will be completed in time. The rental company was very easy to work with and provided quick and good customer service for the one problem we had. The skillets in the kitchen were all scratched and the Teflon was flaking off. They delivered new skillets that same day. I would stay in this condo again if it was located in Destin. "

"Very Nice Condo
Our experience was very nice and relaxing. We had planned to return for my wife's birthday in Feb but if we do we won't stay at the Surf Dweller or the condos on either side. the last 2 days of our trip we saw how the unobstructed view of the beach and Gulf will be destroyed by the NuShore project installing fences from the beach into the Gulf about every 300 ft. The picture on the survey will not be what you see until after 5/31/22"

"Rental Review
B+ Overall good experience however unit was not clean and problems existed. Hot water heater is small and old which does not create enough hot water for more than 2 people. Fridge was dirty and had broken shelves. Sand existed everywhere especially in sheets in beds which was terrible. Beds were uncomfortable and pillows were dirty. It was not what we expected in terms of cleanliness for the price. Everything else was very good including location. "

"Wonderful condo for our family vacation!
We had a really great trip & this condo was really great. Really easy check in/out process. Close to everything, huge beachfront balcony which we utilized quite a bit, and comfortable/stylish furnishings. Would love to know the brand of sofas! It is an older unit so it’s large and is mostly updated. The only few minor things that I would say it needs is a lock or chain latch inside the entry door. The property is secure but it is easy for littles to open the door and get out due to the style of knob. The sliding door seemed to get hung up a few times and could probably use a little grease. The small bedroom tv remote must have had dead batteries. Luckily we got Disney on and just turned on/off on the side. Other than that we had an excellent time and would definitely stay again in the future. "

"Long-awated return trip did not disappoint
We were looking forward to our first trip back to Okaloosa in 6 years with three grown daughters and grandsons. Great location! Nice condo wtih plenty of seating in the LR which was needed for our crew. I took large skillets and griddle to cook with for our bunch but it wasn't needed. I believe there were more dishes and things to cook with than I have at home, leaving not much room in the cabinets to put our food. We were annoyed somewhat with the guys putting out the chairs and umbrella as they seemed to play favorites to the people who rented directly from them as opposed to us who had them provided by the owner. Our elevator on the west end went out a few times but was repaired quickly. Pool was maintained well. Never used the weight room or tennis court-didn't have time!So glad Stewby's is on the island now-an old favorite of ours! A great family vacation!"

"Long Beach Weekend
We stayed down at the surf dweller for four nights. The place was exactly what we were looking for and offered it at a reasonable price. Love the area. Used to stay at Venus Condos several times with my late husband but wanted to see the ocean from my room so my daughter just searched the area and the picture that showed up from Surf Dweller showed the furniture with off white and soft blue so I was hooked. The kitchen supplies were great. We asked the checkers from Public's for recommendations for good sea food restaurants. Both said Stewby's at the same time. They were correct. We ate there about six times during our two week stay. Will definitely plan on visiting next year, the Lord willing!!"

We loved this condo! We will definitely stay here again��. It was very spacious and decorated with really good taste! The only problem that we had was with the guy in charge of beach chairs. "Great Unit Overall
The unit was just as pictured online! We had a few days of no internet that was disappointing. The tennis court was in poor condition (dirty, net was terrible). Also, the unit could have been vacuumed better before we got there, but that didn't take away from our stay! Be prepared to buy everything you need down to the salt and pepper. All in all, we loved the unit and will return next year."

Beautiful condo. Had a wonderful vacation with my family. Plenty of room for my crew of six. Only complaints I had were the washer and dryer were far too small and the elevators were out half the time. Plan to stay again but hope the washer and dryer will be replaced. I had to do 17 loads of laundry because they were so small. "

"Not the best experience
Unit was not clean upon arrival, floor was dirty and the vacuum cleaner does not pick up anything, no towels except the ones we found wet in the washing machine (only 3 bath towels). Called several times to get towels and didn’t get any until the next day after 5pm. Place has some nice updates but overall in need of a good cleaning. Dust and crumbs were everywhere, sheets did not look cleaned. Hair found in bed under sheets. One elevator was not working upon arrival, garbages by elevators were overflowing. I am sorry to say we will not stay here again. "
