Palm Tree Estate offers a private gated entry on the famed Kahala Avenue just south of Diamond Head Crater and 10 minutes from downtown Honolulu. The ocean is steps away with direct private access to the water from the front lawn area. This part of the island is best for snorkeling or paddling along the protected reef. Waikiki beach is approximately 10 minutes drive. Royal Palms line a stone-paved driveway leading to an impressive landscaped entry. The home includes a five bedroom, five bath main house with serene ocean front lanai and two living areas. Fully furnished and professionally designed with every attention to detail and style, the two story floor plan includes a main living room and bar, ocean front dining area and separate upstairs media room. A large covered lanai from the upstairs master suites provide a tranquil ocean front setting reminiscent of an unspoiled, "old" Hawaii. Guest rooms are large and all feature ensuite bath. Cancellations received prior to the 60th day before the check-in date, are subject to a penalty equal to the amount of the rental deposit.

On the 60th day before the check-in date, the deposit and any other funds paid toward the total balance become non-refundable. This means that if a reservation is cancelled 60 or fewer days before the check-in date, then the deposit and any other funds paid toward the total balance will not be returned and will be considered compensation for the time and administrative expenses incurred, and for the inconvenience, damages and losses caused by such cancellation. If the total balance is not paid when due, the Agent or the Owner may cancel the booking at any time thereafter upon written notice to the Principal Guest(s).

"Disappointed. Too much $$ for what you get. Not as promised.....
It's very rare that we give a bad review, but, in this case we believe it is warranted. The first disappointment was that there is construction going on next door which wasn't disclosed to us prior to making the reservation. It would have been fair and right for the Property Management to have notified us upfront and allow us to make our own decision about renting next door to a construction site. Second disappointment is that the online pictures of this property are not current, the property is quite dated and had various issues that should be properly addressed, maintained and/or fixed. As the owner of several rental properties, we found it unnerving that the Property Management or Owner would allow this property to be rented in its current state at the current rental rate. Third disappointment, while the issues were brought up by us just before the end of our stay, they were not issues that could have been solved during our visit. Property Management issued a standard "sorry about the inconvenience" and, "no one has complained about this before" and, "we could have handled if you let us know sooner" email, but did nothing to make things right for us. Disappointed and won't be using them again."

"beautiful property
My family came from New Zealand, Detroit, Sun Valley Idaho, and Los Gatos California to celebrate my 80th birthday. The rooms were lovely but some did not get any air flow. the property was on the ocean, but there was no beach and very inconvenient to get to one...i.e.drive down a few blocks, or walk with chairs, snorkels etc...The kitchen was extremely well stocked, the home had more extra rooms than we used i.e. the media room .

The manager was so wonderful. He put the most beautiful flower arrangements in each bedroom....and baked a pudding for us. Really a great get together for ages 13 through 80. Thanks to all."

"Wonderful setting!
A group of 10 friends and family had a wonderful week here in January. The setting is perfect--wonderful sunrises and sunsets and convenient to everywhere we wanted to go, although we spent a great deal of time on the lanai and in the water near the house. We rented standup paddle boards for the week and they were heavily used, right at the house. There was plenty of room for all of us to have privacy and also enjoy times together, although the bathrooms were small and could stand some upgrading. The house was well-stocked with all kinds of beach gear, everything we could have wished for, including beach towels, beach umbrellas, boogie boards, aquasoxs and beach chairs. The house also had games, playing cards, and jigsaw puzzles.
We cooked most of our meals at the house and the kitchen was adequate, except there were no serving dishes large enough for 10 people. A nice feature is a separate wet bar with a standalone ice maker, so we never ran out of ice. There is a Whole Foods nearby and the Costco was only 20 min away. All in all it was a great trip, very private and quiet, a great place to relax and to enjoy a big group."

Well accomodated beach front property, great for family retreat. Fully equiped kitchen and a nice wet bar for entertainment. Linen well stocked and comfortable bedding. Nice fresh tropical flowers with best welcome bread/pie pudding. While the property was pleasant and enjoyable it needs to be maintaned and updated."

"A great escape...
This property is gorgeous. I stayed here with family and friends for one week who were mostly locals. We had an intimate wedding ceremony in the yard. It was absolutely perfect. Steven & Jeremy, the property managers, were extremely helpful and made the renting process easy and smooth. Beautiful view of the sunrise over the ocean. It is a very serene and private location even though neighbors are close by-I almost forgot that Waikiki was around the corner. The best part of this house was obviously the location (perfect area for snorkeling with a gorgeous view of Koko Head, yet conveniently in town), but this rental also comes stocked with kitchen appliances, dishes, beach gear...basically everything you need in a house AND on vacation. When we moved in, the house was spick and span-so clean! I highly recommend renting this property or any other properties managed by Private Homes Hawaii (they were very easy to work with and answered all of our questions and concerns)! "

"Beautiful Home--Our Best Vacation yet!
We had the most wonderful vacation at this home. It was perfect in every way! It was large enough for our entire family ( Four Couples and 5 Children)….and we didn't even need to use the guest cottages! The location could not have been better, just a short 8 minute drive to Waikiki and about 15 minutes from Hawaii Kai, where we prefer to go to Costco! Steven and Jeremy were very accommodating and helped us out with any questions or requests we had. We can't say enough about this home! Hopefully we will be able to return soon!"

"We already booked the property again for 2015!
Our 6 person family had an amazing time at Palm Tree Estate. The location was perfect, with excellent views of the ocean, easy access to the beach, and was only a short distance from grocery stores, restaurants, churches, and even the Kahala hotel. The home is well maintained, with everything one might need. We enjoyed our time so much that we have already made a booking to return to stay at the estate again in 2015. "

"Happy family holidays in Hawaii
"perfect" is the best way to describe our family vacation, in Hawaii.Weather wonderful,the house terrific, with ALL amenities! We particularly enjoyed the privacy of our rental--especially within the nearby location of Waikiki traffic and activity--a real oasis for us.We were within easy access of groceries, medicine etc etc.Even after 52 years, when we lived there, its still Hawaii--good food and the wonderful ALOHA spirit."
