Ed Z’Berg – Sugar Pine Point State Park contains one of the finest remaining natural areas on Lake Tahoe. With nearly two miles of lake frontage, the park has dense forests of pine, fir, aspen, and juniper. Winter visitors to the park will find over 20 kilometers of marked cross country ski trails and a heated restroom in the General Creek campground.

D.L. Bliss State Park is open to vehicular traffic in the summer, where you can enjoy swimming or scuba diving in the crystal clear water of Lake Tahoe, picnicking, relaxing on the warm sand of Lester Beach or Calawee Cove, and access to hiking the Rubicon Trail, Lighthouse Trail, and Balancing Rock Trail. Lester Beach is a popular location to launch your kayak, paddleboard, or canoe.

Just a few miles down the road you’ll find Homewood, Alpine Meadows, and Squaw Valley Ski Resorts. The Magical West Shore has great options for whatever you fancy: snowshoeing, snowboarding, downhill or cross-country skiing, sledding, and more!

Interested dining options? We highly recommend the Fire Sign Cafe for breakfast and lunch. The local market is convenient for a quick stop and there is a pizza restaurant that is sure to please. Open in the summer, Chambers Landing is the oldest bar on Lake Tahoe. The menu features a wide variety of delicious items and a kids menu is also available. A favorite family hot spot and accessible from land and by boat from the lake, Chambers Landing is known for its pristine views of Lake Tahoe.

To experience all the gambling and nightlife that the Lake Tahoe area offers, South Lake Tahoe/Stateline is about a 30-minute drive.

"Smack dab in a winter wonderland
Imagine the stock photo of the home surrounded by 12' of snow. That amount of snow plus the proximity to Homewood made for a great snow week.

The home was clean and everything seemed to be in working order. We were provided with everything we needed sans food and drinks of course.

Using the fireplace helped keep us warm while down stairs. It was in the teens most of our stay, but most of the home stayed relatively warm. The exception was the upstairs bedroom facing the front of the house. Just couldn't get that room to warm up. Luckily we brought sleeping bags for the kids so the were comfy anyway."

This rental needs major updating!!!! No wood, hardly any kitchen supply’s or towels, the throw rugs had burnt holes in them and cigarette butts by the back door our Christmas holiday was not what we expected from the price of this place won’t be staying there again!!!!!!"

"Tahoma Cabin
Our cabin was clean but out dated. Please spend some of my rent on light bulbs for the home. Kitchen was not fully equipped. Television is small and slow to respond. During our rainstorm the garage flooded. Foul smell in garage. "

" Great stay. It’s odd that there were very few lightbulbs 😖
Good family fun. Couldn’t figure out the fireplace situation. Good place for family and friends."

"Winter getaway
Me and the family really enjoyed our stay at the Rubicon cabin. Very clean, cozy and reasonably priced. The snow was beautiful and the driveway plowed for easy vehicle access. Everything working properly but be sure to bring some wood to burn. Stores are near by and plenty of snow parks. Would love to visit this property again!"

"Rubicon Home
The property is clean and well maintained. The beds are comfortable and I can immediately tell that the sheets and beddings are clean. The location is great. The only thing I would suggest is to update the light fixtures in the living room and bedrooms. Even if all the lamps are turned on, it is still too dark. Just FYI: during our stay, there were three big ( off- leash) dogs always visiting the backyard and deck. Check before opening the sliding door, especially if you have your pet with you. "

"First cabin me and my family ever attended
The cabin was really relaxing no noise and such a beautiful backyard view "

"Great family cabin
The cabin was clean and well stocked with the basics. We really appreciated the sleeping options, as two rooms had two beds. The location was great.

The only suggestion I have is that the downstairs bedroom did not have proper window coverings. No blinds, and curtains that didn’t stretch across the length of the window. The room is at the front of the house so not having privacy was pretty inconvenient. Other than that, it was a great rental! "

"Tahoma cabin
Loved the location but it was difficult to get a hold of the mamagement company and the house was poorly lit. We called 6-7 times to communicate with the management company and see if we could get new lighrbulbs but had no success. Beyond that the house served its purpose in having a place to sleep and eat so we enjoyed ourselves."

"Pleasant place to stay
The house was very clean, had a few problems with carpenter ants coming into the house from the garage. Kitchen was nicely remodeled but lights were out over kitchen sink and in refrigerator. Beds were fairly comfortable but I would recommend bringing your own pillows from home if you can. Rental's were flat... Deck was great, kids loved the swing, and trees are awesome. Bathrooms need updating but were clean with no plumbing problems. Having garage access was a plus. We stored our bikes in there when not using them. Washer and dryer came in very handy. Close to the main highway and local grocery store. We had three children age 6, 4, and 2. Even though they were a nice touch, we had to put away some of the doodads used for decoration as they were breakable (plates) or heavy (large metal candlesticks). Street was fairly busy with traffic. "

"Rubicon Cabin
Our experience was positive overall. The cabin was easy to find, small but cozy, and a good base central to our stay in Tahoe. The property is dated and a few items are in need of maintenance. The cabin stay was of good value, the neighbors friendly and we enjoyed our stay. "

"Great location for us...
Needed a last minute getaway close to my sister's place and this one fit the bill. Clean and neat, this is classic Tahoe '70's, complete with pink bathtub! "

"they had it all
this property was great. well stocked just like being at home, away from home. my family and i enjoyed our winter stay. the house was cozy, we didn't eat out at all i cooked everyday. there was snow right outside. short distance from homewood for skiing and a sledding area for kids and adults also a short distance away. on the downside i could not wait to get back to my own bed, the beds are extremely hard. there are no outside lights on the property making it impossible to do anything at night. i never seen the property manager the whole week. overall i give this property a 6."

"Tahoe Vacation
Great house with everything we needed close to Homewood. Plenty of space for our family of 6. The beds were comfortable and it was very clean and well kept. The neighborhood was quiet and off the main street. The only problem we had was finding the location of the home. We drove in when it was dark. The house numbers go from 406 to 408 to 412 to 407 all on the same side of the street. So when you see 406 and 408 just keep driving. When we called the rental company to get help with directions they seemed very annoyed and after helping us with directions actually hung up on us. Other than that everything was great."

"Cute, clean traditional mountain cabin
This cabin is a great value. While it may not be the most up to date, everything you need is there and is in great condition. For the money, this place cannot be beat. First accommodation was easy to work with and everything was as expected. A great place on the Weat Shore. "
Aug 26, 2015 - Jill H., Newport Beach, CA

"Great location for Chambers
My family enjoyed the close proximity to Chambers Landing. The house was OK. It was comfortable. The deck out back with the bbq was a highlight of the house. Stove needs to be updated as we tried to cook on it, but burners were very inconsistent. Downstairs shower needs to be repaired: doors almost impossible to slide and rotting marlite around window was an eyesore."
Aug 05, 2015 - Tim H., Fair Oaks, CA

"Cozy older cabin
The cabin was comfortable and cozy. They had everything we needed for our stay (even kitchen scissors) and everything was in working order. The mattresses were all firm. The only drawback for me was the inconvenience of the electric bear wire that has to be fastened and unfastened as you come and go through the outside doors."

"Old Tahoe cabin
We enjoyed staying in what we, and others, described as a real Old Tahoe cabin, even though there were a few drawbacks. It was very appealing with a woodsy look and great fireplace and deck, but the beds were not husband had to sleep on the living room sofa, since two of us in the bed made the mattress sink dramatically in the middle. It was ok for just one. There was noise from trucks, etc., but that usually ended overnight, but we all wore earplugs overnight. The house was clean and the property very comfortable. Lots of books and games were provided, but the kitchen could be better stocked with some cooking basics. There were no wine glasses. We all agreed that it was in a good location, other than the proximity to the street. The propert manager couldn't have been more helpful, though. We would recommend this rental property without hesitation, but with full knowledge of the drawbacks.

We have participated in an annual family reunion in Homewood for 45 years!"

"Great escape from the Bay Area!
The cabin is centrally located between Tahoe City and South Shore. We had a great time relaxing at the beach and enjoying the wilderness! The cabin was clean and felt comfortable."

"6000' closer to God
We had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back. A very homey feeling to the house. "

"Liked the location
The location was great, quiet and close to hiking and the lake. The beds were awful, like sleeping on a box spring. I slept on the sofa after the first night. The oven does not work properly it never got hot enough to cook. Even though property did not appear dirty, you could smell dust on the bed and sofa. Pillows and bed covers need to be aired out. There were no smoke detectors, however the property management said they would get that taken care of. Luxury rentals were approx the same price, we stayed here because we could bring our small dog, but next time would leave the dog with friends or at the kennel so we could sleep comfortably. Personally I would be embarassed to rent out my property with the mattresses that were in this place. Should have rented for much less"

"Very nice cabin
Could we get Wifi? A chambers membership would also be great but not if it increased the price. "

"Nice Tahoma Cabin
Stayed first week of August. Loved the cabin. Minor issue with the oven not heating properly"
Aug 08, 2011 - , Murrieta, CA

"Great rental
Other than the kitchen sink which fell probably as a result of a recent remodel our stay was very enjoyable. The home was clean and proved to be ideal for our family's vacation needs.
