The Rockporter is a charming waterfront vacation rental home that sits on a quiet lane in Rockport's Pigeon Cove. You'll be as close to the ocean as one can be on Cape Ann, enjoying sweeping views of Sandy Bay from most rooms in the house. Set up to comfortably sleep 7, the house has an eat-in kitchen, a formal dining room, living room, and a first-floor bedroom and full bath. On the second floor are three additional bedrooms and a full bath.

Enjoy the sea breezes and salt air while relaxing on the patio, or take delight in some of the most spectacular oceanfront walks directly from your front door. Equidistant from spectacular Halibut Point State Park and Rockport’s Back Beach (about a mile in either direction), you can easily explore Pigeon Cove. The small working harbor is not only beautiful but also full of history, with the dormant site of the former Cape Ann Tool Co. on one side and the skyline of downtown Rockport in the other direction. The lobster boats coming and going with their daily catch make harbor watching lively and interesting.

Beautiful backyard and water view. Serene, quiet, lovely and relaxing. Close enough to town for walking and the house was perfect for us. We had a wonderful week."

"Great Water View
The house is in a great location. It has a nice water view and you could walk into downtown Rockport in less than a half hour. The house was decently decorated and appointed, but not top of the line. In addition to a big water view, you could see a working fishing harbor. Within view was a large former factory being converted into shops. Though some might find it an eyesore, I like industrial re-use buildings,so it was not a problem for me. There were about 4 houses very nearby, so I did not feel isolated. It was a heatwave when we were there, and one of the bedrooms had a fan, but no air conditioning. Typically it is not that hot and this would not be a problem."

"Don’t be fooled by Ad you can barely see the cove.
To be honest I was quite disappointed in the place we are staying for the price we paid. Upon entering there is a deep musty smell that sets the tone. The floor in the kitchen is warped and the vinyl floring slapped over it just sinks down when walked on. The refrigerator is small for the size of the house some of the dishes in the cupboard had food residue still caked on, grill is very old and 2nd rate to begin with and didnt cook food, barely toasted buns but most disappointing is the lack of view available as opposed to what is seen in the advertised photos. I would have been able to overlook some of the outdated substandard aspects of the house if the location was to make up for it but most of the view is blocked out by overgrowth that for a fraction of what I paid could have been trimmed down in a day so that the harbour and shoreline could be seen from a sitting position on the deck.

There is also a decaying and hazardous table next to the grill that serves no other purpose than an eyesore while sitting at the patio table.

"Sweltering in New England
The house does not have central AC, only one old window unit upstairs. Temperature inside was 88 degrees when we arrived. AVH manager was prompt in sending a second window AC unit, which helped but only cooled one other bedroom. Circuit breaker blew when we operated the AC units and the microwave at the same time. Very limited closet space to hang up clothes. Some maintenance issues such as torn window screens and broken blinds on the screened in porch. Kitchen did not have garbage disposer or dishwasher so we chose to use our own paper plates. Kitchen table and benches were very sticky to the touch, unpleasant to use. Interior decoration was very nice. View out to sea was lovely, though the boneyard of rusty steel girders next door spoils the ambience a bit. Great fun to watch the lobstermen do their work right in front of us. Easy access by car to the town and shopping center. "
