"light house
Nice place to stay but needed some updates. It clearly hadn't been lived in for a long while"

"Older Beach House that needs work
We had a good trip, fished, relaxed and went to the beach as well. There was lots of rotted wood underneath the house that was a little scary. The garage door almost fell on my car. Property manager did not ever call us back. "

""My first, but not my last"
I'll admit, I was a little apprehensive about staying in someone else's house and having family in and out during the whole period, but it was a pessimist's pleasure to stay here.
The Pros:
Fully stocked kitchen, (very important to me since I'm the cook of the family) even a couple of things I don't have at home.
Fully stocked wet bar including the shot glasses. (important)
Full sized washer/dryer. (yeah, I'm a clean freak)
Stock of towels … lots of towels.
Three vacuums, Dust Buster, Swiffer, etc.
A new BBW grill, and an old BBQ grill. (I preferred cleaning and using the old, seasoned grill).
Lots of patio furniture on the upper and lower decks.
Lots of sleeping space. Queen-sized beds, bunk beds, futons. Even the recliners stretched out enough to be comfortable in. I know, I did it 2 nights in a row.
The water pressure in the master bath shower was amazing! Talk about "getting in there" to get the sand out!
A balcony view and seating from every room.
Parking access inside the house's garage.
The Cons: (Keeping in mind I'm retired from facility maintenance, I'm a bit critical on building inspection)
The WiFi was inop the entire time we were there. Really frustrating when it came time to do a little off work business. Our cell phones would connect, but the laptops would not.
Unreported broken or loose furniture and fixtures.
The main room does not face the water, the kitchen and dining room do.
The master bedroom holds a little heat towards the end of the day and takes a while to cool off in the evenings.
The first floor door heading out to the patio is so warped, it's a struggle to open or close.
The lighting on the patio was sufficient, but the fixtures need to be checked, oiled, rust removed, and bulbs replaced. The fans were awesome!
Other than the WiFi, I would definitely come back to the "Lighthouse". Thank you for everything."

"Better than the pictures
This house has it all, everything you want for a vacation. We enjoyed the fishing lights and easy acess to the gulf. Mario's pizza close by is simply the best, my grandkids just loved it. We hope to return next year!!"

"Perfect Location
We stayed with a large group for several days before a cruise. The house was very comfortable with plenty of room for a large group. Very nice wrap around deck with a great view of the waterway. Kids enjoyed watching the fish swim around the underwater light at night. House was well stocked with every amenity you should need. Location was easy to find and still close to stores as well as beach access. Quiet location was a plus.
Will definitely stay here on our future trips to Galveston!"

"Nice House, but beware of what you don't see!
We arrived for to chill out, catch up on dominoes and cards with family (brothers) I hadn't seen in a while. House seemed nice, no way could this house sleep 15, 8 more like it, however then again I didn't count the floor space... My daughter stayed in the room with the bunk beds, this is when the horror started. Before going to bed on the first night, my daughter came running to me screaming with ants all over her arms up to her wrists. I asked where she was and she said "just laying in her bed"! I found some Raid in the cabinet and sprayed her room area, (killing generations of ants). One of my brothers "screamed you gotta see this"! All around the bunk bed room roaches were making a break for it (from my spraying of Raid ant & roach). I don't have to tell you this did not and will not sit well with me & my family. This house is definitely off my list..."

"Had a wonderful vacation
The house was absolutely beautiful. The check in was very confusing. We told to get a key from under the mat and it didn't fit the door. Come to find out there were directions to the house and an address with the key.we didn't know what to do with the keys at check out. Better communication would be recommended but overall great experience and plan on coming back."

"Galveston Vacation
Excellent location for a family reunion. Plenty of sleeping space (3 bedroom - one with bunk beds, one full size and one with king and full size in same room. Hugh fully equipped kitchen with every appliance imaginable. Great stay and very helpful management company. "

"Weekend Getaway
We had a large group of 10. Plenty of room for eating and sleeping arrangements. The House was clean and the kitchen had everything we needed and more. The pictures do not do it justice. "

It was very nice and relaxing time. I enjoyed that the ocean was close and we could walk or drive our Go Karts. "

"Wonderful stay
We had a wonderful stay at the beach the house was very nice and comfortable we will be back soon."
May 13, 2015 - Norma A., Houston, Texas

"Disappointing Communication
We arrived to the house with a few challenges. The floors were extremely dusty, the towles smelled of mildew (left in washer too long so I had to wash), only 1/2 roll of toilet paper upon arrival, old coffee grounds left in coffee pot, the hurricane shutter broken and would not open in first bedroom and the tv broken in the 2nd (master) bedroom. I do have to say overall we had a great time but I tried to get these items fixed to no avail. The two items of concern were the hurrican shutter as the individuals in that room couldn't open it at all and you felt like you were in some type of a cell! The TV in the master was disappointing as you would like to be able to peruse especially since the golf tourny was on this last weekend. I texted the company asking for an adjustment and in turn they tell us we broke the blinds....they were broken upon arrival and laying across a dresser in the hallway! I still haven't heard back from them on the adjustment as things were not right nor corrected during our stay. We do like the bay side as it was more pleasant visually rather than the beaches with all of the seaweed. Billie was very nice but unfortunatley didn't make anything happen when it came to the challenges and I still have yet to hear back from her."

"Summer 2014
All of our guests really enjoyed the house. Beautifully appointed interior and details. We would definitely stay here again. "
Jul 15, 2014 - Kimberly L., Houston, Texas

This place exceeded my expectations, and if you know any thing about me, it is near impossible to do. Place was gorgeous and very homey. Will definitely stay again! Absolutely loved this beach house. I already recommended this place to my friends and they are staying here in August!"

"Wonderful getaway
The house was very nice and clean and airy, and all interior furnishings were nice. The outdoor furniture could use some updating, but the space is still very nice for a large get-together. The house is huge, too, with an open living/dining/kitchen, so there's plenty of space for 3-4 average-size families to enjoy. It is what you would expect of a house on the canal, with close neighbors, but it's by no means cramped. We would definitely stay here again."
May 28, 2014 - Mary C., League City, Texas

"Relax & live, nothing in life is perfect.
The pictures on the Internet does the house no justice. Once you see it you will be amazed. If I visit again I would request the same house. The view and the breeze will make you forget about work."
May 26, 2014 - Felton B., Scott, La.

"Fun stay
We enjoyed our visit.

Kitchen was well stocked with all items needed."
Apr 29, 2014 - Michelle N., Houston, Texas

"Weekend stay.
The house itself was clean and nice but a lot of the utensils were dirty. The Bar-B-Q pit needs to be replaced. Need instructions how to work the TV's in the bedrooms, we could not get them to work but the 1 in the family room worked. The house is at the end of a canal so the water does not move much and holds some trash. The outside decks are nice."

"Lighthouse July 4th
We had a great time in Galveston over the 4th of July. The lighthouse was a nice place to stay but there were a few things that need to be fixed. There was an odor in the kitchen area that at times became very bad and permeated in the living area. We called

the property manager but they were not able to do anything because of the holidays. They did offer to move us to a house in town but that would not have worked for us with the kids, so we masked the odor with some coffee grounds and baking soda. the only

other problem was the furniture in the patio area, most of it is dirty and rusted. The deck furniture was fine.

Overall we had a great time and hope the owner fixes the odor problem. "

"Lighthouse Review
The vacation home was great the only thing that cut it short from perfect was the fact that it was a little warm in the living room area! Other than that, GREAT!!"
Aug 30, 2012 - Julio R., Marshall, Texas

"LightHouse property, Galveston Island.
Great Location, Very Accommodating, excellent Vacation Rental! It was not In Town but it was Not far from town making it a great location with easy access to everyday needs. Beach access both in town and in Jamiaca Beach and Isla del Sol were just down the road in either direction. The neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful and the Canal access and Boat Dock were a big plus in this case."
