A three storied Vacation Villa, situated in a quiet community of beach homes, in
aid back CHICXULUB PUERTO, YUCATAN, MEXICO, a peaceful fishing
village on the north coast of YUCATAN on GULF of MEXICO.

Accommodation for 10 to 14 guests within a 5,500 sq-ft Villa.
FIVE bedrooms, six bath Villa, is just two lots from a sandy beach, with a
gradually sloping sea bed, ideal for children.
CastilloNicte Villa is well suited for couples, groups or families with children.
The Villa is tiled, tastefully furnished, with far more space, amenities, and
privacy than any hotel.
The Villa is self-catering, but housekeeping staff will be happy to help with your
chores of cooking and cleaning if requested.
Two queen sofa beds can boost sleeping accommodations to 14 guests.
Additionally, hammocks can provide optional and fun sleeping accommodation

The Villa is close to several MAYAN historical and archaeologically interesting
sites. IE. DZIBILCHALTUN twenty minutes, XCAMBO 30km.
CHICHEN ITZA, a World Heritage site, is a two hour drive.
Within an easy drive are the fascinating Mayan archaeological sites of
Acanceh and Mayapan.

MERIDA CITY: 20 miles south of Progreso, an older 1700's colonial town, with foreign embassies, fine old buildings and boulevards lined with colorful flowering trees. A bustling town center with open air markets, malls, museums, shops, plazas, night life and cultural activities. Lovely old theaters with adjacent restaurants or outside dining. Buses and taxis from Progreso are frequent and fun. The State of YUCATAN with many colonial towns, abounds with Mayan ruins, impressive remnants of this once vibrant civilization, such as CHITZEN ITZA, a 2 hours drive, UXMAL and CAMPECHE about 1 ½ hrs. DIZIBILCHALTUM is 20 minutes. All accessible by bus. CANCUN is 3 ½ hrs by toll road. The Mexican Riviera, with many attractions, extends 100 miles south of CANCUN. Roads are good. Central Plazas are the hub of life in all towns and interesting to observe. The town of CAMPECHE, built by the Spanish, has 6 old forts to explore, built to protect the town from marauding pirates. Explore also many early and grand Haciendas built in late 1800's, when fortunes were made processing and manufacturing sisal rope from Henekin cactus plants.
Things To Do:Yucatan, one of the top destinations in Mexico. 1, 500 year old Mayan archaeological sites/ruins abound on the Yucatan Peninsula. Castillonicte-ha vacation villa, is central to many of them. Chitzen Itza, Uxmal, Mayapan are about 2 hour drive from the villa. Dzibilchaltun is a 20 minute drive. Xtampu ruins. Yucatan’s capital city, Merida, has an historic town center with four theaters, lots of free shows, many charming restaurants and outdoor dining. it has a wonderful cathedral, the oldest on the N. American mainland. it is worth a visit, and is located in the main plaza where students congregate at night. there are many night clubs and activities all within a few blocks of the plaza. the Mayan museum and a wide variety of places to shop and dine make this wonderful treasure of a city worth a visit. folkloric dances and concerts take place during the week in the main plaza at 8pm Mondays, also Sunday noons. WHAT TO DO
Cenotes; were MAYAN sacred underground lakes and source of fresh water. Cenotes can be part of your day tour, deep into the Mayan jungle. Descend into caves and grotto's where you will find amazing stone formations and stalactites, and cool swimming pools. Swim in the cenotes lit by rays of sunshine that enters through holes in the roof. There are many many cenotes on the Yucatan Peninsula. Access to some, is by pony drawn carts on narrow gage rail tracks left over from the heydays of huge Hacienda farms that produced SISAL rope from cactus fiber.
Mayan ruins; the Villa is a great base from which to explore 1500-year-old MAYAN archaeological sites. DZIBILCHALTUN, twenty minutes, XCAMBO 30km, CHICHEN ITZA is a two-hour drive. Maps are in the Welcome folders of the Villa.
Take a horse buggy ride around the Central Plaza of colonial city of Merida. Here you will find the oldest cathedral in North America, and dozens of restaurants and tourist shopping areas.
