Your Palm Coast beach house will put you minutes from Atlantic Ocean beaches, like Flagler Beach. This pristine coquina sand beach stretches for almost 20 miles, and the waves here are excellent. You can rent surf equipment from local shops and even take lessons for any skill level, whether you are a beginner or just looking to improve your form. And if you want to watch the pros ride the waves, you're in luck; the Tommy Tant Memorial Surf Competition is held here each fall.surfing at sunset In the winter (December through March) Right Whales migrate here to give birth and nurse their young. They come in close to the shore, and you are likely to see mothers with their calves, and even juveniles playing in the waves.
May through October is sea turtle season, so you are likely to see some of the five species of sea turtles that come ashore to nest in Palm Coast. The Flagler Turtle Patrol combs the beaches every morning to check on the turtle nests, and you are welcome to come along and observe. Remember, though, that it is against the law disturb nesting sea turtles and hatchlings, so don't touch! And while you're in residence at a Palm Coast beach house, you can help protect the sea turtles by picking up any trash you see, remembering to remove your chairs and beach gear overnight, and leveling the sand by flattening sand castles and filling holes.

If you've never had the pleasure of visiting a linear park, you're in for a treat when you visit the St. Joe Walkway/Palm Coast Linear Park. Walking and biking trails connect parkland, picnic areas, and playgrounds over a length of four miles. This park allows for the perfect blend of exercise and relaxation-jog or walk the trails, then kick back and enjoy the scenery or play a game of bocce ball. Washington Oaks Garden State Park is another visitor favorite, featuring a walking path where you will see lots of flora and fauna, especially the heritage oaks that give the park its name. The park also has a rose garden, acres of idyllic landscaping, and a riverfront park for picnicking or fishing. Golfing is another popular outdoor pastime in Palm Coast, and there are eight courses to explore.
