"Our Maui Home away from Home
This is our 6th visit to Hale Kai. We have stayed in multiple units and this is our second time in #119. Everything was perfect on check-in. Clean unit, comfy bed, well stocked kitchen and nice lanai furniture. Melody and Valerie were super helpful in the office. We were able to borrow another absorbent door mat when Maui decided to pour down heavy rains for several days in a row. Loved the laundry room with Wash Connect app to use instead of quarters. Always an enjoyable time at Hale Kai! So many restaurants in walkable distance. See you next year!"

"Relaxing Stay
We debated coming when the Governor asked people to limit travel, but we were easily able to distance from other guests and everyone was very respectful with masks when appropriate at the grocery store or ABC Market.
The grounds and beach were beautiful and so easy to access. A family of turtles even was staying on the reef just past the pool.
We can't wait to visit again."

We have been staying at Hale Kai since it was first built in 1965. Owners for many years. Why would anyone stay anywhere else. We are steps from the beach. Only go out to eat. "

"A Perfect Place to Stay on Maui
The location could not be better. We loved having the main floor location as we could access the pool, bbq grills and the beach easily. The condo was perfectly clean and well outfitted for our stay. Should we ever return to Maui, Hale Kai will be our first reservation!"

"WONDERFUL LOCATION - UNIT 119 see ocean plus pool & BBQ
WOW! Best ever....LOVED our unit #119. it was very NICELY and TASTEFULLY decorated. Came complete with so many kitchen items plus spices. Walk-in shower was lovely but it could have used HANDICAP GRAB BAR for safety! Owner should install one long bar ASAP as tile gets very slippery when wet. the set up was quite nice and even the patio furniture was very comfy. The location of this particular unit was so nice to see pool activity plus ocean and have communal BBQ area close, but not in one's face. ONLY ONE COMPLAINT from US - that being we were unaware that to locate the street named LOWER HONOAPIILANI ROAD, that Hale Kai Condos are located on , that we street sign is only lableled 'L HONOAPIILANI Road" This may sound MINOR but I kept driving and went 5 miles out of our way to turn onto a street that was CLEARLY LABELED LOWER HONOAPIILANI ROAD and it ended up being a DEAD END to Fletcher Beach! Need a bit better more clear and IDIOT proof directions to the condo. ANOTHER SERIOUS COMPLAINT comes from our daughter who rented UNIT #120. They had over 7 HUGE **** ROACHES in their UNIT. YUCK! We had NONE in ours that we saw. UNIT #120 needs to be sprayed ASAP which I fear could bring insects into #119. But during our stay we had NONE. "

We would happily stay again at Hale Kai. Our condo was on the main floor across from the pool and looking out at the ocean.....beautiful! The unit, the pool, the barbecues--everything was clean and inviting. Valerie (I hope I remember her name correctly!) was extremely pleasant and helpful. "

"Fantastic Place
I love staying at Hale Kai; it's more remote, so you have a chance to interact with the locals, but it's also not far from downtown Lahaina, where you can get into the hustle and bustle. Every unit I've stayed in has been clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. The other residents are kind, and the pool and its proximity to the beach is perfect. Highly recommend!"

"I'd pass on Hale Kai
Just stayed there for the last time. The place is run down more and more each time we go with things breaking or not being fixed timely for our important vacation. They shouldn't depend on the vacationers to do their inspection of the condos. Also, The staff doesn't understand well enough that the customer is right. Attitude is not a way to respond to the customer when something is brought to their attention. Then they get mad at you for raising concerns on upkeep of the place. Bbqs don't work properly.
I highly suggest you pass on this place."

"Honu Heaven
Daily visits by several green sea turtles is just one of the perks of staying at the Hale Kai. We have stayed in unit 119 four years in a row now and will return. Owners care for the needs of guests by constantly adding little touches and upgrades (new curtains, bedroom tv and wifi the highlights this year). Hale Kai management is friendly and attentive. New deck furniture this year keeps the small pool area a popular area for meeting new friends, relaxing or watching for whales, dolphins and turtles. Could go on but suffice to say it is a wonderful place."

"I turned 65 in Maui
We had a great time as usual, 119 is very comfortable, kitchen could use salad spinner, whip for mixing, and another large fry pan for stir fry. The sprinklers are on every night for far to long, grass turns to mud. Other than that will stay again."

"West Maui Condo
We stayed in Hale Kai 6 nights. It had been at least 10 years since we had stayed on Maui, and we couldn't believe the traffic. Lucky for us Hale Kai is located near some of the best beaches on the island and we didn't have to go through Lahaina to get to them. We stayed in unit #119 - a ground unit - and everything was clean and as advertised. We wished we could have been able to exchange our beach towels at least once during the week - they were heavily used and while we received an extra set of bath towels we were not able to exchange our beach towels. We spent most of our time exploring the island and very little time in our unit but we found all of our fellow guests to be quite friendly (especially at 6pm happy hour/conch shell time!)"

"Fabulous location
we were very pleased with the location of our condo. loved being on the beach and in west Maui. The turtle feeding grounds and beach basking made it spectacular. The only thing about our condo was the freezer was not working. We did notify the office manager and were given options of possibly using a freezer in another unit or some such thing. that seemed to not be a good idea. we did not have a cooler and were not offered one. all we really wanted (for the most part) was ice. we did purchase ice cream etc that went bad and all the ice melted into the frig. grounds and caretakers were wonderful. just a freezer or cooler would have been nice."

"Always Great
We stayed in two units this time; one that faced the park and one the pool. Each was a slightly different experience. The one by the park was much quieter in spite of being by the park, and the one on the first floor by the pool was less private and a bit noisier, buy both were very pleasant. This is the third time we've stayed at Hale Kai--once for six weeks, and we enjoy the proximity of the pool and the little beach next to the units. Having the new BBQ grills nearby and the clean laundry room are also a plus. We always leave Maui relaxed and grateful that we stayed at the Hale Kai (we have stayed at the Hyatt, Westin and Sheraton before, but this is our favorite when it is available. "

"Maui 2016
Our trip to Maui was great, & the stay @ Hale Kai was wonderful. We really enjoyed the beautiful ocean view, & being on the main level was great for quick access to the ocean, pool, & BBQ. The parking lot connected to condo was a little loud throughout the evening sometimes.
Maui was very pretty & the people were friendly. We enjoyed touring around the island & checking out such things as the national park (being 10,000ft above sea level was a very breath-taking experience), blow-hole & dragons tooth were a good spectacle as well. It was a very great trip & we will probably return again... :-)"

My husband and I are lucky enough to visit Maui most summers and we always stay at Hale Kai. We have not stayed in unit #119 in a few years and it has been updated beautifully. Easy access to the pool, grills and beach from unit. Highly recommend Hale Kai. "

We love this place! Well located and right on the ocean. No need to go out on a tour to see turtles, they come up on the reef right in front.Everyone is friendly and helpful. Good coffee across the road and a Farmers Market. Our tip fly in to Kapalua, the airport is very close to Hale Kai."

We enjoy Unit 19 and our trip to Maui. Unit 19 is very comfortable and we enjoy being able to step out and watch the bobbing turtles. I think the picture showed here is taken from Unit 119! It's a beautiful view of Molakai."

Loved the unit. This year had three adults and were very comfortable. The location to the pool and beach was perfect but missing some basics like no salt (left some) and nothing to cover leftovers like saran wrap etc. Must admit I hate the stove top and convection oven but did like the addition of the microwave. I would recommend this unit to anyone."

We felt so comfortable at our condo, just so much positives were there that it felt like home. Being that close to the pool, and the beach, able to walk right out off the Lanai and down 4 steps to go snorkeling! Loved the low lights and CD player at night to enjoy a cozy feeling of home. Laundry facility was right there, and within walking distance of all your needs. The family park next door was ideal for our grandkids too. We defiantly want to come back to stay. Highly recommend Hale Kai #119"
