"Fantastic!
Probably the best 3BR rental on the resort. Fully stocked kitchen with beautiful dishes and plentiful cooking essentials. The artwork is colorful and furnishings top grade. The location and view is spectacular. Comfortably accommodates 10 people. Highly recommend!"

"Peaceful Place!
First vacation since 2020 was a peaceful and beautiful experience.Only a 2 hour flight to a sand beach with water like you find on a Caribbean island. Rum Bay Restaurant was our daily "go to" for lunch and dinner.....great food and service! Only left the island for the wedding at Coral Creek and lunch at the Pink Elephant in Boca Grande. Can't wait to do it again!"

beautiful condo with great views. Walk right to the beach and all the amenities. "

"A Tale of Two Trip
March 1-8, 2023: The first 3 days we suffered with “red tide”, a toxic algae bloom that killed hundreds of fish which lifted the beach and forced us to wear Covid masks on the beach to minimize the continual coughing. We were not informed of the presence of this situation in advance of our arrival.
The last 3 days were much better due to a change in wind direction. The condo we rented was fine, but did not provide beach towels. The constant sound of repairs of the damage from hurricane Ian last September was annoying but not unbearable. Palm Island is still the best place we know for a quiet, relaxing vacation. We will return."

"Guest room a3111a
Overall good experience, room nice but needs new furniture
Beach access was good along with a nice pool
Gulf carts are old and need maintenance maybe replaced
Coconuts was convenient but very expensive
Rum restaurant food okay but I was charged for a dinner that wasn’t mind and when I called no one was willing to help me get corrected"

"A tropical oasis!!!
This was our first time to Palm Island, the grounds are gorgeous and lush, the wildlife was super and we loved the natural state of the dunes and beach. The shells are of abundance I never had so many choose from I took 3 ziplock bags home ;) The restaurant on the ground was really good food. We took the water taxi over, was a relaxing short trip, Our villa was clean & was in a great spot on the island. I would recommend updating the living furniture and bar stools all were worn pretty hard, the fabric on the living room chairs had worn holes in them and didn’t look very clean along with throw pillows. Other than that we loved the porch it was quiet and relaxing:) Renting a golf cart is a must so fun!! Will definitely recommend to our friends for a tropical island experience!!"

"Beautiful Island Escape
Loved our Palm Island Resort stay. The serenity and peacefulness along with the beautiful natural habitat was very welcoming. Our one bedroom unit has a fantastic location to everything, although the unit itself was somewhat underwhelming. Some upgrades had been done. The bathroom needed a new shower & toilet, very old. Also, all furniture was very old & uncomfortable, even on lanai. If more upgrades were made, we may stay again in the future. "

"An Anniversary and Birthday Celebration!
We LOVED the island. Our 1 bedroom Villa was PERFECT, full ocean view, walk to beach. Perfect for my man and me. We LOVED this unit. Comfortable/Quiet and cozy. We spent most of our time on the porch!Thank you to the Island team and unit owners. We hope to be blessed enough to RETURN!! The crew at Palm Island are fantastic."

Amazing location and great staff."

"Sadly what may be my last visit after 15 years to Palm Island
It was supposed to have been remodeled but all that was different was new flooring. The furniture had new coverings but we’re very soft and worn out underneath. They still had this horrible fish hanging from the wall and generally the place looked dark and dingy. And yet I paid for a deluxe unit.
And even though I asked before coming if the pool was open, I found it closed for repairs and no one could clearly tell me which pool to use instead. Very disappointing!"

"Great view, Unit needs updating
One bedroom rental with a great view! The unit desperately needs updating but we didn’t spend much time in it except to sleep. We were able to enjoy Memorial Day weekend at Palm Island which was the whole point! The unit was surface clean thanks to the great housekeeping staff however carpet, bed, pillows and furniture need to all be replaced by owner. "

"April
Great location and peaceful. We would have liked more towels to have been provided and limited beach recliners were available although we were able to access them "
May 01, 2021 - , Hopkinton, Massachusetts

"Great view
We’ve been staying on the island a few times a year for almost 20 years. The office staff and bell stand folks are top notch as well as the restaurant and coconuts crew. Hard workers all of them yet still friendly and courteous even as crowded as it was this weekend.. This was our first time in this particular villa (there are only 2 standard one bedroom villas and this one is newly on the list). This one is a little more dated than the other one but it has a better view since it’s closer to the water. I’d definitely stay here again - we love it. "
Apr 20, 2021 - Maureen B., Clearwater, FL

"A little dated, but great view
This condo is in serious need of an update, but everything worked and the view from the deck was great. It was close to the walkway to the beach and in a quiet location away from the pools and grills."
Jan 04, 2021 - , Loveland, OH

"Always amazing
Though the villa had the most amazing view, I asked to be moved to another villa due to a guest smoking in the villa. The staff quickly accompanied me and the rest of my stay was the beautiful experience I expected. Thank you housekeeping, bellmen and front office staff.
Dinners were amazing at Rum Bay. Being by myself, I felt very comfortable thanks to the bartenders each time. I also ordered pizza that was yummy and had coffe from coconut and she was very pleasant.
I can’t say enough good things. I’ll be back as soon as I can!"

"Beautiful
Defiantly a new experience! Loved the private island feel and quiet sandy beach with beautiful waters. The grounds were immaculate and all the staff was helpful and friendly. Our views from our unit was spectacular with beautiful sunsets over the ocean. Unit was clean with what looks to have been new carpet recently put it, but kitchen and bath are in major need of updating. I don"t mind older, I find somethings retro even interesting but there was just things that were not even functioning properly. The worst was the refrigerator with the missing shelves and bars on inside doors to hold things in, but the rust on fridge that would sweat from humidity and drip was borderline gross at times. They did come in to measure for a new one so hopefully that is a start of things needing to be updated. Pool was warm and very large with plenty of room for everyone. My husband and I enjoyed our stay extremely, we would defiantly go back but would maybe check on unit first or stay in another one!"

"Sun, sand and shells!
The Island was delightful, would visit again, however I would not stay in the same condo. The air handler rattled every time the air came on and maintenance said it couldn't be fixed. The vent covering in the bathroom was laying on the counter, the refrigerator was rusted and water dripped from the freezer door. Unit needs TLC and an update. Lanai was great and exterior looked fine. "
Feb 18, 2020 - Susan S., Tampa, FL

"Paradise!!
We had the best time. Driving the boat from our house to the island was a great little get away. We are already planning our next stay."

"So Beautiful & Private, I almost don't want to tell anyone !
From the moment we drove up to get on the initial Ferry Ride over (a very, very short & fun ferry ride) to the time we took the Ferry back after our stay, we had an exceptionally BEAUTIFUL & AMAZING time. This was a short STAY-CATION for us (just 2 nights), however we filled every second we could of it! All the Staff of Palm Island were friendly, professional and eager to please. Be sure to spend the $50 for a Golf Cart! It's worth it. Everyone waves at each other on the Island. It's clean,...full of swaying palm trees, luscious landscaping, tropical shrubs and flowers,..and you might even get a glimpse of a Gopher Turtle! The homes, townhomes and Villas situated on the Ocean are breathtaking! Our Unit A311B was a little "dated", however, everything worked, it was clean and well stocked with whatever would need for a comfortable stay. THE VIEW WAS TO DIE FOR! And you are literally just steps to sugar white beach sands, Sea abundance of SEASHELLS,..and opportunities to see all kinds of Birds and Dolphins feeding close to the shoreline. COCONUTS is a very well-stocked store for anything you might need,..and the RUM BAY has great food and cool drinks! (Be sure to see CJ at the bar, for your own Malibu Rum Bucket!) I did see "some kids" there,..but I'll be honest, this is really an adult scene, in my opinion. (not a bad thing!) The Pool area is really nice,....and in general,..this RESORT it extremely well maintained. Will we return -- you can bet your beach towel on it! "

"A weekend I long to relive
My husband and I stayed here during our friends wedding held at the resort. Mary Ann was an amazing cordinator. She was always available for my friend and has such a sweet demeanor. She truly cared. Needless to say the rehearsal dinner, s’mores after party, and wedding went smoothly and was a ton of fun! My husband and I stayed an additional day after and spent it looking for shells and sharks teeth by the ocean and relaxing at the pool. I would recommend getting the golf cart. It was convenient to go whenever and wherever we needed. The villa was perfect and I loved being able to walk out the back porch and down the path to the beach. We spent every evening out there. I can’t wait to go back and have already encouraged many people to go spend a weekend. You won’t regret it. "

"Great location, tired unit, decent value
We stay in Unit 3111 for three nights. The unit is right on the beach with a nice view. We came by boat and the docking facilities were average. Not much room for anything over 30'. The room had a strong insecticide smell when we arrived (which lingered all three days). It's a good thing it was sprayed because we were greeted by a dying roach in the bedroom when we first arrived. Facilities on the Island are limited, but there's easy access to get off by ferry. I'd recommend the resort as a short getaway, but the unit needed major updating. "
May 22, 2019 - , Saint Petersburg, FL

"Delightful getaway and magical location
Great place to stay having been to Palm Island on several occasions. The staff are extremely pleasant and accommodating. The villa location superb."
Apr 17, 2019 - Harry L., Rugby

"uncomfortable
pillows need to be replace...stool covers in sad shape and chairs in living room very uncomfortable. needs overall updating. I was able to see other units that were so much nicer!! I figured it was because we were in a one bedroom unit. also smelled musty when we first got there. loved the area and would come back but I would make sure I did not get the same unit."

"Lovely and relaxing
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the resort. It was a wonderful venue for a wedding"
Nov 16, 2018 - , Saint Marys, GA

"Gorgeous view & great location within the resort!
We absolutely loved our stay at Palm Island Resort! Our only regret is not staying longer. We had never even heard of Palm Island Resort, but we were invited to a wedding being held on the island. We only booked a couple nights for the wedding weekend, and we really wish we would've booked even more! The views from all of the villas were incredible, and the pools, rooms, and beach were all very clean and well-maintained. All of the workers we encountered were extremely friendly and accommodating. Our particular villa was right next to a walkway to the beach, so we had a short walk to the water. It was so nice to wake up & walk to the beach in our pjs to watch the sunrise one morning haha! We will absolutely be returning for a longer stay someday. We already cannot wait to go back!"
Nov 06, 2018 - Kim D., Holland, MI

"Typical August stay except for the Red Tide and dead sea life.
The accommodations were as expected. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Because of the Red Tide, anyone with breathing problems should avoid areas where the Red Tide is present. "
Aug 21, 2018 - Albert H., Zephyr Cove, NV

"Awesome view, best location!
Unit 31 has the best location. No golf cart road between you and the beach. "
May 25, 2018 - , Grayslake, IL

"Great weekend, bad condo
This is our 4th time at the resort, twice in larger units with another family and twice in one bedroom units with our family. Unit 3111 needs an update. Stained carpet, rusty refrigerator, laminate counter tops, plastic shower insert to name a few things. Wifi password would be nice as well. We always have a great time. The new tennis courts were great and the restaurant was good. Very disappointed in the room. "
Apr 17, 2018 - Michael S., Sarasota, Fl

"Great stay, Staff was outstanding!
First time here and it was just what we wanted. Place was very private and you could enjoy the serene beauty in peace and quiet. The unit had everything you need, and it allowed us to enjoy the island. The staff was outstanding. From the front desk people (Marty and her co-worker from Maine) to the bellman and support staff. In particular Joey was very friendly and extremely helpful. He gets my vote for employee of the month for April!

We had a great time and looking forward to returning to your lovely island."
Apr 03, 2018 - JOSEPH R., Bradenton, FL

"Awesome anniversary celebration
I was offered a deal that just happened to fall within my anniversary date. I surprised my husband with a 2 day vaca that turned into an extra day! Staff was extremely helpful & the extras in this deal were fanaminal!"
Dec 07, 2017 - Victoria M., TAMPA, FL

"Fall get away
Palm island is my favorite place to visit and this is the first time we have gone in November and the first time we stayed in a one bedroom villa. The weather was beautiful for November and it was warm enough that you could get in the water but not so hot that you had to get in the water. I was a little disappointed in the size of the one bedroom villa. It was not as spacious and open as the larger villas and the appliances and cabinets were dated. That being said it was clean and it will not keep me for going back again. As I said it is my favorite place."

"A Relaxing Weekend
The property was older and in need of an update (dated kitchen and appliances and dryer required 3 cycles for cloths to be dried). But, for an older property it was very well maintained. My wife and 2 year old son had a very relaxing weekend!"

Lovely: quiet, fun, scenic,easy!
Resort was clean, accessible, pretty not too big
Weather was perfect-that prob helped!"

"Quick Get Away
It was a beautiful place but not quiet like I expected. Upstairs units need carpeting as it was very noisy when they just walked across the room. Our room was clean and comfortable. And the shells on the beach were spectacular.
I would recommend this vacation but not this unit unless no one was upstairs."

Way over priced! Price gouging from the Ferry ride to the golf cart rental. Service was so so. Restaurant food below average."

This was a nice area for us to explore, as we are only 1 1/2 hrs. away. Very relaxing, and low-key. Beach was great! Returned very distressed!"

"Amazing property and staff,
From the minute you arrive until departure, enjoyed every minute, rain or shine, great location, could not ask for a better costumer service, villa at great location, clean and well kept. The food in the restaurant fabulas, drinks....yummy!

"Beautiful Villa
We were the first to arrive in our party of 60(wedding party) and they seemed to be very understaffed. When we tried to rent a golf cart, we were dropped off by the bellman at the golf cart rental facility and he just left us there with no way to get back and no way to navigate the island (they closed early that day). Luckily I was able to call the front desk and ask for the bellman to come back and pick us up. It was made very clear that everyone was trying to leave early for the day and that we were holding them up from that. We were also told that "some of the units have wifi" and specifically requested that we have wifi. Upon arriving, none of the units have wifi, no matter what they tell you. We took up most of the island with our party and there was no wifi except at Coconuts, which as I mentioned, closes whenever they feel like it! If you are the type who needs to respond to work emails, you should make other arrangements ahead of time. We were asked repeatedly by the same staff members if we were "actually staying on the island" (implying that we were just bumming on their beach). We tried to call the front desk over and over several times and no one was answering, and when they did, they seemed put out with our questions. One of the pools, several villas, and the main reception area were under construction, which the bride was not informed of when we all booked. Finally, by the last day (during the check out process, oddly enough), everyone seemed suddenly concerned with how our stay was. Thankfully, we are pretty laid back people, but for the amount of money we paid to be here a week, there were definitely people in our party who were not pleased. Our villa, however, was gorgeous and in a prime location. The wedding planners did an awesome job coordinating everyone and making sure the event went smoothly. Overall, I give this resort a 4 star rating only because we were neglected by staff."

"Isolated in Paradise
Our first visit was an experience we will talk about for a long long time. From the first minute we walked around with our mouths open in amazement. Too much for words. It is a must see and even more a must experience."

"The BEST place to RELAX!!
We LOVE coming to Palm Island Resort every year. The property is clean and well kept. Going to the pool after a day at the beach is a refreshing ending. Grilling out every night on the grill provided is perfect.
Our unit could use some updating but was very comfortable. "

"Great location!!!
This was our third trip to Palm Island and our first time staying in a two bedroom unit. The unit was very clean and had everything we needed. We loved the large porch overlooking the ocean. It was the perfect place to eat breakfast and dinner!

The master bathroom toilet was leaking all over the floor when we checked in but maintenance took care of the problem quickly. For a mid-level unit, I would definitely recommend this one."

Palm Island Resort is a very beautiful place. If you are looking to just relax and get away from it all, this is the place."

"Weekend Stay
The view from the villa was amazing and the island was very charming. I ate at the Rum Bay restaurant during my stay and really enjoyed it. I was only there for a few days so I did not get a chance to experience everything on the island. The only thing I wasn't as impressed with was the villa itself. While it was fairly nice it was very outdated. I know they are all owned independently so I guess that is to be expected. It definitely needed a good cleaning though. Overall I was satisfied with my stay on the island."

"Living in the "Land of Yes"!
Special thanks to Debbie Curtis who thoughtfully surprised my "birthday boy husband" with a ribbon bedecked bottle of wine that we thoroughly enjoyed. (Left the bottle opener on the dining room table.) The location of 3111 was perfect, the view spectacular. However, ALL appliances need to be replaced! Kitchen is sparsely equipped, bed linens - including mattress cover - are despicable, carpeting has sharp objects embedded in certain areas, and the bathroom really should have a 21st century toilet installed. The disappointment to me was that when we decided to make a quick trip to New York and Boston and I called Marti to move our rental from the 5th of August to the 6th, she commented that would be fine and that I would then have a much nicer condo that would be available from the 6th to the 8th. I've lived here since 1974 and have spent many get-away vacations on Boca Grande (owned a condo on Manasota Key), but had never visited Palm Island, even though friends (Mike & Lorraine Grant, Lane & Melinda Dietrich, et al) have recommended it to me many times. We'll be back, but hope to have better accommodations. The entire staff is to be complimented for its genuine friendliness and assistance. Sincerely, Kathy Strayton
P.,S,
Incidentally, we left the condo in immaculate condition. "

My 14th visit to Palm Island, and will return."

"A Quiet Getaway
The resort is a tranquil, tropical retreat. I would recommend requesting a top floor unit. There is little to no insulation between floors and simply walking around is loud. Also, the staff at the golf cart rental/island store help but aren't terribly happy to be there. "

"Great vacation Spot
Condo pleasant. "

"Rain Rain and more Rain
Overall our stay was good, but the weather was terrible. However, I understand the resort has no control of that. The room was a bit dated but had the weather been better I probably wouldnt have been in the room so much. Ideally it would be nice if there was some other food option too. The water taxi wasnt running so our only restaurant option was Rum Bay. It would have been nice to have another option, but again this probably wouldnt have been an issue had the weather been better. All and all our stay was good though, the staff was very friendly and the area is beautiful. I would love to experience the resort with some better weather. Im sure it would have been amazing. The beautiful weather came our just in time for us to leave on Sunday. "

"if you are new to Florida.......
This is the most amazing, quiet, laidback, friendly place. Only pedestrians ,bikes and golf carts allowed. Everything was amazing. Just a HUGE note: Florida has "no-see-um" bugs. Make sure you are covered in bug spray with deet...or skin so soft to keep them away. They are vicious biters and the itch and sting is worse than poison ivy and lasts two weeks. So....the bugs were our only con to the no fault of the resort. I would highly recommend the sunset cruise with Capt Kelly. Seeing the dolphins swim up to the boat was amazing along with learning so much about the area and wildlife. We will definitely be returning to PALM ISLAND RESORT, hopefully in the near future."

"Love Palm Island Resort!
We absolutely loved the resort (beautiful location, very charming all around) and the staff...everyone was very professional, kind and helpful and we would love to return someday soon. The only reason I gave 4 stars for the property's general condition was that the ceiling fan was broken in the lanai and our bathtub seemed to be slightly plugged as the water would build up during your shower. We did not say anything to the management about that as I'm sure they would have fixed it immediately and we probably should have so it wasn't a true negative. We did call about the fan (as we spent a lot of time on the lanai) and the maintenance person was very kind, but wasn't able to repair the fan at that time as I believe it was more involved. He offered to have that happen, but we were only there for a short time and wanted to enjoy our privacy so we said it could wait until after our stay. "

"A Piece of Paradise
It is definitely one of Florida's best kept secrets. The views are breathtaking. Although the furniture was a bit outdated, the villa was clean and crisp. It had everything we needed; we only had to bring clothes, food and ourselves. We would definitely stay again."
Sep 10, 2013 - Liz S., Jacksonville, FL

"Great getaway and introduced friends to Palm Island
Came back to Palm Island Resort needing a nice, relaxing getaway, knowing we could get one here. Also, brought along friends to introduce them to the Palm Island "lifestyle". The resort never fails to satisfy. The villas were inviting and comfortable, the golf carts fun to explore in, and the pool and beach were relief from the Florida summer heat. The resort staff is friendly and accommodating. It has been over thirty years since our first stay here, and many since, and the experience remains consistent. We will return - in fact, we've already booked our next stay! "

"Super Private!!
The only down side about our stay was wading thru a foot of water to get to the beach, but Palm Island can't be faulted for that :)"

"Paradise
Second visit to the Island. It was amazing. Can't wait to return, probably in August. I can't get enough of the beautiful setting."

"a hidden gem!
Our condo had a great view of the ocean and we were close to the pool. we loved the kayaks, and ridding around looking at the near by homes via our gulf cart. The only negative thing we have to say is that we were staying in the bottom unit and did not like hearing the people in the unit above walking around over our heads."

"I just wished there was a little bit better breakfast.
We love Don Pedro Island/Palm Island and plan to return often."

"Quiet place to relax!
The only reason for the four star rating on the villa was due to the date interior. I under they are privately owned and it is up to the owner to update. Overall the place was fantastic public areas were clean. Nice private beach for getting away. See you all again soon!"

"Palm Island experience
A relaxing get away to an island retreat with beautiful ocean front views"
Aug 19, 2012 - Daniel H., Palmeto, FL

"Beach Pairadice
Great view, beautiful beaches, the gulf, kayaking, fishing, the pool, the restaurants and staff were dandy. the bikes were a little long in the your own. lots to do every day and nothing to do, if you want. very limited internet access...Ya...bring your tennis racket if you want to spend any serious time on the net. "
Aug 15, 2012 - Steven N., Valredo, FL

"Beach Villa 3111
The condo was very dirty. Dirty, old and stained bed sheets. Black mold on shower curtain. Air conditioning vents full of dust. The furniture and appliances were old and worn. We stayed on the first floor and could hear everything noise coming from the second floor. The resort itself was nice but the condo was terrible. "

Amazing!!"

"Frequent Visitor
Overall I enjoyed my stay as usual. However the Beach Villa I stayed in was not very clean and the appliances need to be replaced. I was somewhat disappointed with the staff at Rum Bay, they were not as friendly as in past visits."
Jul 14, 2012 - Kenneth P., Sarasota, FL

"Pluses and Minuses
The property and the villas are beautiful. The checkin experience was sloppy. I was given someone else's invoice originally to sign which I knew was several hundred dollars more expensive than mine should be and I was originally told I was mistaken. It took a while but they eventually figured it out. Same issue when the rehearsal dinner was moved on Friday night. I went to the designated venue. Nobody was there. I inquired at the office; they said I was wrong and the venue would not have been changed without them knowing it. Since the resort was catering it, I asked them to check where the food had been delivered and then they realized the event had been moved. There were several other occurrences of unprofessional behavior. I travel a lot internationally on business and this place definitely does not give the Ritz a run for its money."

"Getaway to Palm Island
We had a wonderful relaxing stay on Palm Island. Our villa was very "homey" and comfortable, and we enjoyed the ocean view. We enjoyed the food at the Rum Bay Restaurant and hope we can return soon.

"Palm Island
Overall, it was a neat place to go to. Just wished it was not raining all day :) The actual unit could use some updating, but was sufficient for an overnight stay. Great place to escape daily life and have some fun!"

"Palm island paradise!

"Beware of Red Tide & Runaway Canoes!
Arrived at the peak of Red Tide. Dead fish littered the beach and the stench was enough to invoke the gag reflex. Canoe rentals: Call ahead and make sure they are available. Apparently they had not been secured during some storm before we arrived so they blew away and sank. Management office only open until 8:00PM so beware if you arrive late. Sand Spurs were EVERYWHERE. We had to vacuum the villa twice to get rid of the ones tracked in from outside. The villa was infested with sand fleas which were very active at night, as indicated by the bites all over my 2yr daughter. "

Very relaxing place to stay."

"Love, Love, Love this place!
Our friends got married on the island. Our experience started when we made our reservations. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Once we were there, the atmosphere made you feel wonderful. Accomodations made you feel at home. The wedding and reception were beautiful, the staff again were great. Hated to leave.... just an amazing place!!"

"OK but not the best
the decorating was terrible, the lock on the sliding door was broken so there was no lock in the back, there was mold on the shower curtain and the garbage disposal did not work. This was a second choice as the one I love and have stayed in for many years
is no longer being rented."

"Palm Island getaway
The resort is beautiful, the beaches are pristine, the views were terrific. However, the inside of the Villas are dated and the furniture is old and dusty.
It is not senior or handicap accessible.
The stairs at the villas can be challenging and walking to the beach difficult and far to walk on the soft sand. You need a beach umbrella for some sun protection. MARTY AT THE RESERVATION DESK AND DUSTIN IN COCONUTS WERE ESPECIALLY HELPFUL. DUSTIN HAD TO WEAR MANY HATS-MAKE THE WINE BASKET, RENT THE GOLF CART, RENT THE KAYAK AND HE HAD A GREAT ATTITUDE AND WOULDN'T TAKE A TIP. We were disappointed (except for the dessert) with the food at Rum Bay."

"Quiet Time
We had a lovely stay the unit was older but clean over all. Excellent view. The rental equipment is horrible! We had Kayak rental included in the cost of our package but they only have 2 single kayaks one had a broken back rest and one double kayak which also one back rest was broken, you can't kayak without a back rest. The ores for the Kayak were also broken. The bicycle rentals, picnic basket we not much better. Palm Island is really beautiful but they must maintain the rental equipment and they should have more than just 2 individual and 1 double Kayak with all the units they have in the resort. "

"Always good a good time at Palm Island
We have been going to Palm Island off and on for about 25 years and have always had a good time. Some of the units are better equiped than others but in general, they all have just about everything you will need to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable."

"You can never be disappointed when vacationing at Palm Island. The unit we stayed in was nice but dated, carpets had some wear/required spot cleaning. King mattress is in need of an upgrade. Gulf view priceless!

"My family has been going to Palm Island for many years. We have celebrated my parent 50th, 55th, 60th and 65th Anniversaries and we hope to celebrate their 70th which is next year. My family loves this place!
This is a great condo since the walkway is right in the back of the condo and the pool is next to the building. It is also close to the restaurant. I am returning next month. "

"Last Minute Getaway
My wife and I decided at the last minute to make arrangements. I called while on the road on Saturday morning and spoke with Marty to see if they was an available one bedroom ocean view villa. By 2:00 PM we were on the island walking the beach and by 3:30 we were in our room. Everything was perfect. We love it so much we bought a gift certificate for my son as a wedding present so he can enjoy a week's stay during the summer. "

"Pleasant stay at Palm Island
Beautiful and breathtaking views, beach & landscaping. The complementary boat ride to and from Johnny Leverocks was fantastic and we even saw dolphins up close! Food was tasty and top notch service at Leverocks. Great experience all around & we look forward to staying again next year."

"terrible bed and no internet
the bed was terrible. Harder than a rock. we tried to sleep on the fold out couch, again not recommended. View was beautiful. very peaceful and quiet. should have wireless internet for the resort. had to go to two locations to check email. not what I expect in a resort. heated pool was not heated. I left early."

"
We spent 3 nights and found the unit noisy from the residents above us especially at 3:30 in the morning. Sounded like a herd of elephants. Restaurant was fabulous but we found 3 deays more than enough. It's a great place if all you want to do is sit and read but there isn't much else to do unless you fish or kayak."

"Repeat offender
We have been yearly guests now at the Resort for about 6yrs. Each time we stayl, it is absolutely DEVINE. However, if I could make one recommendation it would be to add pix to the website. That way, guests would have the luxury of chosing the decor that would best fit their liking. Also, if there could be better choices as to the accomodations in the 2nd bedroom. My mother comes with us each year, and a twin bed is not as comfortable as maybe a double bed might be. Other than those very fixable accomodations, I would recemmend this resort to anyone with the desire to rest, relax and enjoy the serenity of Palm Island Resort. Most of all, Bobby in the reservation office deserves a round of applause. She is absolutley a joy to work with. She was extremely accomodating during our stay, with a smile on her face to boot. Love her!!!!!"

"Get away
We have been coming for over 20 years our kids have grown up there we have even gotten to know some of the locals. But this year the unit was by far the dirtiess and the oldest nothing updated. The bed was absolutley the worse mattress we have ever encountered. When you spend 300. a night that is equal to any 4 or 5 star hotel two things you should not have to worry about. Clean and updated unit and a decent bed to sleep on. We live on clearwater beach, so the view wasn't what we were coming for, rest and time away. Not sure we will attempt to come back!!"

"Vacation on Palm Island Resort
The Resort was beautiful and peaceful. We really enjoyed it. The weather could of been better, we had some of the bands of Hurricane Gustaf and the weather was wild. I will go back again and hopefully the weather will be much better. Our unit was very nice and we had a wonderful view of the ocean. If you want to get away from the hustle & bustle of everyday life, this is a must to go and stay."

We've been coming to Palm Island for the better part of 10 years, and it's always the best part of my year. Everything is just like it was when I was a kid, which is incredible. Everyone is friendly and happy, from the bellman that took our bags to the kid renting golfcarts at coconuts...a rare find these days. The beach was great as always. Thanks for another wonderful trip, we'll see ya next year! "

"Nice Get-away
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. The bungalow was awesome with a beautiful view of the ocean. We were there in March and it was really nice to be on a private beach with so few people. The staff were all friendly and helpful. My only complaint would be the quality of food and service at the on island restaurant is not that good. However the water taxi docks at a very nice mainland restaurant, which is what I would recommend. Overall I would recommend this resort very highly."
