Cabarete Bay is for the windsurfing enthusiast. It hosts professional kitesurfing competitions like the World Cup, WKL, and Master of the Ocean, and windsurfing lessons are offered by local schools. Playa Encuentro is one of the best surfing beaches in the Caribbean, with consistently excellent surfing conditions and surfing lessons available. Kite Beach is the place to go for more relaxed fun in the sun, with a reef break that attracts paddle boarders and famously perfect kiting conditions.
Diving and snorkeling are also popular among locals and visitors to Cabarete beach houses. A number of highly-rated dive shops can outfit you for your expedition and show you the best places to dive for your skill level. There are over 20 recommended locations to dive in the lagoons at Cabarete and at nearby Sosua Bay.
The reefs here are home to a variety of tropical sea life like octopus and dolphins, and the underwater landscape sports caves you will want to explore. You can even hear the songs of humpback whales as you dive!
Along the beaches you'll find a variety of vendors offering everything from knickknacks to beachwear. Good food and nightlife is not hard to find, with restaurants offering a variety of international cuisine. Whether you're craving a French bistro, an Irish pub, a Belgian bakery, or a Japanese sushi bar, Cabarete has a dining experience to suit your mood.
There are opportunities for adventure and fun away from the beach, too. Cabarete beach houses are within walking distance of El Choco National Park, which has an extraordinary system of caverns, some of which have pools of cool water that you can swim or dive in. Bring your camera to capture the stunning rock formations. You can explore these caves on a guided tour. The park also includes forest lands and trails for horseback riding, 4-wheeling, and hiking.
