"Cupids Key" Vistas (unit 2C at the Buttonwood Reserve Oceanfront Condominium Resort) is a top-floor unit, that includes a full-surround two-ocean view, facing west over the Caribbean for the sunset and east to the Atlantic for the sunrise. Enjoy stunning ocean views from every room through eight-foot glass sliders and six-foot bay windows. The expansive private decks also feature spectacular sea views in every direction.

Buttonwood Reserve is a 10 minute walk from three restaurants: Delish, Leorose Sunset Beach Bar and Grill, and Mel's Snack Shack.

Buttonwood Reserve has access to two beaches. On the Atlantic side is a world-class, 3-mile-long pink-sand beach, pristine without a single house. It is accessed via our private, golf-carts only driveway. All condominiums at Buttonwood come with access to a fleet of golf carts at no charge. On the Caribbean side of our property, almost in your front yard, is a second beach. This beach is small and rather rocky, so not so aesthetic, but the water is as calm as a lake and this shore is perfect for snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, and fishing.

Our resort-style pool is just steps from your condominium. This beautiful landscaped pool is heated for comfortable swimming year round.

We just completed a new pickleball court!

Our mini-gym is equipped with a multifunction smith machine cage with precision linear bearings, an Olympic weight rack, dip station, and a cable routed pulley system. Guests also have access to dumbbells and a fitness/yoga mat. This is an open-air gym (fully roofed and with three walls).

The professionally decorated interior of this vacation rental is elegantly furnished, modern, warm and comfortable. The east end of the great room features a modern, open-plan, luxurious kitchen finished in stainless steel and black granite. The kitchen, dining area, and living room have magnificent ocean views in every direction, with water sparkling as far as the eye can see.

The master bedroom is features a large upholstered window seat with magnificent panoramic views of the Caribbean, a perfect spot to relax with a book or morning coffee, or watch the sunset over the sea. The master is furnished with a king bed and equipped with an en-suite full bath. The master has a private door leading to the deck over the Caribbean.

The guest bedroom also features a large window seat with a spectacular view, this one overlooking the Atlantic. The bedroom has a full en-suite bath (which can be accessed from the hall as well). It is furnished with twin beds that can be converted into a king.

There is also a queen size sofa bed in the living room.

Buttonwood Reserve comes with kayaks and a paddle board for use on the sea or in our pond. Bicycles are also provided. Our retired groundskeeper, Patrick, is an expert fisherman and will take you out fishing in his boat for a half day or full day (extra charges apply.) Grill your catch fresh on our outdoor gas grill near the pool.

Just a mile from Buttonwood Reserve is the village of James Cistern, which has three grocery stores, a town dock where the fisherman bring their catch every day, a produce stand, and Kel D's sports bar. James Cistern is also the home of Stubb’s famous barbecue, now called Tamarind Tree Grill, every Friday and Saturday, which is not to be missed. Three restaurants are within walking distance!

Buttonwood Reserve is an easy 15-minute drive from Governor’s Harbour, the main town on the island. Governor’s Harbour has a charming collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking its historic harbor.

Other restaurants in the area include Pascal’s at boutique resort Sky Beach Club, Tippy’s (international and fusion), 1648 Bar & Grille at French Leave (fine dining for lunch and dinner), The Buccaneer, The Rainbow Inn (steaks and Monday night brick oven pizza night), the Front Porch, Hot Buns bakery and sandwich shop, and Da Perk Café (café and sandwich shop).

Nearby Activities in Governors Harbour

Governor's Harbour is the main town on the island of Eleuthera, with a charming collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking its historic harbor. Eleuthera is most famous for its 100 miles of spectacular, deserted beaches. The island, home to just 8000 residents, is safe and friendly. The snorkeling, diving, and fishing on the island are world class. Boating, surfing, and other water sports are also popular. You can rent power boats, sailboats, sea kayaks and bikes. There is excellent sightseeing, as well. Eleuthera has vast caves, cliffs, and a bottomless ocean hole.

Things To Do in Governors Harbour

For most people who make the trip to Eleuthera, the island of freedom, they come for its peace and serenity -- that feeling of being far removed from the rest of the world. One of the best things about Eleuthera is that you'll almost always have a beach to yourself. And the sand is pink! You can go swimming and snorkeling and see stingrays and other aquatic life here. The Glass Window Bridge is one of the coolest spots to visit on the island. The Ocean Hole is a spot you'll never forget.. read more

"Beautiful experience at Buttonwood
Great experience at Buttonwood. Pictures we viewed when making our decision were accurate. Wonderful private beach that is part of miles and miles of remote beaches. Easy to grab one of buttonwood’s golf cart, for free, to take to the private/remote beach. Real close to two bar/restaurants that certain days of week have music. One of thee places, Delich, has unbelievable staff and food right on the beach!! Very nice kitchen we used to cook once in a while. Beautiful views from patio to watch sunset with a drink. The staff a buttonwood is most friendly and responsive. We didn’t use the pool, but a number of other guests did and they seemed to really enjoy its cleanliness and comfortable temperature."

"Buttonwood Reserve
Buttonwood Reserve was an excellent choice for us. Very clean, plenty of amenities, walkable to the Caribbean & Atlantic beaches, and food/beverage. Location is great for exploring numerous beaches and other island feature within a 1/2 hour drive north or south."

"Some good, some not good
We rented the entire complex. It was a great place for a family reunion. The view was magnificent and it was really fantastic to be able to go to the roaring Atlantic and the calm Caribbean. The golf carts were a great help and there were plenty of kayaks and paddle boards available.
There are several things though that were inconvenient. The airport and the only food market of any size is a 40 minute drive. If the supply boat hasn't been in recently it is out of stock of some things. The price of food and drink is three times what you would pay in the US.
There are a few small restaurants nearby that have very limited menus and are very expensive. We went to a great restaurant in Governor's Harbor called The Buccaneer Club.(20 minute drive). It was expensive but we didn't mind paying for it because the menu was diverse and the food was good.
Unless there's a stiff breeze the no-see-ums are going to get you at or after dusk. Bring date and baby oil and lather up if you're going to walk outside from one condo to the other."

"Great stay!
We were with a group and rented all of Buttonwood, including the Main House. It’s a beautiful property and it accommodated our large family fabulously. The golf carts were perfect (& needed!) for the trek to the beautiful private Atlantic beach. The kayaks and paddle board were a great addition. The condo seemed to have all the amenities you would need (although we didn’t cook all way.) Brett and Smitty were available if we needed anything and took care of us. Despite needing bug spray, we’d stay at Buttonwood again. "

"Amazing Family Reunion
Our family of 14 stayed at ButtonWood Reserve for 9 days and it was divine. We rented the main lodge for gathering and two additional condos. Matt and Tara were beyond helpful in getting us all the information we needed in preparation for our trip...helping with suggestions for excursions, chefs, photographers and more. The condos are nicely decorated, super clean, beds are comfy and the main lodge is an ideal space for gathering with breathtaking views off the large deck that overlooks the Caribbean. The kitchen in the main lodge is stocked with everything you could need for feeding a large group. We all loved having golf carts to access the Atlantic private beach and even when we didn't spend the day at that beach we still took rides down there in the mornings and early evenings. Having beach chairs, toys, kayaks, lifejackets available was so helpful. We loved having the paddleboard and kayaks to use on the Caribbean side. They set up a water trampoline while we were there and the kids went crazy for that! Mark at Buttonwood was incredibly attentive and available anytime we needed him. We had a family in our party test positive for COVID right before we were leaving so they couldn't join us. Matt was able to rent one of our additional condos at the very last hour which was wonderful to refund some of their money.

We hired Brenda and Patrick Demerrit to cook for us one night and it was such a treat! Highly recommend! Food was delicious and we got lots of insider tips on what to do and see while we were out there.

We went on a customized day excursion with Captain Sheldon and it was a highlight of our trip!

All the reviews about the noseeums on this island are legit. We learned the hard way after spending a late afternoon on the beach. Pack light pants to put on before sunset and early mornings.

Kids are dying to go back and so are we! I highly recommend Buttonwood Reserve! "

"Buttonwood Reserve
Property was great and all of the staff were extremely helpful. Really enjoyed our stay!"

"Great view, but needs a refresh
This was the second unit we stayed in at Buttonwwod, which is a great property centrally located on the island. This upper unit does provide views of both the Atlantic for sunrise and Caribbean for sunset—beautiful! However, the unit has obvious wear and tear that should be addressed. The main flooring has been changed from ceramic tile to LVP, which is peeling up in numerous places, the kitchen cabinet is missing shelves, and the kitchen is missing basics like a can opener. The washing machine was in the process of being repaired. but the very helpful manager allowed us to use another. We did enjoy use of the kayaks, SUP, and golf cart, as well as the on-site grill and pool. We ate at all 3 restaurants just a few minutes away in James Cistern. We also traveled the island tip to tip by car and by renting a boat—the beach chairs and cooler provided with the unit came in handy! We mostly had the beaches to ourselves, and spent much time on the Caribbean side snorkeling. Rainbow Bay and Receivers were our favorite beaches."

"Buttonwood Reserve 2C
This condo was given to us as a courtesy which was absolutely amazing. Everything went well there and the view is to go in a coma for....lol.
Sadly, we had to leave!

Thank you Matt for the opportunity."

"Buttonwood 2C August 2018 rental
after the few first hiccups 1) The Golfcart needed A new battery 2) The dishwasher needed to be secured in 3) we needed some things in the kitchen Everything was great! "

"Had wonderful Time
We very much enjoyed at stay Buttonwood. It is very convenient to James Cistern's grocery store (appx. 2 min down the road) & Leo rose (a restaurant). It's appx 20 min into GH, shops, and restaurants, 15 min from Rainbow rest, and overall, about in the middle of everything. I would suggest you fly into GH instead of N. Eleuthera, as, it is a 45 min. drive to Buttonwood.
Matt Simon was most helpful and gracious to take us to "The Cliff's, The ocean hole, and Hatchett Bay Cave. The kids had a blast there and Matt was very informative guiding us around.
The place was comfortable, roomy, and we had plenty of space to do our thing. There was also additional things left by other guests for use such as bug and sun spray."
May 30, 2018 - James R.

"Pretty Condo
The condo is very nice and was clean. We loved having access to both oceans. We knew that Eleuthera was rural but we weren't quite prepared for how rural it is. After a long day of travel, we arrived to the island and got our terrible rental car. (The inside of the of the door in the backseat fell off onto my daughter). The grocery store near the Northern Eleuthera airport was shady to say the least. We were able to get water but not much else. We couldn't find any coffee with caffeine in it! Yikes! Then, we tried to stop for a bite to eat but nothing was open and we didn't know how to find anything since we didn't have cellular service outside of wifi. We were all very grumpy and questioning our decision to come to the Bahamas. We finally landed at Leo Rose and were happy to get a drink and a snack. Sonya met us at the condo for a brief moment. She was clearly busy and didn't want to stick around which was fine because like I said, we were a little grumpy. The condo was nice and it was clean. We ended up having a good time except for the noseeums that devoured us even though we tried every kind of bug repellant possible. The beach on the Atlantic side had so much garbage on the shore. It was really sad to see the pollution. The island should really consider some sort of recycling program to help clean up the litter and maybe provide some income to these people living in poverty. There's a lot of beauty on the island and overall, we are glad we went but I don't know that we would return.
Matt was awesome through this whole process and all the information provided was appreciated and used. I loved the app also. I think Sonya is overworked! "

"Lovely stay at Buttonwood Reserve
We stayed in Unit 2C. It's a upper unit which afforded us great views. Unit was clean and comfortable. Everything worked great. Beds were comfy. Good location just south of James Cistern.
Sonia is great, warm & welcoming."

"Beautiful home base for your Eleuthera adventure!
This was our 2nd time in Eleuthera and 2nd time staying at Buttonwood. The property is beautiful and well cared for.Our condo was very clean and had pretty much everything needed for our stay. Use of the golf cart to explore the path behind the property and access the private beach is a huge plus - we did this many nights in the pitch dark - so fun, and rewarded with an amazing dark night sky full of stars!! "
Jul 26, 2017 - Charlotte H.

"AMAZING Place
I have to admit the highlight of the entire property are the two beaches. You can either head to the shallow and calm Caribbean Sea or rough and turqoise Atlantic Ocean, still calm enough to dip inside. Your private golf cart parked in your garage next to your beach chairs will be available during the entire stay making it possible to drive the 5-minutes way until you arrive at the most remote pink sand beach I have ever seen. It's the place for doing whatever and hanging around however you want. Nobody cares and nobody else will be around you, beside some birds on the sky perhabs. Privacy at it's best. All in all, I received exactely what I expected and it's one of the best condominiums I have ever stayed at. Go there for the total holiday feeling but don't expect to get entertained - that's your job! "
