"Great place for a quite vocation
If you are looking for a quite and peaceful vocation on the beach, the palm island area is highly recommended. The water is warm yet peaceful, and the staff are very friendly here. Not to mention everything we found in the unit just make us feel so relaxed and unwinded.
The only thing to keep in mind is in case you need to drive to TPA and take a flight after the vocation, give yourself more time as the traffic congestion could be worse than expected."

"Beach Villa Review
My Wife and I spent 4 nights, in this beautiful Villa. We had a wonderful experience, it was very clean and very well maintained. The only complaint we had was the mattress was a little hard for us. Other than that, it was amazing and we will for sure be back! "

"Magical Paradise!!
Our stay at Palm Island was fantastic, 10/10. The resort is absolutely beautiful, staff are so accommodating, kind, and very professional. We only live 10 minutes from the resort, but it always feels like we are far from home. Like I said, it is MAGICAL PARADISE. Our condo was perfectly located to see the ocean, and very well decorated in coastal theme. It was clean and had everything we needed. I always recommend Palm Island as a great place to escape to relax. Wish we didn't have to leave, but we will be back. Keep up the good work Palm Island staff and thanks to all who made our getaway special!!

"Family Time June 2023
We've been coming to the island since 1988. It's with a heavy heart that I must, for the first time we were disappointed! The cleaning could have done a better job, there was hair of various sorts in our bathtub and sink. There were workers on our building making lots of noise and very dangerous construction materials left around our unit #3611. Literally had to watch your every step. Our daughter got married there on the island on April 6, 2019 we had ordered pizza from the Rum Bay, it was very fresh and delicious. Our daughter ordered pizza for all of us upon our arrival and it tasted like cardboard. As a family we rented three units 3611. 2913 and 2011. We spent a considerable of money on our family time this weekend. Not to be 100% satisfied as we all have been for years. I understand that the hurricane has been a lot to recover from. We did pay full price but, didn't receive what we have been accustomed to. I hope this honesty will improve the stay of other quests! "

"worse vacation at palm island resort
No wifi; BBQ grills nasty and didn't work; went to other locations and same problem and most of them had roaches inside. Pools were closed down due to "bacteria infection"; TV only had 2 channels that we never heard of and we were informed that owners had cut back on cable programming. When we complained we was offered a bottle of wine. Very disappointed had been coming here for years and never had a bad experience. Ending up leaving a day earlier and was scheduled to come back in September and cancelled that reservation. Will never return again after so many years going there."

"Worst vacation experience ever!
The staff, Marriane primarily, was not accommodating at all, they were rude and there was little information or follow up. The ice maker didn’t work, the outside door was broken and they tried to charge us for it even though we called maintenance who said they would come and never did. We rented several units for family and each one had something that was broke or didn’t work, our family didn’t have the good time we had expected. We were highly disappointed that for spending nearly 20 grand we had pour hospitality. Staff are super unprofessional and not at all accommodating. "

Hate to let the cat out of the bag but this unit will not disappoint. Quite the contrary, clean, tastefully decorated, comfortable furniture, perfect location coupled with attentive property managers. The best part was the porch furniture. While most rental units have simple plastic banded chairs or rod iron furniture, this unit has comfortable upholstered chairs and couch. Thanks Dawn and John, we have already booked our return."

Palm island is our favorite vacation spot! Everything on the island was perfect. Every staff member we met were extremely kind, especially the ladies at check in and out! The only negative comment would be the carpet in our unit. It has multiple stains and definitely needs to be replaced. I didn’t want to walk on it with bare feet."

"Perfect Wedding Destination!
We had our wedding here on March 14th and it couldn't have been any better. The room was facing the beach and very close to the Restaurant and other facilities. There was plenty of room in the suite and it came fully equipped with everything we needed for a pleasant stay. The staff was wonderful and took care of everything that popped up. Our wedding went off without a hitch and luckily we were able to get it in before the COVID-19 crisis which shut everything down the following week. The only complaint I had was the transportation on and off the island which is not affiliated with the resort and unreasonably expensive. Other than that, it is the perfect place for your wedding, weeklong vacation or just weekend getaway!"

We’ve stayed at Palm Is. 5 or 6 times - several times renting homes or condos for our entire family. We’ve always been pleased with accommodations. Not this year. The first time we stayed in a 1-bedroom unit, it needed repairs, walls painted and adequate supplies; we had no TV service in the living area the first day, the carpet needed to be cleaned, if not replaced. A disappointing experience for returning guests who previously praised your property. "

"Beautiful Stay, Apartment Needed Some Updates
Gorgeous stay at Palm Island, we have been coming for years. There are just a few updates in this specific apartment that were a bit disappointing for the price, but overall, the staff, the resort was spectacular. The ceiling fan in the guest room was super noisey, so we could not use it during our stay. It was nearly impossible to use and try to sleep. Very loud. We turned down the AC to make it cooler instead, but when the AC turns on, it blasts quite loud/seems to be an older AC unit. We had difficulty sleeping the first night due to the noise. Also, we could hear every step and noise from the upstairs guest. They returned home quite late and could hear them walking through every room from the guest bedroom. There was also no salt in the apartment. We bought groceries and didn't expect to need to buy salt, as this is usually provided. The apartment had pepper but no salt. Again,these are small things but sometimes its the small things that can make your stay the best. Other than those items, we loved this apartment, the view was beautiful. The staff at Palm Island are always so kind and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. This apartment is starting to feel a bit dated, we probably wouldn't stay in this specific one again, but overall, we truly enjoyed our weekend. Marty on the front desk is great, the bell men were very friendly, the beach, spectacular! Thank you"

My only complaint was that after checkout I had to take the golf cart all the way to Coconuts to return it in the pouring rain and then come out to my car . Was wet all the way of my 2.5 hr. drive. Need better bad weather plan. "

We had three one bedroom units for our family. The units had very little in the way of cooking grater,dull knives, no rubber spatula, etc. there was also no salt or pepper which others would clearly have left. Bedding was just adequate...thin blend cotton. These issues won uld surely be easy to remedy. We tried to bar-b-que one evening and all three grills were out of order."

Just stayed in a one bedroom condo at Palm island resort. Wow...what a view! Coffee on the beach, lunch on the lani with a bright view of gulf waters. Afternoon swim in pool & quiet evening, cocktail in hand watching last of sunset dance across water & sky. God has certainly shared a little piece of heaven with this hidden Gem. Oh..Yes..Service is great as staff is always having a good day. No "island time" service here. "

"Weekend in Paradise!
Coming to Palm Island is like going back in time. The laid backed atmosphere with no cars is precious. Miles of sand and gulf are amazing. The view from the porch, priceless. We haven't been here in a few years and it seems unchanged. It causes you to slow down and enjoy nature. We will definitely return to Palm Island.
We do think that they need to add one more restaurant to the Island and that the food does need some improvement. The condo was clean and fresh. The fan in the bathroom needs repair. The light on the front porch is very annoying as you are trying to sleep and the shades are drawn the one bedroom is still very light with it.
Overall still a great get-away from winter and the hectic life. We love Palm Island Resort. "

Condo and Beach were as advertised. Palm Island staff were very friendly. However, I would never rent a ground floor unit again. The noise from the upstairs condo was horrible - sounded like elephants in the ceiling at all hours of day and night. Not what I expected from a one bedroom - 2 person condo. I don't recommend this unit - pick a second floor unit instead of a ground floor!"

I rented a one bedroom villa on the first (second floor) and was surprised at how updated it was. Looked like it had not been lived in since renovation. Fortunately, I didn't need extra services but when I was checking out the bell boy was at my door in a matter of minutes to take me and load all my baggage, etc, While I was there there was a barbecue with great food and music. All for free. I would recommend staying at Palm Island Resort an time. Gorgeous beach!"

Everything was really nice. The beach was kind of far from my villa but was a short walk. The map from the website made it look really close. Everyone was nice a kind and willing to do anything for you. The boat captain with the beard is a jerk. Had a comment to say because I had a cigar in my hand. It was not even lit. Not sure why he needed to say out loud as I was driving off the ferry to say "We have an ash try behind the wheel". I guess he has issues."

If you want to get away and do nothing or if you want to be active this is the place to go. We loved it because there is NO CARS, NO NOISE, and it is so relaxing just riding the golf cart and going to the pool and bike riding. Palm Island Resort is a great place to get away for a little while. You take a car ferry to the island and then once at the resort, you either walk or take a golf cart everywhere. There is only one restaurant on the island but the full kitchen in each condo and grills allow you to take it easy and cook at your own pace. The best thing about Palm Island Resort is the beautiful barely populated beaches. You feel like you have your own private beach. "

"Return to Paradise
It would be hard to imagine a better place than Palm Island to visit with a family. Access to the island is by ferry, and only those who are residents, guests, or providing services make the crossing. There is also a boat launch for those who wish the Resort for dinner. Once you reach the Resort you park your vehicle, and all traffic in the resort is by bicycle or golf carts (both rented on site). The children enjoyed Captain Red Beard craft sessions and his show, tennis lessons and dolphin cruise. As laidback as you wish, extremely friendly atmosphere, yet you can be as busy as you wish with tennis, swimming, beach activities, walking, or just socializing."

"Anniversary Get-Away
Everyone was GREAT. We had one bad experience. We planned to go to Leverocks for our anniversary dinner on Wednesday evening. The water taxi operator was somewhat rude and had planned to close the taxi service early, which meant we wouldn't have had a ride back. We didn't go and that ruined that one experience! I can not compliment Debbie, Dan, CJ and others enough though on their kindness and professionalism. We even ran into Dan at breakfast on our way home. Great guy!!"

Greeted with sarcasm by golf cart bell hop.
Rental was not cleaned well; sand on floor.
Furnishings in condo were uncomfortable.
Toilet plugged upon first flushing.
Foot rinse on stairs off balcony did not work.
Although I Love the Island and the Resort, my overall experience was not as nice as it has been in my past 2 visits. Otherthan the bell hop; the staff are extremely nice, cooperative and should be commended for their customer service. "

"Amazing Getaway
Our trip was fabulous, the staff was friendly and helpful. The villa was outstanding, clean with a beach cottage decor and within walking distant of the beach, pool and restaurant. I would definitely recommend Palm Island to friends and family!!!"

Our stay was amazing. The island is so private, with a great restaurant and bar.
The beach was beautiful, and sunset intimate.
The condo had everything we needed along with a breathtaking view.
We couldn't wait to tell our friends about it, but not too many. I feel like we stumbled upon a fantastic little secret escape!"

"Tranquil Vacation Spot
Palm Island Resort was a wonderful place to stay. It was clean and the staff was very friendly. I enjoyed feeling like I was on a far away remote island, however, the location was only a 2 minute ferry ride from the mainland. The beach was gorgeous and

"February Stay
We loved Palm Island Resort. Our only problem came on our last day. Our package came with late departure on our last day. Apparently there was a booking problem and we were asked to check out early (12:30). We understand mistakes, but neither the golf cart transportation nor the cleaning people appeared at 12:30. I had to call to ask for transportation. Due to a cloudy AM, time to pack, etc. we lost one day of our stay at Palm Island. That was a real disappointment."

"This is what I expected Sanibel to be like.....
My week at Sanibel island was a great dissapointment....too many people, overpriced, too much traffic etc....Luckily i stopped at Palm Island on the way home...beautiful ocean views and sunsets, deserted beaches and a small quiet resort....I'll be back......"

"A Peaceful Getaway
Palm Island Resort was exactly what we were looking for - a quiet, beautiful place with comfortable, functional accomodations. The beach is perfect for walking and shelling. The resort owns property that provides fine nature walks. The lack of cars is especially pleasant. There are some good bar drinks and excellent shrimp in the restaurant. I look forward to return visits,"

"The 1 bedroom, ocean view, was very nice. Construction was being done, which we were not informed of before arriving, and that wasn't pleasant. No kayak's, a pain in the butt to rent a golf cart and it was a ridiculous price to do so!!
We should have been told about the inconveniences and given the choice to either go at that time or another time. We'll stick with Longboat Key. By the way, my name is Karen not Karaen."
