The place was great. It is small but suited my family of 4 just fine. If you have a bigger group just know it may be a tight fit.
But the location was perfect and the condo was clean and couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Wish we could have stayed longer. "

"Beachfront - Beach Service - Dolphins!
This is our fifth visit to the Emerald Isle at Okaloosa Island. We normally stay in the building next door, but it is undergoing balcony remodeling. So, we decided to take a chance and stay at Pelican Isle this visit. The unit overall (309) was okay. However, attention needs to be made to cleanliness. The tile flooring and laminate flooring need to be scrubbed and cleaned. After walking around barefoot the first evening, my feet were black. The balcony sliding door track has mold and dirt and really needs to be addressed. The kitchen was stocked okay. A Keurig would have been nice. There was enough toilet paper so that was appreciated. There were also miniature bars of soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion and makeup remover pads. The unit is located just outside the elevator. It can become quite noisy at different times of the day and night. And people have a tendency to slam their doors. The staff at Pelican Isle are very friendly and helpful. And of course, the beach service was great as always. We love this location on the beach because of its beauty and watching the dolphins. We appreciate that there were units available to rent while Island Sands was being remodeled. "

"Lovely place and location!
This condo is great! We enjoyed the location— 5-15 minutes from most anything!! The property was well maintained and the beach chairs were convenient and the layout was nice in the condo. One thing that felt odd was that it was a VRBO, but run like a hotel; starch sheets, and minimal supplies and checkout at 10am. We were asked to bring beach towels, TP, PT, and even salt and pepper. We book these kinds of places for the “home like” experience and I would say it was about half way there... to the owner/manager, I would say hold the bottle of shampoo and give me an extra roll of TP and a few more basic cleaning supplies. We did really appreciate having a vacuum in the condo! Lovely property, just wish the amenities were a bit more accommodating. Thank you!!"

I’d recommend this unit 309. Pros: you don’t have to stay a week. Check in does not have to be Saturday to Saturday. Free parking. 2 chairs and umbrella comes with the unit. It’s on quiet Okaloosa Island. Cons: no storage for our suitcases. Limited pots and pans, if you wanted to cook. Not alot of glasses. Very small balcony "

This condo has everything you would need to make a family vacation success. Beach access right in your backyard, chairs, umbrellas, washer and dryer were new and efficient. Even better than the pictures. Comfy King Bed. Room Temp was perfect. Free Beach Service was a great bonus. Loved the distance and ease of getting on and off the beach. Perfect view. Two elevators made things easier. Plenty of towels and space for 4 people. Plenty of parking. Washer and Dryer worked perfectly. Check in and out was extremely simple, all done by phone. The only suggestion would be some comfier furniture for the living area. Thank you for making our vacation great!"

Came in on a Thursday from Georgia, upon entering my room the smell of a dirty mop lingered, the house keeping/ cleaning was totally ridiculous, the hallway bathroom was NOT cleaned properly I found hair in the shower, the television in the bedroom only played one channel. My room smelled of dirty mop our entire stay. The cleaning crew needs to do a better job YOUR GUESTS PAY A LOT OF MONEY to stay in these condos and EXPECT a nice CLEAN room when vacationing "

"Perfect Place for Family Vacation
This place is great! Exactly what the pictures depict. Its is truly beach front, the amenities are all there and working correctly. The hot water was great! Always important after a long day at the beach.
What made this perfect was the chairs in the balcony were broken and I reported it via the app. They not only fixed it an a couple of days but the follow up by the rental company was exceptional. I highly recommend this unit to anyone travelling with kids. "

"Balcony View
For the most part, I really enjoyed my stay at Pelican Isle RM 309. It was unfortunate that the fridge did not get cold because we had bought $150 worth of groceries upon landing in Fort Walton. I called Brooks & Shorey about the fridge on day 2 after 20 hours of "giving it a chance", but she said it would just need a few hours. It had a bowl inside for leaks, it looked apparent that the facility knew the fridge was in poor condition. Needless to say, if we wanted anything to stay cool, we had to put it in the freezer. Aside from the mustard, our groceries were ruined. The mattress feels very similar to one of a pull-out couch. On a brighter note, the location wasn't too far from everything and the view from the balcony was perfect. I like the updated floors."

I took the insurance thinking I could postpone if anything came up so when the hurricane was coming I asked to postpone or cancel and was informed then about only if there was an evacuation which if I would have known that I would not have booked. I was not given any details about the insurance. Also the room smelled like I was staying in a not well kept nursing home. At 8:30 in the morning your maintainance was running a blower outside and last we had to leave Saturday night instead of Monday because we were worried about being caught in evacuation traffic. I will say the other times we booked with you everything was fine but after this it will probably be my last One more thing, My daughter-in-law Wendi Hairford and my granddaughter also booked to stay with us but did not even get to come because they were afraid about the hurricane and also wanted to change the dates. They also took the insurance. Very disappointing"

My husband, 2 kids (5&7), and I loved staying in this condo. It was clean and suited our needs perfectly. My kids LOVED staying in the bunk beds. This is right on the beach with a gorgeous ocean view. The beach chairs and umbrella were very convenient. I loved having a nice washing machine and dryer-- I did laundry every night due to the sand and humidity. Would definitely stay here again! "

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time on our relaxation getaway! The condo was a perfect size for us, and the views were amazing. Every morning coffee on the balcony watching the Dolphins swim by was just how I wanted to spend my mornings! I would say if there were more than two of us I would feel a bit crowded. The bunk beds are not spacious and I think only up to 2 years old could fit into them. The condo was very clean and what you see in the pictures is what you get. The only bad thing about the management is that the people at the desk at pelican isle couldn't answer any of my questions and just referred me to brooks and shorey's office. All in all I cannot complain, we stayed in a wonderful condo right on a wonderful beach! What more would you need ? "

"Great View + Style + Functionality
We have rented a lot of oceanfront condos and this has to be one of the nicest. It is tasteful, clean and there are hooks everywhere for your stuff. We felt like we were staying in someone's home rather than a rental because it had everything we needed and it was set up so you can keep your stuff organized and keep the condo clean. Management was great and the free DVD rental was terrific especially for the kids. We would definitely stay here again! :)"

Everything was great as usual while staying at Pelican Isle. Perfect getaway for a family of 5. The room was laid out just like the pictures show. I would only have 1 suggestion for owner and 1 comment for renters. For the owners - why is there a need for King size bed in bedroom when they take up nearly the entire room? Queen size bed in this size room would be more efficient and ease of walking around. For renters, unit does not have a pantry so if you bring a lot of food be prepared to empty some dishes from cabinets or put everything on top of the fridge. Other than that we are very pleased and would stay here again."

The location was great and convenient. Having beach chairs included with the rental was a definite PLUS. The carpet in our room was very dirty and the texture felt gross. Definitely should be replaced. The floors and baseboards could use a good cleaning, and decorative "plants" could use a good dusting. Also, the sofa-bed cushions need cleaning. If the room was cleaned a little better, the stay would have been perfect. "

"Perfect Fall Get A Way
Pelican Isle is the perfect fall get a way for a couple or a group of friends. We have stayed here twice and love the closeness to the beach; two bathrooms, pool and hot tub! Some girlfriends rented a separate condo for 4 days of our 10 day stay and want to join us again next year.
Tips for the management company - not to publish - dryer lint trap was rusty and had a large hole in it; dishwasher rack was missing a roller; lightbulbs were out in the bathroom. I rented from another company and did not have to report any of these so you might add to your checklist since I was told this was a rental and not owner occupied. Thanks. "

This is the 4th year I've rented through Brooks & Shorey, so obviously I've been pleased with the company. Third year at Pelican Isle, & I liked this condo the best. The kitchen was totally stocked with everything needed, great decor, with high top balcony furniture. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars for cleanliness is because of mold in the shower. Everything else was great."

I was hesitant to book without really knowing too much about this condo. They were very friendly on the phone and check in. The view was amazing. The outside beach workers were awesome!
Our condo was very dirty. The ceiling fan had two burnt out lightbulbs and hanging dust from each blade. The ceiling in the master bedroom had dust balls hanging from it. The curtains in the master bedroom was covered in dirt and were ripping. The water heater closet door was filthy and dusty. The dinette chairs has old food and sunflower seeds under the cushion, the tv stand was full of old check in receipts of past customers and we pulled out a pan to make eggs and it was caked with old food.The screen door on the sliding glass was laying off the door. We left a day early I cried on the way home I was so disappointed. I really wouldnt mind a discount. "

My husband and I visted Okaloosa Island this past week for the first time. The beach was beautiful and had a wonderful breeze. The umbrella chairs were a great added touch. However, our room was very dirty. The living room table had old cherry stems on it, hair was found in the freezer, the phone did not work, the blender had mold in it! There was water in the dishes upon our arrival. The pots and pans were very poor quality as well. We were very disappointed. "

Although this was a really short stay we thoroughly enjoyed it. After reading one of the other reviews I was a little concerned, but our unit was great! Comfortable king size bed, pleasant decorations, almost new carpet."
