Loved the location and room was good. Bed comfortable, seating good, especially out on balcony! We purchased a fan for bedroom to help block any outside noise, left there for next guests! upgraded to a better brand of toilet paper and left coffee filters, salt and pepper, for next guests-- Those are a couple of things Brooks & Shorey should include for the price that other Air BnBs provide. Comforts of home is why we choose Bnb's over a hotel room. Overall, great place and great vacation! "

"Perfect spot
Highly recommend this spot. The condo is in the perfect location at the far end of Okaloosa Island. The beach is perfect and just a few steps away. The free beach chair and umbrella service makes it even that much better. The condo itself was clean and well stocked for what we needed. We typically just did sammiches for lunch and went out for supper. With the location going back and forth to the room was a breeze. We'll definitely be back."

Great Location, beautiful views and close proximity to the beachfront! However, the mattresses need upgrading. Very uncomfortable including the small bunks beds. Our daughter who is 5’ was almost too long for the bunk bed...Those mattresses were also very uncomfortable. The area rug in the living room desperately needs to be replaced or cleaned. Sofa also feels a bit run down. If the owner invested in new mattresses, even some memory foam gel mattresses..."

Overall, we had a wonderful stay! The condo is in a great location and has tons of great potential. I only have 2 issues, and I'm not a complainer. This unit needs a deep clean from the front door on. You arrive and it looks like the door has been damaged by the elements. There were smears on the wall and door of the bathroom. We had to go buy a few kitchen items because there wasn't even a sheet pan available. Beach service was amazing! We really did enjoy this condo, but it needs a few minor updates and good cleaning!"

This was by far the nicest vacation rental we’ve had in Fort Walton. There isn’t one complaint we can think of. Because of the storm that came with Ida, we spent most of our 6 day vacation in the room but it didn’t matter. We still had the ocean view and it was very relaxing. "

"2021 Beach Trip
Other than the floors, the condo seemed pretty clean. We took our 4 yr old and 2 yr old granddaughter with us and shortly after arriving the evening of our first day the bottom of both of their feet were black. Also, the pool was not even on the side of the property closest to the beach. It was very small and located between the parking lot and the street. We will not stay there again."

"Good overall, but kitchen design is the worst we've ever seen
Everything worked fine in the kitchen, but the frig door is on the wrong side, and some of the cabinets are unreachable. Worst kitchen design we've ever experienced. Otherwise, the rental was fine, although the prices seem to have gone up a lot. "

This unit was fresh, clean, well-stocked and plenty spacious enough for two people. The view was breathtaking.
I personally loved the ease of getting to the unit from the parking lot. No lobby, no elevators...easy peasy. Also, the maintenance office was very quick to respond and very helpful. We had a minor issue with the fridge that got fixed right away.
Would most definitely stay here again!"

The condo itself was beautiful and well stocked. Location was perfect, however it was so noisy and loud there! You can hear yourneighbors using the bathroom and there was always this sound of a dog howling. After a few times it sounded more like air in the pipes or something but its all day and night. Not able to sleep good due to all the noise! "

Location was excellent. Not on the strip which I loved. We were right on the beach with a spectacular view. The unit was clean clean and supplied us with everything we needed. It was a little outdated and was starting to show some wear but everything was operational. My only complaint would be the parking lot and the location and size of the swimming pool. I would have liked to have enjoyed the ocean view even then we were poolside but the pool is on the front side of the complex with the parking lot separating the pool from the complex. It was also a very small pool, my in ground at home was larger. All in all I was very satisfied . It was a good value and a pleasant stay."

"Beach getaway over too soon
The property was just as it is described on the site. We had an amazing time. We loved that it was on the ground level but had an amazing gulf view. I loved the pvc chairs on the balcony. Great beach access and umbrella and chairs included with rental. The pool is a little small and the parking lot isn't ideal(one big hill). The only thing that could be added to the condo itself would be better cooking utensils. We would definitely recommend this as a place to stay! I could have stayed on the balcony the whole trip and enjoyed the view."

This is our 3rd stay at ETW room 1004. For the most part we enjoy our stay and this room.Very nice decor, very clean, well stocked, great view of the beach. We do however have a few suggestions. It would be nice to have a broom and dustpan because, as you must know, it is impossible to keep sand out of the room and we prefer to clean it up,daily. Also, the last 2 times we've stayed in this room,the mattress has be getting more and more wear making it very difficult to get a good nights sleep. We will be back to ETW but we absolutely need a more firm bed."

"Nice condo and amenities.
We spent 3 nights here and had a great time. There were 3 adults and the size was perfect. I don't think it would work for more than 4 people though. It technically sleeps 6 but the bunk beds are very uncomfortable and the sofa bed made a lot of noise every time you moved. Nice that there were 2 sinks since we were all getting ready to go out at once. Appliances all worked well and the shower had good water pressure. The view was great, better than expected for the first floor. We took advantage of some of the perks including a free dolphin cruise pass and free movie rentals. (Would be helpful to have some printed instructions on how to set the TV to use the DVD player). Also enjoyed the complimentary beach chairs. We saw dolphins swimming right off the shore 2 out of 3 mornings. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. "

The condo was clean, nicely furnished and comfortable. Being on the ground floor was easy to move in and out and not have to use the elevator. The screen door is broken, and there was no broiler pan to use the oven. It is a nice location because it is a smaller condo complex and thus fewer people on the beach!"

We were on bottom floor and were pleasantly surprised of how good the view was from our balcony. You get more bang for your buck with Brooks & Shorey and will use them again. Bed was a little uncomfortable and tub has very slow drain, but the condo is nice and clean and loved location. Have recommended to all of our friends and family and would stay again in this unit if they get better mattress. "

"Everything You Need
My husband and I stayed at this location with our 11-mth old, my father, and two family friends (5 1/2 people total). The condo had all the amenities we needed. The sleeper sofa was comfortable enough, but a bit lumpy according to one of our friends. The bunk beds are sized for children/teenagers, but one of our adult friends was able to sleep on one. Overall, the unit was clean. I only had to use some disinfectant wipes on the refrigerator handle, pantry doors, and light switches. No biggie - just my OCD. The view for a ground level condo was pretty good - you could clearly see the ocean shore. I would recommend this unit for any families looking for a budget-conscious rental on the beach. Lovely unit in a lovely location."

We have rented from Brooks & Shorey for the last 4 years and we try different condos each time, this was our first time being on a first floor unit and I had second thoughts about it. However once we arrived it was so nice to be on first floor! We loved it! We loved the condo as well, so nice to be able to sit out on the balcony and listen to the waves crash right outside your door. We will be back and can't wait til next year!!"

We were very pleased and satisfied with our stay in this condo at Emerald Towers West. The condo was very clean and comfortable. It was well supplied and the amenities were very nice. We did have a little maintenance trouble (clogged toilet and bathroom light out) that took a couple of days to fix but they did take care of it. The patio furniture was pretty worn, but the last day of our stay a brand new patio set was delivered. Overall we had a great experience and would definitely rent here again!"

It rained most of the time we were there and that was unfortunate, but other than the weather we had a great time. The condo was in a quite, out of the way location. I loved having an umbrella and beach chairs every day already set up for us. The beaches were very clean and beautiful. The only negative was the sofa sleeper and the bunk beds. They were very uncomfortable and probably need to be replaced with new mattresses. The bed in the bedroom was comfortable. Having a 1st floor condo made it very convenient and the view was spectacular! We will be going back again to stay!"

"My stay
The mattess on the king bed was not comfortable. The mattress was saging on the left hand side nearest the bathroom. The shower curtain that goes inside the tub was dirty. It was difficult to figure out how the shower worked. The tub was not clean. The curtains on the right hand side going out to the balcony was hanging down. Over all we had a good stay. I feel with a few minor corretions this would be a great condo to stay in."

"We were very specific when booking, that we needed a ground floor room, which had a beachside exit and a common area as we were part of a very large group, who would be sharing meals. We were assured that the room we booked exited to the beach area.
Well, it didn't. Our groups only common area was the parking lot!! Another family in our group experienced an ant invasion. Ants completely took over their clothes in the dressers, got in their toiletries in the bathroom, took over the beds, it was awful!! Brooks & Shorey did get them another room the next day, but in no way compensated them for the inconvenience. They had gone to the store and bought poison, spray,laundry soap, etc. but were not reimbursed."

"Nice enough
Overall,nice value and great location. My wife and I were disappointed in the cleanliness of the condo. The brochure gave the reason for such a late check-in as 4pm so as to give the staff time to meet their exacting standards of cleanliness- my wife and I had to clean the table, rewash dishes and sweep before we went to bed. Maybe the maid was having a bad day, never the less, we recomend the unit and the staff. We would stay again."

The sheets on the bed and the pillows were stained. I ended up sleeping in the bunk beds instead. Also, I am a frequent renter (business). It would be nice if there were some sort of recognition for this status. My group sends men down there regularly (especially in the off season) and we support these properties in these low times. Some recognition and/or rewards program would be greatly appreciated."

We had a wonderful experience. I loved our condo - first floor ocean view. I want to express how impressed I was with the beach service ( umbrella/chairs) both young men who set up were very personable and polite - I can't say that very often you come across such attentive young folks - they were an asset to our entire stay. We were me w/smiles upon arrival and departure. Very quiet, relaxing stay. I am looking forward to returning. Since I had also invited other friends I was very happy that the accommodations and beach location were so nice. We only had a few minor problems w/the condo - all we reported to the attendant. i.e. an iron fell out of the closet and just missed my head - apparently it had not been placed securely. The attendant offered to have staff come to the condo if needed - very customer friendly. You have great staff. thanks again

We were very satisfied with our stay. The only small complaint would be, that our view was very nice, but being on the ground floor, our view of the beach directly in front was obstructed by the sand dune. We could not see the beach or the waters edge. Looking side to side the protective dunes were smaller in hieght.We could hear the waves fine but that was all. We could hardly see the people walking on the beach,from the neck up. Forget watching the children play. Thanks. "

We had an amazing time in Ft.Walton/Okaloosa/Destin. What a great area to vacation in our own country! Forget Mexico or all the other beach locales. I'm keeping my vacation money here in the U.S.! The only minor issue in cleanliness is that under the beds it was a bit dirty/dusty and needed sweeping. Absolutely, relatively, minor in my books! This condo was nicely decorated and very convenient to the beach with a great view. NO issues with having to wait for an elevator or running up and down the stairs. The owners really take pride in their investment. I will highly recommend this condo and Brooks and Shorey Resorts, Inc. Thanks for making this trip memorable!"

"A vacation to remember
The accomodations were more than we expected. It was a very nice condo with an excellent view. We even watched the dolphins from the balcony on several occasions. We had a wonderful time and will definitely return to paradise."

We were really looking forward to the dolphin cruise, but wasn't able to use it on the weekend. (Booked on Sat. and no cruises on Sunday.) And you cant use it on the day you leave. Kinda inconvienent. Didn't use any of the aminiteies. But still had a great time."

I've lived or traveled to this area for over 20 years and have always loved it! This was a nice unit, well located, clean and quiet! Parking for loading/unloading is tricky, but not a major issue! Perfect long weekend get away in a very nice, but down to earth unit! We didn't spend the whole trip worried about the grandson breaking anything!"

We were satisfied with the condo. Love the easy access to the beautiful beach, and really love the fact that you include with the rental 2 beach loungers and a umbrella (WoW), and you even went further and give movie rentals for free while you are there. Check out is at 10am, and after check out we wanted to go to the beach for a couple of hours before heading home. It would have been really nice to be allowed to use the beach umbrella and chairs for free that morning."

"Outdated furniture, TVs and horrible pool.
The only thing this property has going for it is the location. The TVs, furniture and pool need to be updated. The furniture had a old raunchy smell to it. The TVs were blurry and outdated. The pool was very small and in front of the property near the parking lot. No hot tub! The room was clean, the appliances were in goood condition and acceptable. The view was beatiful though."

"Could Do Better
The Brooks & Shorey personnel were fine. We hadn't previously been to Fort Walton Beach, so the area was new to us, and there were some things we didn't expect: (1) The first floor one-bedroom units in the building have the bedroom on the parking-lot/walkway side of the building, so when people arrive late at night, or leave in the wee hours, and talk as they're walking, or roll their luggage, people trying to sleep will be awakened. (2) This unit was dirty, dusty floors, dust balls under the bed, cob webs in corners, etc. Apparently it hadn't been used for some time, and that being a first floor unit, it is prone to be more dirty. We think it should have been thoroughly cleaned immediately before our arrival. (3) The noise from the unit above us sounded as heavy furniture was being dragged across the ceramic tile floor several times each day - just a little irksome. Also the tenants above walked as if there were elephants in the unit - sometimes even during the night. (4) The outside of the building was being painted while we were there. This added to the noise during the day, and we had to park the car some distance away to be assured we didn't have paint spray on the vehicle. (5) Also, we noted tenants from two different units walking their dogs (one tenant had THREE little dogs) on the small grassy area between the porch and the beach; the owners didn't have any scoopers; and we thought this was a no-pets building. We really don't care to "step in it," and we noticed many people (without scoopers) walking their dogs on the sidewalks, and grassy areas along Santa Rosa Blvd. "
