"Beautiful condo. Great 3-bedroom unit!
We've stayed in many units over the last 30+ years, and this was a very nice one. Perfect for a large family. The building sits very close to the water, so it's a shorter walk to the beach than most. Made it feel like you were sitting almost on top of the water which was amazing. We could see manatees swimming down the gulf from our balcony. Loved the large outdoor dining table for family breakfasts and dinners with a breeze. The kitchen is better stocked than most units. The only issue was there wasn't much room for food in the cabinets because they were full with dishes. Minor detail. The upstairs had a murphy bed and 3 twins which was nice, but we couldn't find sheets for the murphy bed. Overall, we were very happy with the unit. Beautiful sunsets & beach views from the upstairs deck which had a great hightop table for 4. A perfect place for an evening toast. Some really nice touches in this unit. "

We think this is generated partly by so many family reservations under the same name but also by miscommunication between the ferry people and resort management. "Broken Hot tub, filthy Pool , over priced Condo
This was my 2nd reservation/Stay @Palm Island in a month. My husband & I truly enjoyed our 1st Stay so booked another stay 2 weeks later! This was not a pleasant experience at all! I phoned day of check in @9am. Asked if we could check in early. Guest services stated they will call back in an hour. I never heard back until 2:20pm - I was at the beach waiting this whole time! Ran over to registration so excited to check in....wrong! I was told that my unit had no AC. But I could take a cheaper unit for $200 less. I decided to go home & check in next day. Got a call from GS to check in early, so we raced over to get the keys & NO packet was ready with my name on it. A young man forgot to give me a pool card/key & free ferry card. I didn’t feel the warm hospitality, no other guests were in the building. Dan offered to give me a ride to get my golf cart, he was nowhere to be found so we had to walk! We loaded our golf cart ourselves while a few young men watched at security desk - had no idea where our unit was. He said sorry, I cannot leave this desk. Resort had limited staff, our hot tub was broken, pool area filthy, pool not running- dirty with bugs & a ton of sand (I am sure bacteria was growing from not filtering) no floats for adults, pool noodles were filthy, chairs tipped over, umbrellas broken- for the money I paid. So very disappointing. I phoned PAM, stated these issues & she sent over a crew. They had no idea what to do! Useless! They left without cleaning up! We missed the first day of pool time since I didn’t have pool key. Unit was ok. Very overpriced compared to my other stay. Moldy rugs outside on lanai and very few towels in each bathroom. Spacious but not impressed. I liked my 2-bdrm unit better on stay #1. Our stay was ok. Beds very uncomfortable. AC unit very loud. No shelf in showers to put soap/shampoo on. Enjoyed location & lookout. I had no idea how much my bill was. Pam said it was wrong so they will fi"

"Sharing our Experience - our 4th 10 day stay
This place is my husband's absolutely favorite place to visit on a beach. So I contacted the property after being unable to book the location I wanted online. The staff was helpful! They openly communicated about the status of the condos and offered a better location, which we eventually booked. Although we don't need the extra space we cannot resist the top floor balcony units. A few points I'd like to share. 1. I liked the new app, but I was on vacation and did not look at the phone, so there were some communications that I didn't see. For example, we checked out at 7:45 a.m. and the office doesn't open until 8, so I had to walk to the 'valet' to get a lift. I guess that is my fault for not calling the day before. Not a big thing, but wanted to alert others. 2. Every year, I lament the RECYCLING EFFORTS on the island. This year, at least, they indicated that I could bring my recycling to the back of the check in/front desk. I had more recycling than garbage (remember you have to haul your own food in.) For a gorgeous place, concerned with nature/sea turtles/manatees, it is inconsistent to have guests look at recycling as an afterthought. For reference, I make this comment every visit. 3. On a plus, Tim the maintenance fellow was quick, and talented when it came to correcting some maintenance issues. 4. I think they did a good post covid job of having staff, (not easy in these times). 4. It would be nice to have this item handy - a maintenance pad ( I worked in hotels for decades) to list out the small issues early on so they don't become big ones, and people forget when they want to check out. ie - fridge door pops open, light bulb burnt out in microwave, bug sighting in bedrooms, etc)
FINALLY, This place is lovely, and I really wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. Very quiet and laid back. Thank you. "

Incredible experience for a peaceful weekend. The condo was impeccably clean and well appointed. There were fun little activities for kids and tennis courts were in excellent condition. The resort was very peaceful and relaxing. The condo unit we stayed in was very nice with great views from the three balconies. The beds were good, bathrooms were nice, kitchen was great, everything was upgraded. My only issue was the water pressure was extremely low throughout the place."

"Great service with a BEAUTIFUL setting
Our rental property was beautiful, the service was very professional and polite, and the beach and resort areas were very well taken care of. We really only experienced 2 setbacks; 1. Our original golf cart we rented kept having flat tires, but we were delivered a new one which was much nicer than the original. 2. We rented a 3 BR 3 BA condo, but when we arrived (Saturday) we were told one of the baths was cracked so we couldn't use it but that they were going to have it repaired on Monday. We called Monday and Tuesday to remind them and when we left on Thursday they still had not shown to make the repair. We were given a wine basket upon our arrival for the inconvenience, but we were really hoping to have had a third working shower during our stay."

"Codo Needs Work
There are several concerns I have with the condo. The upstairs a/c grill is dirty. The upstairs and downstairs verticals have several panels missing. One chair in the patio needs the arms glued down. The walls need painting. The general condition of the condo is not what your photos portray. The front desk staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. When I arrived, I asked the Wi-Fi password for the unit and she replied that the condo didn't have Wi-Fi. I said it was advertised as having Wi-Fi. She put me on hold and gave me the password and acted like she was doing me a favor. The pool was dirty most of the time because the pool maintenance man didn't clean it in the morning. One morning there were three shot glasses down at the bottom along with several leaves and debris. This is not the Palm Island I remember coming to several years ago."

"Red tide surprise
We have always enjoyed taking our grandkids to Palm Island but were disappointed this year. We booked two condos in the same building but weren’t told that in addition to red tide we had been switched to 2 separate bldgs. This unit had ants in the kitchen which were treated after we called mngmnt. There were slats missing from the blinds, glass missing from cabinet door and a screen door that banged all thru a storm until we pushed a heavy table against it. This unit was fine but could use some TLC. The kids spent their time at the pool. We missed the beach walks. "

Best view of all the properties!!! Very moderate furniture. Definitely rent a golf cart... you use it constantly. The ferry ride over to Leverock's was great... 10-15 minute ride for great food and view. The staff is absolutely wonderful and friendly... from the moment you arrive they are helpful and polite."

"Beautiful quiet girls get away
This is my 20th time to stay her in the last 9 years and every time I come back it reminds me what a beautiful place it is.
There is plenty if room to spread out in the condo and on the beach. The pool and hot tub are also beautiful and it’s great fun to take a golf cart ride around the island. I can’t wait to book my next visit! The staff was very welcoming and helpful with any requests we had.

Our 3-bedroom villa was beautifully decorated and contained all amenities needed and the service and courtesy were exceptional. Loved the sunsets from our villa. We enjoyed our meals at Rum Bay Restaurant. We were there for a special occasion and the staff was exceptional in their service for the occasions and we were able to enjoy the entire resort and all its amenities. Would recommend it to anyone.

"Another relaxing time
We returned this year for another mini reunion with family. The Resort staff were wonderful through the whole stay.
We were contacted ahead of time that the villa we wanted needed plumbing repairs but we decide to stay in it anyway. We received a discount for any inconvenience we might have. It all worked out fine as we ended up having less people than planned.
The beauty and relaxation of the island is something you can enjoy even when the weather does not cooperate.
We have already planned another visit for August. Can’t wait.

"Beach Villa Three Bedroom C1724A Review
Overall, our experience was very positive. The view was spectacular, proximity to the pool was ideal, and access to the beach was great. However, the Villa was in need of an upgrade - our expectations were high in light of the "Superior" grade given to it although it was likely a "Deluxe" or maybe even a "Standard" relative to internal finishing. The downstairs bathroom ceiling was leaking and had been patched multiple times, the stove/oven needed an upgrade, the screened in porch door banged regularly because the latch was rusted away, the main floor tile was cracking, the window blind closer was missing in the dining area, the coffee pot needed replacing, the dead bolt didn't work smoothly, etc. Most of these issues were general maintenance issues which I would expect to not encounter based upon an approximate nightly price of $500 for our week long rental. Despite the finishing shortcomings, we plan to return to Palm Island. With a few Villa upgrades in this specific unit, we would book the same unit again. "

This was our first time staying at Palm Island Resort, and it totally exceeded our expectations. Our unit was nice, it was clean and the location is perfect. However, it is in need of repairs we hope to see when we return.{let me add we are already booked} Getting around by golf carts add to the relaxing ambience of the island. The staff members are phenomenal making sure their guests are pleased during their stay. Rum Bay rocks with their signature cocktails, sandwiches, and friendly service. We had a good time with the fishing guide we booked twice, looking forward to the next time. Overall we had a great time at a beautiful resort."

"1724A unit
We been coming to Palm Island for 17 yrs and love. Overhear we switch rooms because we;re not sure what month all our families can get together. This year we rented a superior room which we were very disappointed. Slats were missing on both the sliding glass door upstairs and down which case the sunlight to come in very early morning . we ere told there would be , 1 king, 1 queen, and 4 twin beds. Well, when we arrived there was not 4 twins only 2 twin , 1 pull out couch, and 1 trundle bed . This caused issues with 8 of the guest that was staying in the room. Pull out sofa , very uncomfortable, trundle, very uncomfortable. The stove was very dirty and fell apart at there bottom when we were looking for pans. We love Palm Island and will continue to come every year but we expected a really nice room for the upgraded price and probably will not spend the money again on an upgrade. We had better rooms on standard and deluxe . Someone should mention the issues too the owners."

The grills were much smaller the previously. The canopy in the pool area was torn. The villa was great but we needed more trash bags, only two were provided. A better grade of toilet paper would help."

"Memories for a lifetime
We visited Palm Island Resort twice when our children were younger. Now that they are all grown with families of their own, we decided to take everyone back for the PIR experience once again...and we weren't disappointed!! Everything was what we remembered. Great staff, great views, great stay! We had a comfy 3 bedroom villa right on the beach and next to the pool. We rented the golf carts and had a good time exploring the island (lots of turtle sightings). Collecting sea shells was a daily trek with one more beautiful than the next...we came back with the most perfect collections you can imagine! The boys went on a 1/2 day fishing trip and brought us back delicious snook and trout. Lots of good restaurants in the area. We especially recommend Farlows for a great upscale meal and (if you like LOTS of food) Mamas for Italian which is right across the street from Farlows. If you're looking for a laid back family getaway this is definitely the place to go!"

"A Great Escape!
Had an amazing, relaxing, and unwinding vacation on Palm Island. It was the perfect vacation. My family had a vacation home on the South end of the Island (Little Gasparilla) when I was growing up. This was a way for me to come back and share the Island with my daughter. Palm Island has so much to offer... the escape from the mainland, but also has amenities that you would want no matter where you vacation. The Rum Bay Cafe, Market, many pools, tennis courts, the beautiful beach, golf carts, and play grounds make it the perfect spot for a family to go. Just turn off the cell phone, computer, tablet and TV... and escape onto a gorgeous place with wild life and beauty. It is one of the last places where you can experience a slice of "Old Florida" the way it used to be. The last unspoiled jewel!

"Vacation 6th year
This was our sixth stay at Palm Island Resort & one of our best. We had been upgraded to a 3 bedroom villa and we really enjoyed the extra space. My husband commented on how spacious & roomy the villa was. The location was great also....just a short walk to the beach or pool.
The sunsets from the balcony were breathtaking as we're the fireworks July 4th.
Our only request would be to please get rid if the "no seeums"!!"

"Happy return customer
This is my sixth time staying at the resort. We live in Fort Myers, fl. We always have a lovely time. My only complaint is the reservation process. When you look at the resort on-line and make an inquiry, no one ever returns the information requested. I have always had to call the resort. It is hard to book a particular unit that you are viewing on-line, when you are on the phone.
Also, one minor issue, the new pool access cards are a nuisance, especially when you have to push a button, mounted on the canopy, in order to get out. I don't see why renters should be limited to one pool. The cards should grant access to all the pool locations. It would also be nice if the downstairs bathroom had a handicap bar in the shower for elderly guests. Overall, we had another fantastic time. I recommend this resort to everyone looking for a quiet, beautiful location on the gulf coast of Florida."

I would definitely recommend Palm Island resort just not that unit. I have stayed there numerous times and some villas in the deluxe category are nicer than the superior category. Tip: really check out the pictures yourself."

We've been coming to Palm Island since 1992 when our youngest daughter was less than a year old. This year all three of our daughters, one boyfriend and our grandson accompanied us. Although we generally prefer staying in one of the Land's End cottages, this time we stayed in a Beach Villa 3-bedroom unit, and had a very nice experience overall. The location was really close to the beach, which we loved, and we enjoyed easy access to a fresh water pool and barbecue grills which we used daily. We love Palm Island for so many reasons, including the quiet atmosphere, relaxed pace, absence of cars, pristine cleanliness of the beach, great shelling, wading and swimming...and did I mention how quiet it is! Great, regular, reliable, friendly ferry service (in all kinds of weather) makes trips to the mainland, when necessary, easy and fast. Over the course of more than twenty years of stays at Palm Island we have been very satisfied with the condition of the villas and cottages and the way they are equipped. During our most recent stay, although the villa was in good condition and nicely furnished and equipped, there were a few maintenance issues (stair banisters which needed cleaning, mildew in one bathroom, and air filters that needed to be replaced) which were not typical of our previous experiences. Overall we love Palm Island Resort, and plan to return again soon!"

Have been staying at PI ever since it opened. Obviously we like it there and will go back. The front office staff has changed and at times seemed unwilling/unable to solve guest's problems. Not a deal breaker because I don't go there and hang out in the office, but there was a palpable change in customer focus.
The Resturant definitely needs some new directions. The food was only average this time around and service was poor...long wait times, getting take out orders correct etc. I would expect much better given the cost you incure by going to the resturant. Barge men and Bell boys were great as usual. "
